While Cynder was all too well aware of the babbling occurring around her she was unable to perceive the warning of a coming storm beyond suddenly feeling the uptake of wind. It had caught her relatively off guard despite her attempt to curl up as much as possible as they made their way slowly along the mountain side. The forceful gusting finding various paths under her wings to playfully tap against her heated cored. She may not have a strong fiery element to her but Cynder was certain the only thing keeping her from losing feeling in her toes right now was what little churning heat her shadowy fire kept. Any other type of winged lizard would probably freeze. Or be sane enough to send someone else in their stead.

"Just fine," Cynder responded with a light shudder in her voice. In her mind she added to the statement, not wanting to jinx the group with a sudden turn for the worst in the weather. It was going to get worse, of course, but somehow she felt any open mockery or macho phrases bearing the weather would only insight a harsh glare from this snowy behemoth.

The group rose into a forested area on the mountainside, which thankfully shielded them from a bit of the wind for now. However, with this new area came a new challenge. If the group paid well enough attention they might notice they were being stalked by something white and fluffy. it was currently making an effort to keep itself from being seen amongst the brush, but if the group were perceptive enough they might notice it. The snow was doing a fair job masking its scent and step, as well as enhancing its excellent camouflage, but it was not completely masked at this distance.

Meanwhile, Dragonite nodded in confirmation at Paula. ("She wanted to cycle her emotions. This one could take rejection a little better.") the giant responded, his tone revealing a lingering amusement at Iris' childlike emotions. ("Have you found your companion?") Dragonite would go on to ask, this time directed at Shaymin. The words he had chosen implied an expectation of her, rather arrogantly perhaps.

...But then, Dragonite managed to pick up on something. Perhaps it was their aura, or perhaps it was simply a rogue smell drifting his way, but he did notice the group was being stalked. By what, he had no idea. It was unfamiliar to him. Stalking, however, was the cowards hunting method. He feared no stalker. ("Something has started following us.") Dragonite remarked in a matter-o-fact tone.

Paula nodded happily to Shaymin and Cynder as she turned back to Dragonite, who was talking about Iris's emotions.

"Oh...I see." She said to the Dragonite as she looked at Iris, just what exactly was that girl thinking? She also asked If Dragonite was related to something. "By the way, do you know of an Item that's named after you, the bag of Dragonite?" She said to the Pocket Monster, either way the small trudge seemed to end as the group had made It to a forest like area, which confused Paula to great length's as to why there Is a forest like this on a cold mountain. "A forest...On a cold mountain, but how?" She said to the group as she looked around the area, she suddenly felt something odd, as If something was not right.

She quickly turned behind her when Dragonite said something was following the group.

"Huh? Where?"

Paula looked closer but unfortunately she did not see the mystery figure stalking the group. "I'm sorry Dragonite but I cant see It...But I do know something's wrong." She said to the dragon pocket monster as she thought about what the figure would look like, she jokingly said to the pocket monster as the group looked around via telepathy.

"Maybe, It's a yeti or It's child?"

She quickly looked at Cynder and Shaymin.

"What about you guys?"

Iris did seem rather depressed still from that rejection now that Dragonite mentioned it... She never thought she'd someone like Iris this down. Still, as they entered the forest Paula brought up something that confused Shaymin. "It's not really that odd. Trees are perfectly capable of growing in cold environments. There was that whole grotto in the cave remember? Delicate plantlife is a bit rarer but trees are big and strong. They can handle a little cold," Shaymin commented.

Her face then turned a little red at Dragonite's question. Was he asking if she had found a trainer? Why would she ever want one of those humans? She enjoyed her freedom to graze in the wild. Trained Pokemon can be so cocky because they have someone to boss them around... And share time with... Instead of being alone... "I-I don't need an owner! I perfectly enjoy being independent. The only company I need is Sky. Together we are better than being commanded by a human..." Shaymin retorted though her protests were notably getting weaker as she went on. Almost as if she was starting to have doubts.

She shook those thoughts of loneliness aside however as the other two mentioned something was with them. Shaymin gave some sniffs to the air but could not smell anything. "... Are you sure? I don't smell anything. Maybe you are imagining that? I heard being in the cold makes people go a bit crazy," Shaymin questioned skeptically.

Paula seemed to be getting a bit spooked. The snow piled forest breaking through the fog of white flakes whipping around them caused the psychic to not only voice her confusion, but began showing concern; looking around as if trying to spot something. It didn't take Cynder long to realize that it wasn't just Paula. Dragonite had slowed to track something in the air and shortly following the dragoness' other two companions vocalized the discussion in a language she understood. It was always nice to have a confirmation. Their little hedgehog friend didn't seem to think it was anything but Paula and Dragonite differed. One could never be too careful...

Cynder exhaled to settle her shivering and focus down on their surroundings, scanning the trees and scenic white for, well, anything else really. Squinting hard to keep the lashing of snow against her eyes the dark dragon passed over the immediate area a few times. A couple times she thought there was something, always just in her peripheral vision zipping in and out of sight, but not once was she able to catch anything solid. There was definitely a smell though. When the heavier draft of wind wafted through the trees just right she could smell something.

"I don't think they're crazy," Cynder finally piped up. She made some more obvious sniffs in the air as a final attempt to try and pin something down before continuing, "There's someone or some thing around us. I just can't quite tell..." she trailed off with a sudden updraft blowing into her face, causing her to recoil and curl up for warmth.

Dragonite and Cynder were able to gain a general sense of where the creature was, that being at their flank. However, Cynder made the grave mistake of showing weakness while a predator was stalking her. Ironically, it appeared that Dragonite was the only one who managed to make himself out to be an unideal target. As for the girls? ...Well...

("...For a very long time, the humans considered my kind extinct. And in fact, I have never met another of my kind face to face since I was very, very young. I know not of this bag that bears my kind's name, but I dread to think that these two things may be related.") Dragonite murmured in response to Paula's question. He wasn't really the sharpest tool in the shed, and thus did not have the insight to give Paula a better answer to her question. The implication that the bag of dragonite might be responsible for his species' extinction was pretty dark, none-the-less. Luckily, the notion did not appear to anger Dragonite, or depress him for that matter. ("...You know, many humans say the same thing about love. That they do not need it, that they don't want to be controlled, that they are happy being independent. Neither Iris or I ever understood what they meant, but I think I do now.") Dragonite went on to muse aloud in response to Shaymin's indignance towards his comment. ("You alone write the terms of your own relationships, little one. Never forget that.") the titanic pokemon went on to remark. Whether his advice was oddly sagelike coming from him or appropriately assertive was up to one's interpretation. Perhaps both?

The group would not have forever to continue talking however, as their actions were about to catch up to them at a frenzied pace. A sudden burst of movement could be detected as a small wolf pack lunged from their hiding places, the white furred wolves promptly making a move to attack the most vulnerable members of the group as perceived by the wolves. Those being... the little girl, the hedgehedgehog and the dragon cowering from the cold. It appeared all three of them were on the menu. Each wolf lunged out at it's respective target, attempting to bite them and drag them to the ground.

Meanwhile, Dragonite rushed to Paula's aid. Unlike the wolves, he knew Shaymin was more dangerous than she looked. This left Paula as the most vulnerable target in his eyes, thinking of her in terms of most humans. The large dragon lunged out in an attempt to dissuade one of the wolves from continuing its attack, his fist combusting in an impressive display of fire.

...But Dragonite appeared to have a difficult time moving in all the snow, and was unable to strike the wolf in question. Iris woke up with a start at the sudden violent movement, the bewildered girl delirious for only a moment before she zoned in on the attacking wolves. "Woah! That was quick..." Iris remarked. She wasn't expecting an attack until they were at least a quarter of the way up the mountain! ...Or were they already? It was hard to tell, what with having been asleep and all.

Paula looked concerned at the Dragonite, but looked back at Shaymin when he said something about the cold and how It can effect one's mind.

"I'm not sure about that Shaymin." Paula said towards Shaymins statement, she tried to look at the figures that the Dragonite saw earlier but couldn't seem to see them, she was beginning to believe that maybe Shaymin was right, but she knew something was wrong and so did Cynder, sure enough, they were right, because the group that were stalking the group were none other then a pack of wolfs, Paula gasped as the pack focused on her, Cynder and Shaymin.

"I think they want to take a bite at us the most." Paula said to Shaymin and Cynder as the wolfs made there moves at the group, with two of them heading towards Paula.

Paula tried to get out of the way of the two wolfs as Dragonite tried his best to protect her.

"Dont worry, I'll be fine!"

She looked back at the two wolfs and tried to dodge there bites.

Paula was quickly bitten on the arm by the first wolf. "Argh, let go!" she said as she managed to get her arm out of the wolf's mouth, but was quickly grappled by It, allowing the second wolf to bite her on the same arm again. "Why Is that you want my right arm?" She said to the wolfs as she tried to take him the pain from the bite, she used her other arm to cast PSI frost at the wolf that Is grappling her.

"Now It's my turn to attack you wolfs."

"I never said I don't need love! I am the GRATITUDE Pokemon! Love is kind of my most needed emotion... Just Sky is my only..." Shaymin started until Cynder spoke up. So she felt something was up with this forest too?... Now that she thinks about it, she did feel some kind of ominous emotion nearby... Almost like one of... hunger?... How did she miss that before? She could not see or sense anything el-

And then it hit her... Quite literally as a wolf blindsighted her with a bite. Before she knew it she was already pinned by a wolf... Well, that was not a very good scenario to be a part of. She had one idea to turn this around though and took advantage of being tipped over to... Sweet Kiss the canine...

It would appear Shaymin's mind control was on the fritz. She thought it would be a lot easier to take control of this canine... Clearly she needed to be a lot sweeter and manipulitive with that kiss. Well, there was always plan B at least. Taking advantage of any distraction made by that mistake. A bright light was concentrated on Shaymin's body before it exploded outward in a blast of radiance. Hopefully her Dazzling Gleam could get the dog to back off.

The snarls that erupted from their surroundings sent a different kind of shiver down her spine, tail twitching to the side out of reflex. Her head snapped to the source only to find a blur of white fur hailing down on the group. It all happened so quickly, and far too organized for her liking. At least with the mindless infected creatures bumbling around they didn't have much in the way of cooperation, but a pack of wolves was a completely different story. Cynder attempted to get some air, fully aware of the strong winds still blistering about and hoping to use that to get some distance from the three unfriendly beasts bearing down on her. Despite some numbness in her feet it was a success! With her wings partially spread to catch the tiniest bit of wind the dragoness was easily pushed down wind as the wolves rushed in. However, the strong winds made it rather difficult to control when she landed, making it necessary for her to use her own wind ability to get herself back down without tumbling further than she wanted.

The higher vantage gave her a good idea of the positions of her allies through the sting of snowflakes slapping her eyes. It didn't look like her allies were able to do as well with the surprise ambush. Upon landing she knew exactly what she needed to do. Cynder attempted to make herself appear as large as possible, a dangerous prospect in such a strong wind but it was needed. Anchoring herself as best she could into the frozen ground, talons curling tight, she spread her wings and straightened. Her skin darkened with a reddish tint, further contrasting the menacing shine of her metal blades and stark white horns. She momentarily stood on her hind legs to finish making herself as large and menacing as she could, brandishing her bladed tail and getting a good glint off of the others. Then, Cynder released a horrifying howl equivalent to a banshee wailing into the night.

Her fear element radiated outward over the field, pulsing with a harrowing shiver that could seep into the bones of all present. It lasted a long while, seemingly longer than it actually did for those under its influence. She had to make sure all could hear hear so she made the scream long and shrieking, ebbing along the mountain side. Hopefully the wolves would spook and take a hike... and hopefully the mountain decided to remain a quiet behemoth instead of sending an avalanche their way. She hadn't thought of that before.

A solitary wolf was slain by a combination of Shaymin and Paula's efforts, however Paula found it difficult to hit the wolves while they violently shook her in response to finding their mark. Similarly, the wolf that had bitten Shaymin now began to munch on her rather carelessly.

((Shaymin! ...You take an additional 12% damage! Also eww, you've got slobber all over you!))

The three wolves that had attacked Cynder found themselves shying away from the dragon when she took flight. Something about scaly birds man; they freaked the wolves out. One of those wolve promptly made a move for Paula, though. What are you talking about little girl? You're clearly delicious.

((Paula! You take an additional 24% damage! Also, those wolves won't be content to snack on your arm forever...))

As if on cue, one of the wolves lunged towards Paula's neck, as wolves are won't to do! Worse yet, she was still being grappled and thus had no way of defending herself!

Luckily, Dragonite was a bit more on the ball this time around. His mighty fist swatted the wolves away, peeling them off the child before they could strike a death blow at Paula and scooping her up to collect her from harm's way. ((You are too brave for your own good, little one. Why do you speak to death like an old friend..?)) Dragonite asked, confused by Paula's calm and self-confidence.

And then...

((Cynder! ...Your RPer forgot to roll for intimidation! Luckily, it has been seen fit to look past this in light of your prose.))

The wolves froze in fear at the noise Cynder emitted. After just a moment of this, they abruptly turned to flee. It seemed Cynder's plan had worked to perfection, and perhaps spared their smaller teammates another brutal round of trying to fend off the wolves' coordinated attacks. One wolf in particular however chose not to leave alone. It had a new chew toy in the form of Shaymin and had no reason to let go, turning tail and attempting to run with her!

...Or it would have. Dragonite looked around for something to give him a bit more reach before reluctantly reaching for a nearby tree. The sound of a crack was heard from nearby as Dragonite quite literally ripped a tree from the ground, lugging the massive weapon over her head and lunging forward to bring it down upon the wolf as it turned to flee!

Dragonite smash! ...The wolf vanished underneath the tree and Shaymin was launched a couple of feet away before landing in the snow. Crisis averted, for now... However, the group had lost precious time and the skies were starting to deposit snow on them.

As Paula struggled to get out from the wolfs grip, she was bitten by them again. "Owie!" She said as she tried to escape from the wolfs...But she wasn't doing so good, another wolf was about to make a move on her when Dragonite managed to punch It out of the way and rescued Paula from the wolfs. "Thank you!" Paula said cheerfully to the dragon pocket monster as he asked the girl why she was so calm when facing death.

"Well when you come from a world where you turn Into an angel when you die and have to wait until your friends take you to an expensive hospital to revive you...Death Is kind of like being benched on a baseball game, plus with the fact that we turn Into trophy's for two days before turning back to normal...This Is kind of the same." Paula said to Dragonite as he watched him squish a nearby wolf...As all the others quickly flee from Cynder's scare move.

Paula smiled at Cynder...But quickly turned and gasped to see Shaymin, who was recently attacked by one of the wolfs. "Shaymin, are you ok?" Paula said as she trudged through the snow to check on the pocket monster, once she checked on him...A bit of snow fell onto her face, causing her to gasp.

"Oh no, It's starting to snow, this could be the start of one of Icicle Peak's storms, we should move out before things get worse."

Shaymin was confused as she hit a wolf far away but not the one on top of her. She tried to struggle but her small body was no match for a wolf. Shaymin let out a bit of a squeak at the pain caused by the creature and tried to focus enough. There was a power she was sensing in her but the saliva kept her from doing it. Thankfully the dragon scared the wolves a... Hey, wait a minute! "Let me go you stupid mutt!" Shaymin struggled a bit.

Her body started to glow jade a bit as she was about to transform before a tree hit her captor. Sgaymin flew a bit before disappearing into the snow. Shaymin walked out after a moment shivering before shaking the snow off her body. Great, now there was more snow coming down. "... I think you are really underestimating the consequences of death. If we failed to Articuno I doubt we were leaving that place in only two days. He did not seem the type to give us a ride home," Shaymin stated still shivering a little. "I heard two robots were trapped in a Dodongo's Belly for a while. Two days is assuming we made it back somehow... Who knows what could happen while we were unconscious," Shaymin continued this time with a shudder.

"Let's just find the dragon quickly so we can escape this cold..." Shaymin suggested before walking forward. "Oh... and Dragonite... Thanks for the save there," Shaymin added sensing her own Gratitude.... which was an odd sense if she had to be honest. She was still getting used to getting to feel it herself.

As the white beasts balked at her intimidating figure Cynder let her howl tear into the wind a little longer before letting her voice drop; as well as her own self. The frosty gusts spearing down the mountain side were impossible to ignore now with the adrenaline of battle subsiding. Their touch over the last few moments of having spread herself out as large as possible making itself well known as she curled back up around herself with an unquenchable shiver. Thankfully Dragonite was able to follow up and stop one of the wolves from escaping with their other poké friend.

Cynder pushed her way through both the snow settled deep on the ground and that which was freshly coming down, her movements stuttered as her body attempted to vibrate itself to encourage more heat to flow through. It made her feel a little silly but she wasn't about to force herself to stop in fear of freezing. Well, freezing faster than she would otherwise.
"We sh-should probably hurry along here i-in case they decide to c-c-come back," she supported Paula's suggestion through half a shout once she had rejoined her circle of comrades. She was half tempted to take a moment to breath around herself to give herself some relief of the blustering winds, but it would in the end be a bit futile considering how relentless they were. She'd just have to keep herself warm with thoughts of Spyro awaiting her up top. Yeah, that helped. Now if only Li was good enough for such a thing to be true.

Dragonite and Iris just kind of gave eachother a funny look in response to Paula literally shrugging off death. If Paula were reading their minds, she might notice that she there was only one mind between Iris and Dragonite, with what seemed to be both of their thoughts coursing through it. How did they do that? The two, understandably, found the idea of shrugging off death to be wildly insane. They didn't like the words leaving Paula's mouth at all.

(You're welcome...) Dragonite replied to Shaymin as the girl and dragon duo quietly pondered the wisdom of what Paula had said. It didn't seem like a very good idea to trust her judgment on this issue. Dragonite moved to continue up the mountain, heeding Cynder's advice. He couldn't help but muse quietly to himself that the storm seemed to be picking up. As if on cue, a powerful gust of wind would slam into the group as the wind rapidly picked up. If they weren't prepared, it would feel as if they'd just been punched in the face.

Paula looked as Iris, Dragonite and Shaymin were surprised that she dosen't care that much at death, with Shaymin saying that she's underestimating death and Iris and Dragonite looking shocked at her, now she feels awkward. "Sorry...I just see It that way as all, plus with the tight security and soldiers at the life sphere, rescue would of happened eventually." Paula said as she began running from the storm.

Which began to fire a dangerous guest of wind at the group.

"Lookout, incoming winds!"

After getting hit with coldness and being bitten by wolfs, Paula took the wind on and didn't show signs of falling Into the snow below her, she looked at the group, wondering how there doing so far. "You guy's doing alright?" She said to the group as she looked at Dragonite and Iris.

And found out that they were thinking the same thing...Creepy.

"There still thinking about what I said back there about death...Creepy that they almost have the same thoughts...Wait, what If they hear me, If you hear me...Hi, just checking on you two."
