"Oh!" Peach blurted out as Daisy picked her up. She did not resist however as she was brought back to the front lines and set down beside Rosalina. "Rosalina..? Is Blue alright..?" she asked in concern, not having fully understood what happened. "Are.. Are you alright?" she went on to ask, becoming distressed. The princess would be of no help cheering Rosalina up at the moment, as she herself was not cheery enough to pull it off.

The phantasm reeled as it was once again pulverized, irritably stepping around the biting chomps as they tried to bite it. It seemed to have some difficulty dodging them all, however. The phantasm seemed to notice Rosalian coming at him, it's dead eyes peering into her soul. With one swipe of its claw, it parried her golden attack away and completely avoided harm. However, it did not seem to be ready for her second attempt. The beast was struck hard in its little legs, staggering and falling forward! Wait--What direction again? "Watch out!" Perry blurted out, unhelpfully late.

The phantasm reacted with great tenacity, however, retreating into its shell and using the momentum Rosalina had given it to hit the ground spinning. The phantasm then began to violently slide across the pathway, the spines upon his shell twirling dangerously in the faces of the three girls.

Peach for one wasn't prepared to dodge the attack. She had been so close, and it was such a quick attack that left little options other than to float over it or jump into the water. To her shock the whirling spines cut into her rather badly, leaving a wound that would be difficult to heal. She clutched at her side in pain. At this rate, the luma's sacrifice would be in vain. Dire Phantasm Bowser came skidding to a stop near the entrance of the area, rising from his shell and raising his corrupted star rod... It began to draw in energy for a particularly devastating attack. Assuming that nothing stopped him, Dire Phantasm Bowser was about to emit a massive shockwave at the girls!

((Dire Phantasm is using his Circle Wave attack! This attack does 1D20 damage and removes all positive buffs from the victims if it hits. The threshold to dodge is 18. Rosalina may break post order to interrupt this attack by attempting to steal the phantasmic star rod if she wishes.))

Rosalina was quick to evaluate the situation of Bowser's turning. She made sure to quickly jump back before the fake Koopa King could land on her. His next attack also stood no hope of hitting her as she quickly launched out of the way. "I'm fine... I am sure Blue is too," Rosalina replied.

Then the monster prepared another attack and Rosalina saw the Star Rod come back. Taking that would surely weaken his powers immensely and make this easier... Even if Rosalina was not fully thinking this through due to the loss of her luma. The Cosmic Protector moved her wand to create a gravity field to draw the false rod towards her and out of the monster's reach.

The last thing Rosalina would hear was Eldstar calling out to her. "No! Don't touch that!"

...But it was too late. Dire Phantasm Bowser appeared bewildered and confused as his phony star rod was ripped from his mighty palms, his attack never coming to be. The rod was pulled to Rosalina and, in turn, she would feel a surge of newfound strength surging through her body as it met her hands. It was immense, a power unlike anything a mortal had held in quite some time. Yet, before Rosalina could even think to use it against the phantasm she would begin to feel another, far less pleasant sensation. That being, the entire collective hivemind of the starvia weighing down upon her, smothering her mind like an ocean of darkness crushing her with raw pressure.

Rosalina's journey could have ended there. The hivemind had more than enough strength to end her consciousness on the spot, and yet ... it didn't. No... The hive had a much more cruel fate in store for Rosalina. She was to become a prisoner in her own body, like many before her. The star spirits, and Peach for that matter, recoiled in abject horror as Dire Phantasm Bowser began to disintegrate on the spot, his body breaking down into a torrent of dark energy that immediately began funneling itself into Rosalina. For a moment it was too much power, more than Rosalina's mortal body could contain, but then her body began to grow stronger to accommodate that power. The room would seem to spin and Rosalina would find herself growing many times her normal size, now towering above the other girls like never before.

The void of space beckons

((Rosalina! You are being possessed! While you are not technically infected, you are completely unable to escape the starvia's control. It suppresses your mind, forcing you to bring suffering and death to your former loved ones and comrades. You may attempt to speak and communicate, however, the starvia will corrupt anything you say into something cruel and perhaps even false entirely. Additionally, you have gained access to several new moves for the duration!

Ground Pound: Squish someone with your massive ... erm... presence! Does 16% damage and disables either a foe's primary attacks, special attacks or their ability to use items for 3 turns. The effect does not stack with itself. Roll Threshold: 18

Struggle: This attack can only be used if Rosalina rolls a 18 or above using her INT modifier. It allows her to temporarily resist the starvia just enough to hold back while fighting. This attack takes the form of clumsy yet violent movements, doing a meager 8% damage if it hits. Roll Threshold: 8

Lightning Strike: Using the star rod, call down lightning to smite a solitary foe! Does 20% damage and has a 50% chance of paralyzing. 2 Turn Cooldown. Roll Threshold: 16

Circle Wave: Launch a massive shockwave using the star rod. This shockwave attack deals 12% damage and removes any positive buffs on the target. 5 Turn Cooldown Roll Threshold: 18

Star Shield: Become invincible! All of your stats raise by 4 and any attack against you will fail, forcing the girls to use the peach beam. Additionally, the roll threshold on any attack you use in this form is increased by 2. 3 turn cooldown.

Nom: Take a bite out of the competition! Or not. Your competition is already bite sized, it seems. The target is consumed, presumably KOing them. Rosalina leeches 5 HP from the target's remaining health pool each turn until it reaches 0 HP.

Additionally, your star power buff has been corrupted! It is now called the Dark Star Power buff and gives you a +5 to all of your mods instead of a +4. Lastly, all of your normal attacks may now apply the sickness status condition in their corrupted forms. All of Rosalina's normal attacks and grapples are assumed to have a dodge threshold of 16.))

Meanwhile, Peach just sort of held the pendant over her heart in distress as she watched her loved one turn into what appeared to be an enemy, judging by the starvia aura around her. She was grappling with the terrible realization that her precious Rosalina, her special one, was probably about to attack her. Her survival instincts weren't kicking in however, and she stood there like a deer in headlights. She could hear her heart raging against the situation. She couldn't kill Rosalina..! Could she? It felt beyond her. "Oh no..." Eldstar remarked, joined by the uncomfortable murmuring of the other star spirits. "Peach! Are--...Are you okay?" Twink went on to ask, floating down to the distraught princess. Peach did not respond, as she was currently holding her breath.

"Peach... I know you're strong enough to save us all." Twink went on to say, noticing Peach's distant stare. "Rosalina needs your help, Peach!" Perry was quick to add, the two loyal friends working to snap Peach out of her state of shock and horror. "Hey--Where's Daisy..?" Perry went on to ask, twisting in Peach's grasp to look for the oft forgotten princess. It seemed like a great time for some sisterly support, especially when the situation had just grown far more dire.

Daisy couldn’t believe what just happened. Sure she’d feel bad if one of her Piranha Plants got stepped on during this fight…but for a Luma to go out like That… She couldn’t imagine what Rosalina must have been feeling. And for Rosalina to still pull such a brave face, Daisy was moved.

Daisy almost dropped Peach the way her jaw dropped when Rosalina executed her critical Vengeance Galaxy Swish Sweep. But she didn’t. Peach was still safe in her arms, but she couldn’t just stand there and not help Rosalina and her plants destroy that monster.

Daisy put Peach back down at Rosalina’s side. She returned to the side of her Piranha Plants when the Dire Phantasm Bowser’s Sliding Fortress came at them like a freight train.

Quick and nimble as ever, Daisy managed to dodge the Sliding Fortress with acrobatic swiftness.
She crouched, braced herself to either block or jump out of the way for whatever the Bowser was about to do with his Star Rod when all of a sudden, whoosh!
The Star Rod was drawn out of its hand and into Rosalina’s.
"Yeah way to go Rose!” Daisy cheered before realizing what this caused. "way to go…” she repeated in a completely opposite tone of horror.

"We’re gonna need a bigger garden.” Daisy said flatly in a thousand yard stare as she squatted down and planted more seeds.

Perhaps Daisy put Peach down too soon as they were both cut by the fortress and grievously wounded.

"Bun Bun!” Daisy rushed back to Peach’s side, that granted she never left. "That does it! I am not letting you out of my sight again!” she decided. "Bun Bun? Peach snap out of it!” she called in distress, trying to shake Peach out of her trance. She didn’t have the patience to do this like this right now. Staying where they stood, they were all sitting ducks, so Daisy had to do what she could to protect Peach while she wasn’t able to protect herself.
"Well whatever.” She strapped Peach onto her back in the familiar Yoshi ride position and started running.
"Rosalina already lost one person precious to her today. She might have lost herself. But I’ll star in the Super Mario Bros movie Sequel before I let her lose you too!” 
Daisy was prepared to offer herself as a body shield or a getaway vehicle for what was coming.

Rosalina did not intend to catch the Star Rod but she did out of instinct. She felt she should of probably of let it drop but it was too late now as she felt a sudden surge of power. She did not feel the power was a good thing, but before she could think to throw it away, the thoughts immobolized her as she put her hand at the sudden unrelenting thoughts. She could barely think as the wishes chose to make her the target of their form.

She could not feel much control, almost none in fact over the power. She was used to holding quite a high amount of power but this power was not something she could grasp. It was hard to argue with the corrupting thoughts that made her body out of control... Yet this seemed not like how she would expect the infected to feel. It was less hive mind and more mental assault... It was more a form of mental limbo than anything... A very noisy mental limbo. Still, maybe they could get the wishes out of her in a similar form to the Bowser. She just had to concentrate and maintain her calm against the torrent and present an issue.

One may think she would panic more under this situation, but Rosalina was finding it strangely easy to keep calm. She could not exactly lose her concentration or the results could be bad. The torrent tried to move her but her calm mind was proving too much a mental barrier to liably control. This resulted in a very weak flail towards Daisy on the outside at the issues caused.

Peach gently pulled away when Daisy grabbed her. She wasn't feeling very well, and being manhandled wasn't helping her in that regard. The princess gave Daisy a look that said she didn't want to be touched right now before turning her attention back to the issue at hand--the giant woman attempting to destroy them.

Peach deftly dodged out of the way of one of Rosalina's giant heels, ...Those were some nice shoes--Hey! What was she thinking about shoes for at a time like this? ...Well they were kinda all up in her face and ever so pretty. Still danger mode was activated! Peach ... couldn't bring herself to hit Rosalina. Some might call this weakness, especially considering it was impossible for Rosalina to free herself but well... Peach doesn't know that, and spousal abuse just wasn't something Peach was ready to face. The princess approached Rosalina, cupping her hands. before her. "Rosalina, please..! You have to break free of its control!" Peach pleaded, attempting to reach the other's heart.

Eldstar once again spoke up, this time to give a warning. "Princess, the hivemind is too strong for what you ask. It has been given physical form for a reason! Please, you must focus while you still have time!" he warned, knowing fully well that Rosalina couldn't possibly overpower the hivemind with sheer force of will. After all, the star spirits combined hadn't been enough. Peach seemed unconvinced, however. "No! ...I have faith in Rosalina. She's stronger than you think." the princess replied softly, unwilling to accept that she had to fight. Had she just corrected a star spirit? A very questionable move on her part.

“Oh good to see you finally woke up.” She said turning around to meet the “don’t touch” look on Peach’s face. That twinge in her eye was enough to tell Daisy she was overreacting and this was not the way. She could only respond with a look of confused frustration as if to ask “Well what Is the way?” before turning her attention as well to the giant woman attempting to destroy them with a struggle.

Daisy being the last able bodied member of the team, was sadly also the one who was the most lost. The humble princess had the relative least experience with magic and the stars by far. She had barely an idea what was going on let alone what to do.
“So what’s the game plan here?” Daisy asked, willing to take an answer from Peach Perry Twink or Eldstar. 
“Offensive? Defensive? That giant Cosmic Clone is still Rosalina! Or is she?” She gripped her hair in confusion “I don’t even know anymore!”

Daisy backed out of the way of Rosalina’s weak flail, but seeing the giant Rosalina just float over her Piranha Plants didn’t help her condition one bit.

Rosalina could not hear Peach through the stream of wishes. Her mind was beginning to lose it's focus on keeping the wishes out. Despite Peach believing in her her mental barrier was temporarily down as the situation began to effect her and weakened her concentration. This allowed the wishes in to control her actions until she could focus long enough to shut them out. In the moment though one Nipper managed to land it's bite despite the odds.

With Rosalina losing her extremely limited control, the dark version of her made to reach down and grab Peach. The reasoning was unclear at the moment as Rosalina was currently having trouble focusing at all. The other hand raised the Star Rod to call down a bolt of lightning upon Daisy with the air causing her hair to raise.

Peach pouted at Daisy. They had very clearly seen that this was no clone in dramatic fashion. Had the other been distracted, somehow? "We can't kill Rosalina! We have to help her..!" Peach blurted out. She knew Daisy was on her side. She probably didn't want to hurt Rosalina either--right? Before Peach could get out another word, however, a giant hand reached out to grab her. Peach emitted a little gasp of discomfort as she was subjected to a tight grip. One could hear the muffled snap of her hoop skirt cracking under the pressure. Luckily for Peach, she was used to breathing in 'tight circumstances' on account of her corset.

...The princess squirmed a bit in Rosalina's gasp, giving the giant woman a pleading look that said she wasn't entirely comfortable being held this way. However, she was understandably incapable of overpowering Rosalina's massive strength and wound up giving up after a few moments. She then proceeded to wrap her arms around one of Rosalina's giant fingers and lay her head down on it, just kind of hugging the much larger woman. A little stream of magical hearts rose from her head. Clearly if she tried hard enough, she'd be alright--right? The power of love had never failed her yet!

Daisy's hair would begin to rise up into the air just before the lightning strike, giving her forewarning of it's approach.

Daisy was about to signal her new Munchers to stand down, she was surprised at Rosalina's giant hand swooping down and scooping up Peach.

"Bun Bun!” Daisy yelled as Rosalina snatched her up in her giant mits. "This is no time to get kidnapped!”
Before Daisy could do anything Mario-esq about it, she felt hair beginning to rise off the ground in defiance of gravity. She remembered what this meant.
"Aw No!”

Ever the artful dodger, Daisy managed to sidestep lightning of all things.
"Hey that was not nice!” Daisy frowned. She turned to her Munchers to resume attacking, but seeing as they were immobile at this phase, it'd be pointless. All she could do was snort in frustration.

Daisy was going to throw a Superball at Rosalina to get her attention, but squinting for a closer look she saw Peach...wrapping her arms around one of Rosalina's giant fingers and laying her head down on it, just kind of hugging the much larger purple woman? What was she doing? Or was this her plan? Her plot to snap Giant Starving Rosalina out of this Starvia infection?
Daisy decided to stop and observe first.

Rosalina was having trouble concentrating but she could still see the outside. She had to focus through the various wishes... Some of which like consume gave her a really bad feeling. Overpowering the waves felt impossible but she had to fight it long enough... Long enough for what she was not sure since this seemed futile. Almost felt like they have failed because of her hasty actions.

It almost made her lose enough hope to struggle with it any further... But then she noticed Peach in her grasp... That hope she had despite the futility gave her more strength. Rosalina could not give up and had to focus to stop the wishes from making her react on their desires. Her determination was enough to push the thoughts out for the moment and form another mental barrier. Causing a struggle until this concentration was inevitably broken too.

Then out of nowhere came another Star Kid... with Mario's Hat?... No wait, that was a Luma with Mario's hat... Oh, it appeared the Apricot Baby Luma that was named Lumio due to his bond with Mario... To the point he probably indefinitely borrowed that hat. He looked around confused however he got here as the situation in front of him did not make much sense. Mama was way bigger than usual and... Holding other Mama? He is confused.

"Daisy..!" Peach whined in response to the other's teasing. "Rosalina can't kidnap me. We're already..." she went on to say, rapidly trailing off as she didn't want to go down that path again. She figured Daisy probably didn't care for it either. Regardless, Rosalina's violent movements shook the poor princess wildly, causing her to grasp at her crown to prevent it from flying off. The shaking bruised her delicate body and she winced however, breathing as hard as she could manage before gently laying her head back down upon Rosalina's finger, feeling a bit tired herself. She resumed her efforts to rouse the stricken princess from her possession. A stream of little pink bubbly hearts rose from her head into the air, up until the point she noticed a familiar hat not far off.

...Mario? She wasn't--Oh. It was a luma. That made much more sense.

The days of Mario being her hero were over.

"Little Luma... Your Mothers need your aid." Peach murmured, a bit short for breath. "Rosalina's being controlled by a great evil. Help us..." she went on before running out of breath. She had to be a bit conservative with her words to prevent herself from getting oxygen deprived.

Meanwhile, the star spirits watched anxiously from a distance. They didn't seem very faithful in Peach's strategy, almost as if they knew the threat better than her or something.

Having faith in Peach's plan was the only thing stopping Daisy from attacking Rosalina and interfering. And out of the blue came one of Rosalina's kids. They were both closer to Rosalina than Daisy ever was, and if there were anyone with a chance of breaking through to her, it was them. She understood this. But her patience was wearing thin.

Rosalina continued to focus on keeping the wishes at bay. Seeing Lumio arrive at the scene did make things feel a bit easier now. Her barrier continued to block the effects  of the wishes forcing another struggle. She could not really prevent herself from committing harm to Peach. However, she was successful in delaying the plans of the forces making her strike out at her Special One and friend.

Lumio looked at Peach as she attempted to explain the situation. The Baby Luma then looked up at Rosalina in thought of the situation. It was not sure what could be done at this point. No amount of transforming could help... And he hoped violence was not necessary. The Luma looked to the Star Spirits as it thought about the situation. "Help?" "I wish she wouldn't..." Peach complained rather lamely in response to Daisy criticizing the way Peach was being held. The princess was by no means disagreeing with her; she herself was very uncomfortable being held this way, especially by someone she trusted so much. However, Peach did not give up trying to pacifyRosalina into submission. What was the point of fighting to live when she would have to live with the burden of knowing she'd had to hurt the woman who had opened her heart up to, the woman she'd opened her heart up to in turn? There had to be another way...

Peach squeezed out a single item from her rather tight position, taking a deep breath before tossing the assist trophy into the air. It burst, revealing...

The girl passed a picnic basket to Peach before joyfully skipping over to Daisy and laying a similar basket down in front of her with food within. Apparently, Peach hadn't brought any food for Rosalina. How rude! Rebecca proceeded to vanish in a burst of light as if she'd never been real.

Peach for one dug in right away, attempting to buy herself more time. All this food wouldn't help her thighs fit in Rosalina's crushing grip any better, but hey. After she finished, Peach allowed the picnic basket to fall away from her and laid her head back down on Rosalina's hand, placing an arm around Lumio and joining him in the cuddling of Rosalina's pointer finger. "We'll be alright..." Peach quietly reassured the luma.

...But things were about to take a turn for the worst. Peach, Lumio and even Daisy were doing a great job of trying to appeal to Rosalina's inner ... Rosalina. However, Peach had rejected the Star Spirits sage advice and gravely underestimated the sheer weight of the collective hivemind. Clarity would return to Rosalina for a moment as if she had been released from her mind control. Yet, almost as quickly as it came it went. This time, the hive mind came down harder, frustrated by the massive resistance it was meeting. None could resist its full unadulterated strength ... right?

The fate of the world may rest upon your shoulders." he murmured. Wow. No pressure or anything, Daisy. Just the entire world.
