Peach glanced between Rosalian and Daisy, decidedly missing whatever Rosalina had picked up on. She was too busy trying to figure out what a chinese was. ...It must be some sort of Sarasaland term, which she wasn't all too familiar with. For whatever reason though, Rosalina wanted to speak to her privately over it. Perhaps she was missing something that had been going on? Her eyes twinkled with recognition as she watched the two, but she said nothing. Though it piqued her curiosity, the notion that anything was wrong was lost on her. These were two of her best friends! Surely nothing but good could come from them having a talk.

Peach would turn to follow Daisy towards the shop, located on the second highest rise in Star Haven. They had quite a few steps to climb to get their, the ground twinkling and almost appearing to shift under their feat as the celestial light bounces off of it. Thankfully, the building itself was actually easy to see into. With doors made of transluscent light and a cone shaped ceiling that left large gaps in the walls on all sides, they'd be able to get a full view of the shop before they even entered. Within the shop was a lone grey star. Things looked like they'd been ransacked, with no items left on the shop display. Who had taken them?

"Nnnn--You can't--rrrr-have--it! Aaah!"

...The star appeared to be talking to himself, not having noticed the girls yet. Like the first star, this one appeared to have extremely very poor perception. Peach would walk up to the door and stop, turning to Rosalina and Daisy. "Alright... Do either of you have a plan?" Peach asked. She was, of course, asking how exactly they were supposed to deal with the star. Clearly it was too mad to be reasoned with, and they didn't want to fight it -- or did they? Was that what it came down to? Peach seemed unsure of herself. "Maybe we could... sneak up on it?" she offered thoughtfully, glancing at Daisy. The flower princess was doubtlessly best suited to sneaking, and although their enemy was incompetent failure likely meant they'd have a fight on their hand. "I wonder if it has any of the items the shop used to stock." Peach would go on to muse. Something to consider, to be sure.

She peered through the door to get a good look.

...But was unable to get a good view on the star. If it was holding anything, it was turned away from them where they couldn't see it. Huh.1d20+5

Daisy did her best to shake her introspective looks off. It was time to focus and get her game face back on. 
She ran ahead of her comrades almost in an attempt to hide her face from them.

She was not the kind of girl who'd let what she thought or felt get in the way of how she acted or what she did.
At least she'd like to think she wasn't that kind of girl. She wished that she was. Her emotions and feelings would just get in the way and ruin everything.

Though sadly, the much more charismatic stat girls around her could read her like an open book.
So she...felt some way...about Peach and Rosalina's relationship, so what? it's not like...it's not like...
This would be the part where the bright side would be added, where things aren't as bad as there could be, but was there one? Was there really?
Well dwelling on these thoughts didn't make anything better for any one, now did they? This was the question Daisy had to keep asking herself.

"What was that? Who me?" Daisy acknowledged, snapping back to what looked like her peppy old persona like a practiced professional.
"Why sure we can, Rosey." She answered with a smile. "What about?" feigning a lack of awkwardness.
She distracted herself from said awkwardness by directing her attention instead to the twinkling of the steps they were climbing.
She looked up and ahead and saw that they arrived at their destination. This came to her as a relief.

"Well whatever it is, I guess it Will have to wait. We're here." Daisy confirmed, sizing up at the building.

Daisy walked up a gap in the wall and looked through. She noticed the lone star talking to itself sooner than she noticed the barren shelves.
"Another one like this?" she groaned. 

Daisy turned to Peach and Rosalina to see if they had any ideas. The last time this happened, Daisy's idea to simply approach it and ask what was wrong didn't...yield many positive results.
When Peach suggested Daisy go in again, Daisy predictably stepped up once again at the chance to be useful.

"Alrighty, looks I'm going in again." she nodded
"I'll just sneak in around it, tip toe up behind it, then I catch it in a net and we haul it away quetioning?"

The rocks from the shroom Rosalina ate has vanished with the Powerup's effect, leaving Rosalina much more mobile again... though she was not exactly a great source of speed to begin with. Regardless, she followed the three others to the shop that the Star Kid was causing some form of trouble. Daisy still had that feeling of doubt beside her but Rosalina ignored it. The princess seemed a bit off put by her request but she decided to ignore it.

"No reason to worry. I assure you it is something small," Rosalina replied as she looked at the store. Her words were not entirely true but it was hard to notice through her monotone voice. Well, it was not entirely a lie either as it was not anything big to Rosalina... She felt it mattered a whole lot more to Daisy though.

"I am not entirely sure we should kidnap them. In their current state I think that might do more harm than good. Surely there is some other solution we can take. Have any ideas, Peach?" Rosalina asked as she moved her head to try and get a good look to see if the Star Kid had anything. If she could, she would surely tell the others.

The star spirit had a can of super soda and a shooting star item on its person. It appeared to have likely taken them from the shop. Upon being informed this by Rosalina, Peach considered their options. Containing a crazy person without hurting them was ... a challenge, to say the least. Perhaps though... Maybe, just maybe... She could wish some sense into. Peach would press her hands together and begin making a wish...

...The star began to glitter as the sheer weight of Peach's personality bore down upon it's wind. Not only did Peach manage to get a clear message through to the star spirit, but the strength of her wish seemed to get a very striking reaction. The star wobbled erratically as it's body began to sparkle with magical potency, color returning to it's body. The sheer power in Peach's heart had overpowered whatever force had been gripping the star's mind. The star looked around in confusion and promptly dropped the can and shooting star as it realized it was in a shop. Dazed and confused, it turned to notice the princess looking at it. One could see the recognition in it's eyes; it was fully conscious now. "U-Um.." the star spirit stammered out in confusion, hesitantly moving to exit the shop. "I-I need to go!" it stammered out, moving to flee the area.1d20+4

Despite her best efforts to repress it, Daisy did feel bad about how this was all seeming to go.
Just when she might have been warming up to Rosalina too. The pressure was on to keep her in that light. But she had no idea how long she could keep her resentment of her bottled up. And what's worse, she didn't know much longer she could last without making another wish.

Daisy really hoped Rosalina meant it when she said it was something small. She wished she only had small things to worry about.
But that was just her whole problem in the first place wasn't it? Wishes.
Wishes to get back home, wishes she didn't have to hike in heels, wishes to be alone with Peach again, wishes that Rosalina wasn't getting in the way of that, wishes that she was as cool as Rosalina, wishes that she was as popular as Rosalina, what good did any of these wishes do?
Who said that any wish could be heard and answered when wished on the morning star? Somebody thought of that, and someone beleived it. Look what that's done so far.

What's so amazing that keeps us stargazing? And what do we think we might see?
"Oh sure just one simple magical christmas wish would be enough to-" Daisy's comment was cut short by the star coming back to it's senses.
"Well I'll be Dis'd." Daisy turned to Peach slack-jawed, eyebrows wringing in confused amazement. "How did you Do that?"

Perhaps something could be taken away from this. What if the power of wishes really did work both ways? What if there was a way that whoever did this to all these stars could undo it?
Daisy snapped out of her amazement to realize the star was fleeing the shop.

"Hey wait it's getting away! Shouldn't we stop it?" Daisy asked her superiors, ready to chase after it.
Maybe...just maybe... Maybe someday we'll find it... that mysterious connection that links all of this together.

Rosalina looked at Peach as she seemed to be wishing again. How was wishing going to help stop the star kid from stealing... Actually, that made a lot of sense now that she had thought about it. Bad wishes are the reason Star Haven is in this state of insane star kids... So pure wishes would be capable of saving them from the pain of the wishes.

Rosalina watched the star kid leave the store and smiled. Peach was really reliable when she put her mind to it. "Great idea, Special One. Your wish snapped the star kid out of his trance. It seems we have a way to counter the dark wishes afterall... at least for now," Rosalina congratulated before turning her attention to Daisy.

"The star kid is normal for now. It was not his own desire to try and steal these items. The wishes corrupted him into acting against his will... Speaking of which, it would seem this issue is resolved... We should find the Star Spirits and see if we can help there too," Rosalina suggested.

Peach beamed proudly in response to Rosalina's praise and Daisy's amazement. It felt good to be the center of such positive attention! She would then nod firmly in response to Rosalina's suggestion. "Thanks~!" she replied, beaming appreciatively at Rosalina for a moment. "I just kinda... did it like this!" Peach would go on, once again making a wish.

...Clearly, whomever had made trouble in Star Haven hadn't been expecting the princess of the mushroom kingdom to come to it's aid. Two times is no fluke, and so as Peach made her second wish the girls might notice the stars beginning to sparkle overhead. The sparkles of energy rained down Star Haven, a gentle shower of beautiful magic purging the land of evil. All across star haven, stars began to rise from their trances and rejoiced as they found freedom. The stars began to surround the girls, dancing about in joy as they found themselves free of the oppressive force that had bound them. With each jump, the stars doused the girls with sparkles. The sparkles clung to the girl's hair and clothes, staining their dresses with subtle star shaped prints that one could see if one looked at them from certain angles. Shiny! It was also a very warm sensation, probably to Daisy's relief.

(The group is filled with an enormous ammount of star power! All of their mods will be increased by 4 for the duration of the mission!)

Suddenly however, the group stopped as a hollow explosion rang out from the heavens above. Peach flinched as a silence overtook the haven. Several stars fled for their home at the disturbance. One of the remaining stars stepped forward to address the group. "Thank you, but the star spirits are in deep trouble. Please, go help them now!" the star pleaded. Peach seemed to understand the urgency in his voice and nodded, looking to her two comrades before turning and jumping off the building. She would proceed to carelessly float down towards the Star Spirits shrine using Perry, stopping once she reached the bridge leading into the shring itself to wait for the others.

...

And then, the group would inevitably enter the shring.

An unholy presence bears down on the group.

As the group entered, a malevolent presence bore down on them. Even after they had been empowered by the stars themselves, it was still strikingly difficult to resist this oppressive presence. It would feel as if something was weighing down on them, both mentally and physically.

(Roll intelligence to resist the malevolent force. There is practical meaningful consequence for failing this roll, but your character may appreciate someone to lean on if they do. The threshold is 19.)

Peach for one was feeling strong, and she puffed out her chest, parading up the steps of the shring towards the pedestal in the cetner, invading the circle of star spirits hovering around them. If one looked around, they could see the star spirits gazing unseeing into the distance. They murmured incoherently, and worst of all... All seven star spirits were grey. Noteworthily, the Star Rod was missing. The Star Spirits did not acknowledge the girl's presence until all three had entered. At that time, and only at that time, would Eldstar, the oldest star spirit with the most impressive mustache, speak up.

"Spirits, a star child is among us..."

This could only further evidence the notion that pure wishes could do good to Daisy.
Daisy felt a new sensation of peace in that perhaps there was a way for her to undo the damage she might have done.
If one could sense aura, one would sense Daisy's cold aura thawing out again, playing a sweet violin song of humble rejuvenation
But that violin struck a sour note at "Special One" again. This was gonna be much tougher than Daisy thought a second ago.

"But who'd wish to steal from a shop as out of the way as this one?" Daisy pondered with her typical sense of puzzlement
"Space pirates? Yeah let's find these Star Spirit guys already. All this introspection's making me dizzy."
Just when Daisy couldn't get more stumped, Peach made a second crit wish in a row!

"Jimminy Cricket!" she gasped "That is some Second-Star-To-The-Right level wish making right...there?" Daisy's praise was cut short as she looked up.
What she saw up there stole her breath away. Hundreds, thousands, millions of little sparkles sprinkling down on them like snowflakes!
Daisy was speechless as her eyes grew wet enough to reflect the unbelievable sight she saw. The dream-like vision that was happening around her. Happening to her. Happening to all of them.
And to further add to the atmosphere, the local stars rose from their trances and began to rejoyce and dance around their heroines. It was as if the day had already been saved.
But there was no way it could be ending now, this was the the best part!

"B-Bunbun... Daisy started, finally regaining her ability to speak. "...you did it. You Did It!" as squealed as she jumped out, glomped both Peach and Rosalina, lifted them up and twirled them around. "I have no idea how, " she blinked " but you did it! And it was amazing and and..." she hit a pause yet again when she noticed the new edition to their clothes.
"Look at you two!" she gasped, setting them down so they have a chance to look at each other. She took this time to look herself up and down as well. "And look at me three!" she giggled, swirling herself around to show off the glittery texture of her outfit now.

Like I just narrated, their quest was nowhere near over yet, as a hollow explosion boomed from above.
Daisy stopped in place and looked around, bracing as she saw the stars fleeing. She nodded to the remaining star dutifully and dived off the building beside Peach.

What would've otherwise been an embarrassing fall was made right as Daisy's new star powers slowed her descent and gave her plenty of time to stick the landing. Some sparkles sprinkled out of her hair upon impact. It looked pretty cool.
"Awesome."

She fearlessly stepped into the shrine, braced and poised for the worst. And it felt like she just might get the worst. she felt as if something was weighing down on her, not just pressure physically, but something was bugging her mentally too.

Daisy, fortified with star power brushed off the malevolent force without so much as a shrug.
She continued her stride, stopping just behind Peach to look up at the Seven Star Spirits as if seeing them for the first time.
There was such a strong aura of awe about them, she couldn't even bring herself to quip about the way they were babbling incoherently.
And then the Eldstar with perhaps the most spectacular moustache she had ever seen announced the presence of the Star Child.


Daisy's first instinct was to think it meant Rosalina, but quickly reminded herself by Peach's reaction that Peach was indeed one of the seven star children.
Again it seemed just about everything about Peach's world was made out to be the greatest fairy tale ever told, except it was all true. Daisy was seeing it all unfold before her very eyes. It had to be true. But all Daisy could do in this story was stand back and watch it unfold.1d20+1·1d20+1

Rosalina watched as Peach did another wish to demonstrate her wishing power... And it was quite an impressively powerful wish to be seen. Tons of Star Kids made themselves known as they flew around them. They seemed to grant her and the rest of the group some special powers. "Right, let's go," Rosalina agreed as she jumped after Peach and Daisy with her winter gear starred up like her dress.

Rosalina was not used to taking leaps outside of a dress... ironically enough. This caused Rosalina to stumble a bit as she made the landing. This stumble surprised the Luma and he was not able to stop as he hit Rosalina in the back of the head. "Woah!" This caused Rosalina to fall down to the ground rather comically. She quickly floated herself back to standing ground and dusted herself off before following into the shrine.

Upon entering the shrine, Rosalina felt very oppressed compared to the rest of the group. Even the blue luma was uneffected by the powerful force. Perhaps her failure to resist the malevolent force had to do with her cosmic connections. Regardless, she clenched her head in reaction to the sudden amount of force. She then fell to her side was forced to use Peach as support as the power was already too much for Rosalina.

"Mama?!" The Blue Luma exclaimed. "Star Kid? I don't see any... I'm a luma..." The star Kid said before getting worried over Rosalina again.

Peach was shocked as Rosalina nearly collapsed against her, reaching out to embrace the other in a side hug and help prop her upright. Peach would hold Rosalina close, guiding her to lay all of her weight upon Peach and shifting her own weight to accommodate the other. "Mama will be alright..." Peach replied quietly to Rosalina's luma, not wanting the star spirits to overhear her. Who knew what little word might cause them to freak out in their current state?

Speaking of which... Mamar, the feminine star spirit with a bow on her head, spoke up in response to the conversation at hand. "He's right! I don't see any star kids!" she blurted out, squinting skeptically at the group. She moved closer to get a better look, her eyes blinded by whatever was afflicting them. "Where are the Star Children? Did you take them?" she asked. The star spirits began to murmur, troubled by the accusation. Eldstar, in particular, did not join in. In fact, after a moment, he would shout to grab the other's attention. "NO!" the eldest star shouted out. "It is merely... a prank our star child is pulling on us. Allow me to speak to them." he would go on, his voice strained from having raised it. Eldstar floated towards the group, murmuring as he went. "Forgive me, my brothers and sisters, for I must be selfish for a moment..." he apologized.

The star spirit would slowly regain his color as he approached. Apparently he had offset his burden onto his fellow star spirits.

"...Aaah, it feels wonderful to see clearly after so long. Alas, our time here is short. We face an evil greater than anything we've experienced in our lifetimes as we speak. Surely, you can feel it's mere presence weighing down upon you. So I ask you, friends, what brings to you our sanctuary?"

The Star Spirit's tone seemed hopeful as if he was expecting help from the group. Seeing as how he was the only coherent star spirit, one might surmise that he had been the one to allow them access to Star Haven. "The stars spoke to us and told us what was going on. How can we help..?" Peach asked, acknowledging Eldstar's request for brevity. It was clear that he had likely deposited a great weight upon the other star spirits, and that what they were doing was probably very unsafe. Eldstar looked to his companions for a moment. "Aaah... So it was you who cured them?" he asked in surprise. "I should have known that a pure heart like yours was behind this. Unfortunately, the dark wishes cannot simply be wished away. When you purified the stars, the wishes merely found a new target to torment--us." Eldstar explained lamely. "I'm sorry for your burden, but there has to be some way to get rid of them, right?" Peach pleaded. She didn't like the idea of leaving the star spirits like this. That felt all kinds of wrong.

Eldstar appeared to consider this for a long moment. "...Yes, but it is very difficult, and it's only temporary. The wishes will build up again in time, perhaps even more dangerous than before." the star spirit went on to lament. Peach's eyes widened. Was the star spirit saying hope was lost?!

Time for some exposition!

"The dark wishes come from those who have lost their minds to the starvia. Though the starvia cannot reach us in star haven, it finds ways to attack us from afar. Every one of them wishes in tandem. They all wish for the same thing, and their voices are magnified by a thousand fold in tandem. It prevents us from hearing any other wish, and slowly it becomes all we can hear. It becomes all we can think about. Words lose meaning, and then we lose our minds.

Eldstar paused for just a moment, turning to gaze upon each of the gathered women. "Would you hear my wish; Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom, Princess Daisy of Sarasaland, Princess Rosalina... of the galaxy and her young companion?" he asked. He seemed to pause twice while giving Rosalina's name as if he were unsure how to address her in particular.

Daisy tried hard to maintain a professional air about her, so it was quite challenging for her not to snort and giggle at the sight of Rosalina stumble on her landing.
It was a good thing Daisy's eyes pointed up and observing the environment above and around them, had she kept looking forward at Peach and Rosalina who knows what risk she would have put them at.

Daisy stood at attention, listening to what the Eldstar had to say about what was going on.
Had anyone been listening to her in particular they would hear her stifling a sigh of relief hearing that Dark Wishes were caused by Starvia victims in particular.
Had this same person been looking at her, they'd see her face puff up with concern for the stars well being now. She sympathized with the madness they were all suffering and wanted to help them.
Daisy curtsied, almost instinctively at being addressed as Princess Daisy of Sarasaland. She had to do her best not to visibly show a cringe at the recurrence of the title "Princess Rosalina"

"Ahem, actually, your Elderness, " Daisy spoke up with another curtsy "with all due respect, Rosalina's not technically a princess like Peach and me."

"As self-proclaimed 'Mother of the Lumas' I for one think she'd be more aptly addressed as... Queen Rosalina." She affirmed with a nod.1d20-1

The Luma seemed comforted by his other mama's reassurance that Rosalina would be alright. Rosalina was grateful to have Peach as a more steady support. It was not good however that the luma seemed to cause a little bit of an upset. One of the Star Spirits seemed more right in his mind than the others however. To the point he seemed to be able to offset the burden of the wishes on the others.

Rosalina was unable to really exert more attention than the one she was having for the Eldstar. As a result she could not really notice Daisy's relief and proper grasp of the situation. She was however troubled that Peach's wishes just made the Star Spirits more sick... They should of expected that when the Star Kid said they were trying to lift the burden off the Star Spirits.

There seemed to be little they can do to help the Star Spirits to that end... And Rosalina would probably be more incredulous if she was not afflicted by the atmosphere by Daisy's timing in the title thing. "Actually... It is... neither... Just Rosalina..." Rosalina mustered the strength to correct. She was beginning to feel too lightheaded to say anymore. The Luma though she knew could answer the important question. "Yes, we would love to hear your wish," The luma answered in for his star mama.

" . . . "

Eldstar just sort of stared at the group as Daisy and Rosalina corrected him. He seemed almost trapped, as if he didn't really know what to say in response to the two of them. Luckily, he didn't need to. Peach was also paying attention, and she looked back and forth between the two girls at her sides, lolling her head at the two for a moment before she interjected. "Well actually... You're all wrong." Peach would correct in a light-hearted tone. It was a tad gutsy to correct a star spirit, but her words lacked any rude overtones. She smiled at Daisy and Eldstar for a moment before turning her attention to Rosalina at her side. She beamed at the other, displaying her sweetest smile. And finally, it was time for the big reveal. They were about to find out why Peach always addressed Rosalina as a princess, after all this time. Meta drumroll, if you would.

Peach turned and pulled Rosalina into a full hug, guiding the other to meet her eyes. "...You may not have your own kingdom, but you're my princess." Peach would remark, leaning up into the other and carefully stealing a single kiss from Rosalina, a large magical heart rising from her head. Somewhere on Li, a badass promptly had a heart attack as he sensed a massive disturbance in the force. The ammount of cheese had been too much for him. Thankfully, it wasn't just a public display of affection. Peach was trying to use the power of love to give Rosalina strength. They would need it for whatever came next.

...And it seemed she'd done a phenomenal job! Eldstar waited for the moment to pass, but not too long. They did, after all, have something very important to deal with. He cleared his throat to grab the girl's attention.

"Mhm. Yes, well... At the risk of ruining the moment, we must focus on my wish for a moment, whilst I still have the freedom to give it. It is my wish that this foul darkness would stop hiding inside of us all and manifest itself here in this temple, so that our heroines here might have a chance of defeating it. That is my wish. Would you grant my wish by agreeing to participate in this battle, Star Child and company? "

That was it. This was it. Daisy's suspicions were confirmed.
She was deconfirmed for a player in Peach's game yet again. And incidentally, just like the other times, Rosalina was chosen instead.
Peach loved Rosalina after all. There were no ifs, ands, or buts about it. It was Game Over and Daisy lost.
How could the flower princess of Sarassaland ever stand a chance to compete with the cosmic princess from beyond the stars for the magical princess of the Mushroom Kingdom now? It didn't matter now.

There's nothing she could change about it. What could she say now? What could she do now? Kidnap Peach like a common Koopa?
That never worked out for Bowser. But that's different, Bowser was... But what does that make Daisy now?
She'd remain forever, the boring princess of a forgettable kingdom who nobody wants to save, that nobody even wants to kidnap.

That was all that was left for her at this point. Peach would never be hers now.
Daisy could feel her heart wilting in her chest.

Daisy could feel something welling up in her face. Something Daisy's eyes had rarely ever felt before: tears. Even her secret third eye was watering.
"T-that.. that was so..." Daisy sniffled "I'm so " she was forced to cover up the word by a sneeze properly and neatly caught in a handkerchief. "For you two."
Daisy had to keep herself under wraps. She couldn't tell Peach or Rosalina now how she truly felt about them. If she did, she would lose Peach completely forever. And even now, that simply was not worth it.  She had to do what she did best; focus on what's really important, even if she had already lost the true prize this time.

Her wish may never be granted now, but that didn't mean she couldn't grant the Eldstar's wish. His was for the greater good anyway.
"Yes we will, your Elderness." Daisy swore solemnly.

Rosalina turned her head a bit to try and see Peach as they said they were all wrong. She did not understand what Peach could possibly mean by that statement. Daisy was being technical, Eldstar was working off a guess and Rosalina told the truth. Rosalina looked at that sweet smile Peach was given in pressured confusion. The smile did make her feel better about whatever she was suggesting.

She was not exactly in a position or need to resist as Peach turned her around for a hug. Not that she would necessarily want to if she was actually feeling better. The following thing Peach said when she revealed Rosalina was her princess was... Incredibly cheesy. But it did give Rosalina a sort of warm feeling from that statement. One that was actually strong enough for her to consider through the pressure.

Then there Peach did something Rosalina was not expecting her to do. The kiss that she was too weak to go against was put upon her... Not that she was entirely sure why she would object as the kiss kind of distracted her from Daisy's problems. She will probably remember it in time but the kiss stole quite a bit of her attention as that warmth even erased the problems Rosalina was having at that moment.

Rosalina felt a lot better from that magical show of affection. "Thank you, Special One," Rosalina said appreciatively. She almost forgot about the problem at hand that kiss was so powerful. That is until Eldstar brought attention back to the issue at hand. Rosalina allowed herself to stand on her own merits now that she was feeling the power to thanks to Peach. "We will be glad to grant you your wish," Rosalina agreed with a nod. "Right, Blu?"

The Luma seemed to have spaced out for a moment after witnessing what his moms just did. His attention came back though as Rosalina addressed him. "Huh? Oh! Right! We will help... with that thing..." The Luma agreed though he seemed to miss what just happened.
