Variant Rules:

• See the risk of death below? It's not there as a joke. This thread will be cruel and unfair, even by my standards.

• There is no post order in this thread. Rather, this thread will be done in rounds similar to mirages. Every 2 weeks I will make a new GM post, and you are allowed to make a post anytime you see appropriate within those two weeks. Use your best judgment, but do not take any more actions than a single post would allow. If you fail to meet the deadline, your character may find themselves punished for it. If you are late twice without an excuse, that's it. Removal from the mission. If everyone has already posted, I may boss post early to move us along.

• If at any point in time Arle/Warle are only party members left standing for whatever reason, sudden death will occur and a victor will be chosen based on whether it's felt that the thread is worth continuing.

• As players are trophied, new characters will be allowed to replace them. However, old characters will still get counted as participants for their role. If a player decides not to replace them, a new RPer will be allowed to do so in their place.

• This mission is not first come first serve. Characters will be picked based on how appropriate they are. Characters that are very close to Arle are unlikely to be picked for the first round, as she has made a point to try not to drag loved ones down with her.

• Plot NPCs are allowed to attend. Please state their stats when joining up with them.

Mission Brief: "There's something I need to do. Something I can't ask for help with from the rest of the Magical Girl's Society. An ancient dungeon hidden near Madou Village contains the secrets to an artifact called the Seraphim Orb. I'm convinced it might be able to help Li, but I don't know how to use it properly. I need to go back and find an old friend that can teach me how, but there's no telling what could be waiting in there to try and stop me."

"What are you thinking of, Sword? Can we really trust this human?" a voice came from a large tank, echoing in the knight's mind. Concern seemed to be the emotion the knight was getting from his psychic companion.

"She is good in heart yet holds strong potential. Even if swordsmanship is not her way I feel I should try and draw out her power. And this orb interests me. She does not want companions to get hurt but I am among the strongest on this planet. I shall make sure that this goes through. If it shall help our cause, then I shall see to it," the knight replied before turning around and walking past the immobile psychic.

"And if she turns out to be a threat to our plans?"

"I have wishes on my side as well as other artifacts. If it comes to the worst, at least she can provide me a challenge," he replied before disappearing in a pink flash.

"............... What are you truly thinking, Galacta Knight?"

Hey guys! The mission has been updated with the final list of participants. As I mentioned before, only characters that actually show up get credit, so I'm afraid our dear leaders are out of luck. That being said, here's your sweet custom loot!

You completed ... every objective. And you also completed the hardest and best ending.

Other endings from better to worse included having the fused Arles turn on the group, dying to The Phantom of God, dying to Lilith, and having Arle wind up the lone survivor at any point during the mission. Those were all options you narrowly avoided.

The ending you got was to defeat Saturos and Menardi, defeat The Phantom of God, manage to avoid provoking either of the Arles into a state in which they became polarized and unable to cooperate, and then pursue a pacifist ending with Lilith in spite of Shin!Arle's resentment toward her. Practically speaking, the main difference in this ending is that tensions remain low between Arle and Shin!Arle and Lilith is now an allied NPC. But you've also earned the best possible custom reward...

Golden Apple: This succulent magic fruit from Arle's homeworld is imbued with a powerful magic force that makes whoever eats it stronger. You can feel yourself ascending to a heightened state of being from which there is no return after eating it. (Smash Medal Clone)

It has come to my attention that some of your characters already have a smash medal. For those that do, obviously multiple smash medals don't stack. So instead, you'll be receiving a mirage ticket instead! PM an admin to have a special mirage set up where you can roll for garaunteed loot, all for you!
