Mr. L listened to his surroundings through the noise. He often was working with machines so focusing in a loud environment is his speciality. Mr. L quickly jumped down and intercepted the hammer from hitting the switch before jumping back onto the back apparently not noticing Krexix, "I'll be borrowing this bro!" Mr. L called to the hammer bro. Mr. L put the hammer into his missle launcher, these hammers were nigh indestructible so being fired out of a missile launcher should not impact it. Mr. L did not have a Dry Bones to work with but he was sure it would still be affected by its K-9 like instincts. Mr. L carefully took aim and fired the hammer in an angle to not hit it but he taunted, "Go fetch, Jaws!" he called as Bowser like as he can. However, probably his unawareness being taken advantage of, he gets globbed in the back by some stuff that felt... tingly...

L's instincts immediately told him the stuff was not good as he frantically tried to get the building up glob off. It took him to the point his movements was a little slowed due to some numbness and now a little soaked pants... er, backside. Mr. L was not going to be able to move as quickly as normal with these conditions, his clothes were fast to dry but the numbness is another issue now that he was slowed. Now that L thought about it, he felt something was missing. They had Buzz Bombers and their tank weapons, but wasn't there something else? ... It was probably nothing. He had to focus more to keep his mind off the numbness, happy it didn't end up worst.1d20+4·1d20+4·1d20+3

This little green man was just too jumpy for the oerix. Kind of reminded him of some silly spider creatures always sidling and hopping around like a tease. The way to deal with them was to take away their legs; perhaps a similar thing could be done here. That was the thought behind the initial verupalsy strike with a plan to follow up with a charge. But now that the giant ball of teeth was so near and practically preparing to glomp the back end of the transport in slow motion Krexix decided he'd better not be within range of the pearly whites.

He itched to bull rush the black and green blad engineer but resisted, instead retreating further back. Pounding noises drew his attention behind him where he noticed the little turtle hurling his hammers at a specific section of the hull. At first he thought this turtle as incompetent as he spoke, but then noted the target. Why the hammer loving creature didn't climb up the rest of the way and proceed to bash it was a mystery, but with Krexix already there he figured he'd at least find out the importance of this switch.

Since the Green Thunder hadn't reacted to Krexix beyond the removal of the projectile attack the oerix shuffled along the side and stopped when he was above the switch; barely avoiding a deflected hammer in the process. To bad he didn't have the reflexes to snatch the thing in the air and make a direct smash of the switch. As substitute the oerix leaned over slightly and dug his thick taloned finger tips into the edges of the switch, pushing in with a forceful punch with hopes to tear it out. It never occurred to him to attempt using the mechanism as a simple switch.

The switch finally took effect after a brief amount of setup time. The front and rear section of the vehicle began to shift and open, revealing some sort of laser cannon that began to unfold and prepare for its main purpose. Both ends had this magnificent armaments and began to charge indicated by the energy radiating off of it. With the Hammer Brother’s equipment missing its intended target being corrected by Krexix, the machine ceased its charging, but didn’t contain itself just yet.

The Chain Chomp continued her rampage regardless of either the laser cannon or the hammer. The machine was a meal, the dinky little hammer was hardly something she would favour over the massive tank. As for the game of fetch angle, is it really that believable that Bowser would play fetch with his pets on his off time? The answer to that one was somewhat questionable, but Jaws was more trained to fight than to play. Before she could even take a nibble of the craft, something caught on her chain and stopped her from moving forward. The beastly iron ball slowly turned around to witness the shimmering crimson metal of one of Metal Knuckles, digging one of its famed knuckles into a loop in the chain.

“Targets acquired, missiles out” the metallic creature’s voice boomed as a trio of rockets launched from its back and sought out the three Hammer Bros that weren’t clung to the transit.

Each missile landed save for one that sailed directly over one of the falling Koopa’s shell and erupted against the side of the Chaotix’s building. Somewhere Vector’s pockets were tingling. The two Koopas in free fall were able to land, though one of them was a trophy by that time. The remaining soldier began to do what he did best, toss hammers at the new enemy.

The Koopa on the roof finally got hit by the rocket careening toward his face, unfortunately that promotion was not coming any time soon. He needed some more of those green vegetables. That or a four leaf clover, might be something to invest in. Regardless, the creature got back up and continued to lob hammers at the transport while it was still within range, aiming most specifically for Mr. L, but he’s have to be really lucky to land that.

As for the one that was latched onto the vehicle for the second time in a row, he began to climb the rest of the way up as his weapon was apprehended by the enemy. “Hey that was my hammer, bro! Heh, I said it” he shouted before giggling about the happenstance of his words. Once the creature settled his stance on the top of the platform he focused on his alien partner for a brief moment and then back at the cannon that had recently revealed itself. “Okay bro, you knockout green pansy, I got the laser cannon over ‘ere” the Koopa announced as he raced off to tear up his quarry.

As the vehicle continued to move, Mr. L should notice something about the road. There seemed to be some sort of gas or oil trailing from underneath the vehicle. Given that he hadn’t seen the Spiny sneak under there earlier he probably wouldn’t know the cause just yet. That Spiny seemed to be doing a majority of the work considering that the other three were either nowhere to be seen or stuck on a wall somewhere and unable to get out. The same could be said about the Lakitu, but the goggle wearing Koopa was the one coordinating everything, so he at least had an excuse.

Mr. L was quick to react to the hammer that he was so used to dodging. However, mid dodge, he noticed something on the road. A bunch of... fluids? Where did that come from... Wait! That Spiny from earlier that disappeared! It must be under the Transit. How would he possibly get to it without harming the Transit though? Mr. L decided there was only one thing in his arsenal he could use in a time like this. Mr. L shot a Green Storm Vortex to prevent the Hammer Bro from hammering the cannon by forcing him to hold on to the Transit to avoid being drawn away before jumping down... Mr. L ran along the side of the Transit in his slowed state and fired another Green Storm to draw the Spiny out from under there.

Head turning to the changes in the vehicle a tingle went down his spine. That would need to be dealt with. Luckily the little turtle knew of this and was going for it, leaving Krexix to deal with Mr. L. Perfect.

Standing the oerix activated his camouflage once again and made his way slowly around the transport to come in at Mr. L from his side. The 'hero' was frantically moving around but near as fast as he had been. This brought a curl of a smile to the alien's face. Krexix noted the green storm flaring up around the hammer bro but other than noting the ability and assuming its effect he paid little attention, using the little time he had in his hidden state to position himself around the green man. Unfortunately despite his slowed state Krexix was still a bit slower thanks to his leg. Something he needed to 'thank' Mr. L for.

In the last few feet, coming up at an angle to Mr. L's back, the camo wore off and Krexix bolted forward with a growl. His attack was nothing fancy. The large spiney monster lashed out with his talons a couple times aiming at nothing in particular except to hit the annoying engineer.

Jaws became enraged by the metal anteater that was yanking on her chain, her eyes furrowed and narrowed on the mechanical being as it growled and charged. The speed of a Chain Chomp was never something impressive, but when such a beast was chasing you down it seemed a lot quicker than it actually was. Something about that gigantic set of teeth had a paralyzing amount of intimidation. The sound of metal grinding and clanking echoed through the air as the beast attempted to chase down its target.

Metal Knuckles calculated the time that it had to dodge the pseudo dog and it didn’t seem to have the best odds. Objective number one was to pin the creature down, that way it couldn’t attack its creator’s machine. The crimson android tightened its grip around the beast’s leash and punched it into the ground, burying it fairly deep into the pavement. If anything it would holdup the creature for a little while and every moment they had to distract the thing was precious. In the robot’s efforts though, the beast was able to ram it with her iron dome of a head, launching it quite a distance away. Its built in rockets halved the distance and allowed the machine to return to the battle in no time, firing off another round of rockets to finish off the minions.

The Hammer Bros seemed to be fairly helpless against being blindsided by the synthetic echidna’s missiles. This time not a one of them missed, taking out the last of the Koopa’s that had to face Onaga’s rampage. The Koopa still on the roof was able to recover after the blast, though showed inherent signs of weakness. The critter could hardly even lob his hammers with accuracy anymore, so he pulled out his walkie talkie and seconds later was picked up by the Lakitu. The cloud riding Koopa then began to hover a couple of yards above the transport, his movements seeming quite odd and suspicious, like he birthed a new plan.

As for the poor Hammer Bro, he had been targeted by not one but both of the beings protecting the land craft. His head swung both ways, noticing the rocket coming to burst open his shell and the vortex to toss the remaining pieces of him like a salad. The turtle had to make some sort of last ditch effort, so he gripped his tiny mallet and flung it at the cannon before being obliterated. The hammer cleared the gap between the gun and the door way that swung open to reveal it, missing completely. He was never a good shot.

The fight continued on, off the transit yet again. It seemed like déjà vu. The green man suspected the oil trail to be the working of a Spiny that was underneath the metallic transport and he was correct. The little bugger stabbed his back spikes into the undercarriage of the vehicle, seeming to be quite stuck and being drenched in the substance he was causing to spill. The creature tucked itself nicely behind a wheel well where no one could see him or reach him for that matter. Unless they wanted to take their chances of sticking their arm in between the two rollers. If they played their cards wrong their arm would be flattened like a crepe thanks to the wheels being solid metal. The tiny tornado that Mr. L sent out was not at the correct spot in order to suck the creature in, even then the creature was well grounded.

As for the rest of the Spinies, they cheered on their larger spiky companion, watching from the sidelines since they couldn’t free themselves from the walls they were latched against.

Huh, that Spiny seems to be stuck in there pretty well. Now how was he supposed to take care of that Spiny when he can't get to it. His train of thought is broken however when he notices that recently familiar face out of the corner of his eye. However still being slowed down by the numbing Mr. L still takes the majority of the blow. Getting knocked back throughly, Mr. L took another look at the strange alien. This guy clearly had some vendetta against him and ignoring him did not seem to be working very well. Time the green and black masked engineer actually started paying some attention to him.

A large majority of the threats seemed to be taken care of, the Lakitu, Hammer Bro and Krexix were the most major. The Chain Chomp was also pretty bad but using heavy artillery on it may risk hitting his only ally left. And if the Spiny was stuck its not like he can cause much more damage than he already did. First things first, the cannon and Krexix. Mr. L shot a missile at Krexix as he made his way back to the switch. The switch itself may not be functional but it still might be connected to the cannon. Mr. L with this in mind, shot a Green Storm into the switch's area to supply energy to it with the Green Storm's electricity.1d20+2

With his swipes landing on his opponent Krexix's heart began pounding. Harder, warmer, faster, he was in his element. The pain in his leg dropping to a mere ebb in the background as the beast moved along with Mr. L. The little man was beginning to get predictable. Noting the familiar physical cues Krexix's battle instincts kicked in to alert him of the coming rocket.

The oerix dropped and rolled to the side of his good leg, coming up in a crouch to see the smokey tail of the rocket veiling the retreating figure of the engineer. An eager smile crept on the alien's face, his elytra flicking open and wings began buzzing. Krexix lunged forward in a great leap. As the little green man stopped to fire his electric tornado into the panel he may notice a shadow swiftly eclipsing his position. Krexix was coming down hard, clearing aiming to bring one of his leg blades down in a great cleave.

Jaws continued her rampaging romp toward her target despite Metal Knuckles not being there anymore until her chain jerked her backwards. The end of her chain was dug a fair ways down, meaning she only had a limited amount of distance she could unleash her rage upon. Unfortunately, that meant that she was out of range of the transport completely. Although that did not mean she was out of play just yet. She barreled toward the side of one of the nearby buildings and chomped a section of it clean off, upchucking the remnants at the transport like a cannon.

The Lakitu finally initiated his plan, dropping the Hammer Bro to the mechanical vehicle below. The last of the bros held a handful of hammers in between his arms and poured them down upon the area of the vehicle that he was accelerating toward, the rear cannon. Once the army of hammers had left the turtle’s grasp, he reverted into his shell and now dropping like a cannon ball.

The cloud operating turtle did not have so much as a moment to laugh at his operation as the crimson machine rammed straight through his cloud based vehicle, casing the reptile quite a bit of turbulence. The creature couldn’t stay afloat like this, so he steered his cloud car directly onto the roof of one of the neighboring buildings. The turtle pulled out a pair of spinies and inspected the skyline, waiting for the mechanical creature to return. It was quite a stealthy little bugger, but he wasn’t going to allow some robotic abomination ruin his plans.

As for the vehicle itself, it could be doing better. It was leaking fluids all over the place and there was a ton of debris headed its way, but Mr. L delivered a jolt of energy into its systems. It was an uncontrolled amount since it was just straight up electricity, but since it wasn’t enough to outright kill a living being it could be assumed it was not enough to overload its systems. Both cannons began to glow once more, radiating electricity and plasma, preparing to fire off something powerful. So long that it could successfully charge this time around.

Dr. Eggman’s spire loomed over the horizon, its magnificent and technological design outshining the rest that neighbored it. Once the escorts were in closer vicinity they would be home free, for now though they were still in the thick of things. The ones coming to stop it though, this mean that it was indeed go time. If they had any last resorts to go upon it would be wise to use it now.

Mr. L looked back to notice the Eggman Spire. It was almost time, wait, hasn't it gotten darker? Looking up, Mr. L notices he is almost about to get crushed by what is basically, compared to himself, a falling tank. Attempting to roll out of the way, his numbness once again got to him as his legs still get caught under the thing though his roll untraps them. Ouch, he was seriously starting to get sloppy in this fight. Did not help he had to focus on everything at once... Speaking of everything at once... His work was really cut out for him. Well, only one thing to pit against buildings being spit at the tank like water melon seeds and falling hammers. Using one hand he points in Jaws' direction and uses his other to trap the hammers in another vortex. "I summon Brobot L-Type in!Defense Mode!f" Mr. L says as if he was playing a childern's card game as the Brobot fell out of nowhere and intercepted the buildings with his incredible armor and firing its barrage of missles and lasers in return at Jaws as it tanked the debris until it eventually overheated and explode as it walked forward to try and hit the Chain Chomp in the explosion.

Fluttering excitement in the heat of battle rippled through every muscle upon the landing. It was perhaps this feeling that convinced Krexix not to attempt a grapple on the escaping engineer; preferring a bit of a chase. With the whir of the charging canon being drawn to his attention though it was perhaps time to attempt an ending to this. With Mr. L distracted by the barrage from every seeming angle Krexix was given time to flare up his battle rage.

The flesh beneath his natural armor burned a bright red, his temperature escalating to dangerous levels for both others and, in due time, himself. The waving aura mixed with the contorted activation of his camouflage made him appear as a bright quivering object with no distinct form and hard to focus on. With a snarling cry he charged forward. His paralyzing spittle dripped uncontrollably from his mouth making for the smallest movements to send the substance spattering in various directions.

It wasn't exactly the most tactical of approaches, but Krexix preferred the straight forward brawl. His wings were readied to aid in quick movements as he set upon Mr. L. What attack exactly was coming was hard to discern visually, but the engineer would have a pretty good instinct that it wouldn't be pleasant. Just being near the creature would be uncomfortable, let alone the slash from the claws and follow-up grapple to bring Mr. L in nice and close for another gentle crushing hug from a fire.

Jaws began an uproar, becoming impatient with watching the fight instead of actually being within it. Fear not though, it would seem as though a large robotic being was coming her way. Finally, something to sink her teeth into that wasn’t concrete or lizard. She charged at the machine, aiming to kill and whether or not she had a big part in it, the Brobot did die in the end. The death of the machine brought a devastating explosion however, which put her at a daze for a couple seconds. The iron skin of the mighty beast was being to chip away after that one.

The suicide Hammer Bro found his descent to be not as easy as he expected it to. Instead of being greeted with the harsh and possibly death bringing impact with the cannon of the transport, he was met with a spiraling tornado that swept him up and spun him right round. In addition to that, it was like he was in a rinse cycle with the hammers that he dropped with, his shell being battered and beaten to the point that simple torture would be a much more preferable mode of death. It wasn’t the end just yet.

The electrical engineer’s volt treatment to the core of the machine was just enough for it to charge the egg patented vehicle and finally its laser cannons were prepped to fire. The tesla coils on both ends of the machine began to glow like the moon, bringing light to the shady alleys and all nearby buildings. It was quite the impressive light show. The glow quickly unleashed, an explosion of plasma light firing off in both directions. Anything that was in front of or behind the transport were going to quickly regret that they were.

The Hammer Bro trapped within the vortex was directly above the laser blasts, and in fact was absorbed by the light and instantly vaporized. He’s probably not going to get that promotion after all. As for the Chain Chomp, she only snapped out of her state of stupor to be seared by the focused blast of energy. Bringing both those threats down in a single swoop.

As the beam dissipates, there’s a bit of white noise. Only the sounds of Mr. L and Krexix’s fight continues, that and the cheers from the Spiny peanut gallery.

The metallic echidna returned to battlefield once more, impacting against the pavement as though it was a meteor. Its spot of landing was calculated to be somewhat near the backside of the extra-terrestrial monster. “Target acquired” the beastly bot stated as it unleashed a missile upon the opponent.

The Lakitu finally brought down its guard after the blast from below, peering over the edge of the roof as the battle seemed to fall immensely outside of his wager. Fortunately, the mercenary was still playing his role well. In rage, the reptile tossed a couple more of his spiky minions onto the battlefield, hoping that they wouldn’t get stuck in a wall this time around. Their trajectory is a bit different this time around, aiming for beside the cargo vehicle instead of directly atop it.

Mr. L could finally feel his numbness go away and his pants were dry at last. And just in time as he looks back and sees some sort of distortion charging at him as well as some strange heat radiating from it. Well, the safe bet is Krexix is probably the distortion. And Krexix has already made it quite clear that he had no good intent for Mr. L. Mr. L notices the beam finally fire and decides to put his agility back to use. As Krexix charged at him, Mr. L went into his usual back breaking position and released as he sent himself far into the air before Krexix could hit him. As he flew he noticed spinies being tossed down. He fired a Green Storm to intercept the spinies as he reached the Lakitu's height and attempted to land a Green Thunder punch on the Lakitu while he was up here.1d20+4

Once again the slippery man slunk out from underneath Krexix to jump away. Though this time it wasn't so much like an acrobatic monkey but a mighty leap into the sky. The oerix watched his opponent swiftly ascend toward the clouds, snarling angrily as the escape. Even if he did attempt a leap after Mr. L Krexix's jump just wasn't as impressive.

The distraction and general frustration left the oncoming missile unnoticed. The next thing the oerix knew was something contacting his back and erupting into an explosion that sent him from the transport. The pain was rather blinding. Krexix was forced out of his ultimate, unable to maintain the bodily stress while starting to white out upon contact with the pavement. By sheer force of will the alien was able to cling to consciousness, but he wasn't about to get back into action any time soon.

Krexix rolled himself onto his side and began the blurred process of slowly standing up as the transport continued on to the tower.

The trajectory of the Spiny creatures were at an angle in which they avoided the whirlwind set up by the green clad vigilante, allowing them to safely land directly behind the tank. The duo began to scuttle toward the underbelly of the transit vehicle in order to tear their way through the undercarriage. They were stopped by the screeching of their wall mounted brethren. Their squawks between one another was fairly non-descript as no one in the area probably knew how to speak their native tongue. Their tiny heads turned toward the fallen Krexix and their path instantly changed to scurry to his side.

After the success of the robot’s missile, Metal Knuckles ascended into the sky at a fast pace and locked its optics onto the alien being. It paused in the air for a brief moment to access the glow of the beast’s body disappearing, which allowed the machine to enter its preferred method of combat, directly. There weren’t many threats left on the field and taking out one of the main combatants in this conflict would win them a huge favour.

Metal Knuckles prepared its trademark fists and began to accelerate toward the weakened oerix. As the android anteater came closer to its target, a spiky red ball was thrown at its faceplate impaling it directly in its main visionary sensors. This caused the machine to quickly reroute and crash into the side of a nearby building.

This left one last Spiny as the other one that went on a crash course with Metal Knuckles more than likely wasn’t walking away from that. The tiny shelled creature nudged the leg of Krexix, not really being able to do much more. “C’mon! We can still take that thing out! It’s on its last leg!” the reptile squeaked as it marched off to try and catch up with the vehicle. Unfortunately, they were both on similar levels of slow.

The Lakitu peered over the ledge of the building to try and make out what its minions were doing now. As the being tried to scope out the battlefield though, a certain green clad plumber launched himself at him like he was watching a 3-D movie. He leapt backwards as a systematic reaction avoiding the quick little bugger. In a swift motion the turtle pulled out another pair of spinies from… places. He held the tiny creatures like boxing gloves, but did not do anything with them just yet.

“Luigi! We don’t have to do this! We can stop Eggman right here and Bowser will get the upper hand! Bowser agrees with Mario on this one, we gotta attack the Starvia directly, he wants to help!” the Lakitu pleaded.
