The bright blessed day was soon transitioning to a dark sacred night. The sun was leaving the skyline, a vibrant orange tint following in its wake. This was the perfect time for Dr. Eggman’s plans to begin. It was no longer day, so the amount of citizens clogging the streets would be significantly less and it wasn’t night just yet so criminal activity wouldn’t spike up just yet. The transport truck slowly rolled out of the laboratory, going at its moderate speed. The battle cruiser wasn’t made for speedy operations it was made to take hits and getting up close and personal would make light of that.

The horde of Buzz Bombers quickly ascended into the sky as the tank was exposed, keeping their guard up and monitoring the surroundings for any possible threats. Given that they were just leaving Samus’s laboratory it was unlikely that anyone would jump them. The lab itself was a sort of symbol of hope for most and the technology within it was not something that any of the Gang Lords wanted to tamper with. They all wanted to see the Life Sphere flourish so it would be a misstep to damage such a precious building.

The duo that sided with the Doctor would still be within the building, recently finished with their briefing on the mission. The two would probably see it wise to get outside as quickly as possible if they valued the mission’s success, whether it be that they preferred Eggman’s motives or they just wanted the gifts that came with their success.

With the Egg Vehicle just pulling out of the garage, there should be no issues just yet. Like the calm of war, certain doom was going to be offered they just didn’t know when or where. Hopefully doom was not what this train was heading for.

Meanwhile upon the roof of the Chaotix office building, a group of Koopa began to gather at the center. One had a pair of binoculars hanging around his neck and he quietly told them all to get close. “Tell everyone to get into their positions, the truck is moving” he commanded his lesser grunts. He then turned to a duo of helmet wearing turtles. “You two, meet up with Krexix and stay low until we get the signal.”

“Yo yo” they both answered in sync.

READY? GO!

Luckily, the only big problem for the koopa troupe was that they would have some major trouble with trying to get near enough to do any significant damage, because if that koopa was ready to begin the assault, they would have a dragon to pick a fight with, and by the looks of it, he did not notice that the Outworld Dragon was in the immediate vicinity, it would seem as though Bowser would finally be beside himself if he knew there was another like him that could breathe fire out of his gullet.

"I guess I should be ready to get through this, After all... It would be a shame if this mission is lost due to some group of turtles that I can easily make meals out of when I feel like it." Onaga said, he was reluctant in taking up such a quest, and hoped that his client's adversary would be as stubborn as he himself was. Of course Onaga was a monsterous dragon, so that would play into his hands the moment the transport was ready to head for its destination, though with Bowser's minions and an Oerix in it to keep the convoy from reaching E. Gadd, it would be the type of thing that would never be tollerated, especially by someone who had the best intimidation factor in the fighting biz.

Mr. L was ready for this. His partner looked powerful and Mr. L has had years of experience fighting koopas under Luigi's belt so hopefully that has transferred. Mr. L was already walking with the vehicle that needed transporting. "Okay, Dragon Guy, I'll help with any machinery issues, you just keep you focus on destroying the enemy,' Mr. L suggested since he doubted the dragon had any experience with robotics.

Mr. L figured that somebody might of chosen Bowser's side but of course he did not know much. He did know however the threat of Hammer Bros were high. Hammer Bros were the most elite of Bowser's forces and were often a force to be reckoned with. Mr. L was sort of dimmed down by the speed of the transit. Mr. L was one of the fastest in the Life Sphere after coming here, rivaling speedsters like Captain Falcon and Sonic. Mr. L still stayed observant.

The expectation of this night bristled the stiff long spines composing the majority of his back as he scaled the designated building. For a ways he had done things properly but only so far as he was willing to quietly scout the immediate area of the meeting place from various heights. He didn't think he had raised any suspicion or alarms. Didn't even see anyone in the nearby alleys which had been a slight disappointment. He could have used a warm up. Instead climbing the hard way would have to provide his muscles with the stretching exercise.

Once his talons curled themselves into the first touch of the roof he prepped for a final lunge upward, proving to be surprisingly quiet considering his bulk. Until he landed in a heave. He knew who was up here and had no worries of making noise at this distance elsewhere. Pleased, he took the few moments the pair of hammer bro were given instructions to flex and ensure nothing was strained.

Now it was show time. Or rather, the final stages of preparation: positioning. The Oerix' heart beat hastened. He and the two hammer bros began their travel to their ambush point. This was where the compact design of the Life Sphere raised annoyances. So few places to settle in for something such as this. Luckily this place was made from molded scraps, which made it less than perfect in almost any respect. Krexix made for a cover on an escape staircase, wrenching off the head of an exhaust pipe along his way.

Krexix laid in wait, torn metal in hand and itching to activate his camouflage and soar into the coming battle.

The transport began to slowly veer away from Samus’s Laboratory, the crunch of pebbles echoing from underneath the heavy vehicle’s multiple wheels. It should be an eerie feeling to anyone to hear or rather not hear any noise arising from the Life Sphere as a whole. Someone could possibly pick up the sound of a coin dropping a mile away. That is unless that somebody was next to the Egg truck, it was quite the noisy machine, engines flaring like it was a monster truck reeving up.

The cyber bees collected in a swarm above the battle ready tractor trailer, analyzing each crevasse and possible hiding place as they passed by. There was plenty of space between the nearest cluster of buildings and Samus’s Laboratory, so there was enough open space to set up a sense of calm before the storm. It was tension that could be cut with a blunt weapon. The truck was closing in on the first nearest cluster to Samus’s Workshop, one that housed Team Chaotix office building. From Eggman’s army’s perspective there was nothing to be observed, not yet. All they could do for the time being was stay close and be aware for the possible sneak attack. In the meantime, an inspection of the tank was possibly the best option since a quiet time was best to make sure that all weapons were functional and ready for use at a moment’s notice.

The alien didn’t hesitate to make his presence known to the duo, in fact he basically sprang up the side of the building the moment that they were assigned to search for him. It was rather convenient for the two of them, but as soon as they found him he raced off to the assigned seating without them. They rushed to Krexix’s side, one of them seeming to be out of breath whence he arrived. They both hid behind the fire escape, their shells slowly sliding down the wall as they lazily sat in anticipation.

The one that was panting looked over to his companion and whispered in hushed tones. “Bro, Bowser better have the best brewskis if he thinks we’ll put up with this”

“Bro, don’t diss the king, of course he has the best brewskis. We got this. Now pound it” the other Hammer Bro whispered back as he readied his knuckles for a fist bump from his brother from another mother. As their fists collided they pulled their hands away flailing them about while making a low toned explosion sound. “Yo, alien dude, you wanna get in on this action? It might take a bit before that battle cruiser gets over here.”

Onaga kept his dragon eyes on the large transport, he was airborn and focused on nothing more than seeing this transport reaching its destination.

And if he had to take down some turtles to do it, so be it.

"This will be something, especially since there are plenty of morons out there who won't take too kindly to us." Onaga said, his eyes on the transport but his ears open for anything unusual that wasn't him, his partner, the Buzz Bombers, or the transport.

Mr. L determined that Onaga should keep a good enough watch. L decided inspecting the transport to make sure its functional would be a good idea while they had free time. He jumped onto the transport and started hopping around it and stopping at any part that may matter to inspect it with his plumber acrobatics and engineering skills. If they were to protect this thing it had to be in good shape.

Unlike his original self, Mr. L was exceptionally skilled in the art of Robotics and Engineering. He was sure that with Onaga's brute strength and his engineering skills they should be able to do this. It would obviously be harder to repair the vehicle while fighting so doing so now would be smart. Its a good thing he brought his lucky tools like his wrench. The noise was no problem for the engineer plumber, loud environments and noises were common in both Luigi's past and Mr. L's time with the Brobot and Brobot L-type.

[Cielmira]

The echoing crackles of the target made it feel more like home as Krexis mulled over openings. He wasn't sure what sort of signal this group had in mind which made it necessary to plan for multiple openings. In his thoughts he lightly ticked a toe against the metal grating of the staircase. The Hammer Bros had a different idea of how to prepare for the launch of the attack. He half turned his head to divert a small amount of attention to observing them. His immediate response was a sort of snort, followed by the words, "Good thing for you it will take long," in his deep scratchy voice. The unsocialized alien then resumed his figuratively isolated state after the comment of his allies stamina for running short distances.

Again he went to reviewing tactics from his war days. Though those were mostly in space and very little was done on planet. He ignored his actual lack of field experience with tanks the like, and focused on drillings and common sense; plus that one time out of desperation an enemy soldier piloted such a vehicle in hopes of sending them all spiraling into the black vacuum. When it came to this behemoth's maneuverability Krexix expected there would be little he could do to hamper it and would have to rely on Bowser's men for that. Perhaps already there was someone scampering through the sewage ready to pop up underneath and cripple the turtle pace of the machine crawling into the streets. This left the auto defenses and those patrolling its perimeter.

Krexix paused his continuous run of scenarios in his head to again regard the pair sitting nearby psyching themselves for what was to come. "You take out the flying insects?" While indeed it was an inquiry, the hushed gruffness of his voice made it sound more like a statement of fact. He needed to know what the koopa's plans were so he could accommodate. Though it flashed through his mind that the pair weren't exactly the ones to plan heavily in advance.

Robotnik’s caravan began to slowly creep into the streets of the city cluster, the shadows of the tall buildings and housing units enveloped the crew the further they went into the collection of structures. Once again, not a soul was roaming the streets, except for a Goomba facing the door of the Chaotix’s office building. The tiny brown figure seemed to be mumbling to himself about something. He waddled around in a sort of pacing manner, seeming to be impatient about something. He took a short glance at the transport as it began to approach the office building, but considering how noisy the mechanism was it seemed like a necessity to at least look at it.

The Buzz Bombers locked their optics onto the Goomba, but did not make any sort of approach toward the chestnut until they were otherwise informed to. It was part of their programing to attack any minions of either Bowser or K. Rool, but the creature’s allegiance had yet to be seen so it was considered a civilian until they were either commanded by their company to attack or if he made any sort of hostile attempt. One of the Buzz Bombers flew toward Onaga. “There is a Goomba unit just up ahead, what is your command?”

As for Mr. L, he didn’t detect any sort of malfunction in the vehicle when scoping out its systems. It just came out of the shop so it should be at its top condition. One thing that should be noted by the expert engineer was that Eggman’s technology was somewhat different than the technology that the Mushroom Kingdom was able to produce. It was something to be cautious of if he was ever needed to do field repairs. Another thing that he would notice is the fact that there is no driver and that everything is being controlled through other means than the input of any sort of organic creature, but working with Eggman it should probably be expected.

One of the Hammer Bros erupted into laughter as the alien questioned if they were the ones to take out the robotic insects. “Bro, if anything survives what we’re throwing at them it won’t be the flying scrap metal” the non-laughing one answered fairly arrogantly. The one that was nearly at the point of shedding tears nudged his partner and loudly questioned “Is this guy for real?”

Suddenly the sound of static overpowered the Koopa’s laughing fit. One of the Hammer Bros pulled out a walkie talkie and held it up to his ear (Wherever their ears were). The call was easily loud enough for Krexix to hear. “Our scout has spotted their vehicle nearby, ready weapons for operation Black Out the Sun”

“Mission accomplished, bro. The sun’s already set” the two Koopas looked proud of themselves and fist bumped yet again for a job well done.

“…Is Krexix there?”

“Sure is!”

“Please hand him the walkie talkie and never ask for it back”

The Hammer Brother hopped onto his feet and held out the tiny device for their ally in arms to take. “The boss man wants you to take this, probably because you’re gonna need it. Don’t worry about us, we can do things on our own pretty well, right bro?!”

“YEYEAH” the other Koopa answered while fist pumping.

Thanks to the buzz bomber, Onaga felt reassured, but also did not want to take any risks.

"Inform Green thunder{Mr. L} to be on alert for koopa troupe units. I've got an idea." Onaga said, landing in front of the Goomba and grabbing it, gripping the walking mushroom tightly in his talons and taking to the skies. "Can't have you warning any turtles, so I'll use you as a Hostage until we reach the destination point, though after we get there, you won't be able to tell any of those turtles of your situation or the circumstances of why you were held as a hostage. If you tell, I will find you, and I will end your game for the sake of maintaining stability in this realm." Onaga told the goomba, who would now be afraid of what would happen, even if he DID survive, he wouldn't wanna be around if he had to contend with a beastly dragon with murderous intent.

Well, it seems like there was no mistakes or anything. Mr. L did not do his work In the Mushroom Kingdom but in other Dimensions. Though, now that the Green Thunder thinks about it, a lot of the robotics in his universe was actually driven by a pilot. There was some robots however that had no such pilot and were powered and ran purely by AI. He has actually used such robots before so he knew how they functioned, so a vehicle version shouldn't be much different. Besides, L had plenty of free time while waiting for this night to do some research on the Doctor's works. The majority of them were powered by cute animals like these buzz bombers called Badniks. Then there were the later Egg Pawns that did not run by such power. There were also some robots that were apparently left forgotten for some strange reason. There was also various aircrafts Eggman have used, so this should be somewhat easier despite not having personal experience with Eggman's work. That said, it will still be harder but due to planning ahead it should be more possible to not screw up as if he did not do research.

Mr. L looked up from his work to notice a Goomba sitting in front of the building of that Crocodile and Bee. It was probably a spy for Bowser, but he was sure Onaga could handle it. Goombas were easily the weakest of Bowser's vast army, easily being defeated by pretty much any means and tend to not be too smart with how often they will just march off a cliff to their doom. Anyway, with L's checkup done and the realization the enemy may know their position L decided to take action. And by take action, of course that means just sitting on the vehicle in wait and keeping an eye out for any Koopas or other minions of Bowser's army.

Their laughing response was greatly confusing, which helped soothe the bubble of anger of where their laughter was directed. Perhaps he phrased it awkwardly. Or he used the incorrect noun for the buzzing robots scouting the vehicle. Krexix resisted standing up and attempting to intimidate the smaller creators with his mass in order to cease the incessant noise. He didn't want to risk being spotted prematurely should he lose focus on the target.

Bowser's timing was fortuitous. The oerix instead settled himself with a wringing motion of the short pipe in his hands. He listened, paying more attention to tone of voice and particular words for summary, his attention peaked when his name was spoken. The radio was a bit gawky in his taloned hands compared to the pipe, but it was accepted nevertheless. Now he wished he had been paying attention to its operation. The device seemed simple enough, somewhat familiar.

The Goomba continued to hobble back and forth seemingly unmindful toward the futuristic craft that was head his way. “Damn Chaotix, they said they were open at all hours of business. My cat…” before he could finish his sentence, the tiny chestnut was swept up by Onaga. Switching from a very slow pacing speed to the swift one that the reptilian was flying at was not an easy transition. The tiny brown creature was wailing in absolute terror, its giant mouth never shutting. As well, he was in a panicked squirm similar to that of a worm that was just recently cut in half. “Turtles?! Wha- what turtles? Look, I didn’t see nothing! I’ll pay whatever you want me to!” he shrieked in absolute shock as he peered at the ground one more time to observe the distance of his drop.

As the terrorizing of the Goomba was going on, one of the hammer bros peeked their head out to investigate the commotion. He saw the scaly figure of Onaga with a tiny brown figure within his arms, apparently taking the creature on a joy ride. The yellow skinned turtle couldn’t keep his beak shut at this point, he returned into a state of uproarious laughter and returned to his normal seating position. “OMG bro! You gotta see this, the dragon guy is giving a Goomba a test flight!”

“Dude! No way! Where’d the Goomba come from?”

“I don’t know, man, bro, that’s the funniest part!”

Just then, the walkie talkie began to rattle in Krexix’s claw. “One of them is distracted! Move out now!” the voice roared. The two hammer bros quickly got back onto their feet and sprinted toward the edge of the building. It wasn’t too hard to spot the transit considering that it was taking up half of the street. They were not the only group of hammer bros though. Just as the broski duo reached the edge of the roof a similar group appeared on every nearby building. All of them had a hammer ready in hand and charging their throw.

Suddenly a white cloud descended from the skies and settled at the center of the buildings. A Lakitu popped out of the white fluff of his transportation. He peered at all his troops as he pulled a spiny out of his cloud’s storage. “Black out the sun!” he announced as he threw the red spikey shell downwards. Not a second afterwards, a hailstorm of the Koopas’ hammers rained upon the streets below. The Lakitu quickly fled from the scene yet again.

Krexix’s walkie talkie rung once more. “You know who Luigi is right? Ah, doesn’t matter, there a human down there protecting that vehicle. Take him out by any means necessary.”

Back on the streets though, the raining weapons came down harshly. The spiny was the first to land and it did right in front of the transport. It began to scuttle toward one of the wheels immediately after it steadied itself on the ground. As for the hammers, they first pelted through the horde of Buzz Bombers, two came out uninjured, but one was unfortunate enough to get a hammer head directly into its face. That left very few hammers to bounce against the transport, but before that can happen Mr. L might be able to prevent any damage. Though the falling tools don’t look as though they would do much damage to the transport’s thick hide.

"I get it, yer lookin fer your pet, but the group ya went to ain't home or are busy with other matters, right." Onaga said, placing the fanged mushroom on the building as the assault was started.

"Stay there, don't want you gettin' caught in the middle of the fight. And I was jokin' 'bout takin' ya as a hostage, and killing ya would get me in trouble with a certain playtoy robot. Though I was serious about what I said about maintaining the balance here." The dragon said as he launched a volley of fireballs from his mouth 'sniper style' at a few Hammer Bros. to put them out of commission on a permanent basis and at the same time, flew to where he was above the transport so any hammers thrown would bounce off of him rather than bounce off the transport, which would be greeted with more fireballs as Onaga was quite a pronounced figure with his pyro-based projectile assault.

Mr. L was glad that Onaga was out of his rash nature. The goomba was apparantly a civilian, guess Chaotix being on Bowser's side made him a little paranoid. He completely forgot there was goombas who did not side with Bowser, though he does wonder what Team Chaotix is doing right now, there was no time to think about that. The material of the craft could probably withstand hammers well considering Hammer Bros have hit Bowser's wooden tanks without casuality so he doubted they would be much of a threat.

The Spiny however was a differant story considering he wasn't sure how durable Eggman's tiring system would be against spikes. Mr. L jumped quickly off the tank and right in front of the spiny. Mr. L bent down in a normally back breaking stance before releasing to do a Spring Jump and uppercut the Spiny back at the Lakitu, canceling the jump so he could land quickly. The Spring Jump was not the best at horizontal distance and L was probably better suited to fight from the ground. Onaga can handle the air, since he can fly he would probably be better than L in the air anyway, besides, the transit needed ground support as well, and L being an engineer of sorts, staying closer to the transit was important.
