Evening in downtown Life Sphere didn’t offer much to most people. The civilians usually confined themselves to their apartments, houses, whatever place they called home during the night. Most avoided the streets at dusk despite the harsh clutch that the law enforcers placed on thievery and other sinful deeds. The Gangs were still a very real threat even if they avoided damage to civilian property, but most just wanted nothing to do with them and tried not to get involved as much as possible. Starvia or not, those people were once the least trustworthy and most power hungry that any of their universes had to offer.

The Police station itself was relatively quiet on the outside. Not a lot of activity, which should be expected. King K Rool had only requested an audience with the chief of police and nothing more. Being that he is K Rool though, they felt the need for extra back up in the case that his chat with them was not as peaceful as he made it out to be. Being that there had been rumours around the street that he was planning to bust in and take what he needed from them, they weren’t taking their chances. They even did a background check on the two hired help. Amaterasu was a no brainer, she’d fought with K Rool’s minions before. The Black Mage fellow was a bit sketchier, but he seemed well off enough that they could handle him if he did rebel.

The front doors laid open for the two to enter. A duo of toads were guarding the entrance, both with a fire flower in hand (for some reason in this universe they acted differently than their used to). They stood there like sentries and probably wouldn’t react if they were tampered with. Right past the entrance was a small waiting room. It wasn’t colourful, outfitted with a lot of greys, but when the apocalypse was right around the corner colour schemes weren’t immediately on anyone’s mind. A couple of stray chair were scattered around the room and a Plexiglas window separated the toad at the front desk from anyone in the room for safety reasons. The toad himself was typing away at a keyboard in front of his person, no doubt his job was never a dull moment.

Padding along the pathway up to the entrance of the prison, he tail swaying with her trotting motion, Amaterasu slowed to gaze at the guards when she was near. Without resistance she was allowed passage and the Toad's opened the door for the canine to enter. A bit of a downside of being a quadruped with no thumbs. If it had been a push door she would have been fine. Happily she gave a soft bark to them and entered the building.

Upon entering she took a second to observe the area, recalling directions she had been given previously for the place. Amaterasu shortly set of toward the front desk after taking a moment to shake her body and scratch her left ear. It was a wonder how she gets confused when others don't immediately recognize her high stature after witnessing such a typical canine action. The sun goddess' divine instrument hovered in its usual spot above her back, likely as invisible as her beads and godly markings to everyone in the room. Perhaps today she would be surprised and meet someone who believed in gods. Someone capable of perceiving her true form and be recognized properly for it.

The white wolf, upon reaching the counter of the toad, proceeded to stand on her back legs and put her paws on the desk. Expectantly Ammy stared at the mushroom kingdom resident.

Black Mage made his way to the building and looked to the guard, "Hey! How's guard life?" Black Mage says, pointing his fingers at the guards in a pointing manner. He didn't really wait for an answer and was in a good mood after not being with a gang of idiots for a while and hoped he had a somewhat intelligent partner. As he entered the waiting room he saw what he guessed was his partner since it wasn't a Toad like the rest of the place. However, something was off with this wolf, she had some strange magic around her and had strange markings and weird insturments as well. The reason Black Mage saw these unlike everyone else was that he did have a belief in Gods. He notified the Toad and looked at the strange wolf, "... Your no ordinary wolf, are you?" Black Mage asked even though he wasn't sure if she could answer.

The purple headed mushroom man’s eyes faltered from the bright lcd screen placed in front of him as the white wolf climbed onto his counter. There were prominent bags looming underneath the officer’s eyes, but he still wore a bright smile the likes of which were not uncommon on most of his species countenance. He spun his computer chair around and spoke through the plastic window’s air holes. “Hello, you must be the interns. The captain will be with you momentarily” the creature shrieked in his shrilly voice. It shouldn’t be an alarming tone to hear to anyone who had spent enough time around their baby faced species. “For now though, I’ll get you two an escort.” The being switched its view back over to its computer to re-attend to whatever business it currently had at hand.

It wasn’t a great length of time before the door a couple feet from the counter swung open and another gigantic Mushroom Kingdom residence’s head poked out of the door, this time around though the dots on his head were blue. He waddled out from behind the plank of wood after he spotted the two of them. They seemed like the ones they had hired. “Officer Blewit” the miniature man greeted as he held out his tiny digits to shake one of their hands, but quickly noticed he was too small in comparison to the only other being with hands. His arm retreated to behind his back as he coughed to divert attention from his attempt. “Ah, anyway. Follow me” the tiny toad lightly commanded as he walked through the entrance into the next room.

From what the two could see, there was more light in their current room than the next room over. Once entering the space they’d probably notice that there wasn’t a lot room. It was almost like a second waiting room, but the door behind them wouldn’t close until they were both securely inside. The room could barely fit four people at a time, so the space might seem a bit too close since one of the three was bipedal.

The wolf turned her head to the concealed face that had wandered up to her. He looked mage-y, stereotypical hat and all dark. Ammy felt it safe to assume this was the Black Mage that had also put his name down for this mission. She gave him a sniff and huffed, then proceeded to lick her lips. He had an odd smell about him, a bit like tinder really. Amaterasu's attention was drawn back to the toad when the mushroom man began speaking. Once he finished she rested all fours back on the ground and waited as instructed.

Most of her attention remained on the purple robed man standing beside her, the wolf staring up with a slightly ajar head positioning. There was a magic about him, perhaps his earlier remark was regarding true sight of her. At the very least he could likely sense something abnormal about herself. An itch to try something to see if he was able to see grew, but before she could act they were greeted by an officer. While she couldn't return a hand shake she did curl up her tail, begin wagging happily, and bark playfully. When he instructed for them to follow she obliged, making sure to follow a bit behind so she didn't crowd the blue toad.

The next room was very interesting. The floor felt different, not the flooring itself but like there was very little underneath it. Amaterasu noticed there were no windows or other doors... what was going on? Her tail ceased wagging as she debated, then began sniffing everything around her. There were some sort of buttons near the doorway they just entered. Was this some sort of elevating platform? She'd been on such things before but never in something so enclosed. Annoyingly she continued to push herself around and investigate.

Black Mage was slightly upset when the officer interrupted his chance of getting a type of response out of the strange wolf, assuming it was going to. He chuckled a little at the officer's failed handshake attempt though. This did help maintain his good mood and the fact that he was going to get to do something helped him stay in a good mood as well. He nodded and followed the Toad officer.

He was confused a little when they went into a seemingly smaller waiting room however. He did not see the point of it and did not remember anything like this back in his Home World. It did not help that it was cramped in the smaller room and the doors seemed to close automatically did not help. This made him feel it was a trap but he doubted the Toads would do that let alone be smart enough too. He was still a little tense, though only shown by him tapping his foot.

As the three crowd into the elevator, the wooden door closed behind them and a small snapping sound indicated it was shut. One couldn’t be too picky about their transportation system, they were lucky to even have such simple technology. Sure, some parts of the Life Sphere looks fairly technologically advanced, but those were more important sections. Keeping out infected was always the number one priority, the system of life on the inside always had to take the back seat in terms of resources. It was probably for the best though.

With the box being nearly crammed with people, Officer Blewit pulled a lever on the other end of the room. “Watch yourself” he warned as the contraption began to move and the door behind them began to rise to the ceiling. It was a minor safety hazard, but as long as the operators weren’t being stupid all the people within the craft should be fine. As the wall behind them continued to rise, the blue toad’s eyes continued to wander. “So, not the talkative bunch are you?” he offhandedly questioned with his hand still safely placed on the lever. He cracked a smile then as his eyes focused on the group. “You know I helped Megaman fight… Ah, forget it” he began cheerily, but ended somewhat disheartened. He felt somewhat foolish thinking that a wolf and a mystic would care much about his stories.

The elevator then jerked to a sudden halt as another door became visible on the wall behind them. The tiny vested man squirmed his way through the group and pushed the door open manually. As the exit opened, it revealed a gigantic hallway with small iron bars lining each side all the way to the other end of the hall. The other end of the hall also had a door, but it was probably not the first thing that would catch either of their attentions. There was a countless number of cells, but they acted more like trophy cases really. Each was outfitted with as many trophies as they could fit easily. Each trophy was a different story, a different criminal, each couldn’t be trusted on the surface of the Life Sphere. You’d have to earn yourself quite the name to end up down here, archived until the Starvia virus was dealt with. “This goes without saying, but don’t touch anything.”

The moment she felt the box begin moving Amaterasu halted and widened her stance however she could in the small amount of space. After a moment she relaxed, the motion familiar enough itself just not the sudden activation. With a quiet grumble she sat down and scratched at her ear for the second time since entering this building. She preferred when there was a someone obviously in control of how they were moving; she would even take a demon like the last time. They weren't so bad.

Both ears perked when the officer began to speak. Her only indication that she was paying attention to the mushroom man. Her black eyes stared at the lever he was holding. After his voiced decision to cease his story the white wolf twitched her nose and turned to stare at him for a moment. His choice was likely for the best, she never could pay attention to a story for long.

With the doors opening she hastily exited to inspect the new area, nose busy and eyes scanning intently. A prison was nothing new to her but the contents were still unexpected. She'd only encountered these trophies once before when she hauled that large monkey and Shadow back home after her rescue. Curiously she zigzagged between each cell, swiftly ending up behind the party as they moved more linearly down the hall. Amaterasu wanted to see the beings behind these bars and remember them, whether it be scent or visuals. Not that she could reliably get either for all of them considering some of them were somewhat large and obscured vision. As for scents well... some trophies were kind of dusty. Again her mind pondered the idea of if she would turn into one of these things should she be defeated. Not exactly a pleasant thought...

With louder grumbles and unpleasant noises she continued trotting along, inwardly debating this possibility. Her Divine Retribution began burning a bit brighter with her agitation.

Black Mage was a little thrown off by the sudden movement, What is moving this thing? It can't be magic... It is too crude... Black Mage thought to himself after straightening up. He was used to having to take the stairs, this kind of transport was strange to him. He gave the Toad officer a unimpressed look at the beginning of his tale and was happy he stopped because he really did not want to listen to his tales of grandeur. He'd rather just see this prison and who was so important to keep in here. As the elevator reached the top, Black Mage was once again thrown off balance.

He stumbled out of the elevator and held his belly, a little motion sick. "So, this is the great security hold? Turn them into a trophy for your collection?" Black Mage asked as they headed down the hall and looked left and right for quick glances at the faces imprisoned in here.  "And how exactly does one become a trophy?" Black Mage asked as he looked back at Amateratsu.  Her disk growing brighter pretty much confirmed that this Wolf is not normal, though how she is differant is still a mystery...

The short fungus headed man stumbled out into the hallway as the other three did, though he attempted to be at the head of the group since he was still their escort. No doubt that anyone new to this place would spend more time investigating than anything else. It was quite the sight, whether someone found it amazing and impressive or depressing and chilling. To Officer Blewit, it was another day on the job. Each trophy had their chance to aid in protecting the Life Sphere and they chose to continue on with their lowly lives. This type of behaviour could not be tolerated, not during this time.

Amaterasu seemed to be the most interested in the bodies that were put into stasis. It was probably the regular canine curiosity, but the creature had some sort of higher intelligence than that of an animal, that much Blewit knew. As long as she didn’t touch them, it was safe for her to investigate.

The other that was in their group (as far as the police records went he didn’t have a name nor did he sign on with any sort of discernable name) though posed a very strange question. The officer figured that he hadn’t spent much time in the world of Li if he didn’t understand the process of trophification. It was also odd that he voiced his concern about this and nothing else during their short time together, the toad was beginning to wonder if he could even speak. “You don’t get out much do yah? On this planet inside of dying, you turn into that” he answered as he pointed at a trophy. “It’s weird, I know, but hey it’s more ethical than the death sentence and easier to house them, so I can’t complain.” Blewit then shrugged and continued to move forward until he crossed a cell with a Kremling trophy, a Krusha class.

The officer halted and turned toward the trophy. It was among another couple criminals, like the infamous Goomba pickpocket and the great Hyrule organ player who went mad. Scum the lot of them, but he felt obligated to point out K Rool’s general since they would be safeguarding it. He pointed his puny finger at him. “There he is, King K Rool’s most blood thirsty general. General Klaw. They have a very diverse and intricate naming system those Kremlings, let me tell you. This guy tore through nearly three dozen officers before we could subdue him. He’s as ruthless as they come, but with that he’s kill crazy. He’d rather take his victim down than retreat. The Captain was the one who took him down in the end, Klaw didn’t stand a chance at that point.”

There were so many in here. A lot more than she expected initially. It would be very problematic if their opposition decided to release these beings from their trophies as a distraction or even to just aid their cause. With no idea how large the initial force attempting the break will be she couldn't even imagine having to deal with everyone in here as well. As she finished with the cell next to the one the other two stopped at she huffed, then trotted to Black Mage's side to get a good look at the infamous General Klaw. Unfortunately she had a hard time telling these things apart except for the different sizes. This one just looked like a giant version of her little buddy, Clinch.

Amaterasu's head cocked to the side at this inward thought of hers, the wolf almost ignoring whatever else was being said. Ruthless and unstoppable is what she gathered and that was all she really needed. Not that she needed any more convincing that he was not to be let out. She took a sniff at the cell and growled lightly before turning herself around and taking in the room as a whole in planning. Small tunnels, aka vents, how much room she had to move in should the enemy get in here... it was a very brief look around before she twisted her head back around to Blewit expectantly. Her ears would flick to the mage whenever he spoke.

Black Mage heard that trophification was the way death was in this world but found it to be a little ridiculous so he refused to believe it. However, the Toad officer's explaination and the prison helped prove this to not be false. The reason Black Mage hasn't really spoken on this trip was he had nothing to say really.

Then the Toad said the Kremlings had a diverse and intricate naming system, "Oh yes claw with a K is soooo original and the King's name being a pun on his personality is soooo genius." Black Mage said sarcastically. These Mario universe species and their names being bad puns was starting to bug him. Seriously, can they come up with anything not a bad pun? Zess T., Koops, Goomabario? Seriously it was starting to be irritating.

Despite this, Black Mage did not want this guy loose since he felt the idiot population should be at a minimum. Black Mage turned his head to Ammy and saw she was thinking the same thing he was. Good to know she's intelligent. He turned his head around to see any alternate ways of entrance. just to plan in advance if they are to be used.

The two of them made the intelligent decision on further inspecting the room for both entrances and exits. The room itself was fairly straight forward, in fact it was no more than a glorified hallway. They were near the middle of the corridor, so either end of it was just as close as the other, but the door they were approaching seemed a tad bit closer. There was the elevator on the other end of course, but there was also an emergency exit on the opposite wall to it. No doubt the emergency exit contained stairs to lead them back to the surface. As for anything else, there were no vents and no other openings. The prisoners weren’t conscious so it didn’t matter all that much.

As for Amaterasu’s inquiry, she should notice that the space between cells did allow her enough maneuverability for combat, but if it got crowded then things might become a little bit problematic. There was enough room for four average sized Kremlings to stand in a line with their shoulders touching. The ceiling was also fairly high, however, right above their heads was a grated platform that lined across the room for the sake of accessing the cells above them. The height was decent, the tallest figure in the room (Black Mage) could jump and not hit his head unless it was a high or boosted jump. There was a steel staircase near the singular door that had yet to be opened, but given its skeletal design it could be problematic for the white wolf to climb.

Officer Blewit stared back at the robed individual blandly. “You don’t know what a joke is, do yah son?” he questioned rhetorically since the man seemed like he took his comment on Kremlings’ names seriously. He lightly shook his top heavy head, but before another word could be said a siren on the ceiling began to flash red and a minute beep began to loop and echo around the room. “Ah great, didn’t even get you to the Captain.”

Suddenly, the door to the Captain’s quarters burst open as though a burst of air had blasted it. “Hryah” was the sound that accompanied the door’s sudden movements. Not even a second after the way was open for the man inside, Captain Falcon sprinted through it and soon zoomed by the group in the cell block with his huge strides that announced importance in his actions. He came to a screeching halt at the elevator and waited momentarily as he pressed the up button. When the door opened for him he fist pumped and shouted “Yes!” then zipped inside. The machine slowly began to elevate, but after a second or two what sounded like the cord of the elevator snapping triggered the drop of the machine.

Perking at the presence of the flashing lights and warning siren of the complex Ammy rose from her seated position. Unfortunately with the noises produced by the building she wouldn't have any way to really depend on her hearing for what was going on. In bursts yes, but it was almost like trying to see in the dark with a strobe light as the only light source.

Before she could do much of anything though she bore witness to a rather comical character trodding down the hallway in haste. His actions seemed over the top and well practiced. The sun goddess found herself rather captivated by this captain of theirs; just as a curious spectacle. When his figure disappeared behind the sliding doors the canine swung her head back around to take a look into the room he'd left the doors wide open to. Her inspection was cut short though with the snap of elevator cords, Amaterasu twisting partially back around to stare at the doors a moment.

She hoped this was the only reasonable entrance and there was no other way down through the captain's room, making her decision to trot closer to the elevator entrance. Amaterasu left a good twenty feet or so between her and it before she planted herself, hunched and growling, claws extended and teeth bared, her divine retribution's circling flames flaring up, resurrection beads swirling about her neck at a quicker pace. Despite all these visual ques to her readying the sun goddess was actually preparing for a Power Slash with her celestial brush. The only indication she was doing so being the still positioning of her tail and its slightly darkening tip. The moment something emerged from the door she was prepared to locate hands if it was hanging or upper chest in hopes of surprising it and knocking it back into the shaft. Though there was no guarantee anything was even coming from the elevator.

Black Mage grabbed hold of his staff that he pulled out of seeningly nowhere as the sirens began to ring. Then the door burst open and some... man in spandex came out? Black Mage was about to zap him but was surprised at how fast the guy could run. That was like near Sonic the Hedgehog levels of fast. Black Mage watched run into the elevator which then apparently went onto a crash course and one way ticket going down. Black Mage expected to have been some kind of trap or an entrance. Well, there was no time to think about this.

Amateratsu seems to be guarding the elevator entrance but Black Mage did not like the idea of enemies from both sides so he had to do something. Well, it was a good thing they were in a prison with no doubt Meta Bars, they had to stop accidental touching or easy breakins somehow. And what is metal? A conducter of course! Black mage aimed the hand not touching his staff at the cells on the side of them that is opposite to the elevator and used Thunder to shoot lightning at the bars and started to draw lines between both bars pretty quickly with his hand. There was soon an electric net that was sure to stop anything unless it could absorb or pass through electricity. "That should give foes from that direction a SHOCKING suprise!" He joked, he was really a hypocrite when it came to making jokes.
