Jr rolled his eyes at Daisy's first remark, deciding not to answer that. But when she asked why he chose his car, the Koopa prince's eyes lit up. "But none of those cars are like mine. This one's got all sorts of tricks to it, I put them there myself, hehehehe!" Jr gushed. You could see the amount of attachment Jr had for his Car, with the amount he spouted off about it. "Papa's cars might be nice, but there's only one of mine! As for Papa himself, he's....kinda busy. He always is. He manages to catch an arena match here or there, but he doesn't have much time for this kind of- OW!"

Jr cut himself off with a yelp as Daisy pinched his cheek. Rubbing his cheek with pained and annoyed look on his face, he glared up at Daisy. "What was that for?" he started, his temper rising. But, after a few more seconds, it died down again. Whatever he had against the princess, he could take it out on her on the race track. "Whatever. Good to see you too, Daisy"

Once they were at the starting line, Jr hopped back into the Clown car, almost bouncing up and down in his seat in eagerness. Unfortunately, Velo needed to get his little speech out of the way. While he was waiting for him to finish, Jr jumped up and waved at the camera as it passed by him. Maybe Papa or one of his siblings was watching!

Once the camera had left him alone, the countdown to start the race had begun. Settling down and strapping himself in, Jr held his foot over the gas. Waiting.....waiting.....

GO! As soon as the light turned green, Jr stood on the gas, and the Clown Car shot ahead of almost everyone else. As he raced past Daisy, he thumbed his nose at her. "See you at the finish line!"

[Tifa Lockhart]

Well, there was not too much time for greetings left as the call for the race was issued. "Alright, thanks for your work," Tifa nodded before following the little green men to the track... Now that she had time to look, her motorcycle was... kind of tame for some of these vehicle's appearances... Daisy had a bike similar like her and there was a few karts but then there was the clown thing and... Whatever the blue thing was... Still, Tifa gave a raised fist at her introduction as she hopped onto her motorcycle.

Hopefully the course doesn't damage this, she didn't really have a replacement available... Still, she breathed deeply and got herself ready. She has had high speed action before although compared to the Avalanche days this would probably be relatively tame.

At the go she pressed down and the motorcycle went it's distance... She seemed to get pretty far along so far but some of the other vehicles looked to be ahead... Well, it is only the beginning of the race, anything can happen.

[Cream the Rabbit and Cheese]

"It wasn't that long at all! Thanks for the help!" Cream declared cheerfully, following to the track where the cars were... Wow, there were all kinds of vehicles! She only was ever able to watch these kind of races before so being this close was kind of exciting in a way. The glass dome of the chao car popped open to permit Cheese and Cream to hop inside as it closed back down.

"Alright! Let's all do our best!" Cream smiled as her name was called and looked at... man, there was a lot of buttons... Were half of these even necessary? "... So, it's this one that goes, right?" Cream asked as she hit the button and...

.... Went in reverse with a loud beeping noise and a voice blurring with "Press the Reverse Button to go in reverse!" Cheese grabbed Cream's hand, shook his head and went for another button. She moved to another button as well, causing the car to move but... immediately break. "Press the Accelerate Button to accelerate and the Brake Button to stop!"

"...." Cheese just kind of looks at Cream for a second as she nervously laughed... Well, that's a start alright.

By the time most of the racers left the finish line, Velo moved away from the podium, and sat by his lonesome on a chamber, watching the race unfold from a vantage point in the stadium.

A few moments later...the speakers came to life. "Evening, ladies and gentlemen, as well as everyone in between!" came a voice from them. "This is M.H., and I'm hosting this racing commentary with my friend C.H.!"

"AYO, C.H ON DA HOUSE!! I'm with my buddy ol' amigo M.H. to comment on this Nitro Challenge thing! WAHOO!"

"Alright! Looks like the red robot Protoman has taken the lead at the start there, but the Prince of Koopas, Bowser Jr. is edging so close to him!"

"Yeah, true that, dude! That Tifa's no slouch either, though! Look at her sleek motorbike going all 'NYOOOM'!!"

"Yes, yes. In 5th and 6th place, there's Crash Bandicoot and Amitie, Daisy in 6th, and lagging behind by a cruel twist of fate, PAC-MAN is in 7th and Cream in last place!"

"C'MON YOU TWO! PETAL TO THE MEDALLLLLLL!"

As the racers moved towards the underground tunnel, the shining object became easier to see. It looked to be a...wormhole? The road ended with a ramp and a turbo boost pad on its tip, meaning they were supposed to jump in. The wormhole had a blurry image of a city decked in neon lights...

[Crash Bandicoot]

Crash felt the wind blow harshly on his face as he was soon overtaken by the red robot, the chubby turtle and the lady with the motorcycle. He took a moment to look behind, squinting his eyes to see how many others were behind...huh, he was in fourth place! Not a bad start at the end of the day. Turning back to eye the front, Crash hit the accelerator button...

...and drifted left as he quickly bypassed Tifa, his tires briefly brushing up against the syntheThe black smoke suddenly ignited in flames, with Crash gaining a boost in speed that helped him pass Bowser Jr. and then Protoman. The bandicoot smiled as he overtook his opponents, the kart's engine roaring as flames were up on his pipes. "Yeah-ha-ha!" he vocalized, now more focused than before on the track...

A wormhole approached! Or...well, he was approaching the wormhole. Undaunted by the appearance of the gate, Crash kept his kart going with a determined smile! He's been through many wormholes at this point, he's used to it. 'Sides, hesitation would only lead to giving away his position, and well, he couldn't let that happen!

"Whawhawha?!" Amitie sputtered out, as she was quickly overtaken by three different people. "Seriously?! How are you guys this fast?!" she questioned, a mild tone of incredulity escaping her. The Puyo-capped girl lightly smacked her face to come to her senses. This was no time to gawk. This was time to race!

Amitie put her racing goggles on as she pressed the acceleration pedal harder, the kart going a bit faster than before. She did seem to overtake some other racers, but she couldn't celebrate just yet. Not only was the bandicoot still ahead, but the others could very well overtake her with a trick or two. She had to keep going and not let up!

The appearance of a wormhole briefly spooked Amitie and was granted a bit of hesitation...that is, until she saw Crash just zoom toward it, no questions asked. "R-right! Gotta keep my head on the track!" She told herself as she kept going. It...should be safe to jump into it, right...?

Starting off in 6th place? That may not sound good, it’s just par the course. Every Mario Kart veteran knows even starting in first place doesn’t guarantee you’ll finish there.
Daisy just had to speed up, hold her ground and focus on who’s ahead: 5 racers. 5 Obstacles to get around for that coveted first place. She didn't even look back to notice one of her competitors went the wrong way altogether. And as long as he didn't eat a Power Pellet or something, PacMan wasn't her problem either.

“Woo!” Daisy cheered as she gained her second burst of speed in her engine. “Not too bad!”
“Princess of the Prix, coming through~!” She regally announced herself as she motored past Tifa.
“I’ll be waiting for you there~!” Daisy cooed smugly, referring to the finish line as she glided past the Koopa prince. Two down, two to go and one to get past now…

“Say! That helmet and scarf combo of yours looks familiar…” Daisy shouted out to Protoman, only looking at him through her peripheral vision as her eyes were clearly fixed on the road ahead. “Like I’ve seen them, that shape of kart and even that shade of red on a race track before… But I can’t quite place Where…”1d20+3

Pressing the gas pedal into the floor, Jr didn't let up, even as Daisy, Crash, and Amitie zipped past him. They weren't going to stay in that position for long, not while he was still at the wheel. The Clown Car had made a pretty good start, but Jr knew the vehicle better then that. He knew it had more in it. And he was going to have to push it as much as possible if was going to win this race. And he was gonna win, if he had anything to say about it!

"Not if I get there first!" Jr called right back to Daisy as he rocketed past her once again. Showing no fear at the wormhole opening in front of him, Jr shot of the ramp and into the portal in front of him, the wheels of the Clown Car retracting into the hull and replaced by a propeller once he was airborne. At the peak of his jump, Jr pulled himself out of the cockpit a little and spun around so he was facing behind him, before chuckling loudly while holding his stomach, making an exaggerated laughing pose. Of course now that he was in first, he was gonna taunt it competitors that were currently eating his dust. "Hahaha! See you losers later!"

Once the engine had quit coughing it's lungs out, Pac-Man hesitated a moment before hitting the gas again.  That working side of him told him he should take a second to look it over and see if needed some fixing up but he also couldn't really afford even a second at a time like this.  He ended up hitting the gas again, albeit more slowly this time, revving it up.

His blue four-wheeler responded happily by speeding him forward.  Perhaps it just needed to warm up.  Pac was back in the game and ready to roll.  He turned himself back towards the rabbit and blue thing that kept him company at the start and waved at them before boosting ahead.  He had some catching up to do. 

The portal ahead had him a bit confused as he was expecting to race on the giant track.  Hopefully this wouldn't get too out of hand from here.

"WOOOWO, WAY TO GO, CHUBBY TURTLE KID! BUT THAT BANDICOOT DUDE IS NOT TOO FAR AWAY!"

"Indeed, both must stay sharp. In the third place is Amitie, lagging a bit behind the first two."

"THE PRINCESS OF SARASALAND IS BEHIND CAT-HAT GIRL, IN 4TH PLACE!"

"PAC-MAN is trying his best to catch up to the others!"

"AND THE OTHER THREE NEED TO STEP THE H E C K UP! THIS ISN'T A KIDDIE AMUSEMENT PARK RIDE. THIS. IS. KART RACING!!!"

As the racers leaped through the portal, they'd be met with...a vibrant city, filled to the brim with neon lights of various sizes and shapes. ...well, mostly purple, but there were some other colors there. How was this possible, though? Was this a set built for the track? Did they actually warp here?

After a few meters of a straight line, the track took a spiral shape going downwards. It seemed to stretch pretty far from the looks of it...looks like it was time to start drifting!

[Crash Bandicoot]

"Whoa!" The bandicoot's eyes gone briefly wide as the young Koopa passed by him, though the distance between both of them wasn't really that big. Crash leapt over the wormhole, and came across the sight of...a vibrant city! The sight was real pretty! It almost enchanted the marsupial, but he shook his head. C'mon, Crash, ya dummy, you gotta keep an eye out on the track.

As the turn approached, Crash shifted gears, making his kart hop a bit before he turned his steering wheel around, making the kart start drifting. The bendicoot began to descend in the spiral track before him. Much as he wanted to keep an eye on Bowser Jr., last time he did that wasn't exactly favorable to him. Crash could only keep on driving and deal with whatever came in view.

Amitie bit her lip slightly and charged forward towards the wormhole with her eyes almost closed, coming across a whole different town. "Whooooaaaa, that's so cool!" Amitie couldn't help but gush about it for a brief moment, her green eyes shining brightly as she took in the visual spectacle of the track.

She had slowed down a bit to appreciate the sights, getting a little distracted over the town's vibrant colors, though she kept moving along the track. As she drifted along the place, Amitie had been lulled into a sense of calm, peacefully moving along the track, not really making an effort to move up a position. "Wow,this place is so pretty..." Ami ie commented rather absentmindedly.

He was in First place but it was short lived as his kart started to slow down a bit while some of the other racers had passed him. This was just not his day it seemed as he would do what he could to catch back up. Heading into the portal took him into a vibrant city that had buildings of all shapes and sizes which were all noticeably purple for some reason.

Blues would attempt to drive faster to gain the lead again, hopefully.

Zoom! Blues was heading far back in as his kart moved past all of the drivers once again! However it was not enough to pass the one in first place, Bowser Jr. "You better hope I don't take back first place Jr, because I am aiming to win." Blues said with a smirk as he was gaining on him fast, practically in first too but not quite yet.

Jr stood on the accelerator as much as he could, not letting up a smidge for those behind him as he rocketed forward again, blasting through the portal and slamming down on the street once again. As the Clown Car shot forward, the neon lights and purple...everything passed by Jr in a blur. It was pretty psychedelic looking from the Koopa prince's perspective, anyway. Making it to the end of the straightaway in no time flat, Jr started drifting around the spiral, the wheels grinding against the pavement and throwing up blue and orange sparks everywhere. Hopefully it wouldn't burn up the rubber...too much, at least.

“Hey!” Daisy gasped as Bowser Jr. rocketed past her. “We’ll catch up some other time, ‘kay?” She big Blues farewell as she juiced her engine again intent on chasing that runaway Koopa through the portal.

Up ahead in the underground tunnel, a ramp with a turbo boost pad on its tip lead into a wormhole. Daisy had enough racing experience to know what to do on one of those and showed no hesitation rocketing up and off of it. The wheels on her Dolphin Dasher rotated on their second axis, now facing the floor and serving as propellors once she was airborne.

Allowing the force to lift her out of the seat, Daisy took advantage of her inertia to show a little style for the spectators and everyone racing behind her. “Yahoo!” She hooted as she spun herself around her steering wheel in mid-air. “Don’t try this at home, kids~!” She winked before plopping herself back onto her seat with professional precision. Just in time to pass through the portal, too. Daisy had enough racing experience to know she had no idea what to expect on the other side. And she couldn’t be more thrilled.

“Wow!” She gasped in awe, emerging in the neon city. She’d love to take a spin around the town and explore the sights, but that would have to wait for her victory lap. Touching down onto the race track, she had to immediately readjust herself: the track was about to take a spiral down and there was only one safe way through that: Drifting. With the finesse and grace her skills afforded her, Daisy slid sideways and drifted down through the spiral like Bowser Jr.’s dad being spun by Mario.

“Yes it's such a pretty place, isn't it~?” Daisy swooned as she drifted by Amitie. “Can I have it?” She asked cheekily snagging Amitie's place in the race.
“Whoop, nevermind. I like this one better!” She giggled, taking Crash's place instead. Bowser Jr. could run, but he couldn't hide!
