Panting.
Fear.
Anger.
Anxiety.
Panic.
Negative emotions swirling in an endless vortex perpetuated Link's heart as his feet carved a scar in the ground as they blurred across the landscape. He didn't care that this was a grave misuse of the Fierce Deity Mask's power. He didn't care that he could feel the golden triangle burning a hole through his palm as his senses heightened. Link-didn't-care.
Back at the Sunshine Stadium, the pokemon trainer Blue had completely sent the previously discouraged silent warrior into a depressive spiral; asserting wild claims about the destruction of Hyrule. Of course Link had ran. He couldn't bear to even think about what she'd tried to tell him. The idea that, for nine years, his entire home country had been utterly annihilated by the Starvia? Just the thought made his stomach wrench.
Cursed leather parted the dusted ground leading to the Hyrulian lands like the Red Sea, the sheer power alone of the Fierce Deity's mask heightening Link's physical abilities to the extreme. He needed that power. It wasn't just about feeling like an adult anymore. He needed to see the truth, confirm that the girl had lied to him, by finding Hyrule as soon as possible. "P̷̡͝l̸̺̃e̵̦͊̀ȃ̴͕̗ŝ̴͖̟ȩ̴̗̀.̴̻̉̎.̵͔͖͗̏.̶̰͈̀͑ ̸̜̤̿̉p̷̠̍l̷̯̭͐e̵͇̾͗a̵̺̹͆ŝ̷̖̝͘e̵͈͛̇.̵̛͈̀.̸̨̧͝.̸̱̓ ̴͕̙͠p̶̭͋ĺ̵̯̲e̷̹͒a̵̠̒̔s̴̼̞͑͂ẹ̴̰̈͂.̸͇͂͘.̵̘̮̏.̸̡̰́̕ ̸̨͎̓̆p̴̧͔̈́͒l̷̠̮̋ë̷̻́a̴̡̧͋͘s̴͔̃̾e̴̝͇̓͠.̵̭̖́.̶̢̻̋͌.̸̖͍̿̓ ̷̲̒͘P̷̱̺̽͠L̴̪̹̾̅Ę̷̛͜A̷̻̋͘S̴͎̊E̸̟͗͆--"
Link skidded to a halt at the edge of a sheer cliff face. The edge cracked and splintered off, sending chunks of gravel and dirt falling into the depths below with the Hylian's sudden stop. Link wasn't focused on that though. The transformed hero instead gazed through empty, soulless white eyes at the sight he'd been dreading with all of his hearts. It was the sight of the truth: Hyrule, in ruin. Reduced to nothing but a lifeless crater inhabited only by disease and desolation. A barely recognizable desert filled with only the traces of a long-since obliterated civilization. A civilization he'd once known... now nothing but destruction.
DOOOOOOM
Link collapsed to his knees, clutching his head as overwhelming pain shot through his already compromised form. Every piece of his being was in pain: Emotionally, physically, and now spiritually. And he wasn't even in any sort of mindset to address it. Rather than even comprehend what was happening to him, Link's thoughts were merely filled with a black empty void of negative thoughts and feelings. "S̵̠̐̽a̴̞̍r̵͔̀̔i̵̘̬̓ă̸̙͠.̷̬̫̃͘.̵̞̭́͝.̶̼͗͐Ḿ̸̻̤͠i̵͕̅d̶͍͍͊͘o̶̦̓.̶̯̱̂́.̸̙̺̇̈́.̸̯̭̿F̷̻̳̈́͐à̵̲̰͘d̷͖̩̾̃o̶̤͒͐.̸̘̔.̷̮̇͑.̸̬͊R̵̦̍u̵̯̾t̵̠́ō̵̳.̶͓̇̀.̷̧̂͘.̸̰̖͋M̵̦̘̈́à̶͖̕l̸̗̚o̴͍̪͂͛ń̸͎͔.̸̥͋.̷̝̈̈́.̵̨̼͝I̴̱̖͒̍m̸̮̕p̷̙̅͝a̴̠͆.̶̫͋.̷̬̈͋.̶͖̾.̸̗̘́̓D̴͓̜̍͛a̵̦̼̅r̴̝̀̀ṳ̸̳̒n̵̛̦͍ȋ̸̲a̶̘̍̉.̶̞͂.̵̢̋̚.̷̨̾̆È̵͚̹̕p̷̦͋ô̴̢n̷͔͕̉̄a̷̱͈̽͌.̵̺̃̏.̷̪̉̃.̸̡̭̀̽" All of them, dead. His home, gone. Everything he'd fought so hard to protect, had broken himself across time itself to fix and give hope to, completely erased...and he wasn't there.
DOOOOOOM
Another searing pain shot through Fierce Deity Link; falling to his hands and knees from the stress of it. Out of the corner of his eye he might've caught a glimpse of the culprit had he been in anywhere near the right mindset. A searing gold triangle, where typically there was merely a faded brown mark in his skin, now shone brightly the triangular symbol of Hyrule itself... except it wasn't the bottom right polygon spreading it's blinding light, but the very top. It's golden hue slowly began to twist into a darker shade, yellow soon replaced by a malevolent crimson shade. A chaotic energy began spreading across the Fierce Deity, magnifying it's already intense and powerful dark aura. Link could say nothing, he could do nothing, he couldn't save anyone and every effort he'd ever made ultimate proven in vain. Everyone near and dear to his heart were dead and gone...
"Zelda..."

Link fell back onto his haunches, left to do nothing but scream in anguish to the sky above. His despair crescendo'd manifesting in the physical realm as a pillar of dark kaleidoscopic colors encircling scarlet completely enveloped the Hylian as it shot up into the sky. A cacophony of divine and dark magic, intermixed within a sea of raw emotions erupted towards the heavens as if to challenge the goddesses themselves for the tragedy that had been wrought.
"...Link." Tatl softly uttered as she guided the princesses towards the Hyrule Crater. Even from this far away, they would be able to spy the large pillar of darkness and despair extending up into the sky from afar. Directly in the direction they'd been heading towards... and directly where Link likely was. She had no idea what was wrong with him, and had tried to play it off as a joke at first, but could see plain as day how serious the situation was now.
She didn't even bother to joke about the mission participants. Instead the fairy simply bowed her head and thanked each of them again. "...I don't know what to expect once we get there... but Link needs our help. I can feel it." She cautioned. The chiming fairy turned her focus back to the foreboding pillar of negativity lying dead ahead. If any sort of empaths or magically atunned individuals were present in the party, they'd no doubt feel the disturbance coming from miles away. It was the spiritual equivalent to getting smacked in the face with a brick. It was raw in such a way that only the unfiltered, unbridled emotions of a child could convey; but magnified to such a degree they barely seemed human anymore.
Whatever lay ahead... it certainly wasn't good.
