The loud whirring gears of his Wolfen Tank echoed throughout the wasteland as Wolf plowed through the desert like terrain of the infected planet to reach the region of Sector X's Crash Site. It wasn't his original tank he was used to battling and piloting with per say for interstellar journeys, but a replica he was able to help craft with some of the Life Sphere engineers with the tech they had available. It was to his benefit that the region wasn't too far away from the Life Sphere, but it was unfavorable however that this would be Wolf's first mission on this planet and first real chance to scout the hellish terrain fully geared up and prepared for anything.
He didn't know what to expect nor had the veteran prowess that many of the other fighters in the Life Sphere did when it came to familiarity with the surrounding regions, but he did have focus and determination and he was going to feed off of that to get him through. He started to see a walled perimeter a few miles ahead and the closer he got to the location the bigger the place seemed. For being the product of an epic explosion it certainly seemed in great structural shape out in the open like that.
"What kind of defensive capabilities does an old fortress like this even possess? Surviving such a blast in such good shape how can that be? The building material is clearly ancient, yet standing strong. Hmm...I'm running a scan." With a few swipes of his fingers Wolf turns on his rig's scanning capabilities and manages to get readings of life forms as well as a reading of the area's structural integrity. "Good shape indeed. And I see...1...2...3...no 13...no....well hello little birdies, my my there are alot of you aren't there." The radar on his scanner lit up with numerous little red blips signifying a large number of activity within the structure's confines. He may be unfamiliar with the setting of Li and what dwelled in and around its demonic surface, but he wasn't unfamiliar with the art of war or the heat of battle.
He was a survivor, a Bounty Hunter, and a trained top grade pilot and assassin. What didn't kill him made him stronger, or at least, richer. For a place this size he had to be smart and tactical. Though he had a tank and plenty of ammo, he wasn't going to accomplish what he needed by sheer force. This was a search and stealth mission. He had to be low key and undetectable until he got a strong whiff of Star Fox within those walls, then he could unload into the fray if he needed to. The amount of life forms beyond the wall did not scare him. He knew he has taken down so many more foes at once before in other circumstances, so this was just another work day for him.
"Going in dark and quiet. They won't suspect a thing." Wolf whispered to himself to keep him in a focused and amped mindset. He parked the Wolfen in a safe and undetectable location by a cluster of boulders just outside the wall's right flank. He jumped out of his tank and turned the frequency of his Deflector on real low so it didn't set off any energy sensors or security systems nearby(if there were any) and kept it at a silent murmur. He checked his blaster and equipment attached to his outfit's utility compartments to ensure they were loaded and ready for action immediately if things went sour. He felt ready to do some serious espionage at this point. He walked low and softly towards the back wall of the city trying to find any opening, so far he has had no luck, and if it had to come to it, he would need to climb up the wall's surface which he was more than fine with. Climbing to him was one of his specialties.
As he began searching for an opening to get inside he remembered what he read in the Life Sphere Law Book before embarking on this mission. "Not to engage in combat unless absolutely needed...and something about a diplomatic approach? Pfft. What kinda rule is that anyway. It's kill or be killed and dog eat dog out here. I will be the one to decide if a first strike is necessary or not, not them." He whispered to himself again as a way to keep himself calm and level headed and couldn't shake the feeling that he was being watched and followed. He kept his eyes peeled and ears perked for any dangers as he scouted for a way in, fighting the frustration of finding a weak point in this fortress for entry. "I can't just blow a hole in the place....come on, there has to be a way somewhere..." He was adamant on breaking in and he was going to plan to do it alone.
