Hello peoples!
So things have been a bit hectic lately and I know there’s an air of uncertainty clouding the site right now, but we got an update thread here to help put your mind at ease. In an effort to give more transparency from staff to regular-joe members, we are giving you all the scoop on what’s been going on and what we’re going to do in the future so incidents like what happened a couple of days ago don’t happen again.
Since I don’t have all the time in the day to be playing PR Manager, Mari has provided me with a short write up to explain what’s going on and I’ll continue below.
Over the past few days there has been some discussion going on behind the scenes. Unfortunately, during that discussion one of our life mods, Stariii, expressed some hard feelings that ultimately resulted in a falling out that led to him leaving the site. You can wish him the best and let him know you'll welcome the possibility of his return in his Goodbye Post. Other than that though, things have mostly calmed down and we've reached resolutions to make changes to the site for the better! For starters, Blade Unlimited is getting his long-awaited promotion to the Life Mod position. His handling of recent events gave us a pretty strong indication that he was ready for it, so congratulate him next time you see him!
For a very long time the chat has existed in a sort of limbo rules wise. We had more or less two very basic rules that boiled down to "Keep the chat from getting too vulgar" and "Put a stop to disruptions." The former has always been solved by a deleted message when someone accidentally goes a little too far. But the latter... has never really had a proper moderator response outlined. Over the history of the site, punishments have ranged from nothing at all to a verbal warning to deleted messages. Recently, it resulted in a timeout from the chat. Because of how Chatango worked, it wasn't very easy for us to put rules in the chat for easy reading. It didn't have features for that.
However, going forward we're going to resolve to provide a bit more transparency in the expectations of chat behavior. Namely, by adopting a #rules channel as many other discords server do. We hope that this won't actually change the way you feel about the chat, and that it will continue to be a fairly relaxed place to be in.
As stated, Starii left of his own volition, despite our efforts to reach out and patch things up. We expect him to come back eventually, but eventually could be a long time. For the time being, we are archiving his missions and ask for people to accommodate their own missions for his sudden absence. If anyone has anything to appose this matter, please speak up. Missions to be archived are:

In addition to that is the rules being put in place for the chat. Now, these aren’t being put out there to come down on anyone. The rules are being put in place so both moderators and regular users alike know what the rules and regulations are. It will be no different than what we have said in the past. If things get heated, please take it to the site’s pms, we don’t need heated arguments in the chat because there are plenty of members who are uncomfortable with conflict. If there is abuse in the pms, screen shot it, forward it, or notify a staff member and we will deal with it from there. Any concerns can be posted below here or through pm with me or one of the staff members.
Switching gears to a more positive subject matter, expect Absolution to get an upswing in activity, or at least, the GM/Mod posts from me will be coming sooner rather than later from me. I have Confrontation in works right now (the rolls being skewed thanks to general staff business, apologies), and Exploration will be right after that. I don’t know the status of Fighting, though if necessary me, Quote, and possibly other staff members can discuss those threads moving forward.
