The True Arena is a special event held only a few times a year starring some of the most brutal opponents Li has to offer. Short of the starvia, power is the only guarantee you get. The fights are real, the opponents are unparalleled and there will be no referees to pull you apart when everything is said and done. ...So don't expect any mercy. I recommend bringing a friend. Aside from myself, there are no restrictions on who you can invite. Don't think of me as your enemy, though. In fact, I've got the intel on the newest challenger right here. Energy Beams: A series of energy beams, spheres and stars or his Tornado Body that assault the foes in rapid succession. Light Comboable Attack. (WIS; 15%) Sleep Flash: Nightmare flashes a purple light towards a victim that has a 40% chance of Sleep. Targets INT. (WIS; 10% damage upon hit.) Meteor Storm: Attacks all foes with a storm of meteors. Deals heavy damage to all with a 30% chance to burn. (WIS Attack, 40%) Soul Cutter:An Energy Wave that threatens that leaves a deep gash. 60% chance of Mortal Wound. (WIS 30% damage.) Nightmare Integration: A red flash appears from Nightmare's visor towards a victim of his case that invokes severe panic. Inflicts Terrified 60% of the time and targets INT. WIS; 30% damage.) Absolute Powah: A staggering bolt of lightning from the fingers that threaten to reduce the victim to ash. Targets WIS. (WIS, Deals 50% damage.) Berserk Sphere: Fires a red sphere that fills the victim with total resentment for those who wronged them or other frustrations. 60% chance of Berserk. (Wisdom Attack, 35%) Puppet Dreamer: Attempts to pull at the metaphorical strings of an opponent. If they are awake they can resist with INT and if they fail they are forced to take an action for Nightmare against their allies. If they are asleep or under fear he can make them perform 2 actions and asleep makes the result guarenteed. Wisdom Mind Control. 3 turn cooldown. Nightmare Invitation: Nightmare tries to draw an enemy into his tornado like form and if he succeeds they are inflicted with Swallowed Whole but it only lasts two turns as they are swung around in a tornado like nightmare before being thrown out once it's done. 3 turn cooldown. Void Nightmare: Nightmare's finishing move only used during his eNeMeE phase. He rips open a hole in space and tries to suck an enemy through. If it succeeds they will be trapped in a void of their own nightmares for what seems like an eternity to them but a matter of seconds to everyone else. If the foe is under Fear they have to pass an INT Check of 12 or more or take 100 more damage. (Wisdom vs Intelligence Attack, 100 damage) 4 turn cooldown. | Nightmare Body: Nightmare possesses a really hard to damage tornado body that serves as his only weakpoint. He is immune to grapples and takes 10 less damage from physical attacks unless they are magical weapons. In addition he takes 5 less damage from that and all other forms of attacks except Light and Dream based ones. Immune to Fear, Sleep and Mortal Wound. Dream Shield: Nightmare's shield regenerates at double it's normal rate, regenerates immediately the next turn after breaking and he can use it against Surprise and Mental Attacks as well. Chess Board of Dreams: Nightmare's arena is a large chessboard in an endless void. He can alter this board as he chooses between 3 core forms with each one having an unique terrain effect. Cycles between each form every 2 turns. These impact Nightmare and his Allies as well as the Party. Spring Breeze: A gentle blue night sky with a full moon in a deceptively lush grassy field with ponds dotting the area. The calm before the storm as they say. Healing gets a +5 bonus but Sleep Threshold is increased by 2. Advanced Darkness: A pitch black world where there seems to be nothing but endless darkness stretching as far as the eye can't see. You'll never know what is lurking. Every turn roll a WIS check. If it's 12 or lower you are blinded for the turn and can't see anything. Crimson Bog: A deep red realm of crimson dust, fire, lava and murky red bogs with a blood moon looming in the sky made as a twisted version of the starting arena. All statuses have a +20% chance of being inflicted and have their durations increased by 1. Deep Sleep: It is harder to wake up when put to sleep in Nightmare's realm but you have an odd bit more control. Instead of being unable to fight when asleep you have a -4 modifier to all attacks and dodge rolls but you can not be waken up by being hit or ally assistance minus moves that cure statuses or heal. | Nightmares Rising: Every 100 damage Nightmare takes his body will surge with more electricity and a faint glow will appear in his visor. He will deal 5 more damage and be 20% more likely to cause statuses. Additionally he will summon a Nightmare Ally to assist him at the 100 and 200 damage markers. These Nightmare Allies have 80 HP and work off his CHA modifier but no shield and only a handful of much weaker attacks. Only one action per turn for each.
The True eNeMeE: After losing half his health Nightmare decides enough is enough and stops playing around. The arena begins to shift unnaturally as he performs more seriously. All his stats go up by 2 and can trigger an INT Roll vs his WIS once a turn to prematurely end buffs. In addition all his damage resistances are increased by 5 and he can ignore damage resistance unless provided by a Final Smash or Rare Item. During this phase Weapon Rare Items become usable, ignoring the usual item restrictions and they lose their normal durability restrictions and ignore his Damage Resistances. |
