Just as the climbing party couldn't understand what he was saying, the polar bear couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"Okay chill a minute…" The polar bear had to sit down and process this information.
"So you’re telling me… You cubes are actually gonna Go Up There?..."

"…And stop the purple slush from dripping?"
"Yup."
"Okay. I got it. It's all clear as air now." The polar bear sighed in understanding.
"...Do you cubes have brain freeze?" the polar bear abruptly asked.
"Yup-huh?"
"That is totally Icing!" The polar bear’s tone of voice and face both evolved from tranquil to excited hype as he bounced up to his feet.
"You cubes’ll be like heroes and stuff!" He began to giddily jump up and down with hype. The weight of his body pounding the entire ice floor.

"Uh oh..." Nana winced with dread.
"Brace Yourselves!" Popo warned, holding onto Nana extra tightly now.

Greninja was taken off guard by the sudden hopping from the polar bear, and oh boy, was it a very powerful hop. He felt his body almost stop functioning entirely...thankfully, paralysis wasn't the exact same as of his world, so he just felt...a lot slower. He tried to masquerade his now crippled movement in order to not cause any sort of problem or panic.

"G-greninja...(I...appreciate that you are joyful about our mission...)" He talked once again. "Gren, ninja. (...Unfortunately, time is of essence and we must make haste. I hope you understand.)"

Luckily the Polar Bear could still hear over the Bwom-jingling of his jumps to finally stop. This turned out to be a calm before a storm as the paused look on his face began to tremble as if to herald the oncomming of an idea loading in his head.

“Cube… Cuuube Cuuuuuube!” He began to exclaim with an encore enthusiasm
“I so gelidly want in!” the Polar Bear volunteered to join our climbers on their adventure.

“I’m an icy climber! I've mounted this far up the mountail all by myself!” he bragged, boasting whatever muscle was hiding under all that fur and flab.
"And when the melts get all like-” the Polar Bear gave a mighty roar
“I could brumaly fight too!” the Polar Bear revealed about himself.
“I could be all Ha!”He swiped at Nana with his paw in a feat of strength,
“Ya!”He combed into elbowing Popo to demonstrate his technique.
“Ho!”He took a backswing at Shulk in a display of dexterity.
“Ho!”He took a headbutt to Greninja to show off his endurance. And with a mighty
“Skidoh!”He bumped Link with his belly to show off his… girth.

After managing to recover from paralysis, Greninja noticed that Polar Bear got excited. Maybe a little too excited as he tried to show his battle prowess so that he could join them. The ninja frog swiftly dodged the headbutt, but he did not attack.

Fortunately, he stabilized himself well enough not to slip and fall down a floor either... No telling if that would be the case or not if that level of gut hit him... Probably as bad as Darunia's Booty... Okay, that may be worst actually.

"Um... Sorry, I already have my partner..." Link shrugged off, putting a pat on Greninja's shoulder.... It was more an excuse than anything but... This guy was seeming more like trouble than help so far...

The Ice Climbers were smacked onto their backs by the Polar Bear's mighty paws, Nana sent to lie beside Shulk who was also hi.
"R-really feeling it." Nana non-squitered, a hand on him for support. She was really feeling him.

“Endanger civilians?” the Polar Bear scoffed arrogantly. “Oh give me a break chizzle, I’m no-Oh Carpathia!”
He felt a sudden alarm in his arms, crick in his neck, a crack in his back his legs were begging him to sit down. As it turned out, not stretching before a fight was a bad idea. Our poor champ had a cramp.
Not stretching first proved to be a bad idea.
"Okay just, chill out a minute cubes” the Polar Bear grunted in discomfort. “I gotta cool down.” He panted before falling onto his back with a jiggly thud.

This thud bumped the Ice Climbers back up onto their feet.
“Are you okay?” Popo asked, standing over the fallen bear more confused than curious.
“I’m cool, just a little raw.” The Polar Bear reassured with a thumbs up.
“Did we win?” Nana followed Popo in asking.
“The fight was blistering but in the end you have proven yourselves cool.” He commended the team, particularly Greninja and Link's dexterity and synchronization, but not bothering to get up. “Go on without me.”

“…Okay.” Popo shrugged.“Come on Nana” He took Nana’s hand and bent his knees to begin a jump.

“Oh wait, before you exit and ascend!” The Polar Bear sat up and halted them. “Help yourself to a veg or two!” he generously offered, pointing to the pile of vegetables littering his den, a gesture comparable to offering someone a drink.
“You're gonna need fresh ones to take on those rottens.”

The Ice Climbers jaws dropped slack and their eyes went buggy.
“Really?” Popo asked excitedly, eyes aglow. Nana didn’t even bother to ask. She dived straight into the pile and snagged more than her arms could carry.

“Freeze!” the Polar Bear roared, causing Nana to drop all of them immediately. “Not All of them!”
“Oh. …How many?” Popo asked cautiously.
“Uuuh…” The Polar Bear took a second to count on his paws before deciding a number. “…Three.”
“Three? That’s all?” Nana complained.
“Hey it’s more than Lord Gaben’ll give you.” The Polar Bear argued to justify himself.

Greninja didn't comment on much when he noticed the polar bear receiving a cramp, as his wincing was enough of a reaction. Thankfully though, he decided to let them go, and with a few vegetables to boot. That was...unusually kind, but he'll take all the help he can get.

Shulk stood up, still feeling dazed from the punch to the face, but at least he could stand again. He looked over to where the polar bear was, but saw that he had stopped his...fighting show. In fact, it looked like he wasn't going to get up for a while.

"We can take some? Really?" Shulk asked "Thank you very much!" Shulk walked over to the pile and chose some choice vegetables for the journey

((We got two Eggplants! One Kid’s bane is an Eskimo’s gain. An eggplant can poison enemies if thrown, dealing 2% extra damage every round. The damage stacks the more eggplants you throw. As bitter as they taste, they can also restore your health by 10%. Anyone can use these eggplants, but each can only be used once.))

((We got a Carrot! 13 more and we would’ve been golden. Consuming an carrot can boost the eater’s Wisdom modifier by +2 for the round. They weren’t kidding when they said they were good for your eyesight. Carrots also heal 14% damage too. Anyone can use the carrot, but each can only be used once.))

((We got a head of Cabbage! These can patch up any separation. The Cabbage has the special ability to return your partner to your side if they were knocked off the side of the mountain. If your partner is by your side you can also use the Cabbage to heal your partner by a whopping 50% damage. Anyone can use the Cabbage, but it only works on their partner, and it only works once.))

((We got two Pumpkins! It’s scary how useful these seasonal gourds turn out to be. Equipped with the pumpkin, enemies can be scared off with a Charisma roll. A scared enemy will leave the user alone and try to avoid them at all costs but only enemies affected by the Charisma roll will be scared. Besides scaring the dickens out of foes, the Pumpkin also heals 13% damage. Anyone can use the Pumpkins, but each can only be used once.))

((We got three Turnips! Why turn them down? Turnips make great ammunition to be thrown at enemies, dealing 12% damage each. The Turnips also heal 6% damage when eaten. Anyone can use the Turnips, but each can only be used once.))

((We got two Potatoes! One potato, two potato three potato four, all you got is two potatoes you ain’t got no more. What you potato, do potato, never done before, pick potato, quick potato, throw it at the floor. This creates a POW effect that damages all ground bound enemies by 28%. Potatoes also increase your Constitution stat by +4 for one turn. Anyone can use the Potatoes, but each can only be used once.))

The Ice Climbers frolicked with glee, cradling their leafy loot in hand. They were easily the most excited any two have ever been for getting vegetables of all things.
“Thanks so much!” “You're too kind!” They gratefully thanked the Polar Bear for his generosity.

The polar only responded with a loud snore. He had already fallen asleep.
“He's so cute.~” Nana couldn't help but comment how the big ball of fluff looked when it was quiet and immobile. As quiet as the snoring can get anyway.
Curious of the opportunity, Popo reached for just one more, only to be stopped by the bear growling in his sleep.
Looks like they were only getting away with 3 each.
“Welp... One veggie!”
“Two veggie!”
“Three veggie!”
“For Show!”
“Up the mountain!”
“Not down below?”
Putting them away for safe keeping, it was about time to get going.
“We're still climbing?” Nana lazily asked, a little lost on their motivation at this point.
“Yes we are: Must save Mountain.” Popo reminded her that just because they got the vegetables didn't mean the job was done. Far from it in fact.
“Yup.” Nana agreed to his reasoning.
“Hup Hup everyone!” Popo notified the party that it was time to get going.

Well, yet another possible conflict has been avoided, and that was a good thing. However, Greninja could notice that things were going to get ugly. They were edging ever so closely to the top of the mountain, which equaled to Starvia lurking around. The next enemies would probably be infected by the virus. Mentally steeling himself, the ninja frog jumped up to try and break the next ice layer.
