There stood the home of Shiya Kirigaya, quaint, quiet, seemingly just another normal house among the many that populated Brightwing Lane... and yet something else seemed off about it. On this day, the entirety of the street seemed to be empty for some reason, an eerily silent wind whistled through the air as trees and plants alike wavered to its whim. At every odd minute, a strange blueish-green glow seemed to issue through the windows placed at the house's front, its light filtering through the cracks in the drawn blinds and lending even more to the creepy nature.

As the undertakers of the mission would approach the house, they'd each feel a buzz in the back of their head as a high pitched and squeaky Toad's voice seemed to echo from within their minds! "Alrighty Noobs. Let's make this a clean job! In and out, no survivors, no merc-What? Huh? *background mumbling noises* Oh... Um, change of plans. Apparently he hasn't done anything wrong that we can 'legally' prove yet, so your job is to get in there and stop whatever it is, THEN NAIL HIM! BADA BING, BADA BOOM. GOOD LUCK, IM GONNA EAT SOME DONUTS! *BZZT*" And with a fizzle of static, the voice of the officer was gone; leaving the appraoching parties to their own devices and no real clear preparation or plan of attack. How they proceeded from this point onward would need to be carefully planned, who knows what horrors awaited them at this obviously malicious residence.

Meanwhile~

"AH-CHOO!!!"

Sneezing violently, before lurching foreward on his couch, Shiya sniffed back the snot leaking through his nose after a weirdly random schnoz attack. If he didn't know any better, he'd have thought someone had been talking about him or something... "...Nah." the boy dismissed, rubbing his nose on a tissue before tossing the used paper into a disposal bin. Leaning back against his reclining sofa, Kirigaya was dressed down to a satisfying degree while he relaxed in his home. His cloak and regular clothing discarded onto a rack, the boy lay back in nothing but a sleeveless white t-shirt and boxer briefs. True it was casual as all hell and he wouldn't be caught dead wearing something like this outside... but in the safety of his own home why not?! It was nice, comfortable, and easy to wear! [Sue me.] Shiya cursed at nobody in particular before his eyes drifted to the television in front of him. Absentmindedly flipping through channels, the boy's mouth hung agape in boredom while the screen flickered to a new picture with each passing click.


"...I'm bored."

Shulk waited outside of Shiya's house while he listened to Officer Toad's "instructions". Would it kill the police force to actually do their jobs for once? Shulk shook his head, and began focusing on the task at hand. He knew full well what Shiya was most likely doing, and that's what really scared him.

"He has no idea what that sword is capable of...." Shulk thought to himself. Shiya may have been removed from their match, but the fact that he managed to copy the Monado and all of its powers was damage enough. He had to stop Shiya, no matter what it takes.

.....At least he would, once his partner showed up.

Chell looked down at her Companion Cube for a long moment... Nope, that was not the cube talking to her about that red deserter.Oh wait, mo, that was the police officer that sent her here. She did not care about any criminal records though. No, she wanted him for a much different reason. Looking up at the house she noted that was the address she was looking for. Well, she basically has a permit to enter his house.

Chell walked by Shulk and... Just kind of ignored his existence as she carried her cube to the house. She caught something about someone not knowing what they are messing with... Yep, sounds like him. Good thing she has confirmed that since her next trick may of ended awkwardly if she was wrong. What trick is that you ask? Well, the quiet girl just shot her Companion Cube right through Shiya's window to completely shatter it. Who needed a plan anyway? She then flipped into the window and landed on the cube before jumping off. She's probably not going to consider replacing that as she looked for the idiot... On his couch.

"Uuugh... There's nothing on but junk! Where's the Saturday morning cartoons or wha-....Wait a second."

A stray line and blur of scarlet catching on the edges of Shiya's short term memory, the boy soon clicked the opposite button on his television remote before the screen fizzled once more. This time, the image returned back to the tail end of a news report just completing its airing. The Shy Anchor reading off on the show was positioned quite neatly under the fuzzy, yet familiar, shot of a certain Mage's face... "WHAT THE HELL!?" Shiya screamed in disbelief, slamming his hand down onto the table as he looked on in complete horror at the news report in front of him. "Toadini got arrested?!"

Indeed, it bore the image of the boy's favorite TV show host, Toadini; star of his own magic show program called "Toadini's Wonderland." While Shiya despised the whole concept of magic and its widespread popularity, it was a kind of guilty pleasure for the youth to take part in the airing program every other Friday night. It offered him some cheap entertainment, and the fungus put on quite and extravagant show without even using any "Magic" as far as he could tell despite the occasional slight of hand or misdirection... Shiya should have expected something he enjoyed to turn sour.

"Great. Nothing on, and my favorite show's getting canceled." Shiya grumbled, sinking back into his Sofa while folding his arms over his thinly veiled chest. "This day couldn't possible get any wo-"

CRASH

"OH GOD DAMNIT!" Shiya cursed, covering his face and shielding his eyes as the youth was without warning pelted with shards of broken glass. Eyes sparked ablaze with fury, Shiya ripped off his cloak from the rack to cover a bit of his modesty before turning to the perpetrator, a...... cube? "What the..." He was honestly at a lost. Who hated him SO much that they'd just randomly break his window with a cube... and why did it look so familia-

"Oh no." Shiya uttered, just remembering where he had last seen something similar
before the Cube's owner came sailing through the gaping remains of his window.
"Haven't you people ever heard of doors?!"

Hurriedly ripping on his cloak, Shiya angrily blushed while trying to hide his decency from the intruding woman who had so rudely broken into his home. "GAAAAH!"  his legs into his pants, the boy couldn't help but flail his arms widely in the air before toppling over from the lack of balance; his forehead smacking into the edge of his coffee table on the way down and leaving quite a nasty bump. 

His head pounding like crazy, he finally rolled onto his feet before staring dead at Chell as she poised on her Companion Cube. "Hnnn, WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE!?!?" Shiya screamed in her face, projecting a blade before haphazardly flinging the scarlet sword in Chell's general location in his blind fury. Off the bat though, this blade would appear quite different to the normal ones that Shiya normally used on a dime...

Its appearance was like that of a small Monado!

(CHELL! USE THE FRONT DOOR FOR ONCE! You startled the poor boy and are gonna have to face the consequences, those consequences being Mini Monado to the face! Roll a 10 + DEX to dodge, otherwise receive 10% damage!)

(SHULK! ...be a dear and take the front door, please? It's not like it's locked or anything. If you want, you can try taking a look around with a WIS ROLL and see if anything is really suspicious around this place.)

Shulk turned around, and saw a woman walking toward him. "Ahh" Shulk thought "She must be my partner." He extended his hand in greeting, but the girl walked right past him without a word.

"....Alright them...." Shulk trailed off. He dropped his hand and followed Chell to the house. "So....how do want to tackle this? We'll need to be subtle about this, so he doesn't--"

Chell interrupted Shulk by throwing her cube through the window.

"Or we could do it that way, that works too." Shulk said, resigning his train of thought and just walking in the front door, which surprisingly was unlocked.

The scene that greeted him before him was...an odd one, to say the least. Shiya was standing panicked by the table, and Chell was standing, furious, across from him. "They probably have some kind of history with each other that I really don't want to know about. Let's see what Shiya was up to today instead."

Shulk took a good look at the room, trying to decipher what Shyia might be up to. He didn't see much, but from what he did see, Shiya was experimenting with something, and if Shulk could gather anything from how he acted during their fight, he knew exactly what Shiya was experimenting with. That would explain all the flashing light people were complaining about, if nothing else.

Chell stared at Shiya as he suddenly flew into a rage. What was he so angry about anyway? It's like someone broke into his home and invaded his privacy.... Oh wait... Chell's training with her body came in handy as she leapt off her cube, jumped over the blade thrown at her, and landed in front of Shiya and taking out her Portable Thermal Discouragement Beam Rifle and pointing it at his head. "Calm down," Chell commanded rather calmly and holding the gun there for a moment.

"... If I can intervene. I really don't want to have my threads sliced apart, so can we not let me become her last shirt. Really, you don't want to see the mess that was. If not for her, for the love of polyester, for me," The hoodie spoke up on the action. Chell merely rolled her eyes and added onto what she said, "The police think you did something. I know you are not the kind of idiot to be capable of any of those things. So it might be in your best interest to not throw things at me. Understand?" Chell explained the situation, clearly being the bad cop but clearly not intent on removing the gun from Shiya's head until he agreed.

Shulk, being quiet and cautious was very smart! Due to his quite impressive perceptive senses, Shulk was able to notice the mini Monado sticking through the wall where Chell had been standing only a few moments ago. Sadly though as soon as it was there, the knife-like mini model had faded away in a burst of cyan electricity, leaving only a singed stab wound in the plaster that lined the wall of Shiya's poor abode. Speaking of his damaged living arrangement, Shulk would be able to tell by looking around the house a faint glow seeming to emanate on the ground near the couch Shiya had just been sitting on; weird cyan light similar to that Shiya's projects emitted barely leaked out from underneath the structure, suggesting there was more to it than meets the eye.

Meanwhile though~

"Get. Out. Of. My. House." Shiya grunted, gritting his teeth and resisting the incredibly tempting urge to stab Chell as she pointed a rifle at his forehead. "And no, I don't understand." Shiya spat venomously, clearly not at all happy with the current situation he was in. "You break into my house, falsely accuse of god knows what, and you think I'm just gonna take that?!" Just as he finished his statement, Light glowed within Shiya's hand pointing at Chell, the blinding Cyan rays combining and mixing before bursting forth from the Mage's fist. In seconds the interweaving lines of EnerGy expanded and combined, forming a complete structure that Chell would find very familiar.

CH-Im a Racist!

Now pointing a fully functional portal gun at Chell, the barrel positioned underneath her chin, Shiya's eyes burned with hatred. "You left me to DIE, and now you're claiming you all people know of my best interests? You, after breaking down my window into my house after I did absolutely NOTHING WRONG!?" The portal gun began humming to life as Shiya's hand tightened on the trigger. He smirked a bit, showing teeth as he stared down his expressionless antagonist. "You know, I don't even know what this gun does; but I figure it must hurt quite a bit since you're always carrying it around, huh?"

"Now I'm only going to say this one more time."
"Get. OUT!"

(Chell! Shulk! Shiya is armed and dangerous! Either try rolling an 18 + CHA in order convince him away from any violent  resistance, or you could try and attempt to dissuade him in a more violent manner~ Should you attempt to attack Shiya: rolling a 10 or lower, regardless of success, will result in receiving 10% damage from Shiya in retaliation!)

Up, high high in the eerie silent skies above the quaint, quiet home of Shiya Kirigaya, the clouds parted.
A brilliant beacon of light shone down, as if piercing from heaven itself toward earth.
Down through this radiant beam, a handsome, studly winged figure gracefully descended upon the humble house to grace the lowly place with his holy presence.
His wings flapped with the strength of a mighty albatross, his muscles rippled and his abdominals glistened like wave-breaking boulders on the coastline.
And in his powerful arms... he carried Pit.


“Here we are, Captain Pit.”
The Centurion Strongarm announced their arrival.
“Sorry again about taking so lon-”

“It’s fine, whatever, forget about it, we’ll talk about it later, see you at dinner, ‘Donis, Bye!”
Pit cut him off as he hustled out of his grip.
“I’m late enough as it is.”

Figuring he didn’t have time to jump off the roof, being as late as he was, Pit decided the faster way was down through the chimney.

Down in Shiya’s living room a cloud of ash and soot puffed out of the chimney.
Out from under this smoky veil, Pit emerged, brandishing a First Blade sideways like a loose cannon cop.

“Sorry to keep you waiting!”
Pit apologized without breaking stance.

“What did I miss?”
He asked, darting his head and blade around for something sensible to point it to.
“Did we nail the scoundrel yet?”

“Shiya? What are you doing here?”
Pit greeted Shiya as the dust began to clear from his vision.

“Did they assign you on this mission too?”
As the cloud dissipated further it became clear that Shiya and Cell were in a standoff were he was holding a replicated portal gun to her chin.

“Wait… What’s going on here?”

Shulk did a visual sweep of the room, and he could see a faint blueish glow coming out from underneath the couch. Shulk turned to face Shiya and confront him, but came face to face with him propping the barrel of a sleek white gun under Chell's chin.

"Whoa, whoa, hey, Shiya calm down. Let's just--"


Shulk was interrupted by Pit falling out of the chimney. Shooting Pit a cautionary glance, Shulk started over.


"Shiya. Put the gun down, and we'll talk. You know why I'm here, and I would like some answers"

Chell remained a stern look and kept her powerful energy weapon focused on the man's head. That was until he summoned a really familiar gun to threaten her back... Was... That the...? But how? There was no doubt that was the Portal Gun but how did he have it? The idiot clearly did not even know how to use it! ".... Idiot. That is not a weapon. That is a tool," Chell addressed. "Besides, you left ME to die," she added in clear frustration.

Her grip began to tighten on the rifle like weapon when she heard Shulk. She did not her eyes off Shiya until there was a big dust cloud in the room. She looked over and... Was that an angel? Chell was shocked by the sight but suddenly realized this was her chance. Taking the distraction into her hands, she aimed a sweep at Shiya's legs to try and knock him off balance before tackling him to the ground.

"I told you, I do not care what they say. We just want answers. Now. either we talk this out peacefully or I find another way. Unless you don't want to be free anymore, I suggest you co-operate," Chell added firmly as she tried to pin the distraught man.

came quite abruptly crashing down through his chimney, covered in so much soot he could pass off as Dark Pit!

"AAAGH!" Before the mage had even a moment more to comprehend this new surprise, he was completely caught off guard as Chell literally swept his feet out from other him. Bonking his head against the hard floor made Shiya see stars momentarily until he felt the air get forced out of his lungs, his assaulter pinning him to the ground in an even more uncomfortable maneuver. "Ugh... my head..." Shiya groaned, shaking his head momentarily before sending a glare at the girl. "Let me go!" Wriggling back and forth, he tried to free himself from the grapple to no avail.

It was already embarrassing enough he had been caught off guard in his own home, but now he was being pinned down... BY A GIRL! "Pit, home invaders!" He pointed his head towards Chell and Shulk. "A little back up support would be nice, Bro!"

Pit apologetically began to point his First Blade (that for reference, looks like a white gun)….
“I’ve cleared water temples less confusing than this.”
…At Chell. Because two guns pointing at Shiya when he’s pinned down would be redundant.

“Don’t hurt him! Why are you after him?”
Pit asked Chell in sincere failure to understand.
He then took out his Lazer Staff (which for reference looks like a scifi stick but functions like a long gun) and held it in his other hand…
...and pointed it at Shiya.

“And Shiya, why are we after you?”

Shulk stood back, watching the ugly scene in front of him unfold. Nobody seemed to be paying very much attention to him. Using this lack of attention to his advantage, he walked over to the couch that Shiya had been sitting on. There had been a strange glow coming from under here, and the colour reminded him so much of the Monado's default blade. Getting on his knees, Shulk took a closer look.

Chell was growing annoyed that Shiya wasn't answering  her questions as she was beginning to run low on options to get what she wanted without breaking him. Before she could get to applying some force to this argument, she looked at the angel who questioned her... And was pointing a blade gun thing at her... Chell looked down at Shiya before removing her hands and standing up slowly before grabbing hold of her Portable Thermal Discouragement Beam Emtitter and... Putting it on her back to holster it.

"Hey! What's the idea?! He abandoned us in some haunted costume graveyard midmission! Seriously, the taste in apparell was absolutely atroci-MMMPH!" A voice began to snap back while Chell did her motions. The voice was coming from Chell but she was not moving her mouth and it did not sound like her and strangely shut up when Chell pulled the hood of her blue and orange hoodie up and tightened it.

"There was that, yes. That is not why I am here though. I heard he was making a scene at the house of that twisted therapist with the giant tree house. I fought with her before but she got away. She is up to something and I want to stop it. I want to know what he knows about her."

"Really? That's all? Geeze, I know you have serious problems with people but all this over a petty grudge is a little-MMMMMMPH! Stop that!"

"He could be working with her.  Regardless, I want information on Dr. Rosalyn. Now," Chell added before glaring down at the man.

Shiya was so relieved that his best(and only) friend was here to help him out! That's Pit for ya though, reliable if anything else. Pit the helpful, Pit the great friend.

"Pit, you traitor."

Shiya had no other words for his friend as he noticed another weapon to match the one aiming at his attacker... aiming at Shiya. Well, he was right about one thing: Pit was back up.... FOR THE OTHER SIDE! "..." Stewing in his own anger as a dark hue overcame his expression, Shiya waited patiently while Chell got off of him, not even really caring much for what she said. Something about a tree house, therapist, and apparently Chell was a pretty good ventriloquist. ...but the important part was, now was Shiya's chance to get out of here before something worse happened! Getting up and onto his feet, Shiya pulled out a three small metal orbs from his pocket, roughly the size of a marbles, before throwing them against the ground. "SMOKE BOMB!"

...

...

Nothing happened for the longest time as the balls merely clattered down onto the ground. "...Damni-" the failed escapist muttered, halfway through his curse before the pellets finally activated, in seconds filling the room with smoke that obscured all sight, emitting a hissing noise all the while. "ACK-*COUGH COUGH COUGH*" Coughing in surprise himself, Shiya was momentarily stunned before springing into action; kicking over his couch and causing the furniture to unfortunately fall onto the peering Shulk, a series of metallic clanks and shrieks sounded as the smoke was finally starting to clear. "You'll never take me aliiiive..." His overeager voice declared, as it soon faded away in an effect mirroring some sort of long distance.

When the scene finally settled and the smoke had finally cleared; Shiya was nowhere to be found. Instead, besides Shulk being now 1-couch heavier, the room would look almost exactly the same... minus a large metal trap door wide open that the couch had previously been covering, an unearthly azure light spilling out through it.
