Night wasn’t usually a very jovial time for the Life Sphere. When the sun went down, most fled for their homes expecting the worst, whether it be criminals with nothing to lose or the possible invasion of the Starvia, but tonight was about celebration of the spooky and mysterious variety. The streets felt welcoming with the pumpkin décor, lights and ornaments were strung about the buildings. They lacked the polish that one would associate with the usual tiny plastic pumpkins since they looked to be made from the spare scraps of old ships. The metal from their hide being malformed into pumpkin shapes and an LED from the command console lighting up the trinkets’ mouth.

As stated in the formal letter from Toadsworth, they made a path leading toward Harvest Acres, a relatively unrecognised section of the bubble. For some this would be their first visit to the small farm land. The barn wasn’t too difficult to miss, search lights spun around wildly on its roof switching through a variety of different tones and tints which brightened the dark sacred night sky. While the barn seemed to be the life of the party, a sign directed guests to entered through the manor neighboring it, no doubt to sign in, do coat checks, and enter the ballet for best costume. The line to get in was a decent size, there only seemed to be a small group waiting to get in which meant that people are usually waved through quickly. The one regulating the line was none other than ROB, strange it didn’t usually appear around the Life Sphere, it was far more common to see its successor A.I.M. Wait, was A.I.M. also dressed up for this event?

As the other party goers arrived they would take notice of those who were ahead of them in line. The first would probably be Moundo as he was the largest, though his colouration was off, sporting a smoke gray and lava red top rather than his usual deco, in fact he kind of looked like a certain grumpy volcano. Next to him was a very tall looking Luigi, like someone had stretched Luigi to the point that he looked like a twig. It would appear to be Waluigi given the facial structure. In front of that duo was a tiny rat figure, wearing a Phanto mask that was easily bigger than his own body. Next to him was… Shadow? No wait, Shadow doesn’t have green eyes. His shoes also seemed more akin to Sonic’s. Strange that a leading figure in the Life Sphere had to wait in line, his feet suggested that he wasn’t all too patient. Ahead of them was Lt Surge, no costume, arms crossed as usual and still wearing sunglasses despite being night… Next to him was his co-worker, MC Ballyhoo clad in some sort of vampire garb. Finally at the front of the line was Blood Falcon next to what seemed to be a giant Mega Mushroom with a little pair of arms and legs, might be Officer Blewit but it was impossible to determine since there wasn’t a face hole or eye holes for that matter.

As someone would approach the back of the line they would catch a bit of Moundo and Waluigi’s conversation.

“… Still though, anyone would be better suited to host this party. Toadsworth is a stick in the mud”

“I ne'er said otherwise, why'd yah even come then?”

“Any event that involves both ladies and dancing Waluigi is on top of it”

“Ha hah! If I had hands I’d pat yah on the back!”

“Wheh, luckily you don’t, you’d probably crush me”

“Waluigi, if I had hands they'd be the most gentle hands on Li!”

“Sure they would, sure they would”

[Coolshaymin]

Black Mage waited in front of a rather annoying bee, just his luck. Well, Black might be mistaken for his more physical ally and magic user of both types, Red Mage. He was wearing Red Mage's typical clothing, a red cape with mostly red attire accompaning it. With the edition of a Feathered Hat like the Red Mage's as well as a plastic sword. He would of brought a real sword, but he could not carry one due to his weak strength. The main differances being he was scrawnier and his face was still concealed in shadow somehow.

Charmy's Costume was based on his idol Shadow with a helmet to give a substitute of quills, and plenty of paint. Aside him was his most loyal servant, Steve. It was not dressed of course because its an ordinary bee, what did you expect? "So, how long do you think this line will go on, Mr. Mage?"

"I don't know."

"... Come on, don't be like that, today is a great day!"

Black Mage sighs, "Why do I have to be surrounded by idiots..." Black Mage mutters under his breath. He hated waiting and this bee isn't helping.

"Are you getting mad, Mr. Mage?"

... Black Mage can't just yell at this kid, can he? Wait a second...

"What is it, Mr.-"

"Shhhhhhhhh. Listen."

Charmy cocked his head and decided to do what Black Mage says.

Black Mage sighs, Finally peace for a little bit.

[Maverick Hunter Zero]

Mewtwo and Ragna were in the line as well, though what they were wearing would throw anyone off...

Mewtwo had gotten a hold of the armor he once wore to supposedly focus his unnatural Psychic power, as well as a half-tone armor that he himself had salvaged from somewhere, the armor may have been heavy, but thanks to Mewtwo's psychic powers, it was rendered light enough for him to still move in, making him look like an oddball version of Master Cheif.

Ragna on the other hand was in a different get-up altogether, his white hair slicked down to wher it was no longer spiky, but sleek, he had placed a contact lense over his green eye so that it would match his red eye perfectly. He had ditched his heavy red jacket, black hakama, and bloodscythe for a red trenchcoat, black venetian jeans, and a three foot long nerf broadsword, he also had two toy guns in police-grade holstersand quite ironicly made his Dante appearence all the more recognisable.

Neither of them were talking, just listening to others and waiting for the festivities to begin.

She had been at a complete loss as to what to wear to the event. Just the preparation for the event, rushed as it was, had become rather exciting. Having changed her costume decision nearly at the last minute Cynder fiddled with the fine adjustments as she hurried along the well distinguished path to the barn, practically beaming as she went.

The dragoness had spotted an entry in some fancy machine that was the subject of her party outfit. A pokemon, canine none-the-less, but it looked rather powerful and prideful. Well fitting for herself she believed. Best part was there was little material she required to fit the part. Darkening her scales to a black sheen was easy enough, there was red dirt enough around to slather across her underbelly to tone down her bright magenta to the muddy orange required, as well as paint some along her muzzle. All that was left was finding some bangles to attach to her back legs, three somewhat comfortable fitted metal curves to sit on her back and strap across her belly so they didn't fall off, and a metal oval charm to hang from her collar.

A perfect houndoom impersonation. In her opinion she looked better, perhaps even maybe like that mega transformation or whatever they called it. Or was it just a 'shiny' version? It didn't matter. Folding her wings in tight to her body she slowed herself near the end of the line.
"Ooh, a line?" she complained. It was a massive barn! With a slight huff she edged up close to the red wizard looking being and poked her head around him. "Hey there, mind pulling in your cape so I can see?" she questioned the figure as she momentarily stood on her hind legs to gain some height.

From the skies, a distant screech could be heard as the zebesian terror landed on the ground to the festivities. Is this really where his life had gone now? ridiculous costumes and parties...Ridley sighed, space pirates climbing along the floors and wall's began to flood the barn. A morale boost would serve a army well, so ridley begrudgingly let his army come into this party. What was the point to this ridiculousness in any case? Ridley actually let one of his space pirate minions lead him around the festivities, to lead him through what to do to try and have this "fun" they keep talking of. Hardly fun, ridley's version of fun was the smell of war and blood.

Ridley's get up was not entirely recognizable, considering such a difference in frame's between the two characters. But ridley's entire body was covered in a deep green colors, his under belly bright tan with spikes sticking from his chest, stomach and waist. Ridley's wings were folded into his body, making him seem more like he was wingless. His eyes had turn to deep red with use of contacts, a third red eye places above his two with a guard of some kind in between all three. this appearance was meant to replicate his college Kraid.

Landing in the decorated street, everyone's favorite little puffball hopped off of his slightly crash prone warp jet with his costume already on. Kirby's face was covered by a metal mask, only having a slant for him to look out of with bright yellow eyes glowing through. Kirby's back was draped with a black cape, that held kirby's very own warp star style logo against it to differentiate kirby from his rival who he was mimicking with his costume. Infact, kirby's Warp jet was now designed to look like a mini halberd.

"Poyo~!" Kirby said as he looked at everything, before stopping and then giving a lower and darker "Poyo..." To represent his rival's dark voice. If only kirby could do a Spanish accent. Kirby's body still remained its every bright cotton candy pink, despite having some kind of blue paint somewhere in li he could borrow. Eh, it will do. Everyone loves kirby's pink colors, so why change!

The Shadow imposter was growing ever more reckless as he waited in the line. He was a leader of the Life Sphere, did he really need to wait here? Why couldn’t he just wander into the party without having to deal with this line? His attention eventually honed to the back of the line, feeling lucky that he didn’t end up like those poor saps, though one thing threw him off. Someone stole his costume idea and it looked to be Charmy. The blue blur quickly speeded over toward the costume thief. “Hey! You stole my idea!” the hedgehog accused as he pointed at the larger bee. “Not that it matters though, I can play Shadow WAY better than you, just watch.” As the rodent finished his brow line furrowed, he grew a strong frown, and folded his arms across his chest. “Damn everything, one second I’m having a flash back” he mocked as he gripped his forehead and finished with a laugh.

The others in the line seemed to be rather uninteresting in the newcomers to the line. Lt. Surge recognised a couple of them, respected none of them so he continued to stand there fairly sternly. He was only here for the dating service, the guy doesn’t have time to get women while he’s busy hosting matches between a couple of nobodies.

The ROB look-alike shifted its gaze upon the crowd after overlooking the list that was placed in front of it. “Units, Blewitt, Mouser, Captain Falcon, Sonic, Waluigi, Moundo, Surge, and MC Ballyhoo please proceed inside. The rest of you shall be attended to later”

With that the entire group sighed with relief, both Moundo and Waluigi turned around to laugh at the ones who had to stay behind. They promptly rushed toward the manor, slight tremors underneath the footsteps of the titanic rock. The speedy few did not waste time getting within the building.

The bass of the music coming from the barn echoed in the distance, along with the crazed shouts and woos coming from the party goers. It was quite the racket, but it sounded like the people were having quite a bit of fun. Unfortunate that the group couldn’t enjoy it just yet.

A couple minutes passed by, then suddenly the power at the manor seemed to cut out. The glowing lights disappeared from the windows and everything seemed to quiet for a brief period of time. Well, the house was quite anyway, the barn a couple yards away was a different story. It wasn’t until the deathly scream of an elderly man sliced through the air like a knife and suddenly the light returned.

A.I.M. turned its head a full 180 to investigate and soon after leapt off its podium and rocketed through the door. Well, there were two options now, investigate or sneak into the party now that the security drone was distracted.

Black Mage found it weird that a dragon was now in front of the bee, but he was happy regardless. Then she brought up the reason he never normally wears a cape. They just get in the way, but he did lose a bet with Red Mage so he had no hope to dress as him, cape and all. "Yeah, sure," Black Mage said, moving his cape aside at the beings request since she seperated him from the bee. He did het a glimpse, was this some kind of Hell Hound? ... No, it definitely had that dragon stench. Apparently the dragon simply chose to wear a Hell Hound outfit of sorts... Though how she managed that was beyond him.

Charmy was about to make a comeback to the faker of his hero's remark, but he was off too soon for the party. Then he noticed some dog thing was now in front of him, that was odd. Well, Charmy wanted a look to, so while humming incoherently, he flew up a bit and looked over the line.

A fox was too busy modding his gadgets as he looked at his clock and realized he was late for the party. Greeeeat. he better hurry if he wants to make it. Tails ran to his closet, which was full of Shoes except for his outfit. Tails costume was weird, in fact he kinda did not want to put it on. But Cream worked so hard on it, he guessed he pretty much had to, he did not want to disappoint or lie to her after all. The costume was what looked like Cream's clothes but made to fit on Tails and had shorts so it wasn't crossdressing. It also came with fake rabbit ears... Well, he had no choice, Cream did say she made a outfit based on him too. Sighing heavily, Tails put on the outfit and fake rabbit ears. Tails found this too weird but he made a commitment to do it. Hurrying out the door, Tails used his two tails to fly to the party. Getting tired when he approached, Tails landed at the back.

Very shortly after the Two-tailed fox arrived, a scream was heard. "Great, no party I go to can go uninterupted," Black Mage mumbled.

"That does not sound good, I'm going to go see what's going on!" Charmy said.

"I'm curious too, I'm going with the bee," Black Mage said.

"I wonder what happened... Huh? Sonic said he was going but... Oh no!" Tails said quickly to himself. Tails was worried about Sonic and quickly to enter the party. If something bad happened, the line does not matter!

Mewtwo and ragna did not attempt to remove themselves from the line, inquisitive as they were, they did nothing to the contrast of dealing with other peoples or beings affairs.

A barn house decorated with all of the typical eerie decorations and doo-dads that were seen around this time of year, though he had no reception on his phone and he hadn't received a single message from the reapers yet the time and date still worked on it and it was clear as clear could be: 12AM October 31st. Halloween. Things like these had always been loud, rowdy, something going wrong and a bunch of idiots were always missing after a while, but right now it was the perfect place where people were gathering an hopefully the teen would be able to scan something useful out of someone, a name, a place, anything would be good right about now. But there was one thing wrong, he didn't have a costume. But Neku wasn't from here and most of the people and creatures here were beyond bizarre. Point in case, the Anthropomorphic Bee dressed up as a Black Hedgehog, and an Anthropomorphic Fox dressed up like a bunny, yeah. Seems perfectly normal.

'These have got to be the weirdest things I've ever seen in my life, or maybe it's just a dream. Yeah, I'll just wake back up in Shibuya like nothing ever happened.......... I wish.' The headphone wearing teen thought with a sigh as he waited in line for his turn to go in, a group had already proceeded within the confines of the barn though he was annoyed at the two who were mocking the others that were left to wait in line for the next group to be let in, but his turn should be soon. And perhaps a little too soon.

After a few minutes there was a black out which confused Neku as he looked up to see nothing was powered currently and it was pitch black inside there, if there were any bat noise then count him out because Neku had already been through that twice before. But still when the blood curtailing sound of an old man's scream cut through the silence like it was nothing, suddenly everyone payed attention to where it was coming from to see what had gone on once the lights were back on which though meant that people could see what as going on now it still spelt trouble as the Pyschromancer was paranoid about Noise(The creatures from the Reaper Games) following him into this world as it could be a few people had gotten erased just then. But there was no timer on his hand so the game couldn't be on, so someone might have been murdered.

'Whatever that was...... I got a bad feeling about it.' Neku thought while hesitating for a bit about going into the mansion, sure someone might have gotten killed but then his mind remembered something. 'Oh I get it. It's one of those murder parties where we gotta find the one that supposedly 'killed' the first group of people. But still.....' without a second of hesitation now Neku began walking into the building which the scream came from and that the robot who was the one seeing who was admitted or not was inside and looking for the cause of the black out and potential murder. So why not get in now while he could?

'Just hope no Noise appear. I haven't even got a partner.'

"Thank you," Cynder muttered when the cape was held aside so she could see. Just in time to hear the call of who was allowed inside. Her eyes narrowed in an annoyed frown, then even more so when the lanky plumber and the small mountain made their giggling exit. "I wonder..." came the start of a trailing thought regarding revenge. The rest was carried on silently as indicated by her shifting visage.

When the scream rang out, sending shivers down her spine, the dragoness of course locked her turquoise eyes on the barn. Wasn't that where Ridley and his terrible crew of pirates raided a few minutes ago? Cynder lashed her tail against the ground producing a loud scraping noise as it contacted with a rock on the pathway. If that deranged space lizard or his band of misfits ruined her party...

A bit of a snarl escaping her Cynder followed with the others to the barn. As she ran she brought out her wings a little, thus breaking her 'flawless' impersonation of a houndoom but perhaps making her a little more intimidating in the dark despite her standing of only a near four feet tall.

The yellow Pac had been running horribly late but finally made it to the party. He ran up to the back of the line and bent over placing his hands over his knees whirl he took in some deep breathes. Running the whole way here might have not been the best idea but it got him here. As it was a costume party, he wasn't dressed up to look like someone else but instead he wore a white hooded robe that was tattered around the bottom with a light blue lining that went around the end of the arms. Admittedly, it looked funny on him but he intended for it to make him look like a spirit channeler.

After regaining his stamina, he picked himself up and looked upwards at the spinning lights and decorations. Peering around the others in line, the sudden scream made him nearly lose his balance. Tottling on one foot, he eventually brought himself back to ground. Was this the Toadsworth guy he got the letter from? He stopped and watched as the robot flew away from its post where it was checking people. Hopping out of line he ran over to investigate.

A.I.M. burst down the entrance to the manor in a rather urgent and swift punch. The doors didn’t do much to resist the impact and the result of the machine’s actions gave all the observers an eyeful. The main foyer of the building, people all around, and the trophy of the host of the party himself, Toadsworth directly at the center. Sonic and the Mouser were at the west wall, Waluigi and Moudo at the northwest corner, Jack (the owner of the Manor) upon the stairs northward, Lt Surge and MC Ballyhoo at the northeast corner, and lastly Officer Blewit and Captain Falcon at the east side of the room along with an Eggman robot that was not in line earlier, Eta. Some other notable things in the room was an empty shelf at the west wall in between the two groups on that side of the room.

The entire attention of the room was honed in on the trophy of Toadsworth, everyone looking to be in some sort of shock because of it. It was soon altered to the northwest corner, all the eyes giving a judging gaze. Moundo, of the two, looked most offended by this immediately shouting “what’re y’all staring at?!” Waluigi rolled his eyes, expecting the fact that they were going to be blamed for this.

“The only people in this room that have a criminal record” Captain Falcon answered for the majority of the room.

“I don’t even have a strike! Besides if it were me then you would’ve felt it!”

“Wheh, you think that Waluigi would waste his time with such petty crimes? Waluigi already has two strikes!”

Sonic stepped forth then, stomping his bright red shoe down and pointed toward the machine on the opposite end of the room. “Are you all insane? It was Eggman’s robot! Why else would that thing be here anyway!”

The machine starred directly back at Sonic. “This unit was instructed to enjoy itself, Dr. Robotnik gave it this freedom for tonight only”

“Do you really expect me to believe that?!”

“This unit does not expect you to act rationally whatsoever, your judgement is forever clouded by your biased”

“Oh yeah?!!!” the hedgehog then took a battle stance, preparing to run at the robot and destroy it alongside the many he had ripped apart in the past.

“Wheh, I agree with the robot. This seems awfully convenient for the rat that one of Mario’s representatives was attacked, besides he’s the fastest of us all, could’ve done that in seconds.” The lanky plumber stated as he pointed at the trophy yet again.

“Eh! Who you calling a rat? You better watch yourself, buddy” the mouser snapped at Waluigi.

The quickly went into an uproar, people throwing accusations at each other as though it were a food fight. MC Ballyhoo was arguing with his hat as usual, Sonic and Eta were at each other’s throats (not literally, Eta didn’t have much of a throat regardless), and fingers were constantly being pointed at different people. The things being said couldn’t be determined since it formed into one collective auditory mess. Every voice in the room trying to claim their own opinion, though the screechy voice of a certain toad wasn’t present. Officer Blewit was the only one other than Jack not speaking. Jack just seemed coldly furious, the police officer’s expression couldn’t be seen underneath his costume. His costume could be the sole reason for his silence considering that it was probably incredibly hot underneath and fairly restrictive of his person.

The LED on the top of A.I.M.’s head began to flash and a overtly loud siren sounded off in order to grab everyone’s attention. The machine analyzed each being in the room coldly and hovered over to the body of the elderly toad. “Silence, this unit shall bring unit Toadsworth to get repaired, no one leaves this building until then.” The machine’s head spun around to check for the ones in line that decided to follow behind. “All units are assigned to monitor this building until this unit returns. Until then, it is advised to solve this mystery. The culprit cannot be allowed to escape.” With that, the machine gripped the statue of the host within its clunky claws and flew out the door.

Grasping his forehead in displeasure, the ranch owner wandered past Sonic and Mouser and into the next connecting room. The two rodents followed after him, seeming to be in a fairly rotten mood over the entire endeavor. Lt Surge nodded his head at them and tapped MC Ballyhoo signalling him to follow. This left Waluigi and Moundo to scowl in their corner, insulted by the events and being the first to be blamed. Captain Falcon leant against the nearest wall, assuming a sort of resting position, expecting to be there for quite some time, while his mushroom dressed companion just sat on the ground. Eta didn’t move whatsoever, continuing to be stationary and possibly analyzing the situation.

Tails was shocked by the scene in front of him, who would want to kill Toadsworth? He was always so polite and kind it was unthinkable. While Tails would be ready to blame Eggman's robot like Sonic, he knew pointing fingers would help no one. Besides, what reason would Eggman have to take out Toadsworth? It didn't make much sense either way.

Black Mage just looked from one point to another, not thinking much of it. It was a killing, some people enjoyed it, Black Mage had no need to question it. Though he was not sure if anyone in this room shared that philosophy. The only people he knew kinda personally was Captain Falcon and Officer Blewitt... Now that he thinks about it, Officer Blewitt has been kinda silent... Either way, this event disrupted his party and therefore he not let the culprit leave. With that logic he took out his knife and stood by the door. "I'll check who enters and make sure no one leaves. You guys handle the investigation."

Charmy looked from side to side, was this an actual murder? Why would somebody murder on Halloween? ...Wait... It did not matter anyway. Charmy was finally going to be able to use his detective skills for good, unmistakenably! It was his time to shine! He could not waste this moment. Perhaps he could be known as more than the 'Chaotix Goofball'!

Tails begins to follow Sonic mostly out of instinct before someone tugs on one of his tails. "Huh?" He turns around and sees Charmy with a pleading face... "What is it, Charmy?"

"Can I come with you? I need a partner to help me investigate. I can even give you advice I got from the best detective, Vector!"

"... Uh, I don't kno-" Before Tails can finish he notices tears in Charmy's eyes. After a bit of hesitation, "Fine, but we are seeing Sonic first."

"Yes sir!" Charmy said as Tails turned and heded for the living room while Charmy followed, "...By the way, why are you dressed as a rabbit?"

Tails was slightly flustered by Charmy's comment, "No real reason. Why are you dressed as a hedgehog?"

"Because it was Maria's wish," Charmy said as low pitched as his high pitched voice could muster. Tails gave  a laugh just to keep Charmy from doing the crying thing.

With that, they made their way to Sonic.
