Character Name:
K-class Marauder unit #055
Serial number 79X1
Home Planet/Origin:
A distant planet called only 99-109-45 (coordinates)
Preferred Motto:
"Nothing lasts forever."
Appearance:
K-55's lowest most body, the portion of him that could be actually be considered a part of him, is a 5ft 6in humanoid figure of roughly humanoid stature. The body is smooth, sleek, with partially exposed synthetic muscles underneath thin black plates that give it the look of a heavy, but fit, human. This body's arms are also unnaturally long, reaching down to K-55's ankles, to accommodate the later layers of armor. The head of this body is a vaguely skull-shaped mass of sensors that allow K-55 to see in 360 degrees, even through itself and it's own armor (although not through other objects). This body contains the power plant core, a killswitch to shut down K-55's sensitive systems in the event of an EMP or virus, and a pair of Positronic brains that, when working in conjunction with one another, give K-55 better reflexes than a normal human. When reduced to this layer, K-55 is roughly as fast and strong as a normal human, but lacks any of his typical weapons or attacks, being reduced to simple punches and kicks.
The first layer of armor consists of thin, overlapping layers of powerfully-made and dense materials. The layers of armor also have a single chest piece (as opposed to layers of thinner, layered armor). This layer does little to dissuade K-55's inhuman appearance, and does not cover his head at all. This layer is a deep black with silver highlights across it, particularly at the knees and elbows. This armor also adds a heavy-looking shoulder armor that gives the whole mechanism a heavy, hunched-over feeling. While this does cut down on maneuverability, it hardly matters due to the next several layers of armor.
The second layer of armor is thicker, bigger, and heavier. It adds onto K-55 a new, smooth pair gauntlet, and the first head covering, a solid dome of semi-transparent plastic-like material. This layer also adds thick "servos" over K-55's elbows and knees that increase his strength.
The third layer of armor is far larger than the others, dwarfing them considerably. In fact, this armor is more "piloted' rather than "worn," really. It gives K-55 most of his height and bulk, and contains all of K-55's weapons (listed below) on top of providing most of the weaponry. This layer provides K-55 with it's incredible strength, and is a shining silver in form, with black under forms. The head now takes on it's form, a blank dome-shape, with a red stripe starting at the back and coming all the way around to the front. This layer also adds the particle cannon, which hangs off of K-55's back in a setup similar to a tank turret, pointed down. The turret features a large rail system that can be grabbed onto (in case the mechanism fails, the cannon can be moved into place manually). When active, the turret spins to face up, then adjusts so that the entire turret is on K-55's shoulder. The barrel isn't long, a mere foot and a half. When a shot is fired, the back of the turret opens, revealing four super-heated rods from the back, venting heat from the entire mechanism. The gauntlets of this layer of armor also contain the electrodes necessary for the Stunning Fist attack to function properly, as well as both the needles to be fires, as well as the spools of wire and tiny motors with spools to retract them.
The final layer of armor fits over all previous layers as a massive chest piece, gauntlets, and grieves. These pieces are massive, nearly 5in thick, and are sloped, similar to the armor of a massive tank. This armor's various minor parts are all interconnected by heavy straps of thick, heavy cloth. However, these straps actually do nothing, as the armor is already interconnected to K-55's body, and even breaking these straps will do nothing but interrupt the aesthetic of the armor. If this layer of armor is damaged heavily, severely warped from prolonged harm, or succumbing to a status (such as acid) it can be relinquished, causing it to fall to the ground. Individual parts can not be ejected. Instead, if one goes, they all go. This armor, unlike the previous layer, is a matte-finished dull gray, and it includes K-55's military designation numbers, which are as follows.
"MARAUDER TYPE-II K-55"
written on collar
This is K-55's callsign
"79X1
10-29-XX"
Written on left hip
This is K-55's serial number and date of "creation."
"FAB K-55
87 BA 90"
written on the sides of both the right and left legs.
This is akin to a call number, with his designation (Full Armor Battalion) as well as his unit number (87) his sector (B+A, coordinates) and his commanding officer (Commanding Computation 90).
Alignment:
Neutral
History On Li:
After countless ages spent shut down, the planet was discovered, found by explorers that had come to looking for land for terraforming, ignorant of the fate of the world. There, they discovered the graves of the world that was, and the remains of the race that once was. These remains were gathered up, and ultimately, it was in this grim harvest of machinery that K-55's corpse was brought to the surface. The machinery ended up in museums predominantly, documenting the plight of these once noble people, but some of the machinery was sold into private collections. It is here that K-55's new "life after life" began.
Being sold from one collector to another over the course of many years, K-55's body was passed from one place to another, displayed in various locations. Over time, he was cleaned up, and eventually sold for restoration. It was here that he was fixed up, painted, and the layers of armor were discovered to be his own, not other robots as previously believed, and his systems began to be repaired. It was at this time that he was brought to the Mushroom Kingdom, where he was to have his final repairs completed. The repairs were going well, at first, and K-55 was in the process of being repaired, and his systems were to restart as soon as they had the power to do so. However, while K-55's replenished form was still inert, the private collector that had been repairing him sadly fell ill with Starvia, and though his body was not found, he has wandered off to parts unknown. Now, with his reactors nearly at full power, the Dual Positronic brains are beginning to come online, and very soon, the Marauder unit will again rise.
Storied History:
Somewhere in the darkness of space, a planet of "Automatic Lifeforms" toiled away at the behest of unseen masters. These robots worked in mines, bringing raw materials to the surface, while others molded these together, and still others constructed more machinery and robots. The masters were never seen, and discontent was sewn between the machines. Soon, the beings began to break down, dying where they stood. When this started, at first, they buried their dead, as the living might. However, the death toll became so catastrophic that there were more dead than living, and eventually it became a moot point. The corpses of the dead and dying littered the ground of the world, and the robots began banding together, forming small camps, and going against their basic programming, no longer working. This divided the beings down the middle- those that wished to continue to follow the orders of their masters, and those who wish to simply stay alive. Things began as simple disagreements, followed by small skirmishes between the sides. Things soon devolved into war between the existing robots,and in that time, they invented many powerful, new varieties of machine men to aid them in their war efforts. It was at this time that the Marauder type robot was created. This robot being was designed to be indestructible, to last forever, and never cease in functioning under any circumstances. But alas, as the days of this planet came to a close and the robot population ceased functioning, the war having taken it's toll on their population, and all resources, most notably fuel, was, eventually depleted. So it was that K-55 ultimately found what he supposed to be his final resting place, collapsing after a long, hard war, his comrades dead, his cause shattered and his heart collapsing.
Primary Attacks(3):
1. Force Crush: K-55 throws a massive haymaker punch. This punch is incredibly slow, telegraphed horribly, and lacks range, but the size of the fist and the force behind the punch generates a huge burst of wind that can thrust foes away from K-55. He's so slow that he doesn't bother following it up with a combo.
2. Heavy Slam: K-55 raises his hand high above his head and thrusts it down with might force. If he is in motion, this attack can also come at diagonals or horizontal.
3. Persistent March: K-55 simply, well, walks toward his target. He puts his chest out and his arms forward, shoving foes out of the way. While he is walking like this, K-55 is even less likely to flinch.
Special Attacks(3):
1. Particle Cannon: K-55's cannon (located on his left shoulder) fires a small burst of energy. The energy travels in a parabolic arc and burst upon contact with an object, forcing objects and enemies away from the point of impact. The bursts can be lethal to heavily damaged foes, but is not typically able to kill.
2. Stun Fist: K-55 charges his hand with electricity. The hand can then be placed upon his target, or a pair of tiny spikes can be fired from the palm. These spikes are attached to wires nearly 20ft in length. The spikes are too minuscule to pierce much more than one or two layers of skin or clothing. The electricity from the hand or the spikes are unable to generate lethal amounts of electricity, but they are able to stun foes.
3. Anti-Personnel Burst: K-55 fires a burst of heat out from his vents. This heat forces foes, objects, projectiles, and cold air away from his body with vigorous force. The heat fired out can scald foes, but it only lasts a few seconds, and isn't exactly capable of killing.
Ultimate Attack(1):
Death Hauler
K-55 removes his three layers of armor, and his particle cannon. The layers and cannon are rearranged and attached to K-55's right arm. The functions of the armors and cannon re-arrange, forming a single massive cannon. K-55 can not move around properly with the cannon... because it's heavy. He drags it around (hence the name) and when he finds a target he wishes to annihilate, the cannon fires a single, blast of super-heated plasma that explodes upon hitting an object (similar to the typical particle cannon attack). Afterward, K-55 vents heat rapidly, then replaces his armor.
Allies/Friends:
None, though he's friendly to most robots.
Enemies/Rivals:
None, but he's not terribly fond of those who oppress others. Especially robots.
Any Other Information:
K-55 contains twelve small jets. Two in each foot, two on it's chest, three on it's back, and five around it's waist. These jets are not able to make the Marauder actually fly, but instead are able to allow K-55 to clear small obstacles (like fences) without destroying them, though the ground is usually destroyed when he lands.
The armor that K-55 wears over his mechanical body allow him to endure such ridiculous amounts of punishment that he truly is incredibly difficult to even damage. Most attacks bounce right off of him or simply fail to find purchase in his incredible bulk. However, it puts him at such a tremendous weight that he is easily one of the slowest humanoid constructs ever created. His attacks all move so slowly that he is easily dodged, so he rarely fights at all, preferring to simply walk away.
