Viridi heard of this 'king' and his pet that could sense disasters. That was ridiculous of course, how could that Pokemon possibly predict misfortune, it was illogical. Viridi had to teach this king and his pet a lesson. She found what appears to be a god in the form of a Wolf and treated her nicely and got her to come to the Arena to aide her.  Of course, Viridi did not need it, but 2 on 2 was the rules so she had to accept it. Viridi sent a note with a white owl to Marth's home to challenge him. Viridi now waited in the arena with her staff in the ground, she sat and meditated to be one with nature while she waited for her partner, who she also sent a owl to and her 2 opponents.

Trotting into the large stadium was a white wolf, her fur accentuated with ripples of red and a strange flow to her form that the other would note on Amaterasu's approach. She was accompanied by her usual floating disk, it's swirling calmly with licks of flame, and the ethereal purple beads circling around her neck. The wolf eyed Viridi the entire way, curious as to who she was. Once close enough the sun goddess stopped and seated herself with a light greeting bark, then proceeded to scratch her left ear.

This event should be interesting enough, the area nice and open. It wasn't often Ammy was out under the sun during one of her missions on Li. They always seemed to be in buildings or caves. What a nice change.

Now this wasn't something one saw every day. Marth may have been a veteran of Sunshine Arena, but even he had never done the one other type of fight in this place: A Team battle. He had been challenged, yet again, by someone Named...Viridi? Strange..however, he didn't get where he was by backing down when challenged. Strangely enough though, this person had a very..specific team she wished to fight. She wanted Marth to work with Hoshi for this battle. Which he had no problems with, Hoshi's skills complimented his own rather nicely. Are you ready Hoshi? These two won't be going easy on us. Nobody ever does in this arena. He asked as he walked into the brightly lit arena, Hoshi plodding along beside him, expressionless as usual.

Of course I'm ready Marth, I was the one that saved your tail in the factory after all, remember?  Hoshi shot back with a mental grin when marth asked her if she was ready. She would never tell him, but her master really did act like an old worried man sometimes. Granted, she would never disrespect him by saying so, but it was the truth. He did tend to dote on her in terms of safety. It would be annoying to any other being, but Hoshi found it a bit endearing. She was abandoned by her friends and family a while ago, so it had been some time since she had someone to worry about her, and Marth and Shiida provided that happily. However, as the pair came to a stop a few feet into the arena, all became deathly silent as they waited for the Referee to come and tell them the rules.

The crowd was plentiful as per the usual, though they were somewhat less ecstatic since this time around they had to wait for the arrival of the fighters. Some were there for over three hours and quickly becoming antsy in their seats. They couldn’t leave though, a double battle was such a rare occurrence that every single seat the stadium had to offer was taken. Though once Marth and his pet Absol entered the battlefield they exploded with excitement. Most cheered for the returning champion, rooting for him to keep his wondrous streak going while others were chanting for the underdogs. The statement being quite literal for half of the team anyway. Foam fingers flew into the air as others tossed confetti into the ring as though it were somebody birthday.

The noise in it of itself was enough to attract the attention of the referee.

Both a Jolteon and Raichu came bolting through a passageway underneath the stands. As the two came closer to exiting the tunnel, what they were pulling in tow was becoming more apparent. A sleigh of some sort was revealed in the sunlight, a flash of light reflecting on the driver’s sleek pair of sun glasses. A pompous grin grew on his face as he noticed the four together within the area. The Pokemon switched their course to directly towards the combatants and screeched to a halt when they were close enough, causing a cloud of dirt to disguise both them and the craft they had brought into the arena.

The man jumped off his sleigh and observed the four of them idly as he position himself within the exact center of the four. Lt Surge tore off his glasses and securely placed them on the neck of his tank top. His eyes glanced at Hoshi for a moment, he was somewhat baffled at how the creature could be in its Mega form with the aid of a Megastone, and his owner clearly didn’t have one. He supposed it didn’t matter all that much. “Heh, personally I prefer Electric types” he offhandedly commented toward Marth. He eyed the wolf afterwards. She was clearly not a Pokemon, looked more like a regular Earthly being which gave him a sense that they were somewhat outmatched. He’d let their skills do the talking though.

The Lightning American began to wonder if he should even bother relaying the rules to any of them. Two were animals and might not even understand him, another had already been in a couple fights and know the rules fairly well, and the last one was the girl who posed the challenge to begin with and if she didn’t know the rules then there was a countless number of things wrong with that. “You should all be fairly clear on how things work around here. I catch you trying to get help from outside, killing each other, or trying to fight outside the time limit then we’re going to have some serious trouble. Understand?”

Surge’s Raichu began to wander over to beside his trainer’s leg with a wide grin on his face while chanting its own species name to the sky. The veteran’s eyes darted toward the orange rat as he stopped beside him. “You’re gonna give’em a tunderbolt if they try to cheat aren’t yah, Raichu?” the creature nodded happily toward its master. “That’s my boy” he replied as he brushed the top of the creature’s head.

Perfect, Amaterasu was here and from what Viridi could tell, Marth and his Mega Absol were too. Viridi got up and picked her staff up from the ground. She may look young, but as a Goddess she was actually quite old. She looked to her partner and connected with the wolf mentally. All Gods and Goddesses from her world were capable of Telepathy so having a silent connection with her partner could be useful. Though, Viridi was not quite sure how canine her partner's mind was since all the Gods and Goddesses in her world also took humanoid forms. Oh well, Viridi had the power to communicate with all things in Nature so she should be able to understand her regardless, hopefully. "Testing, testing, respond if you hear me Amaterasu," Viridi said mentally to Amaterasu.

Her attention was then brought to Lt. Surge as he came in. How dare he discriminate between Nature?! Viridi thinks to herself, though she did not want to get bad impressions with the ref. "Of course I understand," Viridi says simply as she grips her staff. It didn't seem the ref has directly announced the start of the match.

So, Viridi took time to look at her opponents. The first one looked more femine than masculine but admittedly nature is weird sometimes and shouldn't be judged... Even if its a human... Then we have an... Absol? Viridi has looked at a picture of an Absol and it certainly is differant. It seems to borrow traits from the human 'class' of emo or goth and that was mildly frustrating. Seriously, why did it look so weird, is this the thing known as Mega Evolution? If so, it is clearly human interferance.

Ammy listened well despite her head moving every which way to take in her surroundings. Such an odd place, but it seemed to suit its purpose well enough. The canine's head snapped toward Viridi when she felt a poke at her mind. A pleasant word and nothing more, of which Amaterasu gave a playful reply: a friendly wash of understanding and excitement. Whether the sun goddess could or couldn't respond in kind to Viridi was debatable as she did so enjoy her games. Lt. Surge on the other hand was given a loud couple barks, the wolf wagging her tail happily back and forth behind her.

As for their opponents, while she hadn't officially met either before they were not unrecognized. She knew of this pair, had heard stories, and as such was not like to underestimate them. Though that was just a good plan for any confrontation, especially one against a duo who seemed to share a sort of bond. Amaterasu lifted a paw to the two and released another playful bark, setting the paw down and readying herself for the match.

She had an idea for a start, conveying a strong sense of warmth and vague notion of the sun over the established mental link. The tip of her tail began to darken and spread to black whilst her Divine Retribution flared up. Now to see if these two believed in gods.

When the referee made an offhanded comment about his preference in types to Marth, he simply chuckled. I didn't pick her because of her type. Though her type does certainly come in handy. He said with a smile before listening to the all too familiar rules once more. When asked if he understood, Marth simply nodded and drew Falchion. He was always ready every time he came here. It was why he was considered by many civilians to be the champion of the sunshine arena. It was a small title compared to the one he wore constantly, but it was an amusing one nonetheless. He made every battle as much a show of skill as he could because of that title, and this would be no exception. Hoshi, I trust that you'll take the wolf on? Marth asked his partner over their telepathic link.

Of course. Hoshi replied as she also nodded, understanding the human language more than most pokemon came in handy in situations like this. She would take on the goddess in the form of a wolf, allowing her master to take on the human girl. It was a good plan, and it allowed their specific strengths to shine through. She had an off feeling about this battle, but for once, she ignored her feeling. She attributed it to pre-battle nervousness, pawing the ground and upturning some of the sand as she waited for the referee to announce the commencement of battle.

Lt Surge didn’t know he bothered to go over the rules with every new contestant, they always seemed to know fairly well in advance. He was contractually obligated though and if he didn’t and the rules were broken he technically could be called out for not stating such a rule to begin with. His Raichu climbed up onto his shoulder as he analyzed the four combatants blankly. It was an odd collection of fighters, but there was no doubt in his mind that this would be an interesting fight to say the least.

“Without further ado then, let’s get this brawl started. Jolteon, if you would please.” The tiny electric fox leapt from the sleigh and came closer to the battlefield. Its front end began to lean its spiky quills began to erect. “On my Jolteon’s pin missile” he announced. Soon after the Pokemon shot one of its quills into the sky in the same sense that a referee would fire off a starting shot. It disappeared into the sky.

As the missile launched into the skies, the three of them raced back to their sleigh in order to escape any sort of crossfire and not interfere with the battle in case it were to come their way.

Amaterasu hunched down ready in her battle stance when the Jolteon trotted forward and prepared for the starting signal. She curled her lips back and began snarling, getting herself psyched and trying to appear as the more menacing one. Even just a plain old wolf was fairly dangerous even if they couldn't see her godly additions. In the next few moments she considered how best to proceed. She hadn't seen these two fight before but knew of a certain pattern everyone in the Sphere seemed to take when it came to fighting as a group; they fought individually. However being a renowned duo they might be a bit different.

Based on the actions of the other two would determine how Ammy proceeded, the sun goddess prepared for swift movements and not attacking. If they charged it would be simple to employ her sun enhancing tactic then go on the immediate offensive. If they remained rooted in a defensive ploy Amaterasu would step forward and jump at the beginning of her charge, keeping low to the ground but feinting she was about to make a ferocious attack opening. Instead it would be her prepared flash flare.

As long as they were looking toward her from the same direction there was a chance the tactic would work, and being they had little way to prepare for the sun suddenly flaring into their eyes she was fairly confident this would work. If they split themselves up however she would focus Marth if there was no easy way to get them back to the same side of her and not leave Viridi open. For any ranged attacks shot in Ammy's direction she was ready for dodging and then enacting her predefined plans.

The sun goddess relayed a sense to follow her lead to Viridi so she did not dash off and attack straight away. Instead after Amaterasu released her flash flare Viridi could follow up with an attack.

...Either this goddess was messing with her or she was pretty intelligent for a canine. Either way from the motion of the sun could be that the wolf was going to do some light based attack. A light based attack would be good for follow up attacks, however they might need to be facing Ammy and if they went for a divide and conquer tactic, that would not be good. Viridi ran towards Ammy and stood next to her. If they were going to approach either of them they would have to approach both this way. "Okay you blind them and I'll help with the follow up attack." Viridi told Ammy over the mental link. Viridi had some attacks that were slow but powerful, so this tactic may be useful.


Viridi of course did not know that Marth and Hoshi also had a mental link, but this made the match fair for they had no way of knowing the same. Viridi would follow the blindingness of the light with a nasty boulder crush with her Cragalanch Crush while they were stunned on Marth. If they decided to keep their distance, Viridi would aide Ammy's assault with a surge of razor sharp flower petals, while Ammy got up close.

When the light around the arena suddenly Intensified, one would have expected Marth to have been blinded by the sudden flash. But, his time in his home world saw him to have battle strategy, and the moment he saw the light become brighter, he closed his eyes and threw his cloak up over his face, protecting his vision and preventing the stunning effect that would have happened. However, he got bashed on the head with the boulder that the other opponent had dropped! It was annoying, but it also hurt. It wasn't going to stop him though, causing him to rush around to the left, Taking a strategical approach and slashing at the human girl!  He didn't just stick with a single slash either. He decided to use the dancing blade combo, starting with a horizontal slash, following it up with a vertical one, and then finishing it off with an overhead slash! He wasn't going to let her go off with another one of her special attacks, definitely not after what happened with the boulder.

Where Marth only barely detected the attack of light, Hoshi sensed a change beginning as it happened, causing her to close her eyes tightly and shield her face with her wings. The minute things returned to normal, she got moving, having not been attacked other than the attempt to blind her, she could get things done quickly. She wasn't going to give Amaterasu the chance to do anything either. She suddenly poured on the speed, lunging forward at the goddess with her claws, her form seeming to blur as she slashed at her opponent with both claws! She followed this up with a close range blast of fire from her flamethrower attack! She was stronger than most other pokemon due to her training with Marth, and because of her higher than average intelligence, which made her a fearsome opponent even on her own. But with marth, and essentially a second set of eyes, she was nigh unbeatable. Sadly, their team ultimate was restricted for fairness. However, they still had plenty of tricks.

“GOOD EVENING LIFE SPHERE!!! Do we ever have a show for you! For the first time in the history of this stadium we have a double battle! And what a momentous occasion for my co-host to return alongside me! What say you, Big Top?”

“Your head beats federal prison I’ll give you that much.”

“Well, I’m just fine with that. At least your not an annoying robot”

“You’re. You’re not an annoying robot.”

“As I said, not a robot. ANYWAYS! This isn’t about us, this is something much bigger than we could ever imagine!”

“The only difference is that there are two more people in the arena this time, I don’t see what’s the big deal.”

“AHA HA HA! Why do you only serve the purpose of crushing my dreams, Big Top?”

“You’d be too happy otherwise.”

“Well, okay then. Glue yourself in folks! This is only a fraction of the excitement you’ll be witnessing today!”

“Our arguing is that exciting?”

“The match you half-witted hat!”

Viridi was glad the Boulder hit while Marth was distracted, but he seemed to recover quickly and was even already attacking. Too bad only no one got blinded or her and Ammy could prepared a followup. Viridi was set for the sword combo as she started expertly blocking with her staff, "Do you think you're just fighting a 'young' girl and a wolf? Well, you'd be more foolish than I thought," Viridi said as what appeared to be a seed appeared in her hand that wasn't holding the staff and threw it at him as he recovered. If it succeeded Viridi would send a mental message to Ammy, "Okay, if you have any techniques that can form plants, I'd be happy if you helped with this." If the Reset Bomb hit, Vines would start forming on Marth, since their purpose was to restore things to a natural state, but since the factory was destroyed, these are a smaller, weaker model. Either way, Viridi would do a uppercut motion afterwards to summon a tree to spring up underneath Hoshi for a powerful uppercut, "Help with Sword boy and I'll help deal with the Absol."

srfby5uvp_1d20 The blinding speed at which the Mega Absol approached after her trick was unexpected. Amaterasu was unable to bring up any defense, and surprisingly despite being prepared for dodging around with her own inherent speed the pokemon still got the drop on her. The pair of slashes raked first across her neck as she turned away to move, and the second on her shoulder.

p_1d20 The sun goddess shuffled to the side and was going to reposte, unfortunately she somehow managed to stumble thus loosing the opportunity to take advantage of the time it took Hiroshi to prepare her flames. The best she could accomplish was to bring her divine retribution around to block part of the attack from her face.

Viridi's familiar voice popped into her head at about this time, an idea instantly popping up in Amaterasu's mind. The flamethrower beginning to die down the sun goddess prepared five of her resurrection beads and fired them at point blank, since Absol was practically within clawing distance yet, as she saw the last of it disappear around her. The ethereal beads would pack quite the punch at such a close range, and would return a few nice burns. The main portion of it though would be the knock back, which would allow Ammy to maneuver around to attack Marth. That or the absol would have to dodge a fairly wide radius to avoid the entire spread of beads, which would still give the wolf time to spin around and back off.

Her legs aching with the burns and the general smell of burning hair surrounded Ammy, though her coat was still surprisingly white considering, the sun goddess slipped around to Marth. Being the goddess of the sun, carrying a constantly flaming weapon, and her ultimate being what it was, the few burns were fairly easy to ignore. Though the areas were likely a bit sensitive now. As she passed she noted the bomb in the air and targeted it. This would be perfect. Her tail inking black Amaterasu made use of her green sprout ability to amplify the seed's strength and spread.

Being that she was capable of making plant life grow astronomically faster than normal, the vines bursting from the seeds would become thicker and longer, making the strength of their grapple better, their range wider and harder to dodge, and harder to hack threw in a single swipe. The canine didn't stop running there though, she continued to Marth and aimed to trip him with a snap of her jaws whether the bomb hit or miss.
