Character Name: Dr. Shrunk
Home Planet/Origin:
The Village (Animal Crossing Universe)
Preferred Motto:
"The doctor is OUT!"
Appearance:
Shrunk’s appearance is closer to his in New Leaf than it is in City Folk. He dons a more professional attire, though whether or not he decides to tend to that mustache of his is up to him. He stands rather short due to him being more animal than man, at a little over three feet. It’s also unknown just how much space is in his pockets, as he can pull and store possibly anything.
Good or Bad: Good, he’s pretty harmless anyway.
History On Li:
In the Village, life is always at an easy standstill. Seasons drift together effortlessly and pleasantly, and nothing but the occasional swarm of disturbed bees from a shaken tree causes a ruckus. The only place that’s ever hopping is Club LOL, and even then it’s only open at night. The easy ways of the Village and the nonchalance of its anthropomorphic residents keep the town in perfect balance… And that was exactly the way Shrunk liked it.
On one night before yet another KK Slider show, Shrunk was busy sweeping floors and practicing jokes in the mirror. When on one of particularly terrible ones (unbeknownst to him), he leaned against the mirror as if to give himself a high five, only to quickly jump away in fright. The mirror rippled like some sort pool rather than a solid object. For a few moments, the Axolotl contemplated what was going on and grew curious of it. His curiosity proved to work against him as he leaned a bit too far into his mirror, and disappeared from his own universe.
A few seconds later led him to reappear out of a fountain in the middle of what appeared to be an upbeat city. Soaked and bewildered, he made his way around the city to get his bearings. He certainly wasn’t in his cozy old village anymore that was for sure. Fortunately, the half psychiatrist found a kind soul to help him through what would become his new home- The Life Sphere.
Ever since then Dr. Shrunk has served as a counselor by day and comedian at night. He frequents clubs and alleys, but in no way gets in any sort of trouble. He’s never been one for big missions in his villager days, but who’s to say he hasn’t gotten more adventurous?
Storied History: Dr. Shrunk has served in The Animal Crossing Series as a way to allow players to use emotions when socializing over the internet. He tells jokes to the player in New Leaf with a payment of fruit, and runs Club LOL. animalcrossing.wikia.com/wiki/Dr._Shrunk
Primary Attacks:
-Tail Flail: Enemies in very close proximity will be smacked by his finned tail in rapid succession.
-Fruit Chuck: Dr. Shrunk will randomly throw a fruit (be it apples, cherries, pears, peaches, or oranges) from his pocket. On rare occasions, he can throw a ‘perfect fruit’ (golden in color) to inflict more damage.
-Paper Airplane: What else is he supposed to do with all the hate mail his fellow villagers sent him? Dr. Shrunk reaches into his pocket to pull out a discarded letter, folds it into a paper airplane, and launches it to an enemy. He can only fold out one at a time.
Special Attacks:
-Gift: Dr Shrunk will pull out a present, and toss it to the enemy. He can trap a weaker version of the move inside a box as both a deflector and ability. He chucks it back after collection, and whatever is in it opens on contact.
-Sing: He’s about as bad as he gets folks. With a microphone, he’ll sing a few bars of a song to distract an enemy. He doesn’t know why it works because no one clues him in, but heck it’ll do.
-Firework: He doesn’t like using other tools that are characteristic to his fellow villagers, but he like the sparklers handed out during celebrations. He’ll throw a handful at the enemy as a projectile.
Ultimate Attack:
-Encore! Dr Shrunk will distract the enemy by telling a joke. He captivates the audience, and when he releases the emotion associated with that particular joke, the enemy will receive more damage than his other moves.
Allies/Friends: KK Slider (Best Friend) The Mayor, Isabelle, Mable/Sable/La Belle, Blathers, Celeste, Brewster, Katrina… The list goes on. Anybody friendly, really.
Enemies/Rivals: Tom Nook, Resetti. He highly respects them, but he has to admit they give him the chills.
Any Other Information:
-Personality:
He’s a pleasant man of sorts, no doubt. He’s just about as goofy as his face lets him off to be as, and has the curiosity to boot. Like the rest of his charming village he has an innocent air to him, and would rather help an old lady cross the street than to get into deadly crossfire. He’s a bit… Messy, as well. He kind of screws up a lot, and, having neither a talent in psychiatric studies nor comedy, isn’t much of a success. He doesn’t really let that get him down however. Sure, he may not face threats head on, but with a team he feels much more confident. He’s naturally a people person despite his lack of outward charm. Only a mother (or his iffy wife) could like a face like his. Still, he takes the world in stride, and is generally rather outgoing and approachable. He’s got a sense of humor on him (not his own, of course) and likes to see people happy. As long as there’s no fighting involved, he’s pretty chill and serves as a mediator. After all, he ‘is’ a psychiatrist.
-He has a struggling relationship with his wife, whom he hasn’t heard of since moving here.
-He probably doesn’t even have a degree in psychiatry, but ask him and he’ll dodge the question.
-He probably won’t be used for fighting all that often, but will be used in missions.
-Played by Plush.
