Backstory: Final Fantasy 7 and Kingdom Hearts; additionally I will be expanding on what happened off screen between the games, as that's a large blank area in the canon.
Between FF7 and KH
When the avalanche party fought the Whisper Harbinger, the fabric of 'destiny', or canon as it might as well be called, got so unraveled that some pretty whacky stuff started to happen. Short story short, Yuffie got all displaced and discombobulated and wound up being reborn as KH Yuffie and living an entire second life. She does not remember her original life during this time. This existence is anomalous in every sense, including temporally, so as far as the timeline goes, this entire existence occurs concurrently to Main Universe Yuffie. This means there's no actual time gap betwene KH Yuffie coming into existence and mainline Yuffie's story continuing. They just kinda don't remember the other life.
Prior to KH
Yuffie was an explorer even as a little girl, and got into a habit of trolling the castle guards by leading them on chases through the castle. Being five, and having no malicious intentions other than to trespass, it wasn't like they were going to throw her in jail even if they did catch her. She was basically just goading them into games of hide and seek for the fun of it. But this eventually lead her to meeting a princess! In truth, she and Kairi were childhood friends of sorts, bad of an influence as Yuffie arguably was. She would start sneaking in just to see Kairi, mostly because she found a real princess fascinating.
During KH
One headcanon I will be running with is that Yuffie actually found Marlene in Traverse Town. Compelled by a phantom memory of Barret breaking her like a twig for ignoring the lost child, she decides to take Marlene with her and take care of her. You don't see Marlene during KH because Yuffie took precautions to keep her hidden from imminent danger a lot of the time, and that tends to follow Sora around sooo...
Near the theoretical end of KH, as her bond with Marlene grows stronger, she begins to remember her former life with Marlene's help. She doesn't understand what's happening to her, but as her two lives begin to reconverge near the ends of their respective series, her sense of self begins to take a beating and her immense confusion actually begins to weaken her heart by suppressing it's light. She smiles through a devastating existential crisis.
Appearance:
History On Li: Yuffie was transported to Li while she slept. With no home and Marlene briefly separated from her, she finally falls to darkness as she is briefly unable to retain a sense of self. However, her large ego manages to keep her going out of sheer stubbornness and she discovers that Marlene had in fact been brought with her. She was just nearby having a look around for herself, having woken up earlier. When she discovers Marlene, her bond staves off the darkness in her heart and allows her to regain control of herself. Disturbed and unsettled by what she felt, she resolves to be strong for the both of them and sets out to find civilization.
Yuffie was able to fight off the local infected and keep Marlene safe long enough to find the Life Sphere. Since she was away from civilization, she had to bring Marlene with her everywhere she went and was sometimes forced to abandon her usual evasive fighting style to get between Marlene and infected, which miraculously didn't get her killed. However, by the time she did she was in pretty bad shape, and needed to be brought to the hospital immediately to avoid infection. Worse yet, Marlene was sick and also needed to be hospitalized.
They were both ultimately able to avoid infection thanks to the cure made by Ciel. however Yuffie proved to be a real pain in the butt as her near-infection had caused her to become paranoid and hallucinate danger, causing her to lash out at hospital staff when they attempted to separate her and Marlene. She hallucinated others as infected, and worse yet was silently afraid she'd succumb to darkness again if she was away from Marlene. She had also refused to explain how they were related and came off comically suspicious as a result. When they were finally able to get her to name someone who could help resolve the Marlene situation, the first name she gave them was Barret. But when it was revealed he wasn't in the Life Sphere, the second name she gave ... was Tifa's.
Primary Attacks (3)
Shuriken Fling: Yuffie flings her choice of a small, standard shuriken or her larger, personal weapon of choice, a bigass shuriken. The bigger shuriken generally returns to her after losing it's momentum not unlike a magical boomerang. This attack crits on a 19+ (Variable Dex Attack; Does 1+Dex Mod to 11+Dex Mod Damage)
Feint: Yuffie uses trickery and illusions to try and fake someone out and get then to lower their guard by telegraphing a false attack at them before striking them with her body or a weapon where they weren't expecting it. This attack crits on an 18+. This attack combos into other attacks more reasily, granting the follow-up attack a +2 to its accuracy. 1 turn cooldown. (Medium Cha Attack; Does 7+Dex Mod Damage)
Windstorm: Yuffie's shuriken bursts with wind magic, violently knocking a target hit by it back. It has a 20% chance of stunning. This attack costs 8 MP and crits on a 18+. 1 turn cooldown (Heavy Dex Attack; Does 25+Cha Mod Damage)
Special Attacks (3)
Ninjutsu: Yuffie has a third stat called MP or Magic Points. The maximum is calculated the same way as a bubble shield, only she uses her magic stat (Charisma) instead of her constitution, and she gains a bonus from rank ups equal to the bonus she gains to her HP. It regenerates every turn it isn't lowered somehow like a bubble shield as well, for identical ammounts. Yuffie can also spend 2 actions drinking a tincture, restoring 18 MP. (Balancing Note: 1 MP is valued at 2 DMG)
Any given attack can be enhanced with generic Ninjutsu using her MP. These generic enhancements can be stacked up to three times, paying the MP cost each time. Each enhancement costs 4 MP. Chances of the same status are added together into a larger chance, rather than being rolled for separately. The elements she can call on are as follows:
- Fire: +6 Damage, +20% Burn Chance
- Ice: +4 Damage, +20 Freeze Chance
- Lightning: +8 Damage
- Wind: +40% Stun Chance
- Water: +2 Damage, +60% Soak Chance
- Poison (Paralytic): +25% Paralysis and Suffocation (2 turns) chance
- Poison (Necrotic): +25% Poison and Healing Suppressed chance
- Poison (Neurotoxic): +25% Mind-Melted and Disabled (mental stat of choice) chance
- Poison (Vasculotoxic): +25% Sickness and Mortal Wound chance
Yuffie carries antitoxins for the various poisons she uses around. They can end the statuses caused by them prematurely, however they don't cure those statuses afflicted by any other source other than her own moves.
Steal Materia: Yuffie can attempt to steal a weapon or item from someone. Stealing a weapon grants her access to the primary (but not special) attacks associated with that weapon. If the weapon is one-handed, she can attack with it once immediately in the process of stealing it without spending an extra action to do so. However, if the weapon is designed to be held in two hands she can't and stealing it consumes her entire action. Stealing an item grants her that item. Stealing an item Yuffie can't see, such as one vaguely in a character's inventory but not mentioned yet, imposes a -4 penalty. However every 2 times she steals something her materia levels up, granting her a +1 to future theft attempts during a thread. (Max +2 Bonus) If she steals an item from a random NPC who has no inventory, roll from the below chaos table. 2 turn cooldown

Enemy Skill Materia: Yuffie can copy moves used against her using this materia. To copy a move, Yuffie must be targeted by it. She cannot copy a move just by observing it. However, she's a bit clumsy with copied moves. The first time she uses them in a thread, she suffers a -2 accuracy penalty. However, using a move levels up her materia. The next time she uses the move it improves to -1 accuracy. The third, normal accuracy. The fourth, her crit threshold with that move reduces by 1, and the fifth, her crit threshold reduces by another 1. This only lasts for a thread though. If she wants to develop permanent muscle memory for a move, she has to actually learn it properly with it's own moveslot.

Final Smash (1)
All Creation: Yuffie projects a large wave of pure ki from her hands that tears whatever matter it comes across apart with immense concussive and shearing force. It costs 15 MP to use and does 80 damage to all targets. Yuffie takes 15 recoil and the cooldowns on all her attacks increase by 1 for 3 turns as her body recovers.
Other Info: Yuffie can't perform ninjutsu without a hand free. This includes but is not limited to the actual move ninjutsu, basically including the entirety of her magic.
Marlene is a non-combatant. However since she could conceivably wind up in danger, her stats are STR 2 / DEX 12 / CON 8 / WIS 12 / INT 6 / CHA 10
