Digimon...Digital Monster. Creatures that are sometimes confused for Pokemon, let alone thought of as cheap copies of them. But they are more than that. They are beings that originated from computer data deep under the internet, and can range from animalistic creatures to humanistic beings that can pass off as regular people to actual gods! However, they sometimes cannot reach such power quickly without human partners to bond with, like Tamagachis (which they are based on). After all, they're mostly created from imaginations, especially from human children, which they harmlessly (sometimes) feed off from this creativity.
And arguably, they were lead to Li, drawn to this famed DigiDestined (somewhat Digimon 'Trainers' if you will) who somehow arrived on This World...
...this guy and his digital dino partner.
Shortly after defeating the so-called Y2K virus, known as Diaboromon, this guy, Taichi Kamiya, aided a fellow yet mysterious DigiDestined, Ryo Akiyama, in battling a god-like Digimon, Millieniummon. This Digimon can ravel reality with just its presence alone...
...so it's no wonder how Tai and Agumon fell to the world of Li. Tai and Agumon are now stuck alone in this world without their friends, so far, but they have little time to search for them because it seems they pulled many wild and dangerous Digimon with them in areas rich in computers and internet systems, like the Life Sphere. So they have going around, stopping Digimon from fully materializing, that could possibly be their fault. But the crossover is escalating beyond their control...
...so since they can't find any DigiDestineds, they'll have to settle with those similar to them: Pokemon and their trainers.
Pokemon and Digimon
As mentioned, Digimon has been numerously compared to Pokemon for being copycats and inferior.; clones that are too much like the other. They have so many similarities between each other that they could arguably and hilariously be considered as cousins. Digimon can evolve like Pokemon, and Pokemon have recently similar concepts like Mega Evolution. And it seems that Digimon can understand what most Pokemon are saying. But are they actually connected?
The only Pokemon that could be the bridge between them are the Porygon, digital Pokemon. But what does that mean?
Well, when Digimon tries to emerge in the Life Sphere, fog particles form in a massive area, called Digital Fields, which are a heavy gray fog of false proteins that are infused into any digital data (of which any being which is native to the Digital World, their homeworld) which manifests itself in physical form. This allows a Digimon to adapt to the real world until they draw enough electronic data to exist in the physical world fully. Some Digimon are so powerful that they create pocket dimensions within the Digital Fields, like an ice demon creating an 'ice age' on the city within the fog.
But this also affected Pokemon within the Digital Field. For starters, Pokemon within the Digital Field can talk.
Pokemon, partnered with trainers, somehow can access the digital data in the field, allowing them to...'Digivolve', which is a sudden yet temporary evolution. However, Digimon can evolve further than Pokemon, hence their god-like potential. But the data Pokemon absorb seems to be...unlimited, like it's trying to dig deeper into their souls and tap into greater power.
A Sealed Evolution, if you will. But that's unlikely, so ignore this! XP
Being a DigiDestined/Tamer
The more Digimon is dealt with and defeated, the more likely DigiDestineds and Tamers will arrive on Li. Tapping into Digivolution is rather difficult, though. Before Tai, another used Final Smash's power to evolve Digimon to their ultimate form, but that form doesn't last long. But with Digimon starting to show up, the power has gotten a little easier for newcomers.
When apping a DigiDestined/Tamer, with a Digimon that can Digivolve into more forms, you would use the Transformation format with some attacks done by their human partner. But that would mean that you can only Digivolve two times. Most DigiDestineds' Digimon can only reach the Ultimate/Perfect level, which requires two Digivolutions, so that doesn't matter. However, those that can reach the level beyond that, Mega/Ultimate...well, the only way to reach that is through Warp Digivolution, which first form Digimon (Rookie/Child) can jump pasts its other forms to reach it, or use Bio Merge/Matrix Digivolution, where the Tamer and their Digimon merge together.
Arguably, that means they have one more Digivolution to use, but that requires using Final Smash, reaching to Ultra/Super Mega, but that means the forms don't last, and it could revert them back to Rookie.
And yes, the transformation is in order, not chosen. But a Digimon can have more than one evolution line, but that's for MUCH later.
