Greetings, citizens of Li! I hope you've all been doing well. It's been quite a while since our last Staff Recruitment push, and while reviewing the muscle we currently have we made the decision that a new hiring push was likely warranted. We will be recruiting staff members until early October. This time we're looking for Lore Keepers, Life Mods, and a Coder. If you're interested in helping the site out and willing to take on any of the responsibilities listed under the respective positions, please let me know by filling out a form located at the bottom of this post! Before you do that though, feel free to review what each position entails to see if either, if any, appeal to you.

General Qualifications

- You must have been an active member of this forum for at least 3 weeks to be considered
- You must be familiar with the site rules
- You should be familiar with our Basics & Building Your Character Pages; just to the point of knowing where to find stuff
- It's recommended that you like to read

Life Mod Responsibilities

- Participation in Staff Discussions
- Making sure rules aren't being broken
- Approving new characters and updates to existing characters.
- Updating shops and responding to shop posts

Lore Keeper Responsibilities

- Being in the know about site rules, going ons, history and lore 
- Using that knowledge to help and encourage others
- Making sure the site lore is adhered to. No one is contradicting site canon.
- Archiving threads and adding them to ION

Coder Responsibilities

- Creating new forum themes
- Fixing theme and plugin related issues if they arise
- Working with Discord bots

Optional All-Staff Duties

- (If you want to help out with jobs that fall under a different role, you can, with staff discussion participation encouraged for everyone if they can handle it)
- Advertising
- Running Classic Mode
- Judging in Sunshine Stadium
- Running Site Plots (w/ Admin Approval)
- Doing Mirage Portals (w/ Admin Approval)

A: 1 whole year, and three months!

Q: Why do you want to join the staff? What parts of the position you're applying to appeal to you?

A: I'm interested in the coding. Ooh. As an aspiring Software Engineer, playing with bots and programming for the site feels like the most intuitive way to show my appreciation for Li, the staff, the members and the site. And also better my own programming skills for the future.

Q: Do you understand SSB:LI's rules & know where to find all the reference material for Character Transformations, Dice Systems, Battle Rules, and other such rules and guidelines of the forum?

A: Not sure, but I think I do for Character Transformations. Dice System is a maybe. Overall, not quite.

Q: Do you know what our ION System is, where to find it, and how to read it?

A: Not sure about this one. But I'd be happy to find out. I've found it before, though.

A: Definitely. I'm in the Discord.

Q. Do you have any Staff Experience on this, or any other, RP forum? What were your basic responsibilities? In brief detail.

A - Not on forums, but I've been a moderator and GM of several roll20 campaigns. I was expected to prepare sessions in advance, keep everyone updated and also establish fairness in carrying out my duties. As a moderator I was also expected to ensure behaviour was consistent between server members and myself. Ensuring that drama was kept to a minimum and questions were given appropriate answers.

A - Effects that have a 100% chance to occur.

Q. What is our policy on the flavor text for attacks? As in, the minimum requirements for the text that visually describes what an attack does flavor-wise.

A - How the character executes the attack, whether it's physical or ranged, the scope of targets (solo, multiple or AOE) and the damage type.

Q. What is the difference between a character's backstory and their history on Li with regards to what info they're supposed to contain?

A - Backstory is who they are and what they did back home that made them who they are. History on Li refers to how they got to Li, what they've been doing since then.

Q. How many stat points does a brand new solo character with no items or character progression raising them get across every stat?

A - 10 per stat, 60 in total and 70 if you count the 10 extra stat points they can distribute freely.

Q. How many stat points does a pokemon or minion using the standard pokemon/minion template, which grants three pokemon/minions to wield per mission, get?

A - 42, and then 10 to distribute across 6 stats, making 52.

Q. What is the criteria for being allowed to app a character that already has a companion right away?

A - The companion gets the extra stat points and not the main character.

Q. What should you do if you aren't sure how to review something on an app?

A - Ask for help from another moderator or pop it into the balance sheet and see if it stacks up or too high!

A: Over 5 years so I know I've been here a while.

A: Honestly I've been wanting to be staff for a while now since this is one of my favorite roleplay sites and I have made a lot of friends here. That aside the position I think I would be best at is Lore Keeper, but if not that Life Mod is a close second.

Q: Do you understand SSB:LI's rules & know where to find all the reference material for Character Transformations, Dice Systems, Battle Rules, and other such rules and guidelines of the forum?

A: For the most part yes. I'll check with the senior staff if I am forgetting something or need a refresher.

Q: Do you know what our ION System is, where to find it, and how to read it?

A: That was always one of the confusing parts of the forum but I understand most of it yes.

Q: Are you comfortable sharing contact information such as a Discord so that other staff members can get ahold of you off-site if it's ever necessary?

A: I mean most of you already have me added as a friend on Discord so that kind of goes without saying.

Q. Do you have any Staff Experience on this, or any other, RP forum? What were your basic responsibilities? In brief detail.

A - I used to run the Roleplay Forum known as TruePath as head admin when everyone of the other staff wanted to abandon it. Most of my responsibilities were a lot like Marin's. Recruiting Members, Ensuring Activity, Adding to the lore and checking apps. I managed to keep the place alive for an additional 3-4 months before I had to close it down. Other than that I've moderated streams for people if that counts at all.

A - 26% more damage. My fight with Captain Falcon as Viewtiful Joe helped me figure that out.

A - 40% I think. Thanks to Silvia I know that adding 3% extra damage decreases the secondary effect by 10% making it 30%.

Q. If you have an 18% damage attack and you want to give it a +1 bonus to its accuracy, how much do you have to reduce the damage by to compensate?

A - 3% is how much. 15% is the default damage for secondary effects.

Q. If you wanted to have a single-target final smash deal 80% damage, how much recoil would it have to have to balance it?

A - As the person playing Blues I can confirm it is 30%. Got to love how he sacrificed himself to save his friends against Omega.

Q. If you have an 18% damage attack that causes the user to suffer a -1 dodge penalty next turn, how much more damage it can do?

A - Might be 5%. I know if you do a -2 dodge penalty it is 10% because of Vanitas so dividing that in half gets 5%.

Q. What should moves be balanced around, Player vs Player matches in Sunshine Stadium or Missions?

A - Missions. PvP doesn't impact anything move-wise other than Thunder Badges.

Q. What sorts of effects are you allowed to afflict onto other characters without beating them at a roll?

A - Anything that has a 100% chance of activation. Usually said attacks have 5% damage maximum, most of the time they are 0% though.

Q. What is our policy on the flavor text for attacks? As in, the minimum requirements for the text that visually describes what an attack does flavor-wise.

A - How the character performs the attack, whether it is melee or a projectile, the amount/area of the targets along with the damage type.

Q. What is the difference between a character's backstory and their history on Li with regards to what info they're supposed to contain?

A - Backstory is their history on their world then how they got to Li. History on Li is everything after the point they got there and likely what they are doing now.

Q. How many stat points does a brand new solo character with no items or character progression raising them get across every stat?

A - By default it is 60 along with the 10 extra stat points you can assign to stats.

Q. How many stat points does a pokemon or minion using the standard pokemon/minion template, which grants three pokemon/minions to wield per mission, get?

A - From looking at Minim's app that it is 42 by default along with the additional 10 that you can assign.

Q. What is the criteria for being allowed to app a character that already has a companion right away?

A - The companion gets any extra stat points instead of the main character.
