History On Li: Medusa's hair-snakes woke up first, searching their surroundings in confusion. They gently licked their mistress's face with their flickering tongues. A single red eye opened in the middle of Medusa's head as she woke before a tower that was even larger than she was. How she'd escaped her imprisonment in the Underworld, she didn't know. She could sense its presence beckoning to her somewhere nearby and this tower was the key to get there. The last thing she remembered was battling Hades for control of her castle, and taking his head as he ripped her apart. Had she been cast out in defeat? Exiled again? To where this time? Where could possibly be worse than a kingdom of monsters?
"No..." Medusa gasped choking on her words as she detected the putrid whiff of mortality. It was everywhere about her as if she stood in a stinking cloud of it. "Not here. Anywhere but here..." , This was Overworld, or something like it. She had been thrown out to crawl across the mortal earth with the insects... some of which were scuttling towards her at that very moment seemingly unaware of the danger in front of them. Medusa was too angry to bother wondering why. She let out a scream from her fanged maw as her blazing orb of an eye and those of her many snakes ignited in lasers of blazing fury.
Surrounded by the remains of statues, Medusa wiped venomous spittle from her mouth and summoned power. She waved a hand across the hissing fury of her face and covered it with a mask of queenly composure. The pale visage came to life and coated most of her scales with the illusion of soft skin. Medusa opened two blue eyes and stroked a face that wasn't hers. Not truly. Palutena’s curse saw to that. But it was enough for now to keep from losing her mind to the monster's rage. She focused on her situation: this insult would not stand. The goddess moved off to locate her champions across this foreign world and gather forces to assault the tower. Hades and Palutena would suffer for this outrage!
Primary Attacks (4)
Shadow Magic: As Goddess of Darkness, Medusa uses black magic of decay, and despair. Her shadows can leave a dark "burn" that eats away at her enemies. [Medium Wisdom attack, 9-15% damage with a 10% chance of Burned status]
Cursed Palm: Medusa has always had a talent for creating plague and pestilence in the palm of her hand. This can produce a breath attack, or condensed viral projectiles. [Light 4% +WIS mod attack with 50% chance of Sickened status, no combo]
Mocking Laughter: Medusa uses her divine dialogue to torment a target's mind with confusing voices. [Light Wisdom attack, targets Intelligence, 1-5% damage with a 10% chance of Mind-Melted status]
Special Attacks (3)
Explosive Flame: Medusa summons dark power to conjure an explosion of black shadow-flames bursting outwards from a surface (usually the ground). [Heavy Wisdom ranged AoE attack, 18% damage, 40% chance of Burned status to targets, two-turn cooldown.]
Shadow Warp: Medusa transforms into a nimble shadow form, enhancing her affinity with darkness. [Allows Medusa to use her Wisdom to make dodge rolls instead of her Dexterity for two turns, and heals 1% of her HP for each person affected by Burned status from her attacks, consuming two actions on both turns.]
Cry of Vengeance: Medusa emits a mental shockwave that horrifies surrounding targets. [Medium Wisdom AoE attack, 15% damage to surrounding enemies, targeting Intelligence, and all hit must make 14+ on an INT-based bravery check, two-turn cooldown.]
Transform: Medusa drops her illusions and becomes Monster Medusa.
Final Smash (1)
Black Hole… and Mega Lazer!: Medusa traps a target in a hellish black hole and then blasts them with a giant lazer of destruction. [50% damage to one target and then they must make 14+ on an INT-based bravery check.]
Other Info:
- Medusa can use Divine Dialogue to transmit messages to other people.
- Medusa’s shadow-burn effect can be cured with light-element spells instead of with water-element as with typical Burned status.

Primary Attacks (3)
Mighty Blow: Whether by clenched fist, stomped foot or summoned staff, Medusa delivers a wind-up blow worthy of a goddess to smite her enemy. [Heavy 30% STR Attack, -2 to Medusa's dodge attempt next turn every time this attack is made this turn]
Vile Touch/Snakebite: Medusa slashes with talons, or uses her hair-snakes to bite. [Medium 12% STR Attack with 100% chance of Poisoned status, Snakebite adds +12% damage but Medusa suffers -2 to a dodge attempt next turn. 1 turn cooldown.]
Stony Glare: Medusa fires rapid curses from her eyes and those of her hair-snakes. [Light 4% +WIS mod attack, but can instead spend all three actions on a deadly stare adding +12% damage and 100% chance of Paralysis but Medusa suffers -2 to a dodge attempt next turn. The Paralysis effect can stack, but duration is based on the first CON test]
Special Attacks (3)
Spite: Medusa uses damage received this turn to release an explosion of dark vengeance at the start of next turn that inflicts 10% +WIS mod damage to attacking enemies and for every 10% damage she received, adds stacking 25% chance of causing Burned status as per Shadow Magic. Medusa can spend extra actions to damage herself by 10% to add to the explosion's effect. Two-turn cooldown.
Medusa's Guidance: Medusa uses divine dialogue to challenge someone to battle, using WIS and targeting their INT stat. A NPC target suffers Mind-Melted status and is automatically forced to target Medusa with at least two attacks in its next turn. A PC target suffers Mind-Melted status and can choose to either target Medusa in the same way or take Fear/Horrified status instead. Two-turn cooldown.
Divine Wrath: As Medusa weakens in battle she focuses more of her magical might on destroying her enemy instead, fuelled by her rage. For every 20% damage Monster Medusa has taken, she does 1% more damage and gains a +1 to her Wisdom stat.
Transform: Monster Medusa shrouds herself in shadowy illusions to transform into Medusa.
Final Smash (1)
Uprising: If Medusa is reduced to 0% HP, about to be reverted into a trophy, she instead rises again bringing herself back from the brink of 'death', with 25% extra HP and Berserk status for three turns. During this time, all moves with an effect increase their chances to 100% but Monster Medusa must stay in this form during that time.
