Eirika is a warrior princess from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. She's a pacifist who, in her own words, fights so that some day she won't have to. She fought to rescue her kingdom alongside (but separately from) her brother, ultimately laying low The Demon King Formotiis, one of the more terrifying monsters in Fire Emblem's history. Because she has been reclassed many times since her debut, she has a fairly large repertoire to choose from by Fire Emblem's standards: swords, lances, magic, healing, and mounted combat.
Nino is a prodigious young mage who was taken from her family as a baby and spared her village's massacre because Nergal, local upcoming supervillain and series antagonist, recognized her potential and hoped to mold her into a tool he could use to serve his own ends. However, he wasn't a Family Guy and so he asked his servants and slaves in the Black Fang to raise her for him. Her mother, Sonia, loathed her and resented being tasked with primary responsibility. Other members of her family were less awful to her, but it would be accurate to say her upbringing was not... healthy. She was relatively sheltered from or oblivious to the reality of the death cult around her.
During the events of the game, Nino was confronted with the truth about her family being a bunch of psycho murderers by Hector and made the difficult choice to turn on them, after which she--with great reluctance--killed the monsters who raised her.
In spite of her backstory, she is a cheery, upbeat, supportive, kind, and sweet person whose attitude largely doesn't reflect the horror of what she went through. As a consequence of her loveless upbringing however, she isn't used to validation or appreciation.
If I apped Nino, there is a chance I would consider apping her as a duo character with Sonia.
Sonia is a Life Energy Construct and the result of Nergal trying to play God and create a person using life energy drained from the victims of his massacres. She is not a perfect attempt, being fairly psychotic and deeply sociopathic, with her ability to feel emotions being highly stunted. She believes herself to be human however, and not only that but a perfect being, looking down on all those around her. She is also Nino's adoptive mother, having hated her since the moment she was charged with raising her. She even went so far as to try and have Nino killed prior to her switching sides in the war.
She primarily uses magic when she fights, though she's not above using others to do her dirty work.
There's a chance that if I apped her, it would be as a duo with Nino. And yes, that is a horrific combination to play off of.
Peony and Triandra are fairies from Dream and Nightmare worlds from Fire Emblem Heroes. They are in many ways opposites. Peony is a sweet, warm, kind-hearted person who enjoys giving people pleasant dreams. Triandra is a cold and distant person who gives people nightmares. Peony suffers from the fact that as children get older, they lose the ability to dream and forget she exists. Triandra suffers from a feeling that she would be better off forgotten. In spite of this, they are close, and I would likely app them as a duo under the logic that nobody else is likely to app their counterpart if I don't anyway.
Lady Sia is a young warrior princess from an obscure yet charming Nintendo series that sorta fell through the cracks back in the GBA days. She is a shapeshifter, which within the context of her series is a species. She's got a badass, spunky attitude, doesn't take much crap from her enemies, and utilizes both a jade sword and magic to fight. Oh and yes, she does transform sometimes. Though we only got to see a single transformation in the one game of hers that survived to completion: A sasquatch-esque monster.
She's got a lot of bratty energy to her, which I love. But also she's got a classic epic fantasy hero thing going on that you don't see too often from girls.
Tetra is the captain of a homely little group of pirates and a descendent of Princess Zelda. She aids Link in his quest to rescue his sister and later defeat Ganon, getting in tune with her inner princess in the process. She uses sword and gunplay to fight, and presumably has the potential to use magic as well--though she demonstrates no realization of such potential in-game. Her moveset potential is more difficult than normal because unlike most on this list she doesn't fight on her own. But I could maybe supplement that.
Nell is a Commanding Officer of the Orange/Red Star army and the players instructor. She is generally supportive if not performatively professional and can be relied upon to come up with a plan when things get rough. Her CO theme is luck. She gets random damage added onto her attacks, and while this damage is somewhat reasonable by default it is increased while using her CO power, to the point that infantry can potentially one shot Neo Tanks.
If I played her, I would probably give her weapons of her own to fight with, as well as RNG manipulation abilities designed to assist either herself or her allies. Though her moveset potential is somewhat limited, I could probably take "Give her another weapon" pretty far.
Sami is a Commanding Officer of the Orange/Red Star army. She has a somewhat happy-go-lucky attitude, but she also has a short temper and is quick to spite fire at people who mess with her. Her CO theme is infantry focus. Her boots on the ground troops are stronger and better at their jobs than other COs. She would likely take on a similar role to Nell in terms of combat, being given weapons (She already has one, as you can see) and using her CO power to buff her allies. and act as a supporting force.
Malladus is the final boss of Spirit Tracks from the Zelda series. Within the context of Li, Malladus has successfully stolen Spirit Tracks Zelda's body to use as a vessel for resurrection, and is now back walking the earth, presumably with dreams of conquering it. Like other villains, Malladus would be... coerced into cooperating with the Life Sphere because of the starvia, not wanting to play second fiddle to anyone. This would put Zelda and anyone trying to assist her in getting her body back in the awkward position of being unable to do so without breaking the peace. Which would be very funny, in my opinion.
Elsa is the former Queen of Arendelle and basically a powerful ice elemental in human form. She can conjure, manipulate, and enchant snow and ice on a grand scale. She can also place ice curses upon people and objects, causing them to freeze and petrify into ice statues over time, though she's also capable of undoing this. As a person however she is warm, generous, compassionate, and loving. She enjoys using her powers to have fun with and benefit others, and has a powerful connection to her sister Anna. She was never entirely satisfied with life in Arendelle, seeking out freedom elsewhere. Now the starvia would be the thing between her and that freedom.
Doppel Shantae is ... Shantae? I think? Maybe? I can't really tell you her secrets because that's spoiling the fun! But she sure seems to be Shantae! Obviously the appeal is that you get to find out more about her and the ways she's different from the original Shantae that aren't immediately obvious. She enjoys dancing, has an attitude, and utilizes both dancing and genie magic while using her hair like a whip. I've played a Shantae game now so I feel more comfortable giving her a formal shot.
Holly Lingerbean is an enigmatic memory ghost from the Shantae series who feeds off of attention and pretends to be a half-genie hero to get more of it. And she's rather... gluttonous at that. She can drain people's memories, which coallesce into a physical form that she can manipulate, eat, or perhaps feed to her sandworm pet.
Plink is a half-genie from Shantae. She's friendly and adventurous, a proper hero in the making. However, she's also kind of clumsy and has Genie ADHD stemming from ESP that enables her to see things nobody else does, which frequently distracts her from the world around her. The youngest half-genie, she has the spirit but is less competent than the others.
Harmony is a half-genie from Shantae. The oldest half-genie, she is kind, patient, wise, clever, and generally more mature than the other half-genies. As a consequence, she acts as the sort of de-facto leader of them when they gather together during the events of Half-Genie Hero. She utilizes quake magic to alter, distort, and weaponize terrain.
Vera is a reclusive half-genie from Shantae. Polite and friendly, she uses nature magic to protect and heal others, though it has a somewhat odd effect on the undead. Despite her respectful nature, she'd really prefer to stay far away from civlization, giving her a somewhat anti-social side that would doubtlessly flare up rather strongly on Li.
Rottytops is a zombie whose brain might be a little rotten but her heart's in something ... resembling the right place. Apparently zombies in Shantae's universe are able to regain some of their... humanity by drinking coffee, allowing them some level of control over themselves. She has something of a crush on Shantae because Shantae doesn't run away from her screaming, among other things. She's a semi-incompetent ally for this reason. trying to help Shantae out and genuinely caring about her but... not always being so successful.
Risky Boots is the main or perhaps more accurately recurring antagonist of the Shantae series, a comically greedy pirate with dreams of world domination. She loves all things shiny. Cruel and cunning, she is just as if not more likely to manipulate others into getting her way as she is to pillage and plunder, though if she can get away with it she's liable to just take the simpler and more brutish path. Self-proclaimed queen of the seven seas, she's infamous across Sequin Land for her shenaniganry. She fights with a mixture of swordplay, gunplay, martial arts, enchanted gear, and occasionally her genius inventions.
