[Nostalgia]

The dirt on the stadium floor was barely disturbed as a small figure walked out, their tiny legs making it take only slightly less time than boredom setting in before they paused. Their soft blue eyes glanced through the stadium stands and around the arena as they went, at this point this place was pretty familiar, even if it had been awhile. From inside their cloak they pulled out a small tablet of dark wood, running their other hand over the smooth grained surface, leaving behind writing in the form of bright blue markings as they lifted it up for all to see.

Hello! Did someone sign up for the time slot today?

For someone asking if people were gonna fight them, they looked pretty innocent about it, big eyes glancing around to see if anyone responded.

A series of gentle footsteps would fill the air of the arena as a young woman strode down towards Vessel. Her dark purple locks draping far past her shoulders and even a bit past her back as she looked over at the bug intently. It was Minim, the woman's voice calling out too them as she answered their sign.

"I signed up, so I'll be your opponent today.:

"Why did we sign up too fight this bug again?" Model B would ask as he floated around Minim's form, his voice inaudible too all but those who were chosen by a Biometal. The purple haired lady brushing some of her hair from her eyes as she rather simply replied too her more brash sounding friend.

"Because we need too kick off some rust. Now shut-up and get Treble ready." As she said that, she'd snatch Model B from the air, the metallic rock grumbling too itself as she held him out before her. A small grin on her face as she spoke that key phrase.

"Megamerge." A flash of purple light would fill the air, and in a moment, the human woman would clad in her usual armor. That cocky grin of her's still on her face as she flexed her fingers before taking on a ready battle stance.

"Now then, lets get started~"

[Nostalgia]

A little perk lifted their head as they noticed the sound, turning back to face the noise. The movement made the small orbs of blue slime resting on top of their head jiggle slightly, sitting above their four eyes as they looked up to the new person, one arm raising to give a cheerful wave.

It's nice to meet you! I has been a little while since I've been here, but I hope we can have fun!

They bowed their head politely once they finished, reaching behind them and pulling their nail around in front of them. They stuck the tip into the dirt, standing almost as tall as they are as they seemed to take a bit of a deep breath. They waited patiently, looking curiously between the two partners, peaking with wide eyes as they watched the two come together, a very interesting pair!

Okay! I will try to start with small things.

And the tablet was tucked back into their cloak as they grabbed their needle again, one hand holding the long metal handle and the other seeming to be holding... Nothing. Tattered wings extended out from their back, holes and tears evident along the edges before a similar blue goo spread over them, filling those gaps as they started to gently flap. A sudden kick off from the dirt brought surprising momentum thanks to their small size, launching themself towards minim before a sudden flap of their wings broke their momentum in it's tracks, their hand leaving their needle and leaving it to fly at her.

Immediately after reaching where she would be a sudden yank would make the momentum spin, sending the weapon spinning through the air before swinging back around back into Vessel's hand, a suspicious glint in the sunlight connecting the end of the needle to their hand.

Both hands came together around the base of the spear, a white light starting to glow throughout before flashing brightly. Once the light disappeared, so did the Vessel, followed quickly by the whistling noise of the spear coming towards Minim from behind!

Minim would bite her lip as she conjured one of her Dark Swords, grabbing the dark blade of pure data as she used it too deflect those spear strikes. Every blow bouncing away as she met each stab with with a strike of her, eliciting a smirk. She'd managed too deflect those attacks but she started getting cocky as the white light flashed, the armored woman delivering a swift upwards slash to deflect another attack!

Only for her too yelp as the final attack struck her from behind. The spear poking right into her armored back as she grit her teeth. Her armor protecting her from serious damage as she chuckled too herself. The bug seemed too have a few good tricks up their sleeve... that was fine by her. This little bug wasn't the only thing that had some tricks. A mental signal was sent too Model B, who'd just sigh in Minim's head

"Alright, if you say so. Are we really about too go all on something this cute?" With that as her sign too go ahead, Minim would snap her fingers, causing a wave of purple light to escape her body before it coalesced into a mechanical dog. Now there stood Treble, the robotic companion looking over at Vessel before immediately crouching down as the two of them lunged at the flying bug. Minim starting off by delivering a powerful slash with the same blade she'd guarded all of their attacks with, the edges crackling with purple electricity, ready too numb the bug's limbs on contact. Meanwhile Treble had coated himself in greenish energy as he lunged towards the bug in an attempt too strike them down towards the ground as Minim landed.

Regardless of if Treble was successful, Minim would land first, her legs spreading too help her take a wide stance as she braced herself. Both of her arms transforming into a pair of strange canons as they began too overload. A massive shockwave filling the air as she began too open fire on Vessel. Dozens of small explosive blasts were all lobbed at the bug, each of them exploding as they got near, trapping them!

As that all went down, Treble would back off a bit, a low growl escaping the robot as he changed modes, swapping from his aggressive state, too a more defensive one.

[Nostalgia]

The Vessel got a little worried as the first three strikes ended up being for naught, but that final hit made them perk up just a little! It wasn't great, but it was better than nothing. Their head tilted a little in curiosity as they watched... well it was kinda hard to tell what it was at first, but then out popped a dog!

A little hand hesitantly came up to give a little wave to Treble, interested in the new person they'd never met before! But even in a vulnerable position like this, their wings quickly spread and shot themselves aside, out of the way of the blade. Unfortunately, the doggy went assumed as being friendly, getting an easy strike against the bug!

The blow brought them tumbling through the air slightly, shaking their head and blinking their eyes open just in time to see the energy starting to gather. But that would not stop them from being caught in it, smoke and fire engulfing them.

And so they landed a small distance away, shaking their head and brushing themself off. They pulled their tablet out once more.

Alright! If this is what you want to do, I'll try a little harder!

The needle came out, a new strange glint catching the light but disappearing too easily to focus on. Once more their tiny figure jolted up from a stand still, wings buzzling as they rocketed around the arena. It seemed almost pointless, continuing to fly and twist and turn longer than they reasonably should have. A very careful eye could catch a familiar shine sparkling behind them, slowly weaving out along with their movements. A sudden turn upwards and a yank of the needle brought those glints collapsing in around the entire arena as sharp steel thread attempted to wrap around the two of them.

While the threads were pulling in around them Vessel dropped to the ground, both hands digging into the dirt as a brief flash of dark covers their white helm. The ground shuddered gently as they started to stand again, a sudden black tendril reaching up from behind the two of them and thrashing towards them, followed quickly by others erupting from small shadows in the arena.

And amidst the wild flailing and lashing, the sparkle of a needle flew out again, targeting minim with a precise series of pokes.

During these stabs however, their wings started to fade and lose their blue glow.

So they were gonna go all out then? Good, she needed too see if this little thing had some actual power. She was using the stadium too scout potential marks. Scouting out her next source of power too absorb. This bug had promise, but she needed too see it before she added them too the menu. And see it she would as they immediately went about setting up a wire trap around her. It didn't seem all that complex. She could easily just warp through the gaps with no issue-

A sudden gasp would escape Minim as she felt the bug's bindings suddenly entrap her form. The strings restricting a fair bit of her movement as they tightened over her. The distraction leaving her rather vulnerable against the incoming tendril attack as she focused on freeing herself.

Just before it could strike her back, Treble would lunge out, taking the blow for Minim as she wrestled with the bindings around her form, but she didn't have much more time too keep fiddling with this trap. She needed to defend herself now. A growl escaping her as she formed her Dark Sword again and began trying too deflect attacks from her foe. The first stab being deflected with the same amount of deft accuracy, only for her to get struck by the following two, sending her reeling back. The bindings having stopped her from deflecting the coming stabs in time.

"Cheeky little..." She'd notice the slight fading of those wings. Seems like her target couldn't keep up that mobility forever. Which meant... it was time to get ready for her own attack. Minim would take the offensive, starting with transforming her left hand into a buster. Charging up a shot as her arm was held back slightly from the bindings around her arms. Firing off a less accurate shot as she suddenly warped. Her body vanishing in a flash of purple before she appeared above Vessel, Dark Sword in hand as she swiped at them again before taking another swiftly charged shot on the way down too ground.

As the assault ended, Vessel would notice that... Treble had gone missing during her swift barrage of attacks. He'd set himself at the corner of the arena, Metallic body shifting and clicking into place as he anchored himself. Maw opening wide as a canon formed in his mouth. The mane of spikes around his head lengthening and forming a wall behind his head as energy began too gather up in mouth before...

KA-BWOOOSH! A massive laser beam would fire, aimed straight at Vessel as the robot dog unleashed all of it's power at once.

As the smoke cleared a set of loud snaps would fill the air as Minim broke her bindings. Her Dark Sword slashing through what strings she could, leaving them in tatters as she could finally move properly again. Treble hopping back too her side as she brushed herself off. Armor scuffed and damaged in places.

Vessel seemed to almost giggle to themself as the net of wires wrapped around Minim, seeing the surprise on her face while she fought against them. It seemed pretty effective, it was pretty much a key move for them at this point. Though it didn't seem to affect her as much as it should, that scary sword coming out again and causing even more issues.

But even more than that, the dog was really making this harder than it should be. Should try target it?... The fight was supposed to be a 1v1, does that mean they're just part of her? Thinking about all this is kind of confusing... They're here to warm up and enjoy themselves, just keep doing what they're doing!

It's a good thing they came to that conclusion too, because their focus came back just in time to a ball of energy flying towards them!

Even with the blue glow gone, their wings were still able to help shove themselves back and away from the plasma, right back into a familiar shaped shadow! Their small nubby hands came up as a wall of blue lifeblood formed above them, the sword sinking into it like molasses as the bug rolled out from under her out of the way of the final shot.

As they stood back up however they were once again caught off guard by that dog, caught in the blinding light of the beam as it sent them tumbling and spinning lightly through the air.

And so they thudded to a stop in the dirt, shaking their head and cloak as they crawled back up to their feet again. Okay, things still werent going great-- And she just managed to break almost all of the wires too, that makes things harder. With a slight unhappy sigh the Vessel brought their nail up in both hands again as it glowed. It shone even brighter than before as odd circular particles floated off of it. They didn't really like doing this... But Minim really wanted to see everything, so it's fair.

Instead of teleporting, they dashed straight for Minim, head on as they pulled their needle back and slashed towards her. The blade warped strangely in the light, extending and bending, phasing through attempts to stop it, inevitably swiping directly through her. But there was no pain, not even a feeling besides the light brush of wind caused by the Vessel's arms swinging by. What she would notice however, was the world starting to shift strangely, an illusion starting to take root as spines seemed to cover the surroundings, Vessel, even Treble. While she may be able to overcome the illusion, getting caught up in it would make it hard to move around with confidence and commitment.

As the needle struck her, Minim would find her vision shifting. Changing too a strange sight that seemed too... unnerve her. Her body starting too shake on it's own as she took a step back, right into Vessel's strike. Her back bending as the spear struck her armor, chipping the back as she stumbled forward into the field of tendrils that spawned around her.

Thankfully Treble had her back, the mechanical hound tackling her from behind and pushing her out of the way of the thrashing limbs, taking the blow for her as it howled in pain. Snapping her out of her small daze as she turned back towards Vessel. Vision tainted by the strange illusion as she grit her teeth and planted her feet. A flash of purple light causing a small blue gem too appear in her hand which she promptly crushed, flooding her body with electricity as her whole form seemed to speed up.

Her voice wavered as began too speak. Even as she realized this was an illusion, she couldn't shake that constant anxiety that welled up inside. Whatever this scene she was being subjected too was, something about it felt off, she needed to put an end too this fight soon.

"Trying too s-scare me, huh? That's one hell of a trick, I'll need to steal it when we're done~"

As she said that, Treble would suddenly charge at Vessel from the side trying to smash them into Minim's direction as her two hands transformed into canons before unleashing that familiar barrage of charged shots at Vessel. Using Treble as a distraction to open them up as electricity ran across her form. powering her canons even further as they began too open fire on the bug, forming that same explosive trap as before as they burst into a storm of lightning.

Her shots super charged with electricity, causing them to pack almost as much punch as her normal charged shots as Treble shot out from behind, trying too flank behind Vessel and strike them again.

Everything seemed to land between all those attacks... And yet once again that dog was causing some issues. They tried to focus on Minim but it was causing some issues. They'd need to do something, but before that, the dog was already charging towards them!

A wall of lifeblood formed before them, stopping the charge from hitting them directly but not stopping themself from being shoved backwards towards Minim. Before the explosions even hit them, their shield faltered and ruptured right before them, collapsing against them. The plume of consecutive booms roared around them once again, consuming them in the flames before they were able to leap out of the way of at least some of the violence.

Their balance was struggling at this point, this was getting bad. Staggered steps left them vulnerable as two of the wild array of shots clipped them, just trying to run away and build some distance as they tumbled past Treble.

Things were really bad. They didn't have much energy left in them for this. Maybe they shouldn't have tried taking it easy at the start... But it's time to focus on now. They did still have a couple things they haven't done yet, maybe it was time to just let everything out. With a slow breath in that blue gel started to spread, seeping out and surrounding their body in a thin layer. It extended out along their back, down their wings as well.
(Lifeblood Shield. Half damage is stored, 1/3rd of damage dealt counters the stored damage or overheals. Stored damage is taken in a burst at the end. 3 turns.)

Their eyes stayed closed once the blue stopped spreading, the black of their body starting to seep up and cover their helmet in a familiar display. Right, it was time for some desperate measures and hope. All around the arena things started to rumble, another swarm of tendrils spiking out from all directions in haphazard grabs and slams, whipping through the air. Unlike previous times however, they persisted, leaving Vessel sitting still as they thrashed themselves to exhaustion.

Minim would find herself shaking her head as she watched Vessel's actions. Her eyes losing focus as she felt the battle and the illusion start to wear down her mind. Leaving her wide open as the tendrils appeared and slammed her into the dirt, another pair of them grabbing Treble and smashing the poor robot dog into the dirt before it could react. Smashing it into pieces and reducing it too a cloud of data cubes that began too recede back into Minim's body.

They would continue too pound, striking her body over and over, cracking her armor and smashing her into the dirt until near the very end. Where she saw the slightest opening in those thrashes. Minim suddenly rolled out, barely able to stand as she transformed her hands into a pair of canons. Her vision blurring fully as she lost sight of Vessel, unsure of where they exactly where... all she knew was they were right in front of her... and she wasn't gonna be able too survive another attack like that.

"If you think... I'm just gonna roll over and lose here, you got another thing coming!" One final roar of defiance would escape Minim as she slammed her two canons together. Linking them up as she as she cranked her armor's energy output too maximum. causing a loud hum too fill the air as her cracked armor began to chip. Revealing her human body beneath as she screamed out before unleashing an utter barrage of shots. A majority of them explosive, while a few normal ones fired off too limit Vessel's escape route.

Her vermillion eyes looking out towards Vessel too see if she'd beaten them finally...

As the tendrils struck Minim and Treble, sparkling white particles left the spots that they'd struck, drifting through the air back towards Vessel, absorbing into the gel coating their body, rejuvenating them. (120/3=40)They took a relieved breath as they came back slightly from that very very dangerous edge that they'd gotten so close to. Their eyes finally opened again, widening in surprise to see that Minim still had some things up her sleeve, hastily getting into a guarding stance as their wings perked.

What followed was nothing short of miraculous, Vessel wide eyed as their body went into overdrive, wings frantically beating and sending their body jolting back and forth, wildly changing direction and weaving through the absolute storm of firepower. But through the fire and the flames, the tiny figure floated down to the ground, panting softly and wide eyed, a little surprised themself.

They... They did it. Okay... It was time for this to be over already. With a deep breath their shakily brought their needle up to their hands, that familiar glow starting to spread through it as they tensed. With a sudden flicker they disappeared, flashing around the arena in a dazzling display, each with a quick attempt at a jab.

And finally they appeared behind her, one final strike as they closed their eyes and hoped that it would be finished, the blue leaving their wings.

The last thing Minim remembered was dodging the first of those spear pokes, the second the next one struck her, the rest of her armor cracked and fell apart, causing her too fall back onto Vessel. The purple haired girl falling unconscious as Model B fell too the ground right next too her. The metalic rock's eyes no longer glowing as it came too a rest alongside it's master.

Vessel had won the battle! THUD
What they didn't expect though was Minim falling backwards once she was defeated, the bug faceplanting as minim landed on top of them. To the audience it may be a bit hard to tell who won, and in wrestling minim may have a solid chance at a pin being counted as Vessel struggles underneath them.

Eventually they managed to pop out from under them, with... a bit of an embarrassing amount of effort, especially right after such an intense battle. The blue that had covered their body gathered onto their hands, lightly nudging Minim's shoulder as the liquid glowed and healed her just a little bit. 

In the sand they scribbled a little note before taking their leave. "It was nice to meet you, you are amazing!" signed with a very bad doodle of Vessel.
