Vanitas cared little about this whole thing, a big eclipse and such really didn't bother him. Still thought he couldn't help this whole thing, he did sign up for it hoping to absorb the nightmare himself so he had no room to complain really. As everyone was making their way to jump across the bridge Vanitas would just move to do the same.

“…I should have guessed you were a Posion/Fairy Type… But I’ll have gloves ready next time.” Red retracted his hand to help Hansel, realizing quickly the risk at hand.

“Phew. …So how long till That happens again?” Red panted, relieved that it was over, but not at all convinced that that was the last he had seen of the Vanguard or the Skull Princess.

“Ivysaur’s going to drop dead?” Espeon looked around with a sudden sense of concern.
“I sure hope I don’t.” And speak of the onion, there they were. “Hey Espy, you mind?”
“Ivysaur! What happened to you?” Espeon asked, telepathically lifting her off Squirtle’s back.
“Those Vanguards are no joke.” Ivysaur shuddered, it apparently paining her to do so. “We’ve battled plenty of Dark Poison Steel Types with Red but these guys-”
“Hold that thought. Where’s Red?” Squirtle interrupted her to look around.

“...Present.” Red called out, much to his Pokémon’s attention. “...Ivysaur! Give her here...” He ran up and collected her in his arms. “How are you holding up?...”
“As high as I can, man.” Ivysaur weakly smiled, waving her vine as if giving a thumbs up. “Here, take this before you faint.” He reached into his bag and retrieved a bottle of Potion and generously sprayed Ivysaur as if he were watering her.

“Ah, that feels so much better. Thank you, Red.” She thanked him as he set her back down.

“Of course.... Now, considering we now know how dangerous this place is… We are going to have to forego the splitting up strategy as we search for the nightmare item-!” Red’s debrief was cut short by the random encounter of the nose thing. “Aw what a little cutie~.” Ivysaur cooed at the sight of it, much to Espeon’s confused side glance. “What? Would you rather a Zubat?”
“I wonder what the Pokédex would’ve said about that…”

“Yeah he’s right! Ain’t you at least gonna try catching it?” Squirtle shrugged with an eyeroll joining Akechi in defense of the weird nose thing.
“You should try meditation. Clear your mind of those scary thoughts so you don’t have to be alone with them.” Espeon recommended Madotsuki. “…Might get… Roomy in here thought”
Speaking of roomy, at long last they made it to the other side.

“Looks pretty far. Y’know, if you brought Charizard with us, he could’ve flown us over all of that.” Squirtle’s smart feeling didn’t last long as he was only met with a cold glare from Red and a summoning Pokéball. “…Return.” Ivysaur and Espeon looked up at him, unsure to laugh at Squirtle’s retribution or flinch at being next. “I’m not going to lose you three over something like this again…” He retrieved two more balls and recalled two more Pokémon. “…I’ll let you all out on the other side.”

"Relax you won't die here if you're too injured." Madotsuki reassured Red's Pokémon before they retreated into their pokeballs.

"You'll just wake up back in my Apartment. It'll be like you woke up from a bad dream, however you won't be able to rejoin my dream unless I wake up. But if I do, then we would end up at the beginning again." Madotsuki explained the purpose of death in the Dream World.

As Red fell down the deep dark chasm between the bridge, he would soon be surrounded by darkness itself and felt like he was falling.

Could this be it for the Pokemon trainer and his Pokémon? Would he have died and Madotsuki, Akechi, Vanitas and Hansel would have to continue on without him and his Pokémon for the rest of the mission?

A Eulogy for Red...

It looks that way.

Red will be remembered...

As the very best, that no way ever was.

To catch them was his real test, his training is his cause.

He would have battle---"Hey." Madotsuki would suddenly appear in front of Red. He would find himself back before he crossed the bridge, which was now broken when he tried to cross it, with Akechi, Vanitas and Hansel on the other side.

"When you fell down at the chasm, you went back here. My mind never really processed what's at the bottom of this chasm, so it just landed you where you were before the bridge broke, by the way." Madotsuki pointed over towards the bridge, before approaching it.

"The bridge is broken now." Madotsuki would glare at Red, blaming him for breaking it.

"Will you two be able to make it over to us?" Akechi shouted to the other side, as Madotsuki grabbed onto the rope, which was still connected to the other side of the chasm.

"You didn't have to yell. The other side isn't that far." Madotsuki decided to go next, while giving Red time to recover, she climbed onto the rope and began pulling herself over towards Akechi, Hansel and Vanitas.

Madotsuki wasn't good in the rope pulling category back in school, she fell down into the chasm three times and landed where Red was. She didn't even touch the rope in her second attempt, she only slipped and fell. She remained quiet when she landed near Red a third time.

This was going to take a lot more work then she thought.

Meanwhile, there was another obstacle that Akechi, Vanitas and Hansel would have to go through once Madotsuki and Red reach them, and that obstacle took the form of a river, it was small, but the water current was going fast. In the water however was colourful fish that were jumping up the air for a few seconds.

While Akechi was going to stay until Madotsuki and Red completed the first obstacle, Vanitas and Hansel could go on ahead and try and reach the Kingdom.

Or they can go fishing until everyone has arrived.

(If you decide to cross the river then you must roll a 15 in DEX to cross. However if you fail, then the water current will hit you, giving you 8 damage, and will also separate you from everyone else and take you out on sea!

The rainbow fish meanwhile, will get rid of the mortal wound status effect and will heal you by 10%. However you must catch them first and to catch a fish and eat one. You must be quick and nimble, and roll a 18 in DEX to catch one!)

If Hansel could frown, he would be frowning. But, only his sister could really tell his facial experessions having lived with each other for over a decade. He didn't want to leave until Red made it safely across, but there was little he could do to save Red or Madousuki. At least, he wasn't lost after falling, but falling like that can't be good for him. "Please Be Careful."

He looked ahead at the river that was the next thing to do. Then he noticed that there was fish in this river ahead of them. He scratched where a chin would be, then reached out a hand to one as it surfaced. Hansel touched it, but it quickly got away from him. The next one, Hansel wasn't even close. But with the third he threw out both hands. The first missed, but as the fish twitched in the air the second grabbed, and crushed it in his hand.

He was a little saddened by having to kill the fish, but he shoved it into the gaping mouth over his stomach. Surprisingly, Hansel even stopped bleeding and his wound scarred over. "These Fish Are Filled With Energy."

Vanitas just hops across the river but not before absorbing the Negative Emotions of his damaged allies. This filled him up for quite a bit and it made him feel empowered. "Ah that's it. Okay that was refreshing to say the least, this land sure is something." he said as he absorbed more power from them all. 

As for moving to get one of the fish well he didn't really need it right now so he would just proceed onward. Looking backward toward the others Vanitas would await their arrival. Because of their suffering he had obtained a lot of power, why not let them tag along so he could gain even more? That was definitely a good idea for sure. "Hurry it up." he said as he tapped his foot in impatience.

“I wish you told me that sooneeeee_eeer!!!” Red’s voice shouted up as he fell down into the dark abyss…Only to land back where he started. “Oof! ...Huh. I think blacked out for a second there.” Red shook his head, standing back up beside Madotsuki. “Hmm…” Red thought out loud and retrieved a Pokéquarter out of his pocket and flicked it into the hole and listened.
Instead of hitting any floor with an echoing clink, it just landed back in Red’s hand. “So that’s how that works.”
It was a bit of a wasted experiment, as Madotsuki demonstrated the chasm mechanics with her own body.
“Yeah, this is getting us nowhere.” Literally. “Go Ivysaur!” He tossed Ivysaur out of her Pokéball. “Morning already?” She stretched, not that much healed since going in.
“Ivysaur, how are your vines?” Red knelt down and asked.
“…Could be worse.” Ivysaur shrugged, surprised to find that her vines weren’t as damaged as the rest of her.
“Good. Then use Vine Whip on that bridge post!” Red commanded, pointing at one of the posts that held the bridge up.
“You mean we’re going to-?” Ivysaur asked, much to Red’s affirming nod.
“Hold on.” Red instructed Madotsuki, extending a hand for her to hold onto while his other picked up Ivysaur and held her under his shoulder.

“Hiya!”

“Nyaaahuahuaaaaaah!” Ivysaur hollered like a Mankey as they swung across.
“Way to go, Ivysaur.” Red congratulated, adding a little hug to his holding before putting her back down. “Get some rest for real this time, okay.” He smiled with a head tilt as he summoned Ivysaur back into her Pokéball. “Thanks for waiting.” He coolly nodded at Hansel.

“Lapras could have carried us all across with ease, but Go Squirtle!” Red shrugged and summoned Squirtle. “Five more minutes…” Squirtle yawned drowsily. “Maybe a cold swim will wake you up. Squirtle use Surf and get us across the river!” Red commanded. “Aye aye, Captain.” Squirtle saluted, promptly facing about so that Red could grab onto his shell. Red held onto Squirtle’s shell and dived into the river with him.

“Huh?” Unfortunately, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon didn’t take to the water as a Water Type should and they were both swept up by the dream current. “What’s the matter, Squirtle?”
“I don’t know!” Squirtle squeaked, beginning to lose his cool. “This dream stream is a nightmare!” He cried as he and his trainer were both swept downstream out to the dreamy sea.

Madotsuki didn't say anything as she grabbed onto Red and his Pokemon and watched as the group swung over towards the other side of the Canyon towards everyone else, well that was the Canyon done, but there was still the river that the group needed to cross.

"Thank goodness you all made it eventually." Akechi, who was standing nearby, looked relieved.

"At least nobody is stuck on the other side now." Madotsuki said.

"Still though, it's great that you all seem alright." He said as he and Madotsuki approached the river.

Unfortunately, while Vanitas had managed to cross the river with ease, Red and Squirtle weren't as lucky, they were quickly washed into the Ocean from a far as Madotsuki and Akechi watched.

"It's built on negative emotions, of course it's dangerous to cross!" Madotsuki yelled at the Pokemon trainer and his Pokemon as they washed away.

"Will they be alright?" Akechi wondered.

"They'll just wake up if they die in this dream world, so let's just cross this river before another one of those weird eclipses happens again." Madotsuki said. It was her and Akechi's turn to cross the river now and meet up with Vanitas.

However not even Madotsuki could brave the river, as she was quickly swept away too. "Mado-chan!" Akechi yelled, before he too was swept away as well, leaving on Hansel to cross the river. And even if he does cross it, the only other person that would be with him now was Vanitas.

Speaking of which, Vanitas, can go on ahead and let Hansel go through the river by himself, however there was still one more obstacle left before he reached the Kingdom.

A large forest, that seemed hard to navigate, and had various voices crying out. "Over here." "No, the exit is this way!" "No, over here!" They sounded like children, but which one was telling the truth?

(In order to follow the right voice and get through the confusion woods, you must roll a 19 in WIS. Should you fail, then you will get lost and eventually end up back at the Woods entrance...

It's best not to try and go over it.)

Elsewhere, Madotsuki, Akechi, Red and Squirtle would soon find themselves out in the Ocean. The currents quickly push the four away from the Island they were on until they were in the middle of nowhere.

"Well, obviously we need a boat to get back to the Island, before that stupid eclipse happens." Madotsuki said, that was when Akechi gasped.

"What's that shining light over there?" He said, pointing over towards a light from a far, as a heavy fog soon set in the part of the ocean the four had found themselves in.

Hansel watched as most of his comrades washed out down the river while the one, Vanitas, made it across successfully. Hearing that they wouldn't die if they fell in this dream realm gave Hansel some relief, and decided that he would try to press on, trying to walk across the river. But his footing slipped and the current also washed him out to sea. Hansel absently rubbed his recently closed wound as the saltwater still stung a little. "Hmm..."

As Vanitas proceeded down into the woodlands he overheard voices trying to confuse him on which direction was to go the right way or not. He would not be deterred however and decided against listening to them before proceeding down the trail.

Instead he would close his eyes and let negative emotions from these nightmares guide him to the other side. He could sense them there so he would shut everything else out.

And with that Vanitas had made it through the woods with no problems. "That brat better be grateful that I am getting so far into this place even without her. Does make me wonder where the others are though, not like I care." Vanitas said before proceeding toward the kingdom.

“Oh sure, Now you tell us!” Squirtle whined at Madotsuki as he and Red were washed down river. They were shaken, rattled, rolled and tossed to and forth by the mighty current, but Red held tightly to Squirtle’s shell throughout it all.
Who else should join them but…Madotsuki and Akechi as the rushing river spat them out into a dreamy sea. “Oh. It’s you two.” Squirtle blinked, popping his head out of his shell and above the water line. “For the record, I blame you.”
Up popped Red’s head. “Not as bad as Route 20, huh Squirtle?” He panted after spitting out some water at Madotsuki and Akechi before realizing they were there, much to Squirtle’s amusement.
“Well we can’t exactly phone for a Sharpedo out here… You guys can hold on to Squirtle or onto me.” Red shrugged. “To the light source. It might be a light house.” He pointed Squirtle. “Oh sure, Head Towards the Light~...” He rolled his eyes ominously. “...Definitely considering bringing Lapras next time.”

Vanitas had managed to get out of the confusion woods, and his efforts with making it through the three obstacles without any difficulty paid off, as beyond him was the entrance to the Kingdom at the other side of the Field.

Near the entrance were two strangely shaped guardsmen, who were preparing to head into the Castle, as by the looks of it, the next eclipse was coming quicker then they thought, they noticed Vanitas and grew weary of him because of his appearance, although they relented a little.

“Wait, he doesn’t look like one of those monster freaks from the eclipse.” One guard said.

“No, although he does look like someone that came out of a goth store.” The second guard proceeded to mock Vanitas. However, they didn’t want anyone to be outside of the Kingdom during the eclipse and by the looks of how large the moon looked, it was going to be a loong eclipse.



“You best come inside, the monsters around this Kingdom are strong. Hell, even we can’t fight them, nobody barely can.” The first guard warned to Vanitas. They soon went into the Kingdom regardless, and if Vanitas chose to enter, then he would find that the Kingdom itself, looked pretty normal and lively, with people going about their lives, pretending as though the threat around the Kingdom didn’t exist, or the eclipse.

In fact, if Vanitas looked up, he would see one of the monsters outside of the Kingdom vaporize the instant they even fly into the Kingdom’s range. It looks as though finding information about what exactly this Kingdom was and why it was part of Madotsuki’s subconscious dream world might be difficult.

Or not, as there were a few people nearby that were talking.

“Hey have you heard? the Queen apparently wants us to go to war with the nearby Pixie Kingdom.” One village girl said. Her friend scoffed at the very mention of war, she hated wars.

“Really, a war? The Pixie’s are suffering more than we do.” She said, but then she noticed her friend looking confused.

“What’s wrong?” She asked.

“What was the Pixie Kingdom like again? I forgot and need to know so me and the people that are around me, who will probably not use this information to their advantage can listen too.” The girl’s friend asked, sounding like someone from an animated show that started out great, but now has lost all creativity and love that it was known for.

“You know, the Pixie Kingdom? That big wooden Kingdom that’s in between this one and the Dock’s leading out into the sea? They’re two ways to reach the dock either through the Queen’s throne room, or through that dark and seedy alleyway next to us.” The Girl pointed towards a large castle at the other end of the Kingdom, presumably where this Queen lives and was likely the ruler of this Kingdom, before pointing towards a dark and creepy alleyway near Vanitas that he can go down.

But what will he do?

Elsewhere

Madotsuki looked over towards Red and his Pokemon as she floated next to Hansel.

“It’s just water, it won’t kill us.” She looked over towards Red when he offered to use himself or Squirtle for land until they reached the mysterious light which was now advancing towards them. After a brief pause, Madotsuki turned over towards Hansel.

“Can I climb on you instead?” She asked, before turning upwards into the sky after noticing something.

"I would like to ask the same thing too, I hate being in water for far too long." Akechi inquired, before noticing the darkened sky too.



“Uh oh.” She said, pointing upwards to the group to notice. The moon had turned red and so another eclipse was just about to begin.



The sea near the land that Madotsuki’s group had washed away from began turning, acidic green, and upon turning green large aquatic creatures began to rise from the acid water and turn towards the group. They hissed and quickly swam towards them, as well as the acid water.

“Hold on!” A friendly voice called out, as the group were quickly collected by a net and hoisted upwards towards the air. The sea creatures bumped into a large object and fell into the water, as the acid water quickly surrounded, what saved the group.

However it appears as though it was unaffected and wasn’t burning as a result. The group fell onto a floor, where it turns out, the mysterious light was in fact a ship, a ship whose crew saved the group’s life, or dream forms in this case.

Madotsuki didn’t thank the people that saved them. “Are you all alright?” One of the crew members asked, however, when Madotsuki looked up.

She was met by a wide range of skeleton pirates (One of which had an afro, wore a suit and held a violin as well as drinking a cup of tea, but he was in the back and she could barely see him.) “We saw you out at sea and came to pick you up before the next Eclipse. You don’t want to be out there whenever those eclipses happen.” The leader of the Skeleton pirate crew said.

“We already did.” Madotsuki said.

“So, where are you headed, to the Kingdom?” The Pirate leader asked the group.

"Yes exactly. Goro Akechi, please to meet your acquittance." Akechi would introduce himself to the Skeleton Pirate.

"This is Madotsuki." Akechi would introduce the girl to the group.

Madotsuki didn’t say anything else, and as for the pirates, there were seven of them in total. All of whom were in different shapes, sizes and in pirate costumes.

Vanitas knew these kind of people as he approached. Easily scared and easily manipulated. Vanitas hated acting but if he wanted to garner any information about this nightmare he needed to act 'noble' or at the very least not suspicious. So Vanitas would put on a fake character of sorts, his name would remain the same as he was too proud of it but he would make a bit of an attitude adjustment. How to go about this? "I am not a monster, if I was those things wouldn't have attacked me." Vanitas said as if he didn't really care. Vanitas looked practically unscathed too so that probably meant he was stronger than he looked or was good at running away, likely the guards would think the latter. As he walked inside the kingdom Vanitas took noticed of one of the monsters being vaporized as they got in the vicinity of this city. "That brat has an interesting imagination, dreaming up such a place." he muttered to himself.

Vanitas would wander around the city before overhearing two girls talking about things they probably shouldn't know, that or they were gossiping. Whatever the case Vanitas knew he couldn't just barge into the castle and demand to see the queen, as fun as that would be he would be surrounded by guards within the instant. That and he didn't know how powerful these guards were in this dream world, especially after barely escaping the monsters and skull princess. If he had to face over one hundred guards with that much power he'd be overwhelmed in seconds. That just left the alleyway then so he would proceed down that way. It would likely have a few thieves try to rob him or something as he proceeded down there. Not like it mattered, thieves were not well known to be very many or very strong so he wouldn't have any problems dispatching them.

Still in the back of his mind he couldn't help but wonder with just a tiny bit of curiosity how the rest of the party is managing. They were probably fairing a lot worse than he was right now since he was already in the kingdom, not that he cared really.

Hansel ascented to the other's  request to ride on top of him. "I Do Not Mind." Before they could clamber up onto him though, the situation changed rapidly around them. Soon they found themselves on a ship of the undead. But they seemed to be friendly undead, while the monsters in the water swam at them. He introduced himself along with Madosuki and Akechi "I Am Hansel."

Hansel sighed as he stared out at the monsters rushing towards them in the sea. "They Remind Me Of Home. Maybe This Thing We Pursue Is Similar To The Jail."

“You’re out here too?” Squirtle asked Hansel as they floated in the dream sea. “Didn’t even notice.” Red could only shoot Squirtle a glare for being so rude when the sky started to change. “That time, already, huh?” He sighed wistfully. “So… Whatever strikes this time is most likely to be Water Type...” Red began to strategize. “Would make it a job for Ivysaur... If she were in any condition to swim, that is…”
“Please tell me we’re not going to try to swim to shore…” Squirtle pleaded, Squirtle asked, pointing at the water in shore direction turning acid green. Huh. Normally they were used to acid being purple.
“...There goes Ivysaur’s type advantage. Definitely aught to switch to Espeon.” Red decided while Squirtle paddled away from the approaching monsters.
Luckily, they didn’t have to sink or swim soon for they were rescued by a passing ship.

“…Ghost types?” Squirtle whimpered, retreating into his shell. “...And there goes Espeon’s type advantage.” Red said flatly. “Thank you for saving us, by the way.” Remembering his manners, Red cleared his throat and bowed his head to them, Kanto style. “The name’s Red. And this is Squirtle.”
“H-hello?” Squirtle greeted, extending only a waving blue paw out of his shell.

Vanitas' search for getting into the castle wasn’t going to be a long wait, as at the same time he pondered over not being able to get into the castle because of the guards. A large announcement soon soured over the Kingdom.

“Queen N’Here. Since I am a generous Queen, we celebrated “Love thy Queen'' Day yestern’er. I will grant today a special day off for my guards. Don’t worry about me getting into danger, I doubt with the protective spell against those dastardly monsters outside the Kingdom of Limosy Spherium that nothing bad will happen to me. Now go, go and do whatever it is you all do during your time off from protecting my very life from being taken.`` The message came through a few large megaphones placed around the Kingdom, so everyone could hear it. Upon hearing this announcement the citizens soon went back from doing what they’re doing.

And giving Vanitas the opportunity to enter the Castle without any hassle. Should he do that though, he would be met with two paths near the Queen’s castle.

One that directly goes into the castle, with the door of it even open for him to freely walk in.

Or a smaller, darker path that would take him to the boat docks just outside of the Kingdom. Judging from the distant view, the Dock’s, despite being outside the Kingdom, doesn’t appear to be affected by the Eclipse, so Vanitas could explore that area without any difficulties.

“Why it is humble to meet you all, and thank you for thanking us with saving you!” The leader of the Skeleton Pirate group said.

“As for us, let us introduce you through song—No.” Madotsuki interrupted as she walked over towards the steering wheel of the ship.

“There’s no time for introducing comic relief characters when one of our own has gone missing, besides.” Madotsuki looked down towards everyone.

“I don’t think the Nightmare Item is on that land that we just washed away from, no.” Madotsuki turned behind her.

“I think it’s in another place. One where we have to use this boat to get towards.” Madotsuki looked down towards the Pirate Captain leader, as well as Akechi.

“You there, the Leader. You came from somewhere else right? What was it?” She asked.

“Oh, that will be the land of Pixvania. It’s a land full of Pixies—Yeah, I get it from the obvious name.” She said, interrupting the Pirate Leader again.

“Madotsuki, what are you doing hijacking these nice Skeleton Pirates ship?” Akechi asked, slightly embarrassed by Madotsuki’s actions as she steered the boat over towards the land that the group (Except for Vanitas) Just washed out from, and went towards the back where that Kingdom was.

“I’m sensing that the Nightmare Item is on Pixie, whatever it’s called. So we need to get Vanitas and start making our way towards it, seeing as how he hasn’t washed out into the sea yet, or hasn’t been boiled alive by the acid ocean. Our safest bet is that he made it to that Kingdom over there so we have to go and pick him up.” Madotsuki said, before looking back down towards the Skeleton Pirate.

“Do you know where we can get into the Kingdom?” She asked.

“Well uh, there’s some Docks just outside of one of them, the Kingdom of Limosy Spherium. You know that right?” The Leader asked, looking back up to Madotsuki after pointing towards the direction of the Kingdom.

“No, but I’m going towards a Kingdom at least.” Madotsuki said, before pulling the gear beside her forward.

Wait, why does this ship have a car gear? Either way, it was going faster now towards the Limosy Spherium’s docks!

“Wait you can’t park in the Docks. Only humans are allowed in Limosy Spherium!” The Pirate Leader warned as his crew screamed.

Madotsuki looked over at Red and Akechi.

“There’s three humans here, so we should be allowed to park at the Docks, and any ship that gets in our way will be crushed.” Madotsuki clenched her hand as she got closer towards Limosy Spherium.

And to where Vanitas is, granted if he decides to go to the Docks.
