Zelda
Hyrule/Legend of Zelda
Alignment: Lawful Good
Motto: “SNORE”
Allies/Friends: Link
Enemies/Rivals: Ganon
Backstory: Wiki
Following the defeat of Yuga and the Triforce being returned to the royal family of Hyrule, the kingdom flourishes toward a new era, one that is commonly referred to as the Golden Era. The Triforce remained in the hands of the successive kings for a number of generations, up until the end of the Golden Era.
The last king of this generation, Zelda’s father, experiences a bout of hesitation in passing the Triforce down to his son, the heir to the throne. Due to this doubt, he splits the Triforce back into its three pieces and hides the Triforce of Courage within a secret location, one that would only reveal itself to whoever it deems worthy of its power. Before his death, the King confides in his daughter one last time, revealing the location of the Triforce of Courage.
When the Prince inherits the role of King, he quickly discovers that his father had only passed down two of the three pieces of the Triforce, leaving it incomplete, and thus less powerful than it once was. In his search for the third piece of the Triforce, the newly appointed King comes into contact with a magician that had worked for his late father. He revealed that his sister knew the secret of the Triforce of Courage, so, together they go to confront her.
Upon being interrogated, Princess Zelda ceased up. Her father had warned her that her brother couldn’t be trusted with the Triforce’s power, so she refused to give up the location, no matter what they threatened her with. The Magician was quickly angered by Zelda’s stubborn nature, threatening to put her into an eternal slumber if she didn’t relinquish her father’s secrets. Even still, knowing that the fate of Hyrule could be at stake, she kept her lips sealed.
In rage, the Magician cast his spell on the princess, much to the King’s shock. Try as he might to keep the Magician from harming his sister, the King was no match for the mysterious wizard. The Magician finished his ritual, then immediately afterwards both he and Princess Zelda fell to the floor, limp as corpses. The Magician would be discovered as dead, but Zelda was as the Magician said, trapped within an eternal slumber.
Grief stricken, the King placed his sister’s body in a secluded and guarded section of the castle, placed upon a memorial-esque bed until she would once more be awakened. From that day forth, the King decreed that all females in the royal family be named after his sister Zelda… which was already a tradition passed down by generations before his, but now it was law.
Without the complete Triforce, or perhaps based on the King general lack of competence, this marked the end of the Golden Era and the beginning of the Era of Decline. The King passed away long before he could ever see his sister reawaken, her youthful form remaining as he withered away. For a number of generations, Princess Zelda remained on her bed, sleeping without any awareness of the aging world around her.
The Triforce of Courage became a forgotten relic, a thing of legends. Up until the hero of Hyrule, the vanquisher of the newly revived Ganon, wakes up one day with the mark of the Triforce on the back of his hand. Showing the mark to Impa, Link is taken to Zelda’s chamber and is told of the legend of the Triforce of Courage.
Chosen by the Triforce of Courage, Link proceeds to do what Link does best, bombing Dodongos and raiding temples. His adventure eventually leads him to the hiding place of the Triforce of Courage, the Great Palace. Upon completing the last trial and proving his worth by defeating his darker half, he claims the last piece of the Triforce and returns to Zelda’s chamber. The power of the Triforce proves to be enough to break the curse and reawakens the princess for the first time in generations.
Appearance:
History On Li: Zelda arrived on Li in a state that had become quite familiar to her, asleep. How she got on Li is a mystery to her, how long she’s been here is an even greater question. The best she knows is that she was found one day, placed in the middle of the Black Market, and then she was miraculously awakened to enter a strange and unknown world. There were a few details that stuck out, such as a Deku Scrub claiming ownership of her while she was asleep, but what that meant was a mystery to her.
Up until her arrival on Li, her memory is a bit hazy. She spent much of her life asleep and dreaming, so she isn’t exactly certain what parts of her life after the Magician’s spell was real, if any of it was at all. If anything was for certain though, the Life Sphere and Li were real tangible things, they weren’t a dream. So, was this the first time she had been awake since the casting of the spell, or were her memories with the green boy back in Hyrule real? If so, had she really been asleep for generations? Had her kingdom fallen around her without her even realizing it?
Primary Attacks (3)
Light Force: Utilizing the mystical abilities of her bloodline, Zelda is capable of conjuring light from either her own essence or that of another. This can be used in a variety of ways, including as physical orbs or pillars of divine light to inflict harm upon her enemies! [6%-16%]
Din’s Fire: Conjuring a fraction of Din’s destructive power, Zelda summons a fireball forth, one that explodes upon her command. Due to this, this attack requires a lot of focus to use correctly, so the more accurate this attack is, the more damage it does.
5 or below: 4% + 10% chance to Burn.
6-10: 7% + 20% chance to Burn.
11-15: 10% + 30% chance to Burn.
16-19: 13% + 40% chance to Burn.
20+: 16% + 50% chance to Burn.
Spell of Slumber: A puff of glittery magic flicks from Zelda’s fingers, primarily aimed at an opponent’s face. Upon making contact with opponent’s skin, it gives off a slight burning sensation, followed by an intense spell of dreariness. This deals 8% damage to the opponent, in addition to having a 60% chance of inflicting them with sleep. Unfortunately, this attack also has a 25% chance of inflicting Sleep on Zelda.
Special Attacks (3)
Farore’s Wind: Encircling her body with the mystical winds of Farore, Zelda can suddenly displace herself from one place on the battlefield to somewhere else completely. This can be quite useful for escaping grapples or other such attempts at detainment, though her WIS roll still needs to beat whatever roll check is in place. Alternatively, she can utilize this for strategic purposes, teleporting behind an enemy or within better shot of a weak point. If used in this way, it grants Zelda’s next attack an accuracy boost of +2 and a damage boost of +5%. 1 turn cooldown.
Nayru’s Love: Summoning an aspect of Nayru’s power, Zelda encases herself in a crystalline structure to both protect herself and fend off nearby enemies. This attack deals 10% to any enemy within a 1 meter radius, in addition to reflecting a projectile targeted at Zelda back at the user for x1.5 damage. Zelda’s WIS roll for this move must be greater than the user’s attack roll, otherwise, it will break straight through her shield and damage Zelda directly.
Hylia’s Grace: Utilizing the holy magic of her ancestors, Zelda manifests the power of Hylia to absolve an ally or herself of injuries they have sustained. This heals for 1d12 + Zelda’s CHR Mod. If a nat 12 is rolled, then this move also heals a status condition of Zelda’s choice from the target. 3 turn cooldown.
Final Smash (0)
