Mission Brief:
“Check it, freelancing investigators, the Police Force’s got a weird one for you! Not weird in the ‘my pants have become self aware and started eating people’ way, no! Weird in the weird way! You ever heard of New Leaf Town? Pleasant little village over by the Polluted Coast. You heard me right, its just sitting out there, and for as long as we’ve been monitoring it, the Starvia doesn’t even touch that plot of land despite activity being high everywhere else around it. That’s not why I’m putting out this message though, nuh-uh.
Y’see, that place is thriving with villagers, all of which seem to live happy and sunshiny lives without a care in the world about what’s going on with the rest of the planet. I’ve sent a few Toad Officers to investigate a while back, the people there didn’t even seem to know or care that the Life Sphere existed and wouldn’t acknowledge the existence of the Starvia. They offered my guys a place to stay and a good meal, but they decided to head back here instead. Didn’t have a good vibe about it.
That was a couple years back now and there doesn’t seem to be anything different with that place, except, we got a letter, addressed from New Leaf Town. Just today, it showed up at our door. Take a look, I’ll lend you a copy.
Hello neighbour!
I’ve overhead that you folk at the Life Sphere have been running low on food! That just won’t do! I feel really bad for you guys, maybe you should grab a couple of friends and come over for a visit. I can make all kinds of snacks! Some to fill up your bellies and others you can bring back home! I’d hate to hear about you guys going hungry. Just don’t tell Hornsby though, he’ll try to take all the snacks for himself!

“Like I said, weird. Nobody saw who dropped off this letter, and there’s no record of Gayle or any other known villager coming into the Life Sphere. This is the first time we got a letter from them, the first time they’ve acknowledged our presence and the Life Sphere in general. Couldn’t tell you what it means, but that’s where you come in. I think its time for us to start a more thorough investigation into this New Leaf Town, maybe we’ll learn a few of their secrets now that they seem to want to cooperate.
Appearances could be deceiving though, proceed with caution. Ch’yes!
