Character Name: Dark Link
Home Planet/Origin: The Shadows of Hyrule
Preferred Motto: "What is...this pain..."
Appearance(Can be slightly different than the character choice):
Good or Bad: Neutral.
History On Li: A long time ago right before the devastation of the universe explosion, years beforehand, there was a great and powerful darkness that befell the land of Hyrule, a darkness so black, so cold, that anybody who was a witness to it, became comatose for 7 days without remembering exactly what had happened. One survivor of the darkness, however, Link, remembered that day better than any other. He was out traversing the great mountains near the land of the Goron when the darkness hit and there was nowhere for him to hide to avoid it. He was able to survive this period of dark decadence due to the power of the Triforce of Courage that had been in his possession during this time. It shielded him from its lingering effects.
Upon witnessing such a testimonial event, Link had taken out his ocarina to sing a tune of knowledge, to find out what was creating such a catastrophe. An image of dark and brooding figures deep underneath the kingdom of Hyrule was shown to him, a vision of demonic and twisted worshipers of a god that has never been spoken of in all the lands and kingdoms of the Hyrulian nations. A god whose name should never be said or heard, a god of shadows and deceit, a god with a history that is never remembered. Because no one ever knew the name of this king of evil, he was only known as a whisper. Link was the sole being whomever came close to knowing of him.
As Link continued to look up at the blackness in wonder, a grey cloud began to appear from the dark above him, and it slowly descended to his body, and began circling the Hyrulian warrior like a mist. Link felt suffocated, like he couldn't breathe and became trapped by the fog as if filled his body starting from his nostrils to his mouth, and binding around him until every part of his body was covered in it inside and out. Unable to take the torment, Link faints with his fairy, Navi, nowhere to be found. He falls into a deep sleep and begins to dream.
As he sleeps he starts to see a figure in the distance, all black, and upon further inspection, he could see that it looked just like him, but much darker, much more intimidating. He walked closer to it, and he could see that without a doubt, it was him. It was some kind of sadistic version of himself that could only be described as a living nightmare. Without saying a word this version of him began to engage in battle with Link. The battle lasted what seemed like hours until Link was able to best him with a carefully placed stab through its shoulder.
Once he wounded the creature, he awoke, on the very same mountains he had journeyed on, but his OWN shoulder was injured when he came to. He screamed out in pain. When he got to his feet, he looked straight ahead of him and saw the dark figure living and breathing right in front of his face. Its own shoulder was still injured. They were sharing the same pain. They stared at eachother for a substantial amount of time, the dark one only showing a gaze of spite, while Link was much more concerned. Moments go by until Link's dark counterpart starts to realize its freedom, and runs off into the shadows that trail down the mountain side. After he escapes, the dark sky gradually turns back to a deep blue with rays of sunlight peeling across the floating clouds. Being the only living being who remembered such an event, Link to this day refuses to talk about it, for it was the creation of one of his greatest enemies, a dark and sinister demon who mimicked both the look and talents of Link himself. He didn't know who created such a hellspawn, but it was a big part of his mission to find out as he fulfilled his destiny of bringing peace to Hyrule.
As the years went by Dark Link adapted on his own, forging his own life and personality surviving off of crime at first, but eventually learning to live on his own and off the land. As he struggled in his existence, just as he began to give up hope finding his one true purpose, a large explosion began to rupture and divide the lands in which him and his other half were so accustomed to. It started with quakes, then volcano eruptions, then deadly storms, and just when he thought he pushed through the worst of it, the entire continent in which he tread upon blew up into pieces. There was a massive plume of smoke and fire, and then Dark Link had suddenly found himself in a wasteland of toxic gas and death all around him. He didn't know if he was dead or alive at first, or how he came to be there, but in the distance he saw a gigantic crater, and he knew right then what had happened.
He had surveyed every inch of the crater only to find no sign of his former home, or of Link. He did however see others like him wondering around the wastes eventually, black in form, beaming eyes, he wondered about them, asked them questions, but they never answered his whims. Some even started to follow him around mindlessly like he was some kind of leader to them. Could they be of the same ancient and evil origins? He refused to believe it. He scoured the new and strange territory he suddenly found himself in until he saw what looked like a city, a city protected by a bubble. He winced and sneered in a boiling anger at the location. There he was, he had sensed Link in the city, and Link was protected. For the first time ever, Dark Link couldn't get to him, Link was safe...and this was a problem.
Venturing to the sphere knowing he wouldn't dare enter the way he currently looked, which was like the creatures outside such a place, he circled the giant city which took him days and entered the rear entrance. He followed suit into the Sphere when he saw the back latch open to allow a troupe of adventurers passage to the wastelands beyond. He had grabbed a tattered robe he had found off of a stationed guard asleep and on watch a few miles back and cloaked himself in it sneaking his way through the open latch before it closed again. He then stuck within the shadows until he made his way to the Black Market where he easily fit in with the dark natured lurkers in the area. He then took shelter in one of the vacant stalls which lined the alley ways and remains there this very day. Hiding, thinking, trying to figure out exactly where he was, how it happened, and more importantly, how to keep an eye on Link without being caught. For now he would blend in with everyone else, for now, he would cooperate. But when the time is right, he will always do what only he can do, and that is find Link, and destroy him when his guard is down.
Storied History(Optional): Dark Link has always existed, following Link everywhere since birth, a shadow, a stalker, a part of Link in every way. Nothing is certain how he came to be, whether it was being conjured by some ritualistic psychopaths worshiping a malevolent god, or by Link's own imagination. In some ways he NEEDED to be created, in other ways, he WANTED to be created. The balance of both had caused it to develop his own conscience, his own personality, and choosing his own freedoms.
As much as he tried to escape from Link, he always finds himself being drawn back to him as if he was a test to the warrior that needed to stick around to sharpen the skills of the Hyrulian or possibly to kill him one day when it finds his lighter brethren weakened and unprepared. He is both always waiting to strike, and yet at the same time, also trying to find his purpose in life.
The more time that goes by, the smarter he feels like he is becoming, the more independent he starts to feel, and slowly but surely, the more of a purpose he begins to find, that surprising to himself, starts to veer more and more away from being a connection to Link, and more towards having its own agenda for a bigger cause it does not yet know.
It is always on the move in shadows and in darkness to stalk Link whenever it feels like he is losing himself even slightly from either mental exhaustion, physical exhaustion, insanity, or emotional instability, he always knows when his other self is slipping, and he will always be compelled to attack whenever it is apparent that Link starts to fade.
He never has the urge to help Link in any way, only to hurt him. He does, however, have occasions where he feels like he needs to help other beings that seek it. He cannot figure out why he has this desire with others, but not with Link, he simply does what his instincts say nearly every time, and when he sees something that is necessary in which benefits him or is a life or death situation, he will act upon it tenfold.
The rest of his story is a big blur, and he is constantly trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together in terms of finding the reason for his existence, it is a constant struggle and he doesn't handle it well. He only goes where he feels like he needs to be, whether that be for good or bad reasons, he will be there...watching...waiting...deciding...and taking action.

Primary Attacks(3):
Dark Slashes -- Slashes several times with dark energy based stabs using the Dark Master Sword.
Rageful Bashing -- Bashes foe(s) with his shield, then proceeds with a knee strike and a smack with the handle of his sword. This attack can become more powerful the more angry Dark Link is. Can hit multiple targets if fully enraged. The higher the strength roll, the more damage.
Dagger Mastery -- Dark Link pulls out a dagger which is hidden in a different area of his clothing each time he battles. The opponent is rarely ever aware of this concealed attack, and shivs it in the rib of the opponent if a frontal assault, if it is an attack from behind, it does double the damage and leaves the foe frozen in a shivering state for one turn. This attack can be coupled or combo'd with another basic attack for surprise elements in exchange for giving up the use of his shield during the dagger's use. This requires a high dexterity roll to do the double damage and freeze. 15 or more otherwise it just does damage.
Special Attacks(3):
Black Tornado -- Dark Link spins his Dark Mastersword in a speedy tornado like sweep creating a black cyclone which covers his sword and his body as he attacks making him and the edge of his weapon difficult to see adding an element of surprise. It has a radius of 5 feet. Hits multiple targets. This move also has a 30 percent change to inflict sickness. Dark Link will get more dizzy the more this attack is used. Must roll dexterity to prevent dizziness after 3 uses.
Haunt Bomb -- Dark Link takes out a sizable bomb in which he holds in the palm of his hand. If he takes it out using his right hand, the bomb will explode upon being thrown making a black flame that fills his foes with both pain and a temporary blindness of five seconds. If he takes the bomb out with his left hand, he will modify it to be thrown and stick to the foe blowing up at a random time as a normal dark explosion. His right handed bombs hit multiple opponents with a radius of ten feet, his left handed bombs only hit one with a radius of ten feet. Roll for strength in right hand, roll for intelligence with other hand.
Victorian Chain Arrow -- Dark Link takes out an ancient and magic imbued bow and arrow. A chain is attached which means when he fires it he can then use it like a Hookshot to zip line him to the area it landed on. If it hits an opponent however, and makes contact with the skin, it will stick into the skin and make the foe shiver uncontrollably for one turn or until the arrow is removed. It has an armor piercing effect, but if it hits armor, it will only do minor damage to the foe. This attack can also end up getting stuck sometimes and become difficult to reel back. Dark Link needs to be focused on his aim and absolutely still for it to hit properly. Roll for dexterity.
Ultimate Attack(1):
Triforce of Power - Necro Storm -- Dark Link takes out the Triforce of Power and his Dark Master Sword grows two times bigger. He then begins spinning into a tornado and slashes in a circle continuously making the tornado bigger and bigger until it engulfs the entire area. This move hits all combatants for severe damage and has a 40 percent chance to cause the sickness status ailment. After the tornado ends, Dark Link's sword goes back to normal size and the Triforce of Power vanishes.
