Coco was puzzled at the lab assistants coming by for a moment. She didn't order help outside the masks for help in this mission... She watches them walk off with a puzzled look and tilt of her head. Well, whatever worked. "Got it! Don't worry, I'll make sure your efforts aren't wasted. See ya again some time," Coco waved off before looking down at her pad. "Alright, looks like we got our sample on time. The others should be finishing up soon hopefully," The bandicoot thought before returning to her computer for a moment. Kronika still being out there kind of bothered her. What exactly was she planning next?
"Is it just me or did Eggman go out of his way to pick the most wreckless and destructive group he could?! Was he trying to kill us?!" Lani-Loli complained. "One of them was... Well I don't even know how tall he is, but he stands out like a sore thumb. What was he thinking?" the mask added questioningly.
"... Don't know but everything worked out in the end so it's fine. Thanks for the warning by the way, Kupun-Wa. I almost did not notice the files were tampered with," she adds looking to the time mask.
"It was no problem, dear. I just thought I'd tell you the discrepancy in history," Kupun-Wa warmly replied. The question of who did it was still in the air. "... Can you tell what Kronika will do next?" Coco asked the mask. "... Unfortunately not. Time is full of uncertainties when you look into the future. Lots of outcomes but only one is possible," she replied. They don't really have time to explore every possibility admittedly.
"... Egg... Man..." the purple mask uttered drawing Coco's attention away from the mask and to her boss. "Well done, Coco. Now, the sample, please," he ordered holding his hand out but Coco merely raised a brow. "... You told me to deliver it directly to the people making a cure. What's the change in plans?" she questioned as she held the sample away from him.
"... You let the time titan slip away and now anomalies are popping up all over the Life Sphere. If I can't finish the Time Eater then this could end in ruin. I don't have anything substantial to give it back it's energy right now. So if you'll please," he explained to which Coco shook her head. "You want to empower that thing with the Starvia Experiment to take on the anomalies. Are you aware how crazy that sounds?" she asked, moving to walk away.
"There will be no point in curing it if that Titan reduces the city to rubble," Eggman pointed out, slamming his fist down. "There will be no point in saving the city if the infection takes over!" Coco counterargued. The two were just silent for a moment as the masks watched.
"... Ivo. If you'll allow me," Kupun-Wa offered after a moment, breaking the tension. "I might have a solution to both problems if you'll slow down and talk with me," she offered to which the doctor grabbed his mustache for a moment. "... Alright. Coco, how much of your team is still standing?" Eggman directed after a moment sighing. "... Just two. The others were felled by the past Galacta Knight," Coco answered. "Be prepared to call them back if necessary. Now get that sample to them while I and the Quantum Masks talk," Eggman dismissed. Coco looked to the masks, two of them were silent and watching, Lani-Loli was shaking his head vigorously but Kupun-Wa gave a reassuring nod. She returned the nod before turning to leave.
"..." Galacta Knight looked on as the Quantum Rifts closed before back to Geras. "... You did not pursue them," he noted to the altered life form. "... You would of stopped me if I tried," he answered simply to which Galacta Knight just silently answered. "You know, even if your power matches your claim to being the strongest there is, not even you can't kill me. I will beat you eventually," Geras remarked to which Galacta Knight chuckled.
"... I don't need to kill you," the Knight said after a moment. "All we need to do is break you," he said coldly. "You can try," Geras returned with zero fear before stepping forward. However a sharp pain suddenly shot through his mind causing him to stagger. An attack he could not predict, preceive or comprehend. "What... How?" he questioned, attempting to move again before the pain intensified. "Resistance is futile. All that awaits you now is enduring pain for all eternity, always building, you may not die, but you will wish you can," a voice spoke in his head. After a while of trying to fight it he eventually just went quiet as he collapsed, unable to move.
"... Just in time Giyagas, I shall be going before time resumes," Galacta Knight remarks before teleporting off with Geras's body. "... Allow me to inquire something, Sword," Giyagas asked after a moment. "Why exactly did you protect those two? Whether or not they endured your onslaught held no importance. They aren't even from this time. Not to mention you abandoned our experiment," the alien questioned. "We can guess the results well enough from their presence... And I can not say for certain. The hooded one had something in her eyes..." Galacta Knight pondered. "... Her eyes?"
"... Call it instinct. As for the other one... A fire of vengence burned strong in her. She holds a lot of potential. This time or the future, does not matter. She will have my attention," he adds. He threw Geras into a room in his base before returning to his plans in his timeline.
