Viewtiful Joe was definitely not out of the fight yet. He had taken a lot of hits from Captain Falcon as he felt like he was on his last legs. Truth be told it wasn't looking good as Captain Falcon had blocked his last Six Cannon. Last being the actual term he had to use because if he did it again the recoil would knock him out. Joe was definitely feeling spry though because of his Slow Motion but how long could it last? Joe would make sure to take the win and be the champ. Nothing was going to stop him!

Joe successfully dodges out of the way of the Falcon Kick as Captain Falcon breezed right by him!

Another successful dodge by Joe as he came close to game over but this was not to be!

Before the first Knee Jab could hit Joe activated his Bubble Shield just in time to absorb the blow. Joe did not take any damage from that attack but it was just enough to shatter his shield! Activation 19% - 10% - 9% = 0%!

Joe breathed a sigh of relief as he was definitely cutting it close with those last few attacks. "Alright I'm still just as fast Captain Falcon. Time to show you a thing or two." 

"Mach Speed!" 

STR rolls for Mach Speed: Does 5% damage per hit plus 10% Burn and 10% Slow because of Slow Motion.

Lastly Joe would attempt two consecutive Red Hot Kicks:

"Man this is definitely wearing me out. Whoever wins it's all in good fun alright? For Charity's sake of course." Joe smirked as he got himself out of all that. Thing was this was likely it now as his Slow Motion had just run out.

(Disclaimer: due to staff reasons, the original rolls I made in this post got fudged. If this was any other point in the match, I would have rewritten this post from the ground up, but I really wasn’t interested in rewriting the 1000+ words I had up to that point and the new rolls I had changed the outcome enough to be a pain to edit).

Once more, Captain Falcon took the calm between blows as an opportunity to catch his breath and sweat off the energy he burned in his last assault. As he knelt there, he felt like that last bit was all that he had left in the tank, but in the condition that Viewtiful Joe was in, that had to be it, right?

Just as he thought he was out though, he heard Joe’s voice hollering from behind him, causing his head to swing back in exhaustion. Captain Falcon didn’t even question how he could have survived past his last assault, instead he fantasized about what it would be like to be young and spry like Joe again. Just imagining it made his back hurt just a little bit less.

It wasn’t time to get nostalgic though! It was time for action! Once more, the chief of police tapped into his well of reserved energy, hopping out of his kneeling position. He summoned a bit of his falcon energy to give him an extra boost into the air, just enough to sail out of Joe’s reach. While in freefall, he spun his body in a number of different positions, difficult enough to follow that Joe’s Mach Speed jabs just barely missed their marks. “Whew! That Red Hot Energy’s no joke!” he hollered between breaths.

Captain Falcon landed back on his feet, though instead of tall and proud like usual, he was hunched over, his chest wobbling from side to side as he put up his dukes. “But it’s gonna take more than-” before he could finish that sentence, Viewtiful Joe blindsided him with a Red Hot Kick. His flaming foot came into his line of vision at the last second. It felt like it was all in slow motion. Try as he might to whirr his body out of harm’s way, his well of energy was beyond dry. It was like sucking on an empty juice box that’s been out in the desert sun for four days.

The Red Hot Kick struck him squarely in the chest, causing Captain Falcon to fly backwards with an ear ringing “OOOooo!” His body tumbled across the arena with a puttering sound until the momentum finally petered out. The Captain was left flat on his back for a second, his chest softly expanding and compressing. He turned his head to Joe with a smile and a thumbs up, letting out one last “Ch’yes!” before his expression froze. Light enveloped his body, transforming his soft flesh into the stiff plasticky material of a trophy.

The audience cheered with the match’s conclusion, confetti sprinkling down from the spectator stands. Amongst the raining debris, MC Ballyhoo fluttered through the air, his hat propeller guiding him through the confetti. “WOAH! What a show, ladies and germs!” he announced through his microphone as he descended toward the battlefield. “Glue yourselves back to your seats though, the curtains haven’t been drawn just yet!”

The squat man hobbled over to Joe once he landed, a joyful spring in his step. “You, my Red Hot friend, earned yourself a nice refreshing drink!”

“Stop hitting on our contestants.”

“Shush, Big Top!” he hushed with a flick at his hat. Like a magician, a martini shaker suddenly materialized into Ballyhoo’s hands. He gave the container a couple stern shakes, the rattling of ingredients unknown filling the air for the moment. Once it was complete, he popped the lid off and took a good whiff. “Ah! A classic Full Restore! But, with Lt. Surge’s secret recipe! Enjoy responsibly, my friend!” he loudly uttered. He popped his hat off, grabbing the little designer stool off his head and setting it next to Joe, gently and neatly placing the Full Restore on top of it.

MC Ballyhoo turned back to the crowd quickly afterward. “Now then! It’s time to boot up our Combat Calculator TM!” As he made this announcement, a giant LCD screen rose from the ground behind him, shaking the dirt and dust off of itself in the process. “Utilizing an advanced algorithm designed by Big Top himself, we can determine who out performed the competition!”

“… Stop crediting me for things I didn’t design, I get enough hate mail for the stuff I actually do.”

The screen was split up into two halves, both having an image at the top of them. The images themselves seemed to be snapshots of the most compromising positions that either of them were in during the fight. Underneath that was a set of zeroes, looking like an alarm clock was not set. In due time though, the zeroes turned into a scrambling of random numbers.

“AH HA HA! While that’s underway” he trailed off as he snapped on a headband with a circular mirror. “It’s time for MC Ballyhoo to become Dr. Ballyhoo!”

“… What a horrifying concept.”

MC Ballyhoo merrily skipped his way over to Captain Falcon’s trophy, pulling two DeDeDe Broaches out of his pocket once he came to a stop. He rubbed the two baubles against one another like a pair of defibrillators, then pressed them against the trophy. “Clear!”

In a bright flash of light, a renewed Captain Falcon stepped back onto his feet, taking a clean breath of fresh air. With open arms, Ballyhoo greeted him with “AH HA HA! Welcome back to the world of the living! You’re just in time for the final results!” On cue, the flashing numbers settled on solid integers. Captain Falcon: 319, Viewtiful Joe: 278. “There you have it folks! Your Charity Champion is-”

Before the winner could be announced, the sound of a cannon blasting echoed through the stadium. From above the rim of the coliseum, a sinister ethereal arrow was shot into the arena itself, its trajectory unmistakeably directed toward Captain Falcon. The man himself heard the blast, throwing his head in the direction of it. The sinister shot was barreling toward him like a speeding bullet. He took evasive maneuvers and leapt out of the way at the nick of time, the arrow gliding just past him.

MC Ballyhoo was less fortunate. Being right behind Captain Falcon, the arrow went directly toward him next. All he could do was open his maw wide and shout “WHOA!” before it struck him. Big Top flew off his head at the last second, as if Ballyhoo’s raised eyebrows launched him off. Ballyhoo’s body instantly reduced to its trophy state, falling over like checkmated king.

“WHA HA HA!” a sinister laugh entered the stadium. “Waluigi the winner!” the purple plumber boasted. His position above the stadium’s seating was instantly given away. There stood Waluigi, wielding a smoking dark cannon. His mirthful face was quickly drowned out by rage as his eyes fell upon a perfectly healthy Captain Falcon and then the trophy of MC Ballyhoo. “WAH!? No fair! Waluigi aimed for stupid police chief!” He smacked the dark cannon and prepped it to fire again, but it merely blew out a puff of smoke. “Hunk of junk!”

Captain Falcon’s head whipped toward Waluigi, pointing his finger menacingly. “You’re not getting away this time!” he hollered with a shaking fist. From his suit, the chief of police pulled out his walkie talkie and placed it next to his ear. “All units, converge on my coordinates! Waluigi’s been spotted!” All that relayed back from his device was static.

“Waluigi think so!” he cackled one last time before hopping off the roof, disappearing behind the walls of the coliseum and into the streets below.

Try as he might to futz with his radio, nothing came back but static. Something was certainly sinister. Captain Falcon quickly turned to Viewtiful Joe then. “Comms are down! Waluigi’s on the loose with a Trophy-Locking weapon, I’ll explain on the way, but right now, I need all the help I can get!” he spoke urgently, pointing to the exit of the stadium, ready to run at the slightest nod from his fellow combatant.

With the battle won and the fight over Joe definitely had to give the fact that Captain Falcon put his all in this fight as did he of course. As he was given a full restore he could feel his health being well restored back to full. No other way to put it really but Captain Falcon was looking a little worse for wear as they were trophied before Ballyhoo got him out of that state.

With the charity winner very likely going to be Captain Falcon, that was about to be announced due to the high numbers, something odd happened as a black arrow shot out toward Captain Falcon. Instead of hitting him it hit Ballyhoo and turned him into a trophy.

"What was that?!" Joe exclaimed as he then got a visual on Waluigi who had shot the dark cannon at Captain Falcon. Apparently he was a wanted criminal and the police chief needed his help with this since the coms were down. "Right lets go. C'mon Six Machine!" he called out as his small aircraft picked him up and he flew out toward where Captain Falcon was headed.
