Aboard an Iron Vessel, The Group of Five cuts through the Infected Black Sea, As Vergil stands at the Starboard Bow, His Katana resting under his arms as he stands, staring directly at the land ahead of them. Truly what was ahead, was a Challenge, as the Black Skies of Li, And the Utter Silence only served to heighten the dread, and stakes of where they were going. The Island of Demon's, Mallet Island.
Vergil stared at the Upcoming island with an intense gaze, narrowing his eyes and gripping the white handle of Yamato, Before moving it up and sliding it into his side holster, Looking behind him to the Group before him. Shadow, Axel, Yumiko and Amithree.
"...Be Ready." Was all that Vergil would say, as the Once Distant island now became close after just a moment of travel, as they would soon dock...
Mallet Island Cliffside
Vergil promptly left the boat, his boots landing onto the grass as he looks up and around. "This place seems so Familiar...And yet, I have no recollection of it. No memory..." He said to himself under his breath, sighing as he looked up ahead. "...Come on. We've no time to lose.
Shadow, being one of the speedier members of the group brought here, was quick to get toward the edge of the ship, watching Vergil as he made his way off of it with a sense of purpose. Shadow squinted at the human, seeming to understand that sense of urgency he had. It only made sense, really. Shadow felt a bit of urgency himself. They couldn't let what Vergil proposed would happen come to be. Of course, the hedgehog hadn't totally taken it completely seriously until they actually saw the island.
The reason for that? Well, he himself had never been there. He wasn't sure how serious this threat really was, and even though he'd seen Vergil once or twice before, he wasn't quite sure whether he was trust worthy or not. Still, he couldn't help but investigate regardless, because if what he said was true and Shadow didn't come along... well, it would be disastrous, no doubt. Shadow's current purpose was the protect the residents of the Life Sphere, and he intended to do so.
That was why that island, if what Vergil said was true, needed to be destroyed.
As the group had approached the island, Shadow felt as though everything the human had said was true, bit by bit. Of course, he hadn't seen any sort of creature yet, but once they did make it to the island, Shadow felt an incredible sense of dread. There was a presence here... and it was sinister.
Shadow nodded at Vergil's warning, though made no verbal response. He exited the boat as well before turning to the other members on this mission to see if they were making their way out. Shadow then looked forward and squinted his eyes, his expression growing more tense by the second. Shadow's sense weren't as strong as they were when he had his powers, but the danger here was great. He wondered if anyone else could feel it, too.
Whatever was here really needed to be stopped. "...There's definitely something here..." Shadow stated flatly, his dread continuing to rise. Whatever was here, it was dangerous.

Axel, believe it or not, wasn't a big fan of boats. When the kind of travel you're used to instantly ripping holes in THE DAAAARKNESS to instantly get somewhere, sitting and waiting on a vessel is not the ideal form of transport. You couldn't even sneak a nap in because the ship usually rocked! What a nightmare, truly. Not at all a first-world problem. He understood the necessity and all, but it was times like this he thought that swearing off the portals of darkness was a real pain in the butt.
Axel's eyes, as he waited for the the ship that the party was on to dock, was graced with a lot of black and bleakness. Black sea, black sky, really dark and ominous island... and when faced with such overwhelming pressure, there was really only one reasonable thing to say:
"I didn't think the demons would have the same design sense as the Heartless." He believed it was profound. The Heartless also favored, big, black wastelands with black skies and black seas.
Axel's attempts to diffuse the intensity of the situation wasn't based in an inability to see the danger that was posed, though - in fact, as they got near, Axel had already summoned his Keyblade, hoisting it over his shoulder as he waited for some form of counterattack, if they got noticed. It seemed that they were fortunate enough to land onto the island without any trouble, though, and Axel would get off of the boat with the rest of the crew.
'There was definitely something here,' the Hedgehog had said, but Axel admittedly couldn't innately sense some evil energy or anything like that, but he trusted Shadow's take on the topic. "...Keep your eyes open, everyone. I'm sure you don't need a reminder, but we could get jumped from any direction." Axel commented, making sure to take a position on the left flank of the party and keep an eye on that general direction for enemies.
Bubble Shield: 45%/45% Status: "Got it memorized?"
Actions taken: 1. Joke to diffuse tension 2. Sigh and play it straight.
Amithree stood in her... unusual outfit on the side of the boat, just kind of watching the water for a long moment... She wasn't on a boat with the most social people, huh? She could like travel vast distances in an instant easily, sure... But for some reason she likes this more mundane approach to getting places... Besides the idea of accidently teleporting into this sea was not a pleasant one. She did not even know where the island was anyway... Or that it existed. It occurs to her that Vergil could be lying but it's not like she knew what he could have to gain from lying to some clueless girl...
The atmosphere was certainly foreboding too as if the tension you could cut without a space-time knife wasn't bad enough. "... Heh, depends on the demons. Guess these ones like it dark and dreary," Amithree replied, happy for Axel's attempt to lighten the mood a bit. She looked over to the island as it came to view, stepping forward for the ready. She gave a simple nod to Vergil before walking towards the front of the ship. She jumped down onto the shore as it became available, her fall slowed by her powers until she hit the ground. It was a bit odd none decided to stop their advance yet...
Amithree stayed to the left side of the group to keep an eye out at Axel's advice. "Right. We need to be ready for everything but also be quick..." Amithree nodded as she followed behind Vergil on her side.
Red Swordfighter Amithree HP: 170 Shield HP: 60 Status: On Guard
Yumiko watched as the vessel that her and everyone else in the group were on approached Mallet Island. She did want to ask Vergil about the stories that his father told him about the Island, but seeing the kind of mood he was in, it was best to only ask about it later. She looked down at the starvia infested water.
And nodded when Vergil told the group to be ready. "Right, for all we know these demons could be watching us and planning a surprise attack sometime after we get on the island." Yumiko prepared herself for the kinds of demons that her and everyone else will face on the Island.
But she took the time to giggle a little at Axel's attempt at lighting up the mood. "I kind of have the feeling that the demons we're probably going to face will be the terrifying looking ones." She wanted to add more about how they these kinds of demons could probably tear someone apart at an instant, but Yumiko stopped herself for fear of dampening the mood as they got onto the Island. Yumiko then proceeded to follow everyone off of the boat.
Yumiko nodded to Axel and Shadow's warning about keeping their eyes open for any demons in the area. "Right." And started to follow Vergil's direction further into the island as she looked around her for anything suspicious, but also intrigued by the Island at the same time.

As the Group made it up the Cliff side, they would walk upon a hard stone Level of land, that would turn into a bridge scaling up the rest of the Mountain, With various pillars and towers acting as the bridge's support beams. It was awfully quiet, just the splashing of waves against the cliffs of the island, as eventually there long walk would reach them off to a Leveled section of land, With an abysmal amount of Decayed Autumn Leaves littering the ground around the section. Vergil stopped after a moment, Taking grip of his Yamato...
And like that, Reality shattered like Glass, as Three, Large Reptilian Monsters burst forth and jumped for everyone, Swinging massive Claws, Attacking with wild Stealth, and the Final, Largest one, Curled into a Ball and tried to Buzz-saw Vergil!
((Axel! The Riot comes and tries to Slash you in your chest! DEX Check of 12 or take 14% Damage with a Mortal Wound chance of 50%!))
((Yumiko! The Fury comes to try and Stab you in the chest! DEX check of 12, or take 10% Damage with Guaranteed Mortal Wound!))
((Vergil! Chaos charges at you in a Large Wheel of Bladed Destruction! DEX Check of 14, or take 28% Damage!))
Vergil suddenly teleports behind the Chaos beast, Looking at the Massive Reptilians on the opposite side of the Field, before taking a hand and running it through his hair to slick it back. "Such Pitiful Creatures...Ill put you out of your Misery!"
Like that, Vergil charged for Chaos, To Deliver a Spinning Frontal Axe Kick to deliver Three Kicks before a massive Kick Downward, A Technique known as Lunar Shift!
...Well, The First Kick and the last kick missed, but he made the Second one, Before he takes hold of his Yamato to deliver Two Slashes in an X Shape!
...The Chaos dodged both slashes, And Smirked evily.
Yumiko kept looking around for anything that was suspicious until she approached the bridge towards the mountain. She then proceeded to look down towards the towers and pillars and wondered just how old they were. “Do you think this bridge will support us? Or anything else. In case something happens to us when we use it?” Yumiko knew now wasn’t the time to be asking Vergil questions given the situation. But if the bridge is old, then it might break and give the group problems when they might cross it and cause time in this mission to be wasted.
And then, Yumiko heard something near her.
“Huh!?” And realised that time was going to be wasted anyway thanks to the arrival of three demons. One of which even tried to make a stab at Yumiko!
3CzcoFkGp_1d20+2(And she critically dodged!)
Yumiko quickly ducked down when the Fury took a stab towards her, barely missing the attempt to stab her. After the near miss, Yumiko proceeded to fire back towards the Fury’s attempts at attacking her by attempting to uppercut it with a maziodyne followed by two more blasts of it when she had gotten far from the Demon.

p_1d20+5(Maziodyne > The Fury: Same effect as above.)

After performing her dodge and attacks, Yumiko waited to see the Fury’s next move. As well as looking at the other two demons that were being a hindrance to Vergil and Axel. 1d20+2·1d20+5·1d20+5·1d20+5·1d20+5

Axel got the feeling that the scenery would beautiful if it weren't for the black sky, black water, and all of that jazz. Even now, it was kind of pretty in a... morbid way, but he got the feeling that the impressive landscapes heavily carried his perception of all of this. A shame they were here to blow it all up, huh? What a waste.
As they made their way to a bridge, and at Yumiko's pretty justified concern, Axel'd make a point of testing it with his weight. He wasn't the bulkiest guy, but if they kept going after this, I'd imagine that it probably held. "If worst comes to worst and it seems too unstable, we could take it one at a time, but I think that we'll be alright." He did his best to sound reassuring! He was no bridge expert, but he attempted to state some horse pucky with enough confidence that the others with concerns could believe it.
Nonetheless, afternthe conundrum of the bridge, the party was soon to continue their advrnture, leading away from the bridge and further onto the island. Apparently, Vergil's instincts detected something that Axel didn't - a threat. Axel's Keyblade was up in a moment, as he'd defend himself from this THING with giant claws.
(Yeah we Bubble Shield those, 14% Shield damage.)
In spite of the party having just been jumped, Axel was getting hype - and fire would begin to surround his hands. "Now, you little punks are stuck in here with me! Burn, baby!" Axel's Fire magic would seep into the ground, surrounding their battlefield in a wall of fire, and turning the very earth beneath the battlefield into something resembling molten rock as Axel made this battlefield his own.
(Scorched Earth: Grants Axel WIS +2 and DEX +2, and increases the potency of Flames on all attacks by 2%. Lasts for three turns, and has a five turn cooldown.)
Nonetheless, Axel's immediate priority was to get this thing stuck. They had other opponents present, and the less they had to deal with at once, the better. Even less imposing threats became problematic if they came in high enough numbers.
So, Axel would throw his chakrams at the Riot, but before they could make contact, their direction would shift, aiming towards the ground and carving out a circle around the Riot, before more fire would spring up to bind it in place!
(Blaze Bind on Riot: WIS vs WIS ranged grapple, applies 5% Burning every turn an opponent is trapped. 3 turn cooldown on failure or when the grapple breaks.) JeiKOsimp_1d20+6
That one felt... pretty good, so Axel changed it and hoped that would be good enough to hold it in place for a moment. Resummoning his chakrams to his hand, Axel would the turn his attention to his allies. Where could he be the biggest help...? Sizing them up a bit, the Chaos looked like the biggest threat - that little Sonic the Hedgehog maneuver looked like it would hurt - so Axel made him a priority, keeping one Chakram on hand to protect himself from danger, but tossing the other one, it arcing on its way through the air and catching ablaze to target the Chaos!
(Weapon Toss on Chaos: Axel cloaks his Chakrams or Keyblade in flames and puts a twirl on them as he throws them at a target to rip into them. 15%, 5% Burning.) p_1d20+6(So close!)
With his actions done, Axel'd recall his thrown chakram to his hand and wait for a counterattack.
(I applied the burning buff in the attack's description for ease of use.)
Bubble Shield: 31%/45% Status: "It bad I missed saying that?"
Shadow's ears rose about a second or two after Vergil announced their arrival and the moment he made that motion was when the ambush began. The hedgehog instantly leaped back as the monsters started attacking their targets, though lucky for him he wasn't one of them. The hedgehog decided it'd be best to make a target of his own, and his red eyes landed right on the monster that attacked Yumiko. Less for the fact that he attacked at all, and more for the fact that no one else seemed to be messing with him outside of possibly Yumiko.
"Oh, quick for the sneak attack, are we? Time to take you down!"
The hedgehog rolled into a ball and rolled right at Fury, intending to cause him some damage. The hedgehog repeated this action by turning toward Fury two other times before ultimately unrolling to stare down the monster. Shadow would ensure he wouldn't be overlooked next time (though he wasn't really doing that great of a job making a point...)
Qq2SC5TCp_1d20+3 (Shadow used his Spin Dash attack at the Fury! Causes 7% of damage if successful!) p_1d20+3 (Again!) p_1d20+3 (Again!)
Shadow then leaped into the air before rolling into another ball and launched himself at Fury again at full force. Again, not a particularly impressive attempt, but the hedgehog wasn't quite done yet.
p_1d20+3 (Shadow used homing attack at the Fury! Causes 12% of damage if successful, raises the next attack modifier by +1 regardless.)
The hedgehog took a long sword out of its sheath before running at the monster at full speed, leaping into the air, and slashing at Fury at full force. By far his most poignant attempt of the bunch, though he quickly realized he wasn't quite as capable with the blade as he was with the shock wave that came off of it from a distance. That was a bit of info he'd keep in mind for later.
p_1d20+1 (Shadow used the Samurai sword to directly slash at the Fury! Should this attack succeed, it'll cause 22% of damage!)
Shadow sheathed his sword again before glaring right into Fury's face and smirked at him. He didn't have much else to say to the monster, only waited for how the creature would retaliate, if at all. Shadow was eager to put these monsters in their place and prove that Li was not to be messed with.

Amithree looked down at their land as she followed along. She did not really take in the landscape that much... honestly reminded her too much of her world as it was when she left... "... You're with a Time-Space Goddess, remember? I can always reverse time or warp space to teleport us back up... probably..." She said with... less than confidence in her own abilities before pausing with Vergil. She could feel the presence of the demons right before they appeared readying herself.
... Alright, now was her time to show she can help. She closed her eyes and focused a moment as her size began steadily increasing until she was a rather large woman. Taller than the others by a fair bit but... not big enough for her to want to risk structural integrity. Regardless her might was increased and she went to demonstrate this with an attempt at a blindside kick to the Chaos that Vergil was fighting.
(Celestial Giant activated, Amithree is under Mega Status for 3 turns)
50wYEqatp_1d20+5(Fairy Blade of Time light on Chaos, 12% damage)
She would follow up the kick with a punch attack to send the Chaos reeling before ending her assault on it with a slash attack.

p_1d20+5(Fairy Blade of Time Light 3 on Chaos, 12% damage)
"Rainbow Crescendo!" Amithree declared after gathering rainbow magic into her blade before unleashing a spin attack, the rainbow energy attempting to cut the demon asunder.

The Fury Cackled at the sight of, what it assumed to just be a Little Girl in its Presence, Before being quite suddenly confronted with reality, as Yumiko's Three Lightning strikes caused the Monster to be bashed against the floor with each smash of thunder sending it skidding back, as it trilled out a squaking cry of anger, As the ground suddenly turned to Molten Fire due to Axl!
The Riot, Being so Unmagic in nature, was Easily entrapped in Axl's fire based binding, Screeching as it tried to physically get through, Only to be burned and incinerated with each attempt, leaving it quite stuck to Axl's will! As Axl's Chakram flew and left a massive Gash in the Chaos, Shadow would strike One of his Spin Dashes into the Fury, Only to Miss the other two.
However, This was still opporune for Shadow to be able to land his Homing Attack and Samurai sword, Gashing a massive spray of Black Blood with that final slash!
As for Amithree, She was able to land a perfectly timed combo with her many strikes, leaving the Chaos stunned and in a Daze with all those major blows she threw on him! Vergil, Seeing the Opprotunity, Seeked to quickly follow up with some Attacks of his own, Opening up with a Beowulf Combo on the Monster's already opened wounds, and then, Two Judgement Cuts!
Despite how Desperate and Sloppy the fighting looked, vergil actually managed to get off the full combo, Leaving the beast not yet dead, But quite brutalized, as the Chaos would suddenly Furl into a Massive Bladed ball once more, and fly towards the one making his life so difficult-- flying past Vergil, and instead, trying to cut apart Amithree!
((Amithree! Dodge Check of 14, Or else, Take 22% Damage from the Demon Buzzsaw from Chaos!))
Following that, the Riot screeches in struggling to escape its bindings. However, Taking brief notice of a Loose brick, It quickly rips through, And Slaps the Brick directly at Axel in some form of attack!
((Axel! Dodge check of 12, or else, 22% Blunt Brick Damage.))
Lastly, The Fury would suddenly seem to phase into invisibility, Before sneaking and stalking through the field, Until emerging behind Shadow, and attempting a deep plunge of his red claw!
((Shadow! The Fury comes to try and Stab you in the chest! DEX check of 12, or take 10% Damage with Guaranteed Mortal Wound!))

Amitie due to not being practiced in dodging at her size winced and stepped back from the slicing. Fortunately her larger size protected her from some of the damage and having an immortal body had it's perks. "Is that all you have? I have been cut worst than that before!" Amithree proceeded to try and put her least intimidated facade on. She glanced over to the Fury which seemed in better health for her next trick. "Hope you don't mind me butting in for a moment!" she declared as she let loose a life draining slash towards the monster to drain some of it's life and regain her own to nearly fully heal her wounds if successful.

"Phew, I think I'm getting used to this size..." Amithree sighed... she doubted she could keep her size this large much longer but the battle seemed to be going smooth enough that that wasn't a problem.
"Yeah, I guess so, I guess I just don't trust rickety bridges that much after hearing about so many things happening on them. It's especially worse given the kind of island we're on." Yumiko would nod to Axel.
Yumiko grinned when she saw that her attacks had managed to hit the Fury, but was worried when the Chaos managed to land a hit on Amithree. Fortunately she was okay, and even helped her and Shadow attack the Fury before going back to focus on the Chaos, likely to finally end it. "Thanks for the help." Yumiko would quickly say before noticing that the Fury was no longer there, quickly looking around...
She quickly saw something appear behind Shadow and try to stab him with his claw, it was likely the Fury. "Lookout!" Yumiko warned before firing her next three attacks towards the Fury, hoping that their effort will quickly take it down next after the Chaos likely.

So far, so good. Seems that everyone's keeping themselves in pretty good health, and they were swiftly dispatching their enemies, and Axel was still feeling nice and fired up, so that - that's a fucking brick, huh?
Man, was that ever a brick, but Axel just barely succeeds at weaving to the side of it, giving the Riot an annoyed stare. Rude. "Seriously? Not even worth a real attack, you're just gonna toss a brick at me?" There's a certain amount of irony that comes with an assassin complaining about honorable battle strategies and stuff, but he squashes that thought and does his damndest to keep this thing still. If he could, it'd add up to much more damage over time.
Once again, he feels pretty good about that one, so he takes a moment to survey the battlefield. It seems everyone's got a specific opponent pinned down by now, so Axel focuses on the opponent he's got bound. Really, it'd be slightly more efficient if he could keep this pinned down and focus on other opponents, but in the fury of battle, with disappearing opponents and opponents getting horribly smacked around in waves of fire, lightning, wind and guns, it was difficult to tell what would still be left standing. Best to just contribute where he knew he'd be able. So, he regards the Riot with a grin. "Guess it's just you and me, big guy."
His Chakrams reform into a Keyblade, and Axel proceeds to just do what he does best, doing a series of quick and wild slashes at the bound Riot.
(Keyblade Strike: 7% WIS, 3% Flames, Combo)
p_1d20+6 p_1d20+6 p_1d20+6
...And once his series of strikes is done, Axel jumps back, covering his retreat with by tossing his Keyblade at the Riot, which would being to spin and cut the Riot in place.
