SSB: LIFE ITSELF 2011-2021
It was dark and raining tonight at the Life Sphere and there was barely anyone that was out in Brightwing Lane tonight. Except for the people that were coming back from Busy Bee Lobby due to the midnight release of a new game.
NASU 3D, the newest entry in the underrated NASU franchise and as the title suggested, is the first game in the franchise to make the jump to 3D. It had a midnight release tonight and although there will be copy's in the future, they will only be available until March 31st next year where upon the company that had made the game will create a live stream of them throwing every unsold physical copy in existence into a burning trash dump before getting rid of the digital version shortly after, so no one will be able to buy it online anymore either.
A limo was driving through the empty streets of Brightwing Lane, until it stopped in a tall manor that almost looked like a mansion. Unknown to the people in the Limo, someone was following them.
Madotsuki, who was riding her bike, was following the limo until it stopped by the manor, where upon Madotsuki quickly made a turn and hid in a nearby alleyway, so the woman in the limo, who quickly came out of it doesn't see her.
"Yes, I'm sure if I take this up to my room, he will come and we will be reunited." She said to herself as she hugged the item before the gate to the manor opened, where she quickly entered before entering the manor itself.
The limo quickly drove away to parts unknown. Which was good, since that would be one less problem for Madotsuki and her team to deal with...
And since she wasn't caught yet by the Woman, all that Madotsuki has to do right now is to wait for her other teammates to arrive before they can get through the first obstacle in this break in.
Getting through the front gates.

A break-in, huh? This really took Axel back - back when he'd worked for the Organization, there was always all of this about how they were running a 'covert operation' and how he 'needed to avoid being seen'. Every day for years had been a stealth mission, really - and if he did somehow get caught, Castle Oblivion gave Axel experience with thinking on his feet. Hopefully, he'd be able to rely on that if it came down to it - although it probably shouldn't, if the group was careful.
When Axel rolled in, he was even dressed for the job, with a jet-black trench coat that could conceal the majority of his features if he pulled the hood up. Far be it from him to be the one to jeopardize the mission. Electricity in the Life Sphere was pretty important, after all.
...Assuming that's what it was really all about, but Axel could make those own kinds of assessments later. Not that he tried to be distrusting, but the approach of 'let's sneak in and steal it back' instead of taking any, er, legal channels had Axel raising his eyebrow. He was sure there was a reason, but he'd feel out whether they were just robbing some hapless woman as they went.
When Axel got the designated area, though, he wasn't fully expecting to see some kid. She looked to be about Roxas and Xion's age, even - although those two were competent combatants in their own right, so appearances could be deceiving. And on that note, no need to be rude! Axel decided to introduce himself, keeping his voice a bit low for introductions. No need to blow their cover, after all.
"Yo. The name's Axel," ...And he'd begin tapping at the side of his head, in his usual manner. "Got it memorized? What item are we after?" Can't complete a theft-based mission without knowing what you're stealing, right?
Bubble Shield: 45%/45% Status: "Gonna have to keep the heat to a minimum for stealth. A real shame."
Actions taken: 1. Overthinking. 2. Introductions, to be polite.
Vanitas did not care much for stealth in his skill set, not that he couldn't do it of course but this was more of the matter that he was more of a frontal attacker than anything else. Waiting on the sidelines was painful to say the least since he just wanted to bust in and do whatever it took to steal anything and everything he wanted to. But he was also taught patience by his master, something of which he normally lacked in its severity.
Waiting for the vehicle to leave he would appear from out of the bushes nearby, completely cloaked in his organization outfit and his mask. This made him look intimidating but it would also not disclose his identity to anyone who managed to catch him, not like it would happen mind you. He did not intend to get caught but if that were to happen he would make sure it was painful for those that discovered where he was.
Sneaking by as he saw the small girl nearby and the red-haired traitor to the organization known as Axel was there too. "Oh it's you." Vanitas said simply as he acknowledged that Axel was here. He didn't care about the guy much but his skills of deception and his work in the organization may come in handy.
"I'm Vanitas." he said to the girl before looking around for their third team member. Quickly and quietly Vanitas spoke but made sure that no one other than his teammates were able to hear him. "What are we going to steal? Let this be somewhat fun for me little girl." Vanitas chuckled a bit as he then looked over to Axel. If he wasn't wearing his mask Axel would immediately be able to tell that Vanitas was glaring at him. Vanitas:

(Contrary popular belief, a coin has three sides.) the voice in Dawn's head remarked as the rather small girl arrived to a somewhat unscrupulous looking party. She felt kind of out of place really. “...Hey! Aaaam I in the right place for the mission?” Dawn asked, very slightly nervous. A part of her suspected she was the type of person to get jumped in places like this. Her gaze slowly shifted to Vanitas, giving him a good look-over. “...What's with the gothic space suit? Can you see out of that thing?” she asked rather inquisitively.
Madotsuki continued to wait for the team to arrive. Upon seeing the arrival of Axel, she was weary of him at first, but he then turned out to be here for the mission, and that he wanted Madotsuki to memorise his name.
"Yeah, I'll likely won't do that." She said so bluntly, before moving onto the question as to what exactly the item was. A similar question arose when Vantias had arrived for the mission as well.
"It's something that can help the Life Sphere, like I said on the board. Looks like SOMEONE needs to memories important information." Madotsuki could tell that Vantias and Axel might get suspicious throughout the mission.
But they were the kind of people that can pull off this break in well, along with the next arrival. Although Madotsuki didn't know who Dawn was, she did hear that she was a pokemon trainer, so that was good enough for this mission.
"We're breaking into a house, while trying not to get caught. This will be fun, but not for me." She looked towards the manor. She wanted to pull this break In off quickly, and get what she had needed in this castle like manor.
And now that everyone was here, they can begin the break In.
"Yes." Madotsuki then walked past Dawn and towards the Manor, before looking at the first obstacle that the group would have to face.
Which was simply the manor gate. The only real problem being what was on top of the gate, it was one of those gates that had sharp dagger shapes on the top to make them look fancy.
Madotsuki looked up towards it after looking around to see if the Woman had any security cameras so they wouldn't witness the group go over the gate...
There was no cameras, which will make getting into the Manor more easier for everyone.
(Your first obstacle. In order to climb over this gate without getting hurt, you must roll a 12 in strength, if you fail this roll then you will get 5% damage thanks to the top of the gate cutting you. However you may able to get through the gate using a move that you have to get over it easily without making a roll or simply ram the gate down, or via another way if you look around. There appears to be a little gap at the gate itself.)
A9_PejOpp_1d20+4(And Madotsuki successfully climbed over the gate!)
Madotsuki simply didn't care about the risk. She grabbed onto the gate and quickly climbed until she reached the top, where, when she was faced with the sharp part of the gate, she simply jumped over it before landing on the grass at the other side of the gate and in front of the manor.
She also stepped on some flowers in the process when she landed, although because of the darkness she wasn't able to make out what the flowers were, instead she turned towards everyone else on the team, waiting for them to climb over the gate in their own way.
"Your turn." She proceeded to wait, as she hoped that everyone will be quick with getting over the gate. 1d20+4

Axel gave a little chuckle at Madotsuki's commentary. Oh, this was gonna be fun. "You'd inspire more confidence if you just said what it was, y'know. Dodging the question's a little eyebrow-raising. But I'm sure it'll be fine if you went through the effort to set all of this up." A lie. He had bumped up 'mind what we steal' a little higher on his priority list. He was all for stealing for the good of the Life Sphere, but if it was some personal vendetta... well, then it could go either way. If ol' Mads here had been wronged, he was opposed to righting it.
...And, of course, he had to stifle laughter at Dawn's commentary about the astrogoth by leaning and coughing into his shoulder. "Oh, you're in the right place, alright. And don't rail him too hard about the mask. I'd wear one if I looked like that, too."
Nonetheless, now it was time to begin the mission in earnest. He gave another bemused grin at Madotsuki's parkour. "Look at you, the little acrobat!" He gave a fake, soundless clap, before deciding he'd try and handle this in his own way that didn't involve... all of that. Insteard, he'd march forwards, placing his hands on the bars of either sides of the gap. From between his fingertips, those nearby would be able to see fire ignite and press up against the bars - not that much, mind, too much light would be suspicious.
And finally, after heating the bar pretty thoroughly for a few seconds, he would give a grunt of exertion and stretch the metal bars outwards, widening the gap to the point that he'd be able to fit through with minimal shimmy-ing through the gate. "And I'll reheat and close it back up again once we leave. Like we were never here." He added the stipulation - just leaving it there would be a big indicator someone had broken in, after all! Besides the object in question missing, of course.
With the girl not answering his question Vanitas just grimaced and was tempted to just threaten the girl for information but at this point he didn't care what they were stealing so long as he got to do what he wanted to do. "Whatever let's just get in there and steal the thing." Vanitas said annoyed before looking over in the direction of the new arrival. A girl in a very brightly colored outfit and seemingly unarmed. "Did you get lost on your way to the circus or is that what you normally wear for stealth missions?" Vanitas said insulting Dawn. He wasn't too amused at what she said to him about his mask that was for sure. Axel didn't help either when he told him what he looked like was basically ugly.
Vanitas said nothing in response and just waited for Axel to bend the bars with his fire before promptly going in after he did. Vanitas was not going to thank Axel for doing that for him but he would nod his head as if acknowledging that he did help him out, good enough right? Vanitas was now on the other side of the gate and waited for the girl with the bright outfit to get through with them. "Gate is cleared, what next?" Vanitas would ask ever so quietly. Patience was clearly not his strong suit. Vanitas:
1. Insulted Dawn's outfit.
2. Went in after Axel when he bent the bars for them.

“--Hey!” Dawn sorely replied and scowled at Vanitas at that comment. She put a lot of work into her appearance! Axel's comment does give her a little pause. ...Actually yeah, that does make a bit of sense. Was she making fun of like, Freddy Krueger or something? Maybe she shouldn't be doing that.
Dawn reluctantly passes Vanitas' fashion choices from her mind and... observes as Axel heats and bends the gate to create an entrance. ... Man, that was lowkey intimidating. She definitely wouldn't have thought she'd see anyone do that, at least not without being some hulk of a man anyway. But far be it from her not to oblige the easy entrance. She was pretty worried she'd get caught and hung from the fence if she tried to clime it. Athletics weren't her strongsuit. And luckily, she was tiny and thin! So if anyone could slip through relatively easily, it'd be her. She carefully steps through and quickly brushes herself off.
While the group were going through the gap that Axel had created, Madotsuki took the time to look at the gate properly. Curiosity sat in while she wait as she walked over to the gate, and pushed it open.
"Huh, it was unlocked the entire time." She turned and walked towards the front door of the manor.
"It's pretty obvious what we have to do next." She said back to Vanitas, referring to the front door, which unlike the gate was locked when Madotsuki tried to open it.
While the group headed towards the door. If they stopped and looked at the flowers that were planted by the manor as well as a few bushes that were near them they would see that they weren't regular flowers.
They were red and purple. The red flowers were shaped circle with yellow rods sticking out while the purple ones were shaped as triangles and didn't have rods. If one knew their flowers they would see that the red ones were the rare south bloomers, originally found the floating islands known as South Islands.
While the purple flowers were known as the sole bright's. They were equally rare and could be found in a kingdom known as Soleanna. The two flowers never grow outside of those two places, so they must of been imported by people from those two places.
Although Madotsuki didn't care about the flowers, she just cared about the item that was in the Woman who owned this manor's hands.
She had to get it back before she uses it.
But first, she would have to get the door open. Maybe if she can melt the door handle, she can open the door that way.
(In order to get the door to open, you can lockpick it. However in order to successfully lock pick the door, you must perform a 15 in DEX or higher. Of course, you can open the door some other way using the moves that you have like with the gate, however the roll requirement to succeed must still be 15 or higher. Additionally, you can look around the area for another way to get into the manor.)
"Stand back." Madotsuki only warned once to the group, before her head suddenly transformed.
Into that of hand with an eye on it. The eye glowed and proceeded to shoot a beam towards the door handle in order to melt it.
x6spFlxLp_1d20+5(Eye Palm Effect > Door Handle: A successful roll.)
Madotsuki's first shot in melting the door handle was a successful and upon the handle melting off from the door. It slowly began to open to allow the group to enter the Manor, upon the door opening. Madotsuki's head returned to normal. "We're in." Madotsuki said before walking into the manor. The rain no longer making her wet once she went inside, although her hair was still down thanks to it.
The foyer looked rich and lively like in any other manor, with a path that would lead into the kitchen. It was dark due to the lights being on, but there was portraits on the wall of numerous historical looking people. Their eyes were glowing, mainly because they were replaced with jewellery of all sorts.
There was five paintings in general, with the eye jewellery having different pairs of gems, like garnet's, amethyst's, pearls, lapis lazuli's...
And finally rose quartzes. (RIP)
There was stairs leading to another floor of the manor, which Madotsuki quickly took when she realised that there was also no security cameras in the Foyer. When Madotsuki got to the top, she saw three doors down a hallway.
Two of which were unlocked and one of them contained an egg symbol, while the third door was barricaded, as if the Woman that owns this manor doesn't want anyone getting in.
Maybe that door with the egg symbol might have some hefty loot.
(If you wish to break open the barricaded door, then you must roll a 18 in strength to rip down the boards that barricaded the door or by using another move that you have, however you still must roll a 18 or higher in order to break it down.) 1d20+5

Axel couldn't see under Vanitas's mask, so he couldn't tell for sure, but his intuition told him he'd gotten under the boy's skin, which, uh, good. All according to cake. "Oh, lighten up. You know I'm just making fun of you." Axel's way of confirming to everyone else nearby that Vanitas wasn't actually butt-ugly and Axel was just a troll. "And, 'Spikes'? C'mon, I at least wanted a more glamorous one than that."
Once the party's gotten through, Axel reheats the bars and closes them behind the party in case someone were to patrol the area near them. Best not to get the alarm tripped by someone outside catching it by chance. It would take way less time than before since the bars were already decently hot, though.
And then Madotsuki opened the gate. "...Laxer security than I expected. Either that, or we're both idiots." Axel gave his appraisal of the situation, and then threw his hood up over head, effectively hiding any and all features about him outside of him being 'a big-ass guy in a black trenchcoat.' He glanced at the others - notably Dawn - and tried to figure out how he'd conceal their identities if they got caught, but he wasn't coming up with anything. It might come down to him putting all of the attention on himself and then ditching the coat for a few days.
That was a worst-case scenario, though. With any luck, it wouldn't come down to that.
He took his position (that he decided was his, now) behind Madotsuki as the party made their way across the yard, and, as was commanded, took a few steps back to allow Madotsuki to do, uh... yeah, she was sure doing that. He'd lean over to whisper to his fellow masked and skirted thieves. "That's weeeird. But it's a handy move."
Nonetheless, at this point, the party was inside, the rain from outdoors dripping off of Axel's trenchcoat and all over the floor. If the floor wasn't carpet, he'd activate a little fire, just hot enough that some of the water would go up into steam to dry himself off. It was more of a convenience thing than hiding their presence - Madotsuki had just completely melted the doorknob, after all. Their presence was going to be known eventually regardless, now. They just have to hope it was after the fact.
Fortunately, Axel confirmed after glancing around a bit, it seemed that security cameras weren't a thing that the party had to deal with yet. Was the Life Sphere really so lacking in crime that such a thing was deemed unnecessary? Or was this person only putting them up around her valuables? It was hard to say, as of yet, but Axel was keeping an eye out as he followed Madotsuki upstairs.
Axel glanced around, taking in his options as far as the doors go, before he gave his input, making sure to keep his voice low. "Barricaded door last. We don't know if anyone's nearby to hear cutting them down or tearing them off, and that's got the potential to just get really noisy." Thievery was, at its core, stealth, and it was important to understand the layout of the area and obstacles before they started trying to do anything risky. They could manage anything else inside the house first.
Bubble Shield: 45%/45% Status: "I played Payday 2, I'm basically a pro!"
Nice Steven Universe reference, nerd.
Actions taken: 1. Played the Mission Impossible theme in his head.
Vanitas did not like this one bit. Sure he was on a stealth mission which was in its core something he could do but not his preferred method of doing missions. He was one to use brute force and mental torture to sway the tide of battle. Thing was this was not going to be an option especially now that the strange girl transformed her head into a hand and zapped the lock of the door as they opened it up for the group. "Idiot. You should have left that part to me. I have an ability that can lock and unlock any lock, whether it be a door or otherwise." Which was true really but he didn't know Axel could do that as well. Though she would have had no idea either until he spoke up so that's fair. This girl seemed just as impatient as he was so he couldn't exactly blame her for this idiotic mistake, not entirely at least.
Coming upon the upstairs they had run into the next obstacle ahead of them, a barricade. What to do? Well he could always just break it down but that would definitely alert someone that they were here.
"Whatever someone else can break it down if they want. I'll be right here." Vanitas said as he just lie there in wait.
1. Insulted Madotsuki for the way she opened the first door.
2. Waits for someone else to break the door down. 1d207pxFetzA

...Dawn did a double take as Madotsuki's head turned into a hand and ... melted the door knob. Her chest tightened with anxiety at the sight and stared with anticipation until Madotsuki turned back to normal, just kind of debating what it was she'd just seen. Y'know, she wasn't sure she was human after seeing that. It was just a hint, but she had this sneaking suspicion that Madotsuki was in fact a monster.
...She wondered what her pokedex entry would say!
However, she refrained from trying to scan her. Mostly because she didn't think anyone would appreciate her pokedex babbling on right now. Dawn shook her head to clear her thoughts, filing that into her things to expect folder for later and quickly moved to rejoin the group. Once they were inside, she shivered and discreetly brushed her arms off a bit by folding them and then releasing them in such a manner that her hands took turning gliding down the opposite arm. She quickly found herself moving to catch up again though, after which they were faced with a series of choices. Dawn listened for a bit and
“...Well, when you think about it, a barricaded door means the owner can't get in easily either. That makes me doubt they'd put anything they really wanted in that room. Axel's probably right. Let's try the other doors first.”
Dawn thought about it for a bit more though, and continued as another thought struck her. “It is really weird though. Why would someone with the influence to get people to build a mansion like this board up a door instead of just getting some really fancy locks?” she mused aloud. Surely there had to be a nicer solution. And yet, they chose the one that prevented themselves from proper access. “...It's like they never wanted this door to be opened again for some reason. Almost like... some awful secret was kept inside.” Dawn speculated. A horrible thought crossed her mind. It called back to a news story she'd heard about where someone had locked one of their children in their own room to keep them prisoner. She swallowed nervously at the thought of what might await behind the barricaded door and began heading to the door with the egg on it.
Dawn decided to ask a favor of the voice in her head. (“I'm worried about that door. Do you think you can go in there and check out what's on the other side?”) (“Alone? Without you..?”) (“...Yeah. Just for a moment. I know you can't bring me with you because there are people around, but I just want to know if there's something that really needs our attention on the other side. Like someone in need of a rescue... Is that fair?”) (“...Fair as the evening side of Mount Coronet. You're starting to think with discretion in mind. That's a step forward.”)
Without further ado, Dawn's shadow--which was likely soft and borderline invisible since they were inside and not under a sun to create a sharp one--crept away from her and under the barricaded door to check out inside. This left Dawn unable to cast a shadow while hers was gone, but indoors it probably wouldn't be an issue, right? She doubted anyone would even notice the small discrepancy.
Dawn proceeds to the door with an egg on it, standing on the balls of her feet as she walked to make less noise and cautiously moving to peak inside, as it was apparently unlocked.
While she was walking upstairs, Madotsuki stared down at Axel and Vanitas for what they said just now. Axel, for that pun that he just said and Vanitas for calling her an idiot for opening that door. "Nobody will know that we have entered if we preform this mission correctly. But I'm willing to damage anything that's in my way to get what I want." The grip on the bannister tightened.
As she was ticked off over Vanita's comment. She stared more at Vanitas then she did with Axel, meaning that she wasn't angry with him anymore. "If you want to look for another way into this Mansion, then be my guest. But I'm not wasting another minute going through the extra mile in trying to get to where we are now. Since we have managed to make it this far, we can likely get to the woman sooner and get the item that we need." Madotsuki looked around again for any security cameras, which their wasn't.
"And seeing as how this has no security means we haven't got caught yet, otherwise, someone as rich like the Woman that we are looking for would of done something about us just now." Madotsuki stopped when she got to the top of the stairs.
And properly turned towards Vanitas.
"If you wish to hinder the mission, then call me an idiot again." Her stare increased towards Vanitas.
Her threat to Vanitas soon ended once the group had gotten to the three doors and Axel and Dawn made comments about what they wanted to do. It seems as though Dawn wanted to check out the egg symbol room, which is where everyone is likely going to go if the barricaded door isn't open soon.
Madotsuki walked towards the barricaded door. "She probably murdered someone if she's rich. They always have a criminal secret like that they don't want anyone to find out. I don't know why, as she can just bribe anyone to make sure, the crime didn't exist." Seeing as how the Woman was willing to take this important item... Madotsuki believed that she can be a murderer too.
Or maybe a kidnapper, she didn't know, nor cared, she just wanted the item back, so, she was going to try and break open the barricade.
As if her effects couldn't be more weirder, Madotsuki started to glow a neon like colour, before shooting a beam towards the barricade, hoping to shoot them all off and see if she can open the door.
EA9DqMxnp_1d20+5(Just barely missed the roll.)
Madotsuki looked as though she was about to bring down the barricade, only to give up, seeing as how nothing happened, and decided to go with Dawn's suggestion to check out the door with the egg symbol instead. Who knows, maybe they can return to it after checking out the egg room.
Well almost everyone decided to give up on the barricade for now. Dawn's Shadow decided to check out what was behind the door, where they were able to get an interesting peak at what was behind it.
There was a stairway that led to a fancy looking door. However, there was a person that was in front of it.
It was the women, she was still wearing the cloak, so it would be hard for Dawn's Shadow to find out just who she was, but she was breathing heavily and looking down at a square shaped item which was likely the same one Madotsuki kept mentioning and the item that the group was after.
She continued to breath heavily, not noticing Dawn's shadow, until she spoke.
"I'm almost there, and then, when I boot this up, we can see each other again Sonic, after so long!" She rubbed the item to her face and laughed.
"And when this happens and you finally arrive, you'll hopefully won't find out about my super dark secret that could send me to prison if anyone found out." Nobody needs to find out what she had done was her thoughts. She quickly opened the fancy looking door and went in it without another word.
Meanwhile, Madotsuki opened the door to the egg room, and saw that it was like something that could be found in a museum. At the canter was four display cases, three of which had small egg shaped items in them.
That's because they were eggs, Fabergé eggs in fact, all in different colour. One blue, one yellow and one pink, those look like worthy items to steal, but Madotsuki looked frustrated at the fact that there was no doors in this room, which means the group would have to try and open the barricade again or go through the other door that was unlocked...
Unless, they get the Fabergé eggs, they looked pricey and again, there was no security cameras in this room either.
Just lasers that were everywhere on the floor. Madotsuki looked away, annoyed that there was only three of the eggs. When is it when there's always a group of items it's always in groups of three, why can it be four instead?
Well, if Madotsuki looked at the room some more, she would see that in the fourth display case, there was another Fabergé egg. This one was coloured red.
"There's nothing interesting here. I'm going to try and see if I can get the barricade to open again." She turned from the group and walked back to the barricade. They can decide what they want to do in the Fabergé egg room.
At the same time, a fly flew past Madotsuki and into the Fabergé egg room and flew down towards the lasers.
Once it went through one of them, all that was left was it's wings which fell onto the floor, having disintegrated once it went through one of the lasers. It appeared that these lasers won't set off a security alarm or anything like that.
But it appears it will burn the group should they step on it.
(To cross the laser floor and make it to the Fabergé eggs, you must roll a 10 dice roll to cross over, you can use whatever you can to cross the floor be it your moves or your items. However failure will result in stepping on the lasers accidentally and causing you to gain 15% of damage and gain the burn status...
And if you do make it to where the eggs are, you still have to break open the display case.
You must make a 15 dice roll in order to break open the display cases, each for one of the display cases, again you may use a move or item in order to break open the cases and get the eggs.
And then you must roll another 10 dice roll to get back to the room's entrance, failure in this will again result in you standing on one of the lasers and getting burned.)
While the group were deciding on what to do, Madotsuki tried two more times to open the barricaded door...
p_1d20+5(Wow, second times the charm.)
When she shot the door a second time with her neon beam, it caused the door itself to quickly evaporate in flames due to the damage that she had done the first time. "I got it open." She turned back towards the group, before looking at what was inside the room, the aforementioned stairs leading up to the fancy looking door.
Madotsuki didn't seem to also notice Dawn's Shadow yet either if they were still in the room by the time Madotsuki burned open the barricade. 1d20+5·1d20+5

Dawn nervously watched Madatsuki confront Vanitas. Oh geez... She made a mental note not to mess with that girl. She was pretty sure they'd kick her butt, and frankly she was too small and wimpy to judge anyone by appearance. So she kind of assumed she'd succeed at it too, especially when she was that aggressive. “Oh yeah, I guess that's kinda weird isn't it... I hear the Life Sphere government doesn't even use money, but I'm not sure how true that is.” Dawn replied.
Her nearly invisible shadow returned to her after a bit, and with it the voice in her head. It promptly filled her in with a rundown of what she'd missed and Dawn felt her chest tighten with anxiety. A person? Well that's not good. She'd been hoping they'd be alone and could just take what they needed without trouble. She... wasn't prepared to get into a potentially lethal confrontation! She made a mental note to make up an excuse to go back to that door. But later. They were supposed to grab these eggs right?

Dawn doesn't even notice the fly and just strolls on into the lasers the first time, a low hiss of pain escaping her as they burned her. She recoiled backward and hopped a bit, delicately caressing the arm that had caught the burn. Aw geez. She...--
p_1d20+1 (Critical Awareness!)
...Hold on. She could see the lasers now that she was paying attention. There was a distortion in the air. Dawn cautiously moves back forward and carefully steps over and ducks the lasers, getting past them with surprising ease! It helped her form was small, probably. She then marched on over to one of the eggs in their glass cases and inspected it for a moment before giving it a knock with one of her firsts!
p_1d20-4 (Critical Break-In Strike!)
To Dawn's alarm and surprise, she actually found a critical weakness in the structure of the case and her light knock was enough to stress and crack it, the case shattering into pieces. “--Oh, okay...” she murmured. She then promptly moved to another case and decided she'd go ahead and try that again!
p_1d20-4 (Critfail Break-In Knock)
...This time she was left standing there feeling kind of dumb as she knocked on the case, nothing at all happening. It had been mere luck, not skill, that had allowed her to do that to the first one.

...Oh, this shtick of Vanitas insulting everyone was getting pretty old, pretty quick, especially when others were so quick to respond in kind. "Am I gonna have to put you two in time out? Can we focus?" The assessment in Axel's mind was that the party was very lucky there wasn't tighter security, because of there was, he was pretty sure this whole thing would be going under already. "Masky, quit being a pain in the ass. Pigtails, I get the temptation, but I need you to chill out. Let's just aaaaall take a deep breath."
And, now, back to the mission at hand. "Murder...? Not so sure about that. If she's so rich, she's also got the money to pay someone to clean up the mess instead of locking up the room." He was mostly speculating, but offered his assessment on what probably was not behind the door. "I think we'll probably find something other than her murder-hole." Or... whatever was being suggested was back there.
But for now? There was the 'doing' part. Dawn was already way ahead of him, so he attempted to follow her lead...
...And, wow, it's lile they weren't even trying to hide the lasers. He caught sight of the fly attempting - and failing - to make it through the lasers, and was promptly on high alert as he'd attempt to wade through, but at least turning around and giving Dawn a "Careful." as he heard her hiss in pain. He'd make his way across uneventfully, before turning his attention to the display cases.
Dawn apparently got one open with a well-placed bap, but when the next didn't open, it was Axel's turn, summoning his Keyblade. "Move over, lemme give this a shot." And then, with ol' reliable, he'd attempt to get it open.

Another one bites the dust, as Axel wedges open the top of the displah case by jamming his Keyblade into it and lifting. "There we go." He mentally patted himself on the back, before moving on to the next. Hopefully this one would be as easy.
p_1d20+4(WIS Keyblade Attack)
...And, another one, as Axel opens a third with his Keyblade. All right! He was really feeling himself, now. Just one more to go - a red one, it looked like. Seems pigtails had miscounted, but, oh well.
p_1d20+4(WIS Keyblade Attack)
...And Axel pries open the last one, and is now attempting to pick up and carry several eggs at once. He knew the lasers were there and all, but going back while carrying all three of these sounded unpleasant, so he'd attempt to hand one off to Dawn. "Mind lightening my load a bit?"
