Vanitas had known of Kairi for quite some time but it wasn't long after his meeting of her that he wanted to have a challenge to beat her at her own game. Besides this way no one would jump in to help her this time and it would be a fair fight, not that he cared about a fair fight really since he had been known to do whatever he could to win his own fights but still this would give him the advantage on the battlefield. One on One suited him just fine.

A corridor of darkness appeared in the middle of the stadium as Vanitas would walk out and take a battle stance. "This time you won't have any outside help, think you can beat me without it?" He taunted Kairi as he could tell that the others who did want to help her were watching in the stands. "Take your stance and fight me." he demanded as he was ready for her this time.

He didn't care to attack them this time, more so he only wanted revenge for last time. But there was another reason he wanted to fight her, he felt new emotions coming from himself when she gave him that apple and in that moment of weakness everyone there considered him not a threat to them, he hoped to change that, or at least find out more about food once he won. He had his mask off for once, not that it mattered anyway as Kairi had seen what he looked like before.

"... I have all the help I need right here, Vanitas!" she replies, holding a hand to her chest as she walked into the Stadium. She had no idea why Vanitas was so intent on fighting her but at least she had insurance should he try anything. After his call out she took her stance and prepared herself to fight. "I'm ready to show you what I'm made of!" she declared, pointing a finger towards  Vanitas before summoning her keyblade and getting into fighting stance.

Vanitas would not hold back as he saw Kairi take her battle ready stance. He needed to prove to himself that he could be just as merciless as he had been in the past, these new emotions he had would be placed to the side for his true nature. Taking the first attack Vanitas would unleash one heck of a start as he readied a Dark Firaga to fire at Kairi.

The orb of shadowy fire was purple in color and fired right at Kairi without a second thought. Even if she managed to dodge it Vanitas had warped behind her and attempted to slash at her with his keyblade with a Dark Spiral attack then follow it up with a Dark Splicer to finish things off.
