Roll.exe found herself fidgeting a bit as she entered the Stadium alongside her Operator. The pink clad Navi constantly glancing back at Mayl with a nervous look in her eyes.. "You know, you can send me data from the stands right? You don't have to be down here while the fight's happening..."

Mayl meanwhile simply shook her head as she placed a hand on her dear friend's shoulder. She still wasn't fully used to this, she didn't have a Copybot back home, so she never had the chance to actually comfort her Navi physically. "We both know that's not how a fight is gonna work when we're out there. This isn't like home where I watched you fight from behind a screen. We're going to have to be out there together. I... I'm going to have to get used to that.

"But what if you get hurt again?" Roll's voice was kind of shaky. The two of them had only recently been released from Brightwing. The fight against Dharkon having caused quite a bit of damage to the both of them.

"That's why we're doing this here. If I do get hit, we won't be that far from a hospital." She then promptly took a few steps away from her Navi as the gate on the other end of the arena opened up. Revealing the Maverick hunter on the other end. "Sorry to call you on such short notice. But I figured that since we'd be working together soon, that you'd be the perfect partner for today's spar. My name is Mayl Sakurai, I'm an Operator from ACDC Town."

"Mine is Roll.exe. I'm Mayl's Netnavi." Roll decided to bow a bit to X as he entered. She figured she'd might as well show respect to the reploid. Maybe he wouldn't aim at Mayl if she did that...

Some moments after he had signed up for a new mission, X received a curious request.

The virus buster Dr. Hikari had enlisted to search over the energy spike wanted to spar with him. It was kind of odd, but X figured there might have been a reason to do so. Did they wish to test him, or were there no ulterior motives attached? Well, there was only one way to find out.

X dashed inside the arena as the gates opened, stopping once he was in full public view. "I hope I'm not late." He said. "You are...the virus buster Dr. Hikari mentioned, I assume?" X asked, looking over the two young girls on the opposite side of the arena. He kept an open...earpiece to their introductions, keeping a warm smile as he listened on.

"A pleasure to meet you. An Operator and...NetNavi, hm? I'm not familiar with the latter term, but...I suppose I'll have to ask later. That's not what we're here for, is it?" X asked, becoming quiet for a couple of moments. If Mayl was an 'Operator', it was...relatively safe to assume she'd hang back and not interfere directly. He'd make a mental point to avoid attacking her. "I'm Mega Man X, a Maverick Hunter from Abel City. You can just call me X, however." he introduced himself. He grabbed one of his arms, as his hand retracted inside him before it turned into a Buster weapon.

"I'm ready when you are!" X said, getting ready to fight!

Roll nodded her head a bit as she got into her own stance, her ribbons twitching as she steeled herself. "We'll explain what it means in a bit. But before we get started, I wanted to say I'm sorry." Roll closed her eyes for a few seconds while Mayl dug into her pockets to pull out her PET and a battle chip.

"It was my idea to invite you to spar here. When I saw you sign up for the mission, well..." She thought for a second before continuing. "There's a Megaman back in my world too and you reminded me a lot of him. He used to save me all the time back home, but I always wanted to prove to him that I can take care of myself."

With that, she stood straight up. Her stance gaining more confidence as her ribbons hardened. She was ready now that she'd gotten that off her chest. "Now, let's go!"

With that Roll charged forward. Her ribbons seeming to sharpen as they bent into a strange shape. Mayl slotting the battle chip into her PET. Sending a round of Mini Bomb data towards the pink Navi. Causing a small, blue bomb to appear in her hand which she promptly tossed towards X. Causing a very small explosion as the sphere made contact with either X or the ground.

Just then, Roll.exe's right hand would transform into a large crossbow looking buster, which promptly fired a small pink arrow made out of data. The bolt flying forward in an attempt to strike the Maverick hunter dead center.

As the arrow flew towards X, Roll whipped her head rather violently. Causing her ribbons to detach and fling out towards the reploid. Regardless of if they connected on the first pass, X would need to be weary as they returned, attempting to strike him again as they headed back and reattached to Roll's helmet.

"...I see. No need to apologize." X said simply. "If you wish to prove that you want to take care of yourself, then...I won't hold back!" he said before entering his combat stance proper.

When Roll.exe performed her attacks, X dodged them without fail, almost in a rhythmical fashion. He leapt over the Mini Bomb and its blast, dashed under the Roll Arrow, and leapt over the NetNavi as she performed the Roll Boomerang move. Once in the air, he pointed his Buster down to Roll.exe, as it made a soft charging noise...before X unleashed a large blue shot from his Buster, the attack probably even breaking some of the ground with its destructive power.

Landing on the ground, X began to circle Roll.exe, shooting a barrage on uncharged shots from his X-Buster. Either Mayl or Roll would probably notice that, rather than keeping his distance as he circled, X kept moving closer and closer...

As it turns out, he had his reasons. The volley of buster shots had ceased, but X was still very much on the offensive. The Buster suddenly generated a plasma sword, and with the closed distance between the two, X made a large, descending slash towards the NetNavi.

"What the...? Roll's eyes went wide as X avoided all of her attacks before finally leaping over her, the navi looking straight up as the advanced blue bomber aimed his buster right at her. The tell tale sound of a buster charging filling her ears before...

BOOM! "Agh!" The shot hit dead on, blasting the pink clad girl a few steps forward as she staggered and tried to keep her balance. It wasn't enough to cause super serious injury, but it sure as hell hurt. Thankfully, Roll would snap out of the pain just in time for her to get ready for X's smaller lemon sized shots.

Roll was able to avoid a good number of them, the digital girl's fighting instincts kicking back in as she analyzed each shot and moved to avoid it, only for the last few bullets to strike her, doing a tad bit more damage. But that was fine, because she actually caught on to X's plan well before he'd reached her.

With a surprising amount of speed and grace, Roll seemed to spin away from X's slash the navi avoiding it by a thread as the ribbons on her helmet suddenly sharpened and extended, a myriad of small, yellow tendrils now slicing and slashing at X before Roll kicked off the ground away from the Maverick Hunter.

Just then, Roll's right hand would transform into a small, sleek Buster which promptly began firing several small shots at X. The girl leaping again as she landed on the ground to put herself above X, just like the Reploid had done to her a moment earlier. Just in time for Mayl to slot in another Battle Chip and send the data to her.

As Roll.exe sailed over X's head, her Buster expanded and transformed into a copy of the Cannon Virus that she was so used to dealing with, before firing a powerful shot, straight down onto X. It wasn't quite as powerful as the Charge Shot earlier. But it was still pretty strong in terms of over all power.

As the Navi landed she turned around with a soft spin. A light smile on her face as she got back into her combat stance. "Again, thank you for this. She couldn't help showing her appreciation again. The way X fought, it was fundamentally different from how her own Megaman Net-Battled, but... it felt kind of familiar at the same time.

Once Roll.exe dodged the saber, X immediately shifted into a defensive stance as the Net navi tried to attack him. The yellow tendrils were swiftly avoided, but the streak of dodged attacks would end as Roll managed to nail her Buster shots (the fact that he looke. He was left with little time to react to the Cannon follow-up, which managed to hit him as well.

X staggered a bit after receiving those strikes, but he stood his ground. "Not bad...but I don't intend to go down so easily! Get ready!" X bantered with a friendly smile as he opened fire at Roll.exe once more, closing out their distance as he fired his solar pellets.

Once he closed enough distance, the futuristic blue bomber would quickly draw his plasma sword and try to strike Roll with an upper slash...though he wouldn't end it there, as the tell-tale sound of a charging Buster hummed through the arena...and X fired a point-blank Charge Shot at her.

The first of those pellets would strike home, causing Roll.exe to stagger for but a moment, giving X ample time to put her on the defensive again as she managed to avoid the rest of the barrage. The blue bomber's saber landing dead on, striking her shoulder and causing her to let out a slight grunt of pain, however Roll managed to quickly side step the follow-up Charge Shot. The Net navi staying close as her ribbons resumed their earlier assault. Several swift and deft strikes lashing out at the Reploid.

"Well then, I guess I really shouldn't hold back then!"

As Roll's ribbons swished back into their normal position, a soft clicking sound would come from Mayl's direction. The Red Head having set another Battle Chip into her PET. The data swiftly transferring over to Roll, causing another small sphere to appear in her left hand, which she promptly tossed at X's feet as she leapt back, away from the inevitable detonation.

As the dust cleared, Roll.exe would aim her buster and fire another small, pink bolt of energy at X, the shot was somewhat sloppy, hell she'd mostly guessed where he was going to be in the cloud. The pink girl remaining tense as she watched for where her opponent would be coming from next

X swerves to one side as he escapes one of Roll's ribbon blades, but he gets hit by the other two strike. The mini bomb would miss its mark with a well-timed backward jump, though the Maverick Hunter was very much open for the buster shot, the projectile sending him back a bit.

"Ngh...you're doing pretty good! Keep it up!" X said, encouraging Roll to do her best. He allowed a bit of smirk to form on his face - this fluttering feeling of competition...he was enjoying this! Maybe because he knew he was just sparring with some soon-to-be allies/friends...?

"...I'd like to take the moment to say sorry about the repetition of my attacks. I haven't much to go in my repertoire just yet." X admitted. He figured both were getting used to his patterns already, and he figured it was getting kind of boring. "...S-sorry, I kinda rambled. Now then, here I go!" X said before he drew the Blade Saber again and slashed at Roll, before trying to catch her off guard with a Charge Shot!

Roll found herself blushing a bit as X actually complimented her attacks. The navi quickly shaking her head to clear any distracting thoughts from it as she heard X apologize "Don't worry too much about it. Almost everyone here has had a lot of their weapons stripped away. Don't be ashamed of working with what you have!" As she finished saying that, she got ready to continue fighting as well. She was actually starting to feel pretty excited about all of this. She hadn't really felt this happy during a net battle since the last time she netbattled...

The netnavi's train of thought would crash to a stop as X's Saber strike connected dead on. Roll.exe letting out a small squeak of pain as she was sent flying back from the follow Charge Shot. The Netnavi only being able to dodge the first couple of pellets when she landed before the rest struck her body. The girl falling to one knee as she got ready to keep fighting but...

"I think that's enough!" Mayl's voice would suddenly call out. Only for Roll to glance up at her Operator in confusion. She wasn't in any life threatening danger, X had held back just enough to prevent any really major damage, so why was she calling the match early like this.

'Mayl, what are you doing, I can still fight and..." She suddenly stopped as Mayl suddenly shushed her.

"I know, but that's why I'm stopping this now. We got a mission to do soon and I don't want to risk either of you getting yourselves too badly hurt." She'd turn back to X as she said that last bit. "Besides, I think we both know who the winner of this one is gonna end up being."

Roll would just chuckle to herself as she finally sat down. "I know..." She lamented a bit. Truth be told, she'd taken a lot more damage than she was actually showing and Mayl knew that more than X did.

Still she couldn't help looking up to X with a big smile on her face. "You know, you don't just fight like him. Our Megaman, I mean." Mayl would suddenly look back to her partner with a curious look. The red haired girl taking a step to the side to let her friend talk. "You're kind like him too."
