Yo! I recently finished up the Status Effect Overhaul for the site. There were some lingering problems with certain statuses from back before we had many mechanics, and there was also a sort of disconnect between how we originally envisioned statuses back in the old days prior to our modern systems and how combat works today. Examples being: Statuses lasting 8 turns?? Most fights don't last 8 turns! And the minimum of 3 turns is more than half a PVP match. Does that make any sense, pragmatically? No. Contrastingly, some statuses like sickness were inexcusably awful.

Almost every status on the site has been changed in some way. Buffs. Nerfs. Complete overhauls. We even added two new statuses, Severe Exhaustion and Digestion/Swallowed Whole! These two statuses originate from member-made moves and have seen enough use that standardizing them became efficient. The way status duration is calculated has also been changed to have a minimum of 1 turn and a maximum of 5 turns.

Lastly, each status has had its balancing considerations listed to the upper right of it. A status will either be listed as a greater status, a lesser status, or varies--describing how it is intended to be balanced. In terms of balancing weight, lesser statuses are usually worth 10% damage and greater statuses are usually worth 20% damage.
