[Maverick Hunter Zero]

Zero stood at the side of the arena, his loss to Banjo and Kazooie spurred him to greater heights, even his fellow reploids were anticipating the mark of a good match today.  The sun was out and it was a bright sunny day, the sight of the Repliforce General again sitting on his large throne brought some form of calm to the Maverick Hunter, his stoic expression being a means of discerning himself from all of Dr. Wily's other Robot Masters.

He was patiently waiting for one of them in particular to enter the arena; the one known as Knight Man.

    Knight Man was in fair mood today.  The sun was out and he had a new challenger today.  Still being a bit disappointed that he could not finish his battle with Yamato Man.  He was doing fairly well with withstanding his weakness but that was behind him now as he had a new opponent to face.  A robot named Zero.

    As he entered Sunshine Stadium, he was accompanied by his graceful red cape.  It waved it the wind behind him as if it were a flag high upon a pole.  He found this a perfect occasion to wear it as it was his first official tournament here plus it was against a fellow bot.  He walked to his side of the arena, shield held firmly in hand while his flail remained withdrawn.  After reaching his destined location, he turned back to see his competition.  

    The bot had some of the characteristics that Wily's bots would usually sport but something about this one was different.  It seemed a bit more advanced-- maybe more.  The buster attached to his arm brought memories of his earlier foes such as Centaur Man and Plant Man as they both had the buster attached to an arm.  The crystal on the chest from Blizzard Man but the rest he could not determine.  No matter, he would defeat his opponent  just like his previous thousand.

    He let his eyes scan his opponent for a moment more before crossing his arms and standing up formally. He was ready for a battle that would surely bring him a good mood like all the others had.

It was time again for the referee to be summoned for another battle. He came rushing in looking healthy and well rested from his little break from the arena. He was thankful for the rest period, but he was also jazzed to get another battle going. A crowd storms inward filling every seat pretty easily and eying the fighters. He steps between the two robots and welcomes them.

"Ahwwwww yeah! It's good to be back! Welcome to Sunshine Stadium! The only place to test your skills and prove your worth in the battle against the Infected! Oh I just can't wait to see those skills!"

The ref does a double take at the two and notices they both look eerily similar.

"Ya'll aren't brothers or nothin are ya? No matter. You may look alike, but you still gotta fight regardless of alliance, genes, or otherwise."

The ref continued on to the rules of engagement and yelled em out nice and loud for everyone.

"The rules are as follows: NO cheating. NO calling for outside help. NO killing eachother, and NO escaping the arena. You are both granted five turns each to show us your moves. Any questions before the flag is raised?"

The referee didn't feel like he was in any danger with these two. For some reason he felt the competitors today were on mutual grounds and had a sense of justice and good morals. He was looking forward to this fight as he waited for their replies.

"There are no questions from me, sir." Zero said patiently to the Referee, his right hand unsheathing his trusty Z-Saber as he said this, though he was eager to fight one of his own, he had taken the chance to analise his own mistakes by ratching a recording of his battle with Banjo and Kazooie. He knew that Knight Man was not similar to the pair, but his eyes told him that Knight Man was more about Valor, which was what Zero needed to find out for himself.

The knight watched the ref enter the arena as a great amount of people flooded the arena's seats. Brightening his mood a bit, he looked at the ref. His words of them being brothers made him stop and think for a moment. Could Wily have made him? It was an interesting question indeed. "I have no questions.  May the best man win," he replied. Tossing his cape aside, he loosened his flail so it could be ready to fire at any moment.

Seeing the two fighters surprisingly calm for battle, as if it was simply a friendly dual, the referee doesn't delay them any further and allows the contest to start.

"AND...BEGIN!"

The ref waves the flag to signal the battle's start and casually walks over to his seat having no fear this time that these two would go crazy on him and fight before he reached safety. He was relieved to say the least that this battle wasn't the usual over the top fights he was used to. Not yet anyway. After the ref is seated, members of the crowd look up to see their trusted commentators Toad and Toadette approach the sky box overlooking the arena waving to everyone. They put on their headsets and begin to talk.



"Hello again all! Toad here and today we are seeing metal on metal in this robo showdown!"

"I don't know if that's metal they are sporting with their armor, those species I believe are called..Reploids? Or something like that, and they are a mix of flesh and fancy tech and they were made for battle. I'm Toadette by the way! Howdy!"

"Both claim to stand for justice, but who will REALLY represent the side of good in this match."

"I think this battle will be a friendly dual in a test of skill. A nice change of pace than the grudge and violent matches we are used to seeing."

"Let's get things under way and see what the technological brutes have to present to us today!"

The crowd today had many reploids filling the seats, more than usual, and they were watching with calculated eyes to see how their brethren would fair against eachother. Many of them even refused to bet on this match because they believed it would be too close of a call. The popular prediction from the crowd today here was the word tie, but who knows if that will come to pass.

Zero assumed a battle stance and began to think which would be a best method of attack, He immediately thought of using his signature attack, but he wanted to avoid using it until the climax of the brawl. So he immediately preped a strategy, one he employed against his last opponent.

"I wonder, but like with my last opponent, I trust you are prepared for an epic fight." Zero said as his Yammar Options came out and surrounded him, Zero then began to perform his imfamous Z-Buster/Yammar Option Combo, both the Yammars and Zero opening fire as he moved backwards to keep Knight Man at a distance so as to not catch a blow with the flail.

    Knight Man took on his battle stance as soon as the ref said begin.

    Zero began by putting out several small bots to aid him in firepower as he to began opening fire.  "Distance for a battle..." he thought to himself as he thought up a plan.  He put up his shield to block out the bullets that were headed towards him.  They were somewhat stronger than what he was used to so it took him a second to differentiate their power. Slowly moving ahead towards him, stopping periodically to catch footing then continue on.  Once close enough, he pulled off a Shield Rush as he threw himself forward.  He was hoping for it to hit so he could gain a few seconds to pull off another attack but if not he would have to rely on his quick wits to get him away from any close combat maneuvers.

With a defensive maneuver balancing odds against an offensive maneuver the styles clashed in a display of gunfire and metal on metal action. This raised the crowd's interest level seeing Knight Man rush ahead into attack mode and Zero sticking with projectiles giving everyone watching already, a rising conflict and great start to the battle. The competitors were instantly so engaged in their technique that they drew the crowd right in.



"What a way to start things off! Projectile strategy from Zero, and close quarters retaliation from Knight Man! Total opposite tactic there, my guess is they will cancel eachother out."

"Maybe your right Toad, but I've seen Zero's flying machines known as Yammar Options be pretty tricky to go against before, especially just rushing ahead like that."

"Knight Man has his armor and immense defense technique though, and that could rule out Zero's ever common and ever popular rapid fire approach."

"From watching these two go right into it, I'd say they both know exactly what the other is capable of and done their homework, this will be a standoff for sure."

"Hmm, I wonder if Dr. Wily is getting his fair share of entertainment out of this...."

So much was going on in the arena so early on that the audience was far more into the bout than they usually were. It was a fight of opposites at the moment, defense against offense, and questions began to arise between viewers and friends alike of the two challengers of how two foes who already knew eachother so well would outwit the other. It was certainly a mind bending spectacle that nobody was able to properly predict.

Zero saw that Knight Man was definately no slouch on the battlefield, but a bum rush with a shield would not make it any more different as Zerl put up his Bubble Shield. Knight Man was now standing Ground Zero in Zero's Blast Zone as he raised a clenched fist.

"Might never be too late to bust this out. Take this, My Signature Attack move; SUPREME LIGHT COMMAND: REKKOHA!" Zero shouted as he smashed his fist into the ground, causing countless beams of light to rain down into the arena from on high, there would be no way Knight man could evade them all even with his shield

He made a bad move with his attack as Zero simply blocked it with his own shield. Attempting to jump back, he was too late. His opponent had activated his ultimate as the sky grew brighter and pillars of light fell. The knight had no choice but to block it. He put up his bubble shield and held up his personal shield over his head. It was no use. The light came down and crashed upon him. With his bubble shield shattered, he flew back along the ground of the arena. His shield lay beside him as he laid face down on the ground. Remaining motionless for a few seconds, he rose back to his feet. Trying to maintain his balance was a slight difficulty but he managed it. His armor was covered in scratches and few cuts. "I have to admit Zero..." he stopped for a moment to catch his breath. "You have some strength in you." Falling onto one knee while finishing up his words and grasping his shield lightly.

As Zero hit his final smash and beams of light shattered throughout the arena honing in on Knight Man the spectators covered their eyes from the blinding brightness with the crowd protected by the Stadium's invisible shield and Knight Man began being showered by the piercing rays putting up his own shield, but only able to block a small percentage of it falling from exhaustion. When the crowd saw that he had survived it, they were on their feet in amazement, open jawed, wide eyed, speechless...members of the crowd looked at eachother and then back at Knight Man, the various thoughts going through their heads all lead to the same question of how the knight survived such power. The crowd was stunned, but after a few moments of dead silence, they suddenly all broke out in cheers applauding Knight Man for sticking it out, some even started to chant his name! The outcome of the battle was even more sought after by the crowd now, as curiosity explodes between each seat!



"HOLY KOOPA CONUNDRUMS! I believe I just sprung a leak in my toadstool Toadette, what we just witnessed surviving such immense strength from Zero, was Knight Man's unfailing will to stay in this fight. I wish I was that brave!"

"I can't believe it myself Toad. That Knight Man's combination of unfaltering armor, great defensive strategy, and complete willpower has kept him standing!"

"Do you think Zero may have used such a powerful attack too soon? I wonder if he has any other tricks up his sleeve to keep Knight Man down."

"I honestly think Zero made the right call here. He needed to wear down Knight Man's sturdy armor and bring him to a humbling standard. Sure he won't have the energy for the same attack, but knowing how creative Zero is, he will find a way to overpower the foe."

"I disagree. I think it was a mistake to use that ultimate technique so soon. Knight Man now has an advantage in this fight against Zero, he may be hurt, but he still has his energy. Maybe that was his tactic all along? To tire Zero out, until the right moment to strike. OH MY HE IS CLEVER!"

Toadette gave Toad a displeasing look for disagreeing, but she turned her head back to the fight and kept a watchful eye on Knight Man and his present wounded condition, as did the referee in the stands to see if he had to call the match any time soon or not. There were even those in the crowd who looked concerned that the knight endured so much and still refused to stay down. He certainly had a fan base in the crowd today, and it seemed Zero was now going to have to be in careful planning mode, for Knight Man had the advantage currently, whether it shifts the battle significantly or not is the question yet to be answered.

Zero thought of the strategy, but wanted to keep his distance in case Knight Man went for something that would hurt Zero in the long run, He looked at his opponent and was suprised that he was still standing even after the attack had ended. sure he could no longer use his ultimate, but he had other moves that can be combled with his Yammars, which were still out and acting like an orbital shield. "I know you still have some fight left in you, Let's make this a match for all to remember." Zero said as he got ready for whatever tricks Knight Man had up his metallic sleeves.
