Pokemon (Unova)
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
Motto: "..."
Allies/Friends: Witch, SS Zelda, Palutena, Pit
Enemies/Rivals: ...
Backstory: Born and raised in Icirrus City, Unova, Valorie started off life as a rather talkative young lady who enjoyed telling tall tales to her friends, but didn't care so much for the physical games they played. As she grew into a teenager, her mother began grooming her to help run the local shop. Valorie however had other dreams. She would often meander north of Icirrus City to watch Dragonspiral Tower from a distance, dreaming eagerly of the incredible dragon pokemon that must live there. After several years of trying to persuade her parents to let her go on her own pokemon journey, she finally convinced her mother to relent with some assistance from her father. Soon after this her father brought home an axew. Valorie promptly used this Axew to challenge the Icirrus City gym with predictable results, losing immediately for her ignorance. She promptly lost her temper and fled, vowing to journey wide and train hard before returning. Her first stop was a rather prestigious pokemon trainer's academy. She was able to do quite well on the entrance exam and spent two years studying and rigorously bettering herself before finally graduating at the age of 13.
---Social Life---
Valorie grew up trying to impress her fellow children with wild stories of heroics, one of her favorite pass times as a young child. For a while she was quite popular because of her storytelling, though in truth all her stories were figments of her imagination. However, as she and her peers got older those around her began to catch on to the themes of her stories, how she often tried to imagine herself as their heroine, and many stopped caring to listen. Some even began to make fun of her stories, a Thus Valorie's circle of friends shrunk dramatically over time and she began telling her stories to adults, who found them a bit more endearing.
---Family---
Valorie's Father, named Quinton, was a traveling businessman, moderately successful entrepreneur and a pretty strong trainer to top it off. He didn't hang around at home very much during Valorie's childhood, however, the two frequently kept in contact via xtransceiver. He was responsible for gifting Valorie her first pokemon, Axew. He often travels abroad and is very worldly as a result. Valorie's Mother, named Miranda, is the owner of a small general store in Icirrus City. She hopes that one day Valorie will take over the store for her, a sentiment not shared by her daughter. Because her father was out on business a great deal of the time Valorie was primarily raised by her mother and spent the early parts of her teenage years learning to work at her shop.
Appearance:
History On Li: Valorie spent her early time on Li studying magic, specifically Love Magic, while attempting to find her pokemon. However, once she discovered a way to devour and absorb the powers of others, she promptly went about attempting to accumulate all the power she could, making quite a few enemies along the way in the form of the people she hurt. This eventually resulted in her ascending to goddesshood, fulfilling her dreams of 'ultimate' power. However, she discovered that her power did not grant her the reverence and respect she yearned for, and that she wasn't entirely comfortable with the terrible things she did using those powers. Forced to hurt the people she'd considered her friends, her heart was broken and she lost the ability to use love magic naturally.
She wound up fighting Dharkon in Mirage Portal L, where her goddesshood was stripped away from her in a violent fashion, effectively lobotomizing her mind twice as both of her domains and the intuitive knowledge of them were torn away from her. This caused an extreme amount of mental trauma, and she was left in a vegetative state for some time afterward while her shattered mind tried to heal its extensive wounds.
Powerless and so weak she could do little besides lay in bed and rot, it took several weeks for her to recover well enough that she began to show signs of higher intelligence and awareness again, as well as the ability to speak--albeit only semi-coherently. Extremely distraught at her own condition, Valorie began struggling to find a way to overcome her own weakness. Still so weak she couldn't even walk properly without falling all over herself, she turned to her lost powers, searching for a miracle. While her broken heart still would not allow her to cast love magic, her extremely intense desire to escape this hellish existence pushed her to awaken an entirely different form of Emotion Magic. Willpower Magic. This magic gave her the strength to not only get out of bed but focus her broken mind, sort of duct taping herself back together.
Disillusioned and embittered by failure and what she saw as false love, she gave up battling with her pokemon entirely and turned her back on (most) of her former friends, seeking new meaning in her life while exploring these new powers she'd awakened. She found that she could turn other emotions into power as well, mostly those that she felt passionately enough about.
Primary Attacks (10)
Psychokinesis: Valorie uses her force of will to toss people and objects about. When tossing objects at people, it targets DEX. When targeting people, it targets strength for their ability to physically resist being grabbed and thrown by an incorporeal force. Costs 1 willpower. At the cost of an extra action and an extra point of willpower, this attack gains a 100% chance of stunning the foe. (Heavy Cha Attack; Does 20% Damage)
Psychokinetic Storm: Valorie tosses multiple smaller objects at a target at once or assaults them with bolts of willpower, attempting to overwhelm them with a coordinated assault! Has a +2 to hit. Costs 1 willpower. 1 turn cooldown. (Light Cha Attack; Does 8% Damage)
Willpower Construct: Valorie manifests green'ish energy constructs made of willpower, usually a pair of fists or a leg and uses them to strike people in the vein of Bayonetta's smash attacks. Can target WIS if they are summoned out of sight of the foe. However, this particular attack involves her mimicking the construct's movements with her own body, which impacts her ability to dodge. Afflicts a -1 penalty to a dodge roll on her next turn. Costs 1 willpower. At the cost of an extra action and an extra point of willpower, this attack gains a 100% chance of stunning the foe. (Heavy Cha Attack; Does 26% Damage)
Rage Bolt: Valorie channels anger and frustration into a bolt of scarlet electricity. This attack does 1% more damage for every 10 willpower Valorie is missing, steadily transforming from a singular bolt of rage into a flurry of wildly arcing electricity as it grows stronger. Has a 100% chance of afflicting paralysis. Costs 5 willpower. At the cost of an extra action and an extra point of willpower, it can afflict disabled on a physical stat for 3 turns. (Medium Cha Attack; Does 15% damage)
Banshee's Wail: This attack can only be used if Valorie is under the effects of the fear/horrified status. Her player can choose to afflict her with this status at any time it feels appropriate, and this self-afflicted fear has a bravery DC of 14. This attack takes the form of a psychic scream that drowns out rational thought and sends everyone around Valorie into a panic. They do not know why they are terrified, only feeling an intense and imminent danger that they cannot rationalize. Targets INT and costs 5 willpower. 3 turn cooldown (Heavy Cha Attack; Does 20% Damage)
Echoes of Hope: Valorie channels feelings of despair into a miasma of hopelessness that steals the wills of others to fight by conjuring a phantom pain in their hearts. Targets INT. On a crit or if targets fail their resistance roll by 4 or more, they lose an action. If targets fail their resistance roll by 8 or more take an additional 18% damage ignoring the base damage cap. Costs 10 willpower. 3 turn cooldown (Heavy Cha Attack; Does 32% Damage)

Special Attacks (8)
Willpower: Valorie runs on D E T E R M I N A T I O N. It fuels all of her powers and she turns into a cripple without it. She has a stat called Willpower that is equal to her maximum HP plus her maximum Shield. If she ever accumulates more damage than she has remaining willpower, she becomes afflicted with the Severe Exhaustion status. She regenerates 2 willpower per turn starting at the second turn without any combat or actions being taken, and regenerates willpower equal to half the healing she receives from any mentally soothing source rounded up. When Valorie is targeted by statuses or other secondary effects, she can roll to resist them. The DC for resisting them is equal to the % chance of being afflicted divided by 5 and reduced by 4. So for a 100% chance status, the DC would be 16. Physical statuses are resisted with CON and mental statuses with CHA. Each time she does this, it costs 2 willpower.
Crushing Pressure: The weight of Valorie's willpower falls upon the battlefield like a weighted blanket of intense gravity, weighing enemy combatants down and making movement problematic. This is a CHA vs STR roll that afflicts the slow status for 3 turns. Additionally, the target must make a CON roll for each turn for 3 turns against the original attack roll. If they fail, they take 10% crushing damage. Characters that attempt to fly, jump or swim while under the affects of gravity are treated as if Valorie was making a charisma based grapple check to prevent them from doing so each turn. (Ask for the roll if you need it.) Costs 8 willpower. 3 turn cooldown.
Reckless Abandon: Valorie becomes consumed by an intense anger directed toward a single target. For 1 turn, she rerolls every attack roll and takes the better of the two, dealing an increased 8% damage. However on the following turn she rerolls every dodge roll and takes the worse of the two. This buff is a free action. Costs 5 Willpower. 2 turn cooldown.
Shatter Psyche: Valorie attempts to cripple a target's mind by overwhelming it with an overwhelming storm of negative emotions. Disables a mental stat for 3 turns and also afflicts mind-melted. Targets INT. Costs 5 willpower. 1 turn cooldown. (Medium Cha Attack; Does 2% Damage)
Indomitable: Valorie attempts to overpower a target's assault by conjuring an aura of willpower to protect herself and rushing to intercept them during their attack, striking them with a giant spectral fist. This is a counter-attack made in place of a defense roll, but cannot be used against a target she does not know is trying to hurt her. She rolls charisma against the attack. If she beats the attack roll, the counter-attack lands and does damage equal to the attack she countered plus 2% damage for every 1 she beat the attack by. If she fails, she takes the attack and wastes her action. Costs 5 willpower. 2 turn cooldown.
Usurp Will: Valorie forces her will upon an enemy, initiating a Charisma vs INT roll to attempt to control them. If successful, she can force the target to make an action of her choice towards a target of her choice. This action bypasses the effects of non-physical statuses that would prevent the victim from attacking or hinder their attacks such as mind-melted, infatuation, and sleep. When used on a sleeping target or a target that is otherwise incapable of defending themselves, possession lasts until they regain consciousness. 4 turn cooldown.
Sapphic Soul: "I think you might like girls too much." - One of Valorie's friends, prior to Li. The meaning was lost on her at the time. Valorie has deep-seated attraction to, obsession with, and desire to be appreciated by other girls, no matter what she might tell you. Valorie deals -3 damage to any character she can tell is female and regards as cute/pretty. Additionally, she automatically fails any attempt to resist infatuation from said girls. Valorie becomes infatuated with female characters that successfully flirt with her, show her affection, put on a display of girl power that impresses her, or simply look extremely beautiful by her standards. She can resist this, however a persuasion (Cha vs Int) roll can force the infatuation. If Valorie fails an infatuation resistance roll by 8 or more against one such type of character, or is the target of intimate affection such as kisses or cuddling, or is the target of a particularly intimate and humiliating attack, she may become afflicted by Disabled (Cha) for 1 turn. This disabled status may be extended on a turn-by-turn basis if the afflictor is able to keep her flustered, perhaps using a charisma vs int roll. If a cute boy attempts any such actions, they do 5 damage to her willpower instead. If overt sexism is involved, it does 10 extra damage to her willpower.
On the plus side, when a character that Valorie is infatuated with or thinks is cute/pretty tries to encourage or comfort her, or asks her to do something, and she obliges them, she gains 5 willpower and a +1 bonus to any roll involved in doing something for that character. Additionally, whenever girls are underestimated, belittled, or damsel-in-distressed by a character she can't tell is female in her presence, or a competition is framed as being a boys vs girls affair to her, she gains a +1 bonus to her rolls and 5 willpower that turn. Lastly, the odds of her being infatuated by a character she can't tell is a woman at any time is reduced by 50%, and she gains a +4 when rolling for its duration against such characters.

Final Smash (1)
Soul Ablaze: Valorie pushes her body, mind and heart to their limits, her passion boiling over into a self-destructive mania. While under the effects of this buff, Valorie's willpower is treated as if it were full and she gains a +15 damage bonus, a +2 to her charisma modifier, and her critical threshold drops by 1. Additionally, she can keep fighting below 0 HP for up to 2 turns. This final smash can be activated while KO'd. However, she is also treated as having the Severe Exhaustion status and any mechanic that successfully calms her down will end the final smash. Once the final smash ends, her willpower drops to 0.
