Dozens of bright white hills dotted the landscape of the Frozen Scrapyard, massive testaments to the sheer amount of snow that fell in this part of the world... or at least that's what one would think at first glimpse. In reality, the snow rarely reached levels capable of creating those massive hills of frozen water droplets. No, the moment one takes a single step on one, they immediately realize the truth of what they were looking at as rusty metal crunches beneath their feet.

Hundreds, no... thousands of corpses sat beneath that pristine snow. The white powder doing an excellent job at hiding the many reploids whose bodies were piled up so haphazardly. Their forms broken well beyond repair. If not due to the damage they had sustained, then thanks to the copious amounts of water now entering their systems and freezing the circuitry. This place, despite it's wintery wonderland aesthetic was a veritable graveyard... one that our heroes would need be cautious of, lest they add to the pile...



MISSION START!

The group would arrive at a thankfully more even grounded part of the Scrapyard, the wind seeming fairly calm as well. Giving them plenty of vision in regards to their immediate area and some time to think about their first proper course of action. Currently there were three paths before them. One headed Northeast, closer to the frozen lake where more hills dotted the landscape, where more bodies likely lay alongside more potentially useful scrap. To the West was a snowed over road that led to what seemed like the remains of an abandoned factory, likely housing more intact materials and also acting as a potential shelter for foes. Finally a small slope led down and back towards the South. It seemed exceedingly slippery thanks to the ice coating it, caution would need to be taken if one didn't want to go tumbling down.

And first to arrive, was a red beam of light that cut through the muggy black of the starvia sky, landing on the ground with a loud crunch before swirling and forming into a Fully formed, tall Android with long blonde hair, whom had his eyes shut for just a moment, before coming awake and looking around. "Guess im the first one up." Zero said with a sigh, crossing his arms and taking the first step, only to hear a deafening *CRNCH* In the snow. One that was pretty audibly disturbing compared to the crunch of the snow. Zero took a moment to uncover the snow he stepped on, only to reveal...

...A face. A Reploid's face, twisted in agony and eyes wide open, the rest of his body ripped apart as Zero had incidentally stepped on his parts and chips, Making the Red Android wince for a moment. Zero took a moment to close the reploid's eyes and mouth, covering the snow back over him, and proceeding down onto a path that he could tell was, atleast covered enough to pull apart the sound of reploid bodies being crunched underfoot from ground.

"...I guess its better than a mountain of Human Corpses...But it doesnt make it any less disturbing." Zero would murmurr to himself as he stood in the fork between the Factory and Lake Path's, waiting for his comrade's at this point as he observed his options. "...I wonder why Humans never have to get shoved into a pile when they die." Zero pondered to himself, looking over to see a few odd hands and helmets, some with heads still inside, dotted across the whole landscape, before he looked back up to the purple sky of Starvia.

"....Then again, thats how some mavericks think." Zero scolded himself. "Reploids dont have the same indignity from that...I suppose." Zero would say, before taking the moments he could to simply cover up the strewn body parts that couldnt have much scrap use into the snow, to save them some dignity, atleast.

And arriving fashionably late was Protoman as he did not teleport in like Zero did but instead used his shield to ride down the slopes of the snowy mountains toward the area Zero was in. Using his shield like a snowboard he would slide down the slopes performing an aerial spin before landing in front of Zero with a spectacular landing if he did say so himself.

Hands up in the air pretending people were cheering for him upon his landing he would then step off his shield and place it back around his back. Well things were supposed to be pretty down and such since this was essentially a huge graveyard for robots like himself Blues did not really want to be a downer for the mission and tried to act cheery for everyone's sake.

Truth was this place was depressing and it really made him wonder if he would end up like this one day? Shaking his head he took those thoughts out of his head and would focus on waiting for the others to arrive. "Nothing like a little fun on the snowy mountains right?" Blues would ask Zero with a light smirk. Sure he had no idea who Zero was but he did not really need to know really.

Turning around he would look to see this place covered with robotic bodies in piles much like that of a human junkyard. "Though I guess it is easy to forget that this place was once probably full of those like us and also trying to enjoy the snow. Something clearly happened to them but I'm not sure what." Blues caught himself being somber and just would place his back against a nearby mountain wall then started to whistle. Whistling was more of a hobby than anything else but he liked to do it a lot. It would be a good thing to do while he waited for the other arrivals.

[Doctor Ciel]

Ciel arrived with DCN-002 on foot, her motorbike having had too much difficulty with the local terrain to make it this far. One had to muse aloud that it must've been a long walk from wherever it was parked, assuming they'd brought it at all. She carefully stepped through the snow to join the others at a somewhat relaxed pace, trying her best not to well-- trip over any bodies hidden underneath. Her heels didn't help in that regard, so today she was wearing some heavier boots in addition to a thicker coat to help keep her warm human energy contained. ...Geez, Zero. Ciel did her best not to comment on some of the things Zero had just said, much as they silently upset her. Once she closed the distance, she was quick to speak up on the current topic. 

“ ...This place is a monument to genocide. It was created by people who refused to recognize the value of robot life and had no empathy for their suffering. ”

Ciel's voice had a distressed and sickly inflection to it that hinted at the queasy feeling in her stomach. She felt sick knowing she had likely played a large part in creating this mass grave.

“ ...Reports from past exploration attempts suggest there may be paranormal activity in the area. Be cautious as you explore and don't be afraid to bring up anything unusual you see or hear. ”

[DLN-002-02 Roll Light]

DCN-002 was walking alongside Ciel, listening quietly as she spoke and greetings Zero and Protoman with an enthusiastic “Hi big brothers~! I'm here to help search. ...And clean anything we bring back. Are we splitting up or sticking together?” she asked. However, the morbidity of this place wasn't lost on her. She moved to take Ciel's hand, holding it for comfort. After a moment, she decided to do as Ciel said and speak up about something. “...Mom? Is it unusual to feel pain you enter a place like this?” she timidly asked, not having a firm enough understanding of emotions to understand what exactly about this place was bothering her or how to better describe what she was feeling.

Another red beam of light shot down from the sky, it impacting the surface of the area as out of it came a girl who hold her hand on the ground for a second... until she realized where the teleporter beamed her down was not exactly on stable ground as her arms waved in the air before she landed on her bottom. "... I wasn't expecting it to be this bad..." Roll commented, looking down at the sights. The amount of discarded robots and the like... Was not something she enjoyed seeing. A lot of her work was helping take care of others, which was something she still loved to do... So a sight like this was extra heartbreaking.

"... Yeah it is, sis," Roll said solemnly as she picked herself up and balanced herself with her broom. Fortunately she was still relatively clean as she took a hand to dust the snow off. "Sorry I took so long, Mom, Big Brothers, sis," Roll apologized before going to move. "I think it's best we start... looking for what Dr. Hikari needs. Spending too much time out here might not be a good idea."

What they need to find was not exactly comforting but she was sure it was for a good reason. The last time spent in this robot wastes though the better....

As the party spoke with each other the wind began to die down, drawing the area around them into an almost eerie quiet. For a few moments, the world would remain like this, The snowfall having ceased alongside the wind. Even the party had seemingly stopped, even if they weren't wholly aware of it. It was almost as if the scrapyard had been frozen in time, albeit for a brief moment.

The Scrapyard was actually rather beautiful in a sense. If one could cut the obvious humanoid faces attached to the scrap nearby that is. What light that pierced through the eternally dark sky causing the ice that had formed to glean and glisten. Sparkling like fine diamonds when a bright enough light struck them. However one couldn't ignore the truth. This place... was a graveyard and the party a group of veritable robbers, hoping to retrieve something useful from the long dead.

Suddenly the group would hear what could only be described as a cacophony of raw noise. The snow falling harder than ever as the wind picked up. Blowing more snow into the air and uncovering several rusted down bodies. The winter wasteland coming to "life" once more with a symphony of horrid sounds. The sheer volume of which made it near impossible for anyone to pick out what was coming from where as they mixed together into what sounded like a haunting scream.

[Doctor Ciel]

Ciel paused for a moment. Much as she resented this place's existence, it was out of her control. She'd just have to... bear through it. Not a problem. She was intimately familiar with that feeling.

Ciel shuddered at the noise. It was enough to make her feel a bit light-headed and lose some of her focus, a part of her mind drifting elsewhere.

“...Oh, good. Thanks, Sissy~ I was worried I might be malfunctioning for a moment there!” DCN-002 replied in a tone of relief. Though she'd admitted to feeling pain here, she seemed to be all smiles. “Right, let's get going. You never know what sort of--Eee!!”

The noise nearly made DCN-002 jump out of her boots by the looks of it, the frightened robot quickly retreating to her mother and clinging to her belly, half vanishing amongst Ciel's coat. She was shaking with fright, at least until Ciel wrapped an arm around her and held her in a comforting embrace, keeping her other arm free in the event that her other daughter needed it whilst attempting to soothe the one who already did.

"Hm?" Zero would look up with determination, motioning a open hand to get the group to stop moving or speaking if they were, as Zero closed his eyes, and took hold of his Z-saber on his back as he listened...

As everyone arrived Protoman would debate their choices as to where everyone should go first. Zero mentioned the possibility of enemies in the factory and how dangerous the slope could be. "The lake does sound like the safest option for sure but if we are looking for parts wouldn't it be more beneficial to check the factory?" After asking that Protoman's ears picked up a strange sound. He would listen to check what it was.

It was the sound of a haunting scream of sorts and it was enough to get Roll jumping in fear but it did not scare him nor Zero. Though Zero seemed pretty determined to find out what that was as he told Protoman to give them shield coverage. "Righto just get behind me." he would say simply as he went in front of the group and held out his shield to not only block some of the incoming wind but also any attacks that may come at them by surprise.
