And for the better!
I have been working diligently and quietly behind the scenes with our amazing coder and longtime site veteran and staffer Cielmira and because of her second to none coding abilities and my late night photoshop binges we have worked together to give you TWO NEW AMAZING SKINS!(Mostly her doing the harder work though THANK YOU CIEL!!!! <3 say thank you to her when you can!)
These skins were specially made to be more sleek and interface friendly and to keep up with the updated looks and navigational changes our competitor sites have been utilizing over the years.
The new trend PlayByPost sites and RP forums have been blossoming with the JcInk brand of site creation. Sadly having proboards puts us a little behind the times and not have the ability to do some of the things that site maker can, BUT, because me and Ciel have creative coding and graphical minds WE GOT PRETTY DARN CLOSE! Here are the highlights of what these skins have:
-There are TWO new skins. One new brighter skin for those that need that adjustment called SSB: Blue Blush which is a cloud and sky based skin representing airships and floating battlegrounds with hues of blue, purple, and cream colors; for the Nintendo fans that like happy happy joy joy stuff. And pretty colors! It is replacing the outdated and much less pretty Life Sphere Sleek Skin.
The second skin is a dark skin for those with eyes that can't handle brightness. It is called SSB: Burning Life, for those Nintendo fans that enjoy the dark side of things. With thematical tendencies of the Starvia enemies and hues of that classic Smash Bros Red, black, grey, and fire orange colors, it's perfect for the hardcore villain lovers and those deeply into dramatic story driven themes.
-Each of these skins also come with "New Post" and "Old Post" buttons. Blue Blush has an airship representing the icons of new and old posts. The Burning Life Skin has a cleaner, sharper version of the "Li" abbreviation which can similarly be found on one of our older Starvia skins except a bit remastered so to speak.
-Both skins also feature a Master Hand and Crazy Hand icon combo. There are several variations and all are meant to mesh with our story and site feel much better. We have new "Hand" icons for NEW and OLD thread icons within our board categories and areas, fresh icons for pinned, closed, and IMPORTANT topics, and also, more space and organization created between threads and categories so the eyes can find things a bit quicker and meant to see easier.
-Each area and category of the forum also has new title bars! Big, bold, thematically enhanced graphics to represent each area of Li and show off some kick butt new sleek looks to not only create impressive displays for our potential new members and lookie loos but also give those that are more visually enticed rather than text diving readers more of a carrot to dangle to get them to click around. Both new skins come with their own unique title bars! Pick which skin works for your eyes and your taste!
-Each new skin comes with a new banner. Each new banner has been custom fitted at the header of the site for more width and heighth to give a bigger "hello we rock and aren't we pretty" vibe to the guests that eyeball our site. Each banner also matches the color theme of its skin respectively. Art is wonderful isn't it? Things make sense when they blend together!
-The mini profiles have been updated and reorganized for a cleaner and more easily accessible look.Fancy!
-New rank icons have been added and updated to each and every member and staff rank by post count and category in the Admin CP, DIG THOSE PURDY SHINE SPRITES and LOVE those master hand prestigious icons for our admins!
-The bottom of the forum with our user icons and info center has been cleaned up a bit and reorganized so it fits in a more compartmentalized space and our forum stats are more easily seen!
-The Side Bar has been cleaned up a bit and reorganized so each section isn't so cluttered.
-Signatures on posts have been changed so they are more separated and in their own artistic space on each post. Avatar size has also been changed to fit bigger avatars and look bigger in posts. And if you haven't noticed the default avatars and default user icons have been changed too ^_^
No feelings will be hurt if you despise the new look(s), the theme changer button at the bottom right of the site is still yours to utilize and partake in those classic themes as much as you'd like, they have all been left alone except for Life Sphere Sleek, the Infected and Starvia Rage themes may be deleted at some point, but not yet. If you have trouble figuring out the theme changer PM a staffer and we can help you through it. Other notable perks the site will and is continuing to get:
-We remain ad-free. I am looking into buying more premium features to the site at some point which will allow us to do more in the future such as more site space, more interface options, and ways to help us generate more site traffic as well as make us more mobile friendly.
-Advertising efforts continue, but we are on the lookout for more "TOP VOTING" sites to get involved with so please let me know if you find any good ones we can add to our list.
-Revamping and easier access at least for the admins in the admin CP to see whos online stats better and now we can see visitor traffic by the numbers and through graphing options and really crunch data on how weve been doing as a site. Members can now also see whos viewing their threads and categories as their mini profiles not only say whether their online or not but their icons appear if they are browsing the same areas as you on the board.
-Text styles and font sizes have been cleaned up a bit all over the forum as well.
-Old topics and ancient threads will be cleaned and moved accordingly.
-Finally, the plugin for the sidebar and the theme changer plugin has been updated appropriately with the correct names of the themes and up to date side bar goodness.
