The Mid-summer sun beat down upon the Brightwing Lane as though it were the scornful rays of foes slain. Folks, still recovering from the famine that the Comet had caused, paced idly as their homes remain closed from the threat of these new beasts taking shelter in their back yards and in the open fields behind them. Construction sites remain hollow and haunted, incapable of working with the yellow tape spelling their death. One can still hear the idle pattering of many legged enemies roaming free in the back areas of this place. Radscorpions. These dastardly fiends were reminders that life wasn't as bad as it could be. This place was clear of radiation at least. The green yards were half-ripped open by large, conical mounds in which these creatures called their homes. 

Courier Six, as it were, was en route to find a residence somewhere to put a loan down for. He had the caps, a few thousand, but when stopped by an officer toad that fateful day, learned that a few pests from his home were in need of controlling. Culling, so to speak. Pip-Boy updated, guns loaded, and penchant for bloodshed focused, the Courier stood, facing the mounds in the distance, already mentally plotting a course. He kept a hand on his revolver, only moving to adjust that rifle on his back. The Courier kept quiet, but his description matched that of the others' ally, and wayfinder in this mission.

It was a day like any other really as the sun shone down onto the hard pavement of the Brightwing Lane. This of course was not really a certain man's concern as he trod down the path leading up to the area where the pests where making their way through the yards of many of a home there. "I know I'm not pest control but I think even I can handle a few dumb scorpions." Joe said as he walked over the officer and over to where Courier Six was. "Yo what's up?" Joe would ask the man who was to be his ally on this mission. 
"Sweet outfit you got there man. I imagine it isn't anything you can buy at a thrift store is it? Anyways I'm Joe. I'm here to help with this little pest problem we got here." 

Of course Joe looked more like an ordinary citizen at first glance and the officer almost stepped in to get him back out of the way. Well he would have if not for Joe stepping out of the way of him. "I think you need to chill out there mushroom dude. I'm part of the pest control here. I'm just not in my hero costume is all." Joe said as he looked onward to see the holes in the ground being dug up and dirt coming from them. "Whoa these aren't any normal bugs are they? Lets make sure we get rid of them fast then cool masked dude!" he would say as he stood beside Courier Six.

[Dragon Knight Volga]

Volga was unfazed by the summer heat as he flew towards the place where he was to meet the person organizing this mission. After being chased by an eldritch abomination in an alternate universe, he was unfazed by the idea of exterminating bugs in the heat. If anything, the heat would simply make it easier for the Dragon Knight to roast the scorpions. Volga soon spotted his comrades and landed nearby. He waited silently for their job to begin.

The summer had never been Soma's favorite season. He's always been somewhat pale, and as a result he's always burned easily. But, in this case, it was a necessity to expose himself to the heat. And, because it was the most durable thing he had on hand, he had to come in his coat. Sure, he was somewhat durable thanks to his excursions to fight the forces of darkness, but it certainly still wasn't pleasant. He wiped sweat from his brow and took a drink of his bottle of water as he trecked to his destination. He had a fight to take care of.

Ah, there were the people he was working with. Good. A... Somewhat small man who looked like he would much rather be off watching a movie or something, a knight, and... A gasmasked man in body armor and a trenchcoat. Huh. Well, at least this would be a somewhat interesting mission.

"Hello there, I'm Soma Cruz. Let's get this over with quickly, I hope? I'm sure the citizens would like their apartments back as soon as possible." Time to rock.

"Alright folks, we're all here. Lowdown's this - We got big scorpions roaming about in these burrows here. The trick is to kill as many as we can, and drop some dynamite we have stashed around into the nests. That'll cave the insides. We get a bonus for depleting the nests before caving them in. We got medics standing by to patch us up between these waves. Think we can handle it? If not, too bad, we're headin' out."

Six takes long strides forward as he stepped right through that side-yard into the back of the first apartment complex. The stench of insect-refuse and what seemed to be rotting meat had hit the group, most likely. Not Six, thanks to his helmet. Of course, what greeted the group was a gaggle of scorpions that began to crawl out from beneath the ground. They weren't any ordinary ones, at that, massive beasts with long stingers. Of course, the group had the jump on them!
(Allies gain the initiative! Enemies will attack next turn, if possible! Rolls of 10 or higher are considered automatic hits!)

Six, of course, doubles back near the fence, and drew his revolver. The blinding movement was a blur, and the first shot came out nearly as quick as his hand. These things were capable of taking a beating, so he knew this was to hopefully draw its ire. The stunned insects seemed to tense up and scatter at the first shot. These huge beasts were needing someone to put them down..!

He raised his arm, and fired another two shots! Six was aiming true, quick breaths in and out, each outward breath was another pull of that trigger with his deadly focus. Six wasn't given to letting anyone match his draw, or his aim. All he needed was clear line of sight, and a good, steady arm to keep himself going. Pressure wasn't an issue.

(...Alright, so that first .44 Shot was a crit, dealing 27% damage, the other was just a normal hit dealing 18% damage. Which killed the first Radscorpion. Oops.)

The first Radscorpion was struck with all three bullets, curling up as it fell back, and laying motionless on the ground as the browned lawn was stained green-blue with its blood. Six was getting ready to fire more, but the others had best make their move quick, else they miss their chance to get in on this action.

"Whoa dude those things are nasty looking!" Joe looked back at the huge scorpions as one of them was already shot dead by their leader Six. It wasn't too strange to see someone take out a large bug like creature like that easily but this meant that Joe could help much easier with this! "Time to show these bugs the awesome moves of my Red Hot spirit!" 
Joe backs up before holding out his thumb, middle finger and pink out in a stance for transformation!

"Henshin A Go Go Baby!" Joe would cry out as his V watch sprouted a large V from it and spun around before Joe's body was covered in darkness then the head crest that was the V landed on Joe's helmet as glowing white eyes emerged from the darkness showing the now transformed Joe in the same pose with an explosion behind him upon completion and struck a few poses afterward. 




"Viewtiful Joe is ready to rock!" Joe would say with confidence.

"Lets go Mach Speed!" Joe said as he charged at one of the Radscorpions with a large burst of speed.

Mach Speed would likely miss as the move would do 15% total due to the combo effect if the first blow hit. 

"I'm not done yet!" Joe turned around then aimed back at the same Radscorpion with a burning aura coming off of him.

"Red Hot Kick!" he would say as he shot forward with a flaming kick at the Radscorpion.

Joe then took a step back as he produced a light pink bomb from under his feet and started to juggle it with his feet like a soccer ball before kicking it toward the same Radscrorpion. 

"Have a taste of my Shocking Pink!" Joe would say as he kicked the bomb towards the bug.

"I think I have done enough for now. Lets see what you got there Volga and Soma." Joe would say as he struck another pose with a smile.

Volga glanced at Six and Joe before attacking a Radscorpion himself. He unleashed a jet of flames from his mouth at the over-sized bug.

However, this was not the most effective attack, so he decided to follow it up by charging at the same Radscorpion with his Dragon Spear.

The Dragon Knight was not satisfied with this and struck at the Radscorpion, his arm turning into a dragon's claw as he did so.

Soma listened carefully to 6's explanation, and nodded. "Alright, then. It would be advisable to deplete the nest anyway, to avoid a future encroachment. Let's get to work." He followed along as 6 guided them to the first attack, prepared for things to get messy quickly. He had a bad feeling about all this, but since when didn't he? He reached for his own gun as 6 fired away, and that's when he saw Jo step into action. ... He didn't even think to act he was so positively stunned by what he was witnessing. It was just so... RIDICULOUS! Granted he had done plenty of ludicrous things in the past, but it was like watching some kid's show out of Japan.

And of course, Volga tacking on wasn't much better. Apparently he was working with a Dragon knight. Today was going to be an odd one, to be sure. Oh, he was being told to get to work. "R-Right."

Regaining his composure, Soma reached into is coat, and withdrew his Silver Handgun, firing 3 times at the nearest Rad-Scorpion, hoping it would go down from just 3 shots.

His aim was slightly shakey. He had been too thrown by the strange abilities two of his companions had. Shaking his head, he growled slightly to himself. Stupid, stupid stupid stupid. He couldn't let that one stand. He threw his coat open and to the side, a dark flaming orb of chaos appearing and launching towards the scorpion.
