.Hack rules discrepency and it's resolution

So, those of you who know what a .Hack is are probably aware that the series has been treated as being ligal for a very long time now, having had a presence on the site before most of our current staff team, including myself, were even members. We have people playing characters from the series and an item from the series in our Item Index. Unfortunately, .Hack does not actually meet the requirements to be ligal.
.Hack's anime came out before its game. According to the rules, it should not be ligal. However, for a time the argument was made that since they were released in close proximity, and were clearly in development around the same times, such that it was obvious the franchise was intended to be both a game and an anime from the beginning, that was close enough and so it remained ligal. However... that argment doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. You could make that same argument to suggest that Shrek should be ligal, and you would probably be right. This became an issue when other illigal series with close anime/game launches showed up on Li and we weren't able to reach a consensus about what to do about them due to the precedent .Hack set. And unfortunately, we weren't able to come up with a better argument for why .Hack is more deserving of this treatment than any other series.
Therefore... Going forward, .Hack will no longer be considered ligal. However, because we feel we've dropped the ball on this issue we've decided to also bite the bullet and allow everyone who currently plays a .Hack character to keep them. They will be treated as exceptions to the rule, lasting for as long as their player continues wanting to play them. And threads involving these characters will have the unique freedom to use .Hack content on-site without invoking the scrutiny of a lorekeeper. However, new members will not be able to app new .Hack characters and items from the series will be retired from the item index, such that they can no longer be obtained. All one of them. The Twilight Bracer item shall be recorded here so that their mechanics aren't lost for those who already have them. However, they will be removed from the item index shortly after this announcement.

This item bestows the user with 3 Data Drain Charges and is rendered useless once all charges are expended. These shots are capable of doing significant damage to the opponent on the receiving end of this item's attack. (20% damage)
