The sun shone down on the Brightwing Lane, a day of peace and quite within the Life Sphere. Citizens had few opportunities to relax and unwind during the hectic struggles for survival, but today some folk could be seen walking their Lillipups and Houndours down the street. Others played merrily in the streets, knowing that one day the Life Sphere may fall, but it was not this day! What better time to rejoice.
There was a sudden stir though. The citizens could hear a loud crashing sound arising from within one of the nearby apartment complexes. Some immediately switched directions and steadily speed walked their way out of the area knowing full well what some people within the Life Sphere were capable of. Others looked on with curiosity, the rustling becoming louder and more prevalent. That is, until one of the walls burst open, wood and brick scattering along the street as two humanoid figures erupted through. The metallic one clearly had the other within its grasp, like it tackled its foe straight through the wall.
The citizens scattered, wanting to avoid getting caught in the crossfire. The duo crashed into the ground, the masked one taking the brunt of the force while the metallic one was clearly in a dominating position. As the dust settled though, the Bisharp’s maroon armour was a bit clearer, as were his arm blades that he smashed forward, aiming for the ninja’s head.
A sudden jerk of Shade’s neck saved his cranium from getting pushed in, but his Pokemon’s strength vastly outweighed his own. The creature’s one arm was more than enough to pin him down, not to mention that his sturdy body prevented him from attacking any pressure points. He was nothing if not resourceful though. His arm’s movements were limited, but he was plenty capable of scrapping up a chunk of dirt from the ground and tossing it directly into Bisharp’s eyes.
The Pokemon recoiled, but refused to budge, knowing that if Shade slipped away he would instantly get the upper hand and he would have to go through the lengths of getting him back into such a position. Unfortunately though, that recoil was just enough to allow Shade to slip out of his grasp like he feared. The trainer rolled for safety, landing on his feet and sharply turning to face his Pokemon. He pulled a pokeball out.
Bisharp attempted to scuff the dirt out of his eye with his metal mitts, though it didn’t help much. Either way, the Pokemon suffered through the pain and kept its watery eyes open to observe his foe. He froze at the sight of the ball, suspecting that his master was to return him into stasis. Bisharp remained crouched, waiting for Shade’s next movement so that he could decide his own. The trainer tossed the ball directly at the Pokemon, but Bisharp could easily follow its movement, batting it away with the back of his mitt and returning to an upright position, proudly believing that he deflected his master’s attempt at imprisoning him.
A bright flash of light followed and the sound of a Pokemon escaping the device taught Bisharp quickly that the ball was not his own, but rather one of his allies being turned against him. The creature hastily looked back at the Volcarona looming over him and then back at Shade. “You need to be taught discipline” the trainer muttered.
The Volcarona often looked lifeless and robotic, but upon gazing at her opponent, she confusedly looked back to Shade. The look of his eye told the creature all she needed to know, but it didn’t make the situation any clearer to her. She didn’t question her trainer though, so her wings began to build up a furious flame.
