Backstory: x
Appearance:
History On Li: After the incident with the Subspace Emissary, life for Shadow, as well as everyone else, seemed to return to normal. Well, normal is never a good word to describe... well, anything about Shadow, but... it was more or less not perilous. Sonic would go off and have his adventures, and, for the most part, Shadow had stepped aside and allowed his rival to take the spotlight, leaving their planet's safety in his hands. Every once and a while, he would come along and check on the blue blur's progress from afar, but seeing as Sonic was doing such a... decent job anyway, Shadow didn't see the need to waste his efforts. True, Shadow would have handled things differently, and he frankly didn't agree with his thought process, but nonetheless, as long as he was ensuring Maria's wish was fulfilled, the Ultimate Lifeform was... um... would tolerate it.
That all changed when... it happened.
A massive disaster enveloped the entire planet, and everyone found themselves in the same situation they had been back in Subspace Emissary. Some were in an even worst state. Shadow was among those few who survived the disaster, and searched to find the whereabouts of said survivors. This, he decided, was not in event where he should sit idly to the side. His assistance would be required for this. He ended up coming across a protective "bubble," of some sort. Upon someone recognizing him,
The fact that he hadn't seen the likes of Rouge and Omega made him a bit concerned, but he would find someone he recognized: Sonic. Perhaps not the best set of circumstances, but at least he knew someone was okay. And from what he understood, it seemed as though he was making plans to help fix the situation. Huh. He was actually using his head for once... who would've thought?
Sonic's plan, though, wasn't something that Shadow could, even in the slightest sense, agree with. Sonic and Mario began arguing about the course of actions the should have taken. Mario wanted to gather a group together to stop this threat collectively, just as they had before. Sonic, on the other hand, wanted to take things into his own hands and destroy the entire planet. At first, Shadow saw the benefit in Sonic's point of view. Destroying the planet would be the quick and easy solution to the problem, getting everyone back to their lives as soon as possible. After all, it wasn't their planet, so what reason did they have to care?
However, thinking things through a little bit, Shadow began considering what kind of consequence this would have on their planet, as well as any other planets. Suddenly Sonic's idea didn't sound so great, as the destruction of Earth would keep her from keeping his promise he made to his friend Maria.
So Shadow decided to try and confront Sonic about this idea. It wasn't really Shadow's usual way of doing things, since the two had learned to let each other have their way as far as their own actions went, but this was a situation he simply couldn't stand aside and watch it play its course out. Shadow voiced his concern to Sonic, trying to give the hedgehog an implication that, perhaps, destroying the planet would have some form of unforeseen consequences. As most people probably would try to reassure Shadow that it simply couldn't be a possibility, Sonic flat out ignored his rival's concern.
That wasn't to say that he didn't try reassuring... he just did a terrible job.
Much like they always had, Sonic and Shadow bickered and fought about this, but it was quite the bitter fight. Ironically, Shadow was now the one in favor of the planet's safety, while Sonic was the one who wanted its destruction. No matter what the other said, each stood firmly, and stubbornly, to their own side. This was the worst fight the two had in years. They spat out words, threw threats, and finally decided that this could only be decided through a battle. And so the two fought. Sonic and Shadow fought for hours, throwing aggressive jabs and projectiles at each other. Neither one of them remembered being so angry with each other, and it only seemed to grow the more they fought.
Finally, Shadow had enough. He was so spitting mad at Sonic that he couldn't even look at the hedgehog, or even be in his general area anymore. Before the two could even finish the fight, Shadow simply shouted "Enough!" and vanished. Sonic must have taken that as a victory, because the hedgehog, to this day, refuses to see things Mario, or Shadow's, way.
That's not to say that Shadow agreed with Mario either, but he'd much rather go with Mario's idea than even consider Sonic's.
But no. For weeks, the progress was stagnating. There was nothing to be gained because of Mario's and Sonic's continuous bickering. Shadow had to put his foot down. He refused to simply sit idly by when something, anything could be done. The only thing Shadow could think about doing was, perhaps, find the source of the problem and destroy it without destroying the planet. This must have been something Sonic had considered, but for reasons Shadow couldn't fathom, Sonic only had interest in going the quickest route, disregarding the risks.
Regardless, finding the source of the problem was something Shadow suspected would be a daunting and difficult task. Shadow would need to keep his wits about him, and he would need all the power he could possibly muster in order to get to the bottom of this. First, he would need to find answers. Answers from those who were more aware of the situation at hand than he was. And so, his quest begins...
Primary Attacks (3)
Basic Atk 1: Spin Dash [DMG 7% Light Mele DEX] Shadow is capable of rolling himself into a spiky, protective ball and dashing at his foes like a tire. He isn't capable of jumping while spin dashing, but he is able to switch to a special attack once per turn. Using a special move doubles the cool down.
Basic Atk 2: Homing Attack [DMG 12% Medium DEX] Shadow is able to roll into a ball, jumping at his foe as he does so. This attack allows for a +1 roll modifier for the next attack used.
Basic Atk 3: Dash [DMG 15% Medium DEX] Shadow dashes head first at his opponents, ramming himself at full force into the foe. This attack has a staggering effect, meaning that if the attack misses, Shadow's next dodge roll decreases by -2. However, if the attack hits the opponent, that same affect happens to foe instead.
Black Tornado (Non-Damaging DEX): Shadow rolls up into a ball and spins around his foe at such a high speed it creates a small vortex of wind around them. If the attack is effective, the foe will be launched into the air and knocked into the ground. While this won’t exactly cause any damage, it will cause the foe to become stunned and sick due to the momentum. (This move has a 2 turn Cool Down.)
Special Attacks (4)
Special Atk 1: Environmental Weapons (DMG 3-7%, Light STR or DEX): Shadow is capable of using his environment to his advantage with this attack. Shadow takes a weapon from his terrain, which can be anything from a stop sign, to a literal pile of rocks. The type of weapon determines how strong the attack is, and whether it’s a STR or DEX attack. If the weapon requires Shadow to beat the enemy with, like a tree branch or a stop sign, then it will require STR. If it’s a type of weapon that you could throw at the enemy, like rocks or chunks of ice, it’s considered a DEX attack. Damage % of a weapon may be determined by a natural roll.
Special Atk 2: Samurai Sword: (DMG 22%, Heavy STR or DEX): Shadow wields a Katana that appears to be just the right size for him. While not impressive at first, Shadow’s Samurai Sword is not a weapon to be stifled with. The blade is able to send out a shock wave to damage foes from a distance as well as extend to up to two meters. While this makes Shadow himself look rather silly, the weapon itself may have a bit more of an edge all of a sudden. Depending on whether the sword is used as a melee weapon, or the shockwave is used, it could be considered an STR or a DEX attack. (1 turn Cool Down.)
Special Atk 3: Omochao Gun (DMG 26%, Heavy DEX): Shadow wields a… rather peculiar looking gun. The Omochao Gun takes the universal hatred of Omochao to the next level. Shooting out heads of Omochao at enemies may sound… well morbid in a silly sort of way, but there’s more to the weapon than that. The Omochao Gun is a bit more powerful than meets the eye, inflicting a fair amount of damage while also being capable of ricocheting either off the wall and back at the enemy or off one enemy and onto another. (3 turn Cool Down)
Heal Cannon (Standard Healing, CHA): Shadow can shoot this cannon at allies or at himself to regain health depending on the roll. The amount of health restored is based off of the 1d15+CHA. (3 turn Cool Down)
Spin Counter (DMG 1.5x % of attack received, DEX): Shadow’s spinning capabilities go beyond just attacking directly. Shadow is capable of spinning in one spot with enough speed to surround himself in a yellow aura. This speed is enough to send wind to cast an attack back at a foe instead of dodging. This could be physical attacks or projectiles, as Shadow is able to spin at this high speed in the blink of an eye. (3 turn Cooldown)
Frenzy (Only possible in places Shadow is affected by Inner Madness): When inflicted with Inner madness, a 1d100 dice must be rolled to determine what attack is used. Any of Shadow’s attacks can be rolled provided it isn’t on cooldown. Along with Shadow’s current move set, it is also possible for Shadow to use a Chaos Power in his frenzied state, though it is less likely. The determining rolls don’t have to be done all at once, but each one must be done before making the rolled attack. Furthermore, they must be done in the order in which the dice was rolled.
If Shadow has spent five turns in Frenzy or more, or he has used a Chaos attack, he will not attack in the next turn.
If Spin Dash is rolled, he can use all three actions for Spin Dash before rolling to determine the next attack.
Frenzy will not apply to Spin Counter due to its nature as an alternative to a dodge that occurs before attacks are chosen. As a result, Spin Counter will never be in the roster.
Exclusive moves to Frenzy:
- Chaos Spear (Heavy WIS 28 DMG): Shadow launches an extremely dangerous lightning bolt at his foe. This attack has a
10% chance of paralyzing the foe, and has a 3 turn cooldown.
- Chaos Blast (Heavy WIS 32 DMG): Shadow unleashes a massive wave of red energy at his foe. Unlike the one he uses in
his Super Form, this attack can only target one foe at a time, and is less powerful. However, in his normal form, The power of
this attack overwhelms Shadow into a 4 turn cooldown and 10% chance of Shadow being inflicted by Severe Exhaustion.
- Chaos Boost (WIS Non damaging): Chaos Boost does what you think it would: boost Shadow’s stats. For three turns
Shadow’s DEX and WIS are boosted by +2. It also gives Shadow a 5% damage increase for attacks affected by the DEX and WIS
stats. This attack has a 4 turn cooldown.
-Chaos Control (WIS Non damaging): Chaos Control inflicts the targeted foe with the Slow status. When this attack is
used, unless there’s a set amount of turns Shadow has to be under Inner Madness, Shadow will automatically snap out of
Frenzy. 3 turn cooldown.
Final Smash (1)
Super Shadow
Shadow's Super form allows him to fly around, and gives him the ability of one of three Chaos Powers: Chaos Control, Chaos Blast, or Chaos Rush. Chaos Control represents Shadow's good Aura, Chaos Blast represents Shadow's Dark aura, and Chaos Boost represents Shadow's neutral aura. Shadow can pick one of these three moves to use as Super Shadow depending on the circumstance, but the enemy he fights doesn't make a difference in his decision.
- Chaos Control inflicts a Slow stat on the enemy for 4 turns, which slows an enemy's movement a great deal for those said turns.
- Chaos Blast make 40% damage on his foes to attack all targets within its radius.
- Chaos Rush is an attack that can deal 60% damage on a single target, and unleashes a barrage of blows to said foe.
Upon using any of these techniques, Shadow will turn back to his normal form and have his Final Smash used up.
Other Info: Nothing.
