Hello all! Welcome to our (I think second) Advertising Contest! Yes, it is time for us to venture through the interwebz and put our name out there to pull in some more fresh meat new blood!
Of course, your work will not go unrecognized! Make sure to keep track of every site you post an advertisement on and keep a list of links below! Feel free to use the template provided or make your own if you want. The prizes are as followed:
Every 10 ads: 100 coins
Every 20 ads: 1 random item
Every 40 ads: 1 random rare item
The member with the most ads can choose between two rewards: an exclusive item or a free character slot.
The contest will run for 2 weeks, so October 13th will be the end date. Very spooky indeed!
Some things to note:
-Please follow other sites’ advertising rules (they’re usually kept in the same board as the advertisements).
-Please refrain from advertising on a site that another member already has (at least recently, its been months since we’ve advertised anywhere, so just do a brief search of the first page of First Links).
-Avoiding advertising on sites that clearly state themselves as being 18+ since our rules prohibit them from Linking Back on our site.
-If you don’t know how to advertise there is a tutorial below.

So, when advertising on another site you first need to find their ad boards, normally they are at the bottom of the forum. Some sites give the board fancy names, others its very blatantly named Advertisements. Normally it is easy to distinguish as they will normally have the sub-boards ‘First Link’ and ‘Link Back.’ If a site hasn’t put an ad in our First Link sub-board, then we don’t post in Link Back. Basically, you wouldn’t use Link Back unless you hopped directly from an ad in our First Link sub-board, don’t worry about scrolling through our entire First Link sub-board because often people aren’t that meticulous.
Once in the First Link sub-board, you can create a thread. Most if not all sites have guest-friendly ad boards, so you can post in them as a guest and not have to create an account on that board just to make an ad. Some forums also have a guest account for people to use when their site is not guest-friendly though, so you would just need to look at the ad rules for that site, they’re often pinned on the main ad board.
When you have the thread opened, all you need to do is grab one of the many lovely ad templates that Ciel and Shadow designed for us like… 4 years ago now. They’re still good to use. Depending on what type of website it is, it will use different code. We’re Proboards (ssblifeitself.proboards), so we would use our regular coding, but Invisionfree (invisionfree.com/ssblifeitself) (which I don’t think many people even use anymore) and JCink (ssblifeitself.jcink) use slightly different code. Always preview the ad before posting it just in case you grabbed the wrong template, or the site isn’t listed above any of the templates.
Then you create the post. Since you are a guest though, you will have to do those confirm you’re not a robot thing and if you do a lot of advertising in a short amount of time, you’ll often get more security questions.
