The game teeters too close to reality, and all fantastical events in the game are either non-canon or drug trips. As a guy whose played San Andreas and V only, I can't confirm for certain that the game series isn't entirely hyper realistic, but the majority of the fan-favorites and easily appable parts are obvious reality parallels.
