The hateful glow of the comet was shrouded behind the trees, the farmstead ahead was only barely visible from the thicket and the decrepit ruins therein. One could hear the groaning of a thousand bodies behind the brief weald, that small patch of dead trees, turned blue by the roots which sipped the unearthly power within the very ground. They were alive with deadly anger, something... evil. It was as if this very land was alive with the Comet's will, and whatever was beyond these old gates were ready and waiting for the encroaching team to approach. Perhaps those brave souls would be emboldened by this presence, or terrified.

Whatever the case was, the stage is set, and the people who signed their names to this suicide mission wouldn't be wise to abandon now, nor would they be foolish to step to the plate, in search of those shards to embolden their bodies and steel their tools of war, whatever they are.

"It landed right in Harvest Acres!" Arle exclaimed in disbelief. Her heart dropped into her stomach at the sight. In her heart, she knew it was too late. During a famine, a comet had struck the place the life sphere gets all its food from. The implications were dire. People were going to starve, and there wasn't a damn thing they could do to stop it. ...But they could at least prevent it from getting worse. Arle swallowed her anxiety and tried to shove the grim reality of their situation out of the way. Turning to the rest of their party, she looked them over. "Thanks for coming with me. Rulue. Schezo. ...Corrin. I think I saw movement up ahead. It might just be nothing since it didn't rush out to meet us, but I bet as we continue we'll start running into monsters or something." Arle warned, just kinda speculating as to the overtly ominous nature of the thicket before them. She leveled her golden staff at it. "Let's go kick some butt~!" Arle light-heartedly announced, bouncing forward to lead the way. ...Well someone had found her bravery.

"What!?"

Oh, not the food supply! Things on the Sphere have been very rough, and seeing this ominous grove before the Acres made it all the more dire. The food supply was effectively cut off or worse, ruined. If this place could spread, then someone needs to prune this place right away or it'll overrun the Sphere! Schezo is understandably worried, but he had to keep an unflappable front to sustain the team's morale. Panicking now would do no favors for the group at all. With the dark wizard, he has Arle leading the charge, with Rulue and Corrin by his sides. If Arle did see something move in there, then this place is very much alive, and not in a good way.

"That we shall, but keep your guard up as well."

In his hand, he has a ball of magic ready. It might be pretty rough in there, so he has Levia prepared and ready to pass to whomever needs it.

"This is a disaster..." was all the Corrin could muster in terms of the situation. There's no telling how badly such an event it'd affect the whole Life Sphere just yet, but it was obvious they'd have to step in if they want to avoid the problem to spread even further, which would only worsen the situation. "We should move quickly. We do not yet know how fast those crystals spread, however, we must stop it posthaste before it can do more damage." The King of Valla said.

"That, we should do indeed." Came the voice of Rulue, glancing at the opening leading to the farmstead. "...Truth be told, however, something feels...off about this. Well, more off than what is already happening. Can't really say what or why though." She commented with a frown. Whatever what they were up against, it sure as heck wasn't as simple as it looked or sounded. There had to be something more to it...surely...

The dirt churned and furled at their very feet when the bearer of the Yato and the blue haired woman arrived upon the farmstead. Clearly the arrival of four was not to be dismissed by the Comet. The very farmstead echoed out, blasting a massive shield around the outside of the Farmstead, catching the group inside it's malignant grasp. As for those inside, Corrin, Rulue, Arle, and Schezo, if they all four touched their palms to that barrier at once, they'd be transported away. For now, though, combat was upon them.

Or was it?

It seemed the benevolent light of the Comet shone down upon them, and all that stood before them was a floating, indestructible geode. How the team knew this, and whatever memories that had been supplanted by the eerie light of this place would affect them, was unclear. For now, the team would recognize this thing, as if they'd seen it a million times. She, since this was female, was a friend, an ally that rebelled against the Comet's light. The Dreamer's Nightmare. A benevolent shard of the malignant alien that crashed here who was bent on taking heroes across the ferries of time and space to help them fight the Comet. She knew these folks, the clinking of crystals speaking out their names in her own, made up language. She acknowledged Corrin, Arle, Schezo, and Rulue, Corrin especially, for some reason, it seemed to like more than the others. 

Clink tink tink clink shink tink! Clink clink tink tink clink shirnk tink tink... (I'm so glad you're all okay, especially you, corn buddy! I'm from the future, or... maybe the past? I don't know. Point is, I'm a friend. If you don't remember me, one of you called me the Dreamer's Nightmare. I really loved that name!.) The Dreamer's Nightmare began clinking at them. Somehow, through some madness in this light, the team would be able to understand her with perfect clarity. Tink think shrink tink clink...  Tink tink shirnk tink. (You all don't seem to recognize me anymore. The Dreamer is already rallying forces across time itself to fight us. I might have stumbled across you all in your first expedition again.) Dreamer? What was the Dreamer? Why was this thing its nightmare? Clink tink tink clink! Tink clink shirngle tinkgle tink tink... (I've got a good little hiding spot we can rest for a time before the Foremen and their legions of Farmhands show up, it'll sure show them. Ready or not, here... we... go!)

The Dreamer's Nightmare awaited, furled up, ready to teleport the team to a safe spot. At once, she billowed her fragmented body out, warping the team to a safe zone! It was clear that lady luck VERY much favored them today. Not many travelers would be able to say the same in this madness and morbid aspect of wild worlds...

The place, in truth, was in shambles, but the Dreamer's Nightmare seemed to have pulled the group away, rallying groans and shrill, bumpkin accented cries in the distance portrayed that DN indeed had used her powers to save them from certain doom. Now was the time to ask her questions, rest from the journey here, and gather their resolve. If the team felt their purses, pouches, pockets, pocket dimensions, or wherever they stored their items, they'd notice a small wealth of glittering shards. These were shards of the Comet, purified by The Dreamer's Nightmare for use in a special store. Seemed she really liked you all!

" . . . Pardon?" Arle asked, not grasping any of what the floating geode was on about. Before she could wrap her head around what was being said, Arle was whisked away to a safe place! She looked around, gathering all of their surroundings and confirming that everyone was still together. --Well, okay. As long as she still had her friends she didn't really care where they went. Thinking about it for a moment, she supposed making a rush for the big boss was arguably a better plan of action, so long as they didn't get flanked. "O...kay..." Arle hesitantly relented, seeming to ponder the implications of what had been said a moment ago for a bit longer before continuing.

"--Miss Nightmare? If you already tried helping us through this expedition before and now you're back here and it's the same as if you never did, how do you know the past-future you saw was real?" Arle curiously asked, just kinda casually tossing an existential crisis the dreamer's nightmare's way. "I did some reading about time travel in school, but it didn't really make a whole lot of sense to me. Also, how do we know a time paradox is possible? If we named you but then you traveled to the past and told us your name, causing us to call you that in the first place, shouldn't time be falling apart or something really bad like that right now if they are?" Arle ever so innocently asked, unleashing her inner nerd. Right in front of Rulue, too!

"Gah!"

The flash of light catches Schezo off-guard, averting his eyes from the shine. Once it cleared, a sentient geode thing floated before the team, introducing herself. Somehow. The sounds are definitely not words, but yet they resonate like true English vocabulary. Huh, is the stone formerly a female person? Whoever the previous incarnation was, Schezo has zero memories of such a person. Much less someone named "Dreamer's Nightmare." The dark wizard cocked his head to the side, unsure what to make of this information. If she's an ally, though, then things are starting off on the right foot, being taken to a safe spot of the forest. Only vaguely safe, though. The wreckage stirs concern, but if the group is hiding away in safety, then it'll do. Still though, the time-y nature of this situation is something that still eludes Schezo's comprehension.

"Unless it's a stable time loop, but that is a subject best described as a rabbit hole down to Wonderland."

...Let's hope this timey wimey babble doesn't fry Rulue's brain from confusion.

So, talk about an unexpected meeting. Rulue was certain enemies would swarm them, but they've been visited by a...sentient geode called Dreamer's Nightmare, coming from a... different time period, it seemed. Rulue was surprised how she managed to understand what it--er, she was saying. But regardless, the team was whisked to a safe zone and...well, now Arle and Schezo were babbling about time travel, time loops...y'know, because 'The Dreamer' or whatever the bad guy's named was apparently summoning forces from all over time.

"The Dreamer's Nightmare comes from a different reality than us, as such, they follow rules on time travel that were established in that reality, which probably doesn't include time falling apart because of it."  Rulue interjected. Hopefully, they wouldn't need to discuss this further, because this...really wasn't the appropriate time to have discussions like these. "...Could you tell us what you know about this Dreamer?" Rulue asked the sentient geode.


Corrin eyed DN curiously. Did she just call him 'corn buddy'? He wasn't a stranger to the 'nickname', but...what did he do that endeared him to the geode? ...Maybe it was best that he didn't ponder about it too much, lest the time traveling rules suddenly decide to rear in some ugly heads he may not know of. "We may have just met from different points in time, but I'm thankful you appeared to help us." The dragon boy spoke to the Dreamer's Nightmare. "Information about this threat would be very welcome, to be honest. It'd help a lot in constructing a strategy to counter whatever powers it may have."

 "Tink-a-dink tink! Tink clink tink tink!" (Rulue's correct, Arle. The timeloop here is kinda like a river.) "Tink dink tink clink..." (It's a shame, really. Stuck in this loop, I was once a gorgeous Shuggoth, but that darned Dreamer took my form!) "Shink shink tink tink shink tink! Tink tink... shink tink clink..." (I was Shub'Illurath, but... now I'm just the Dreamer's Nightmare. I... don't think I've told any of you that across the timescape. I'm hoping to overflow the river of time so it can finally progress. I... can't give you much information on the Dreamer. I've never... actually... made it that far. The Miller blocks the path, and... his very presence erects an impenetrable barrier around the Mill. If you can defeat him, go inside. Kill the Comet. Kill the Dreamer.)

The Dreamer's Nightmare, or Shub now, floated about. She seemed lost or dejected almost, like she was... sad. Regardless, the little thing wiggled a bit, exposing her crystalline core a moment before closing back up and turning around to the group. They were fortunate to come this far. Maybe she could give them a little more... Perhaps a worker to fight for them? No, that would reveal her presence to the Dreamer and end her. A torch benefit? Maybe she could summon something...  Aha!

Before the group was a single Farmhand, glowing green rather than blue like the comet. He swung his plow into the dirt, over and over, digging and tilling the soil. Dropping a piece of the Dreamer's Nightmare into the ground, and watering it with what looked like a bottle of blood, he grew the little crystal into a large spire. The huge, green spire opened like a doorway to the group.

"Tink clink." (Go through there. Good luck everyone. Stay safe.) "Tink tink clink." (Especially you, Corrin. You've got a whole family back home that needs you. Be the big brother your little sisters deserve. Arle.) "Tink Im a Racist! clink clink." (Give Satan hell for us all. Schezo.) "Tink... clink clink, tink clink tink shing." (Do your best. That's all I can say. Finally, Rulue.) "Tink tink, clink butt." What. How is BUTT THE ONLY WORD SHARED BY GEODES AND HUMANS?! (Kick some butt for us all.)

If the group proceeded, they would be greeted with the farmland...

The light shift and contorted in the next area, the degraded pumpkins and corpses of warriors piled high int a wheelbarrow. It was harrowing, for sure, but this place wasn't just a normal part of the Comet's glow. No...

p_1d6SPLENDOROUS!!!

The group would immediately be filled with confidence, and strength atop their own strength. Some really powerful luck was on their side today! The farmhands, Foremen, and other such corrupted creatures, even Redeads, Faceless, and even creatures like Rammits and Tanpens, all corrupted by the comet's eerie glow simply... backed off. A few farmhands took off their little hats and nodded to the others. This splendorous light was clearly freeing their minds, if only for a fleeting moment. One of the Foremen spoke...

"That there fella who hired us is ahead. The Miller. Not sure how much longer we got our minds back, ladies n gents, but... thank you fer comin' to save us from this dastardly comet. If... any of us turn, we all agreed. We'd be best off if ya trophified or killed us. We ain't no use nohow in our current forms to the Life Sphere. We beg ya... save us all."

The next area ahead reeked of blood, trophies of toads, lancers, soldiers, and all of the likes, even other farm warriors were found all around.

The windmill looms ominously in the eerie glow. Your team has trekked far, or skipped some waves, to get here. The stench of heavy death looms like a fog around your noses. In the worldly presence, one can see the entrance to the windmill, and the light noises of snoring rebound from the walls and floating chunks of the lost mill into the ears of your mind, or the equivalent. The Dreamer is below... You're so close now. Of course, this isn't without a challenge! Around you, and your friends, nothing for a thousand miles. This place is a deathtrap! Your team cannot retreat from this area until you beat the boss!

A virulent groan, an incorrigible and dastardly scream of pain and agony utters from what looks like one of the many stones, but... it stood! The Miller is now before you, brandishing his heavy scythe, ready to end your lives and send you back to the start! Defeat during this wave will not result in a trophification, but will instead send you out of the event altogether, forcing your team to regroup, rearm, and challenge from the very start!

"You... shouldn't... have come... HEEEREEE!" The Miller roars out to the team as he swirls that scythe over his head. His pivoting feet drag forward in an unearthly movement, one that broke his already phantasmal ribs and back, only to seal them together. The Miller swings his scythe down at the team, threatening to cut them all in one fell swoop unless they moved!

He wasn't even close to done. That colossal, eight foot tall miller swung his weapon upward, and brought it down to try and cleave the closest foe he could find. That one happened to be...

As the Miller backed up from his sudden assault, he drew his weapon upward, readying another strike. He leaped in at once with unprecedented power! His attack again reached across time and space, swinging at every opponent seemingly at once! The Dreamer favored this one obviously. It was unlikely that this was going to end well...

Corrin felt a little sting in his heart as the Dreamer's Nightmare mentioned his little sisters. Ah, yeah...he hasn't found a way back to his homeland yet. He felt a little homesick now, which he was aware, it was going to drag the team down. The dragon's expression shifted to regretful for a moment. "...I won't let you down." Corrin promised, wiping out a renegade tear falling out of his left eye. Gods, he missed them so much, both Hoshidan and Nohrian families. If only he could somehow contact them...

"Thanks for the help." Rulue stated, giving her a cordial bow and a knowing wink when the DN mentioned kicking butt for everyone. She was the first of them all to leave, beckoning the others to follow her outside. Once the entire group was outside, they'd not only be graced with a sudden burst of strength, but also a couple of the once corrupted farmers were brought back to sanity, if only for a little while. After some brief words of encouragement, the group went onward towards the windmill...

And then they encountered the abomination known as the Miller.

The once human being charged at them wildly, attempting to attack them with his disembodied scythe...

Corrin decided to not take any chances any tank the assault as he enveloped himself in a white shield. However, the Miller's attacks were unexpectedly brutal-er than expected, and by the point the second Reaping came along, the shield broke, leaving Corrin to deal with residue damage. As Corrin brought himself back up with the help of his blade, he felt a burning pain swell in his chest. Despite this, he still brought himself to get back into the fray. His Yato began to glow a bright green. "Please, legendary Yato, use my dragon blood to shield my allies!" He pleaded to his blade as the green aura exploded in a ring that covered the battleground. Corrin's allies would feel a bit more durable after the aura went through them.

After this, the dragon scion made his left hand transform into a monstrous jaw that was charging a...water ball? That ball was kinda jolting with lightning, actually. Corrin shot the nasty water projectile at the Miller, and moments later he jumped towards the Miller, the monster jaw looking eager to snack into some monsters.

Corrin sidestepped away from the Miller as his left hand returned to normal. From...somewhere, he pulled out a red tome, and began charging a spell. The runes started to appear, covering the Valla king....

Meanwhile, Rulue had an easier time blocking the Miller's assault, but she mostly got away with it because she wasn't being targeted thrice and also due to a little help from the aforementioned Crux of Fate. Once she brought the shield down, her guns were up. And by guns, I meant her FISTS. She started simple with her favorite move, the rock breaker punch. Or as most people would know it as..."Haganshou!"

"Now have some of this!" Rulue exclaimed as she began charging up ki on her hands. Once she had charged up enough, she'd blast the Miller with a Power Wave! But the Fighting Queen wasn't exactly done yet, because after the ki beam, Rulue dashed towards the foe with the intention of delivering another powerful punch.

Shub, huh? A being bordering nonexistence because of a stolen identity...And with so little information of the threat at hand...This is going to be rough. A farmhand, glowing eerie green was summoned, planting a path towards higher ground. Moving onward, he silently nodded at the geode, the little words of encouragement he got still enough to steel himself for the battles ahead. And there it was, the field corrupt by the comet's influence. It even reeks of fallen warriors. And yet... there's a sense of confidence that defies the blightful air. He feels...empowered. The aura even caused what should've been hostile stand down! Schezo was puzzled, but he isn't going to complain. He nodded towards the pacified Foreman, still holding fast to his duty.

Time to move on--P.U.!--It reeks even more of death! It's not the wasteland out of the Sphere, but it has the similar atmosphere. They were getting close to heart of it, but somethng felt off. He turned behind him and...there was nothing there. Looks like there was no turning back from the Miller, who was already rearing to reap away at the quartet! Schezo raised his sword, evoking his shields to ward off both of the reaping attacks!

Shields: 55 > 30 > 5 > 0 (BREAK!)

However, in doing so, Schezo has already blown his defenses on the first guy the group encounters, the bubble shattering on disarm as opposed to dissipating. Oh dear, if this is how it begins, he needs to be much more careful from then on, even with the rally tempering his body a bit.

"Corrin!"

He couldn't help but express concern, who doesn't look too well in spite of sanding on his feet. But it was time to draw his sword. He pointed the dark sword at the Miller, attempting to weaken his defenses with his dark magic.

"Lwark Void!"

Following that, he took out an aqua-covered tome with his free hand. He flipped open its cover, letting its enchanted pages conjure up torrential blades that home in on the Miller...

Then followed up by sniping from afar with the sword again, shooting a storm of blades from the tip. He kept to Corrin's side for safety, as he is rather aware Bolganone takes a bit more time to prepare.

Arle quickly remembered why she hated the topic of time travel. Instead of answering her questions, she'd merely gotten excuses as to why time didn't make sense. Almost as if time conveniently and fundamentally changed to suit the needs of some higher power. If only her skeleton were a bit more motivated, maybe she'd be able to take advantage of that knowledge. As it stood though, she regretted asking. Moving forward though, she quickly dismissed the thought. It didn't matter. It never mattered. Their own strength would be what got them through this. 

"--Oh... Yeah. Don't worry. We'll give the miller a beating he won't forget~" Arle eagerly reassured the oddly freed... creatures. Soon enough though, they entered a rather creepy area that made Arle's skin crawl. They were confronted by The Miller, and Arle found herself being attacked by a heavily telegraphed scythe!

"You shouldn't have brought a broken scyyyythe~" Arle remarked in her best 'spooky ghost' voice, mocking the miller's choice of weaponry. With a roll of her hand, she conjured up a pretty pink magical heart-shaped bubble and sent it racing out to meet The Miller! it would violently pop after a few moments, the sparkles within it lingering for a few moments before dissipating entirely.

Far from playing it defensive though, she quickly began incanting a new attack to take advantage of it! "M-Mind Blast!!" Arle incanted, a wave of thought blasting out to attack The Miller mentally!

The barrage of attacks was far too many for the Miller to account for. A near dozen to be precise!

The first hits of the Dragon Fang blasts were staggering to the mighty beast, having him dig his scythe down into the mud, corpses strewn up from the earth as he was blasted backward from the initial impacts. Next was Rulue's high intensity combos, which served to chip and blow off a few of his ribs! The power wave actually caused him to cry out in agony as he was forced to dig his tool of death into the earth, ricocheting back again and trying to charge once more, only for Schezo's powerful blows to finally come hurdling in!

Unfortunately for the massive target, he was far too slow for any one countermeasure or simple movement. The Miller looked to be on his last legs, but he had a few more tricks up his sleeve..! Already he was critical, bleeding out and oozing onto the ground, blue blood sickeningly dripping to the earth's corrupted state. He raised his scythe high, waving it around and screaming in agony again, the ear piercing shriek causing the denizens of the mill and those buried underground to come from the earth like true zombies.

THE MILLER HAS ISSUED A RALLYING CRY! ENEMIES HAVE COME TO HIS AID!

The Miller's call to arms caused three farmhands to raise slowly from the twisted soil, his breath causing one to solidify entirely, frozen!

Finally, the sluggish other two began their arduous advances on the quartet of heroes. Firstly, Arle was the Ire of Farmhand 1, who swung his plow down with angry indignation. It seemed like with the Miller present, they were going all out!

Finally, the Miller got his action in, by eating part of the Frozen Farmhand! The disgusting rattling and crunching of the bones and stone under his buckteeth and crooked grimace cased the frozen creature to scream as well, filling the wailing farmlands with more unearthly groans and screams.

While The Miller started with a rather formidable assault, the team fought back with more vigor. Sure, it took a bic chunk of defensive maneuvers to withstand the blow, but seeing the foe reel in pain, close to falling apart, couldn't help but leave a grin on his face. Of course, it's still not...well..defeated. Three farmhands matrerialized, quickly wiping the smug look on his face as now numbers have come in. One of them is targeting Schezo, and he is left without his barrier to fend for himself.

...not that he needed it anyhow. The swipe was far too slow to even come close to the dark wizard, stepping back with no problem. The other problem, however, was the more chilly-looking one. That one seems to be rather rather important, as is the other flunkies trying to swipe at Arle...and The Miller feeding on one of the farmhands. That is not a sight he wanted to see...

With what, perhaps? Why, his trusted dark magic, of course. Raising his hand to channel his dark magic, a familiar rune forms under the feet of the Farmhands. With a clench of his fist, he unleashes a deluge of dark magic blades!
