The hateful glow of the comet was shrouded behind the trees, the farmstead ahead was only barely visible from the thicket and the decrepit ruins therein. One could hear the groaning of a thousand bodies behind the brief weald, that small patch of dead trees, turned blue by the roots which sipped the unearthly power within the very ground. They were alive with deadly anger, something... evil. It was as if this very land was alive with the Comet's will, and whatever was beyond these old gates were ready and waiting for the encroaching team to approach. Perhaps those brave souls would be emboldened by this presence, or terrified.

Whatever the case was, the stage is set, and the people who signed their names to this suicide mission wouldn't be wise to abandon now, nor would they be foolish to step to the plate, in search of those shards to embolden their bodies and steel their tools of war, whatever they are.

"Ami..? I want you to have these. --Just for tonight. Even if I can't be there, it'd make me feel a lot better knowing it was with you, just for that chance it might help you come home safely."

A familiar pouch was opened up and several items were given to Amitie. Raffina would be staying safe at the Magical Girl's Society lodge, making sure all of the weaker heroes were well protected there and taken care of while Peach was out. Amitie had been promised cookies whenever she returned. ...Could Raffina cook? Well she had time to learn. It would take days before the girls could return. Possibly even more than a week! Who knew?

The Toadstool Royal Family stood at the precipe of a very evil place, hand in hand. Peach, clad in her nicest dress as always, stood holding Amitie's hand reassuringly. She was watching the thicket ahead carefully, a rather stern look on her face. Her delicately painted lips lacked their usually pleasant smile. She could tell there was an imminent threat in the area. Nearby, Shin!Arle was holding Lidelle's hand in a similar manner--only she might be the one seeking reassurance from her shorter companion. She didn't know why, but she was afraid. Fear was not an emotion she'd felt since the first few months she'd spent in the void. Paranoia? Anger? Upset? Sure. But fear? What was she afraid of? The darkness did not scare her. Neither did pain, or whatever terrifying creatures awaited. At least... not physical pain.

"Is everyone ready..? I fear we will likely have to fight any moment now. We're quite close..." Peach softly remarked, affectionately brushing her thumb across the back of Amitie's hand. She glanced over, and for a brief moment she flashed a familiarly sweet smile to the other. A last minute reminder that she was there for them. On the other side of the group, Shin!Arle passed Lidelle a weak smile of reassurance. She wasn't emotionally well, but she was fighting hard to better herself. Although the smile was weak, it somehow felt comfortingly familiar and genuine. Almost as if she'd seen it somewhere else before.

It looked a lot like the blue Arle's smile.

"I'm ready if Lidelle and Amitie are..." Shin!Arle very softly offered. Peach couldn't help but eye Shin!Arle in wonder. She'd picked up on how close they'd gotten. It was the reason she had wanted to entrust Shin!Arle to Lidelle in the first place. She wondered if perhaps their relationship had changed its dynamic since then, but declined to ask. She assumed it would become apparent soon enough if that were the case. She needed to keep an eye out for approaching enemies, anyway. After giving them both a moment, she began leading the way forward. Time to save the Life Sphere.

Amitie couldn't help but feel a rising sense of dread within her. She hasn't even seen the horrors that were the current talk 0f the town, but whatever that was, it sure had a...frightening presence, one unlike anything she had ever seen. Amitie didn't come with her usual radiant smile, in fact, she was kind of quivering as they approached the entrance.

Lidelle was trying to not look as scared, but one could tell she was just as frightened as her older sister. She held Shin!Arle's hand tight, attempting to partake in the same reassurance she was trying to give the other. However, despite the fear they both displayed, they wouldn't turn back. Not now. Not when the Life Sphere's in danger!

"I'm...I'm as ready as I can be." Amitie replied. "As long as we're together, I think we can do something against...whatever the heck's beyond there!" She attempted to encourage the rest of the team (and herself), raising a fist up and letting out a trembling smile. "Y-yeah...! L-let's try to keep a positive attitude here...!" Lidelle attempted to encourage alongside Amitie. Truth be told, they were feeling a bit better after that cheer. Juuust a bit.

The girls had every right to be afraid, these women were braver than most of the others in Life Sphere, no person, no woman or man, was to do this before, not until they might gaze to the ground. There were tracks that mysteriously vanished beyond this point. An unearthly groan cried across the Farmstead, a huge, clamoring echo that sealed the Farmstead in a protective bubble. If the group wanted to retreat, they could simply touch that bubble at any time, and when all four did, they'd vanish. As the dossier on this place stated, and the toads therein. It was noted while they seemed to emerge instantly, the Toads who claimed to be in there for years came out much older. Time itself was torn apart in this place.

There wasn't much time to dwell, as the denizens of this corrupted hamlet, these rotting farmsteads, were already upon them! Three farmhands, a sentient scarecrow, and a foreman! The Foreman laughed hysterically, striking the whip in his hand, stony and brittle, to the back of one of the Farmhands, enraging the zombie like husk. "Hyah hah hah! Them toadies were good eatins! Lets all eat their princess, next, boys! I got dibs on her ribs and the lil green one, too!" The cannibalistic stone man taunted and screamed out, waving his whip in the air as the farmhands advanced. The Scarecrow dug its arms into the ground, roots rapidly advancing at Shin!Arle!  The two farmhands on the left, the ones free from the abuse of the Foreman, chased down after Peach swinging their plows wildly in a circle., and the last farmhand, buffed and angered, swung his hands out, throwing malignant crystals at Lidelle!

This meant that Amitie was free from attacks for now. The Foreman's wily grin was trained on her, though, breathing heavily as he watched the little pink dressed girl move. If she moved. "Hyeh heh heh..."

"--You're quite right, Amitie. Lidelle. Whatever it is, I'm certain we can handle it." Peach replied, putting on her best smile and holding herself tall for the group. She had to be their inspiration. Courage was not her strongest point, but having your daughters there with you was certainly as strong a motivator as she could have asked for. ...And then, a terrble laughter fell upon the group. "--Oh!" Peach blurted out in surprise, her eyes rising to meet the foreman. What met her ears shocked and offended her. Her free hand balled into a fist. "--How dare you?" Peach replied rather defensively, not taking kindly to the threat. She especially didn't like them singling out Lidelle like that. Y'know who else didn't like that? Me neither! Let's get back to Peach.

"The only people who will be eating anything tonight is us." Peach retorted leveling Perry at the foreman with an intent that really wasn't obvious unless you knew her personally, eyeing the farmhands as they approached her.

((As Peach's modifier is +2, the lowest she can roll is a 3. So I'm just going to skip her dodge rolls.))

With feminine grace, Peach lithely stepped forward so that Amitie would fall behind her and the farmhands wouldn't be able to get to her without getting past her first. She then rhythmically swung her hips and arched her back, bending away from each of the farmhand's swings like she was just dancing provocatively and just so happened to dodge their attacks in the process. However, once they'd both swung those hips kept on swinging. This time, they cam back with more force and she attempted to hip check the both of them away from her with an amount of force comically disproportionate to the attack's appearance. A burst of cute pink magical hearts flew forth with each impact.

She then set her eyes on the Foreman...

Oh, that's right! Shin!Arle really doesn't like when Lidelle gets singled out for harm. Right, riiight... What's she up to? Standing beside Lidelle, her eyes narrowed slightly at the remark and her grasp on Lidelle's hand tightened slightly. She was about to pull Lidelle closer to her when the feeling of a pair of roots creeping up her legs and wrapping around her thighs caught her attention.

...Shin!Arle's blood ran cold as ice as fear, an emotion previously lost to her, dug its fingers deep into her brain. It strangulated her mind, smothering every other thought until they were silent. At that moment, she saw without seeing, heard without hearing, and moved without thinking. A tendril of darkfire rose from from her body, rising into the air for a brief moment before abruptly and violently lunging like a snake ready to bite--right for the foreman.

The tendril was... not gentle. Its sharp tip would punch a football sized hole in the foreman, skewering him and wrapping around his body. It then drew him into the air... and viciously slammed him down into the ground, holding him to the rock and dirt and dragging him along the ground, ripping up the earth even worse than she was probably ripping up the foreman's body. The tendril dragged him riiiiight over to Peach's feet, where it stopped and abruptly retreated, leaving him on the ground in front of her. Shin!Arle's gaze then turned upon the scarecrow, who had made a mistake exactly none of those present could've known to avoid. "Chaos!" she incanted, sharp shards of purple ice manifesting themselves above her shoulders and flinging themselves at the scarecrow, attempting to embed themselves in it.

...Nearby, Peach caught a glance of what Shin!Arle was doing after being startled by the Foreman's brutal takedown. That unrestrained rage in her voice--in her eyes--in her actions. It had no place here before anyone had even gotten hurt. Where had it come from? Her concern was sidelined for the moment being when she picked back up on the foreman. Was... he still alive? "...I do hope you'll agree when I say it's time for a time out." Peach softly scolded, moving in and attempting to sweep the foreman up with Perry, attempting to finish him off with a bit of karmic justice!

Okay, sure, Shin!Arle and Peach were already pretty upset with the voiced intentions from the Foreman. But Amitie? Oh, she's absolutely livid. It was probably a first for Peach and the other Arle, seeing the normally cheery girl's expression contort to express such a seething rage. But really, who could blame her? The weirdo just threatened to eat her little sister, that's perfectly understandable...right?

"How about you back off?! Don't you dare touch Liddie!!" she screamed at the Foreman before turning her eyes at the fodder Farmhands and Scarecrow, one of them trying to attack Lidelle specifically. Oh, it's on now. "Cyclone Whirl!" Amitie called, creating a couple of small-sized whirlwinds and hurling them at the one who tried to strike.

"Aktina!!" the Puyo-capped girl rage-chanted as she began creating a massive projectile on her hands. It didn't look like elemental magic, instead, it really looked more on the arcane side of spellcasting. Well, whatever the heck that is, the Farmstead was going to get some if he didn't dodge in time!

Meanwhile, Lidelle was...just trying her best not to be caught by the crystallized folk. Despite her being one of the main targets, she was only attacked by one Farmhand. Huh, weird.

The crystal attack was thankfully dodged just at the right time. Now, time to retaliate! Lidelle suddenly vanished from the enemies' point of view before reappearing from behind them...at a safe distance. She then cast a trio of small-sized typhoons at the fellows, hoping to catch them off-guard with this technique. Once cast, she'd reappear back at Shin!Arle's side. She didn't want to worry the other too much.

First, the farmhands, who so helplessly clamored and shuffled. Due to the fact they were slow (and thus roll a 1d15 to dodge), the first farmhand was struck by the princess's hip check. He shattered at once, exploding into a small powder dust that painted the ground a glistening blue. The other...

Was not lucky, either, also detonating into a fine powder that clustered across the ground, furling upward into a shimmering pile.

There went the foreman, next. Into the air, onto the ground, and strewn about like a little man, broken and useless. As he was, of course, aside from buffing allies and occasionally delivering a whip to some poor sods. He was all but defeated before Peach decided she was going to gobble him up, in an ironic fashion!

The foreman was gobbled up, devoured, his body creaking and crunching within Peach's mouth as he was inadvertently destroyed. It... tasted like a color. Peach might notice it tasted like 'blue' specifically. What? How... did that make sense? As for the third farmhand, and Lidelle's strikes, those furious blows were too much for him to handle, or comprehend, a 1d11 couldn't stop the swarm of attacks destroying him. The scarecrow had other ideas.

As the Chaos attack struck the Scarecrow, it was sent spiraling before it could dodge, spinning and kicking up those dust piles into a blanket of glitter that rained down to the soil, planting themselves like seeds. Seeds of madness. Those piles of dust rose into Crystal Aberrations, pulsing and twitching as if they were alive, like hearts. They were welling up power, the entire team might feel this. They were husk bombs! The scarecrow died, and immediately converted its body into another aberration!

This was not the end of things, either! More enemies rose from the pallid dirt and dust to fight these foes. Three new Farmhands, another scarecrow, and a horse! They came looking to fight, too!

The three new farmhands shambled after the heroes, plows raised high into the air, ready to drop them on the first person they saw. Shin!Arle happened to be the source of their ire. They all raised their plows high at the immobilized woman, dropping them with angry swings.

Unless someone wanted to take those blows for Arle, or try and scoop her out of harm's way and dodge for her, these attacks were going to come down. Now the horse on the other hand was getting ready for a fierce attack. Pawing the ground, dragging its front right hoof back repeatedly, it was staring down Amite, shaking its head and whinnying. It was angry.

The new scarecrow raised its lashing hands upward, and dropped them down at every person here, a flailing of the crops! If crops, of course, meant people. It was targeting every person with its elastic arms!

Mind you, Peach uses Perry to devour enemies. She doesn't actually use her mouth, but rather wormholes them in there. But who's to say that means she doesn't know what they taste like? Not me, that's for sure! Peach's eyes widened and she briefly covered her mouth, enamored by the strange taste. ...Oh how lovely! She loved trying new food! Call it her sense of adventure, but she was having a blast! Well--With the taste anyway. There were lots of other things going on that weren't so great. Speaking of which--

"--Ow!!" Peach blurted out as she was rudely smacked from an incomprehensible distance. Oh hell no! You did not just slap the princess! She was going to slap that scarecrow back you best believe! Or well, she kinda wanted to anyway. Shin!Arle might have something to say about that before she got over there. Over by the roots, Shin!Arle was being beaten with plows! You'd ... really think that'd hurt a bit more actually. She just kinda stood there and took the blows, cringing rather hard as they bloodied and bruised her face. Lashing out in pain, she created a storm of deadly ice shards around herself to clear out the farmhands that were beating her!

After forcing them back, Shin!Arle opened her eyes, having been keeping them closed because she was worried about getting hit in one of them. Her bloodied face was joined by a stream of tears. ...What an inconvenient time to cry. She could barely see what she was doing.

Back to Peach, though. She picked up on the aberrations and had an idea to get rid of them. Turning about to face them, she held up a hand and a pretty pink fireball formed in her palm! She then began tossing fireballs at the aberrations. She hadn't noticed the horse eyeing Amitie, mostly because she was worried about trying to get over to Shin!Arle so that she could help her and she was a little bit distracted at the moment.

Y'know, they say rage doesn't allow you to concentrate. Amitie should've been an easy target due to that, right? Well, from the looks of it, her aggressive mood actually made her concentrate more than normally. And well, Amitie was always a bit of a scatterbrain. Maybe they'd have an easier time with her if they didn't rile her up. Out of the foes that just appeared, a crystallized horse was angrily staring down at her. She squinted her eyes. "Ekrixis!" she chanted, throwing what seemed to be a weaker variation of the previous arcane-looking spell beforehand...though it functioned very differently.

"Cyclone Whirl!" Amitie chanted once again, creating a mini tornado to attack that horse staring at her. It probably would not be much in terms of power, but hopefully, it'd disrupt whatever the horse was trying to do. Maybe it was trying to violently ram her or something, and really, who wants that?

Amitie's attacks were yet to stop. Soon after the cyclone attack, she threw a set of three fireballs - her Flame spell. She stared down at the horse, still with ferocity, however, it had quelled slightly since the Foremen that proclaimed to eat Lidelle was dead now.

Meanwhile, Lidelle...had seen better days. After being flailed by the Scarecrow, she let out a hard cough. What exactly...happened to her? She felt her body burning up inside and oh dear lord, the amount of pain she was feeling right now! Still, she couldn't afford to slack off. Not when everyone else was still fighting! "Tu-tuono!" Lidelle stammered, suddenly discharging one heck of a lightning blast towards the Scarecrow!

She lifted up her right arm in a wobbly fashion, trying to withstand the pain as she took aim at the Plow Horse threatening Amitie. With a bit of effort, she flicked her fingers, sending a blast of powerful air pressure towards the horse, trying to help Amitie take down the fiend!

Lidelle took to perform the vanishing act again - this time, however, she was set to attack the Scarecrow one more time, because hey, you can't be too sure about certain things, can you? She cast yet another small tornado, hoping to flank the Scarecrow with it like she did with the Farmhands prior.

The partys attacks have devastated the enemy fleet like a plague moving across a populated city. It had managed to struck a large amount of damage to the farmhands, Aberration & Scarecrow to the point that one of the farmhands and the plowhorse were the only two enemies that had remained for the group to face.

The Farmhand mourned the loss of it's partners as if it had lost families before turning towards the group. It's blueish dead eyes igniting in anger as it limped towards them. But first they're was the matter of the fact that it had to dodge the upcoming attack that Shin!Arle had in store for him...Her. Or it as it dug it's worm infested hands into it's muscle skin. Drawing strange coloured blood as it prepared to dodge the attack.

The chaos had ravaged through the farmhand in a matter of seconds, it screamed in pain as it fell backwards onto the ground. As the strange coloured blood began to pour out from it's corpse as it deflated. Leaving only nothing but the ragged clothes it was wearing and a puddle of mucus and body tissue.

As the group continued to fight, they would hear gentle voices around them. Three in fact, that may have been what the Farmhands were before they became...Corrupted.

"Thank you..."

"You saved us..."

"Thank you for setting us free..."

Despite this the group were not finished just yet, as they're was still the matter of the plowhorse and the fact that they could feel something moving...Under them like a sea creature looking for it's prey. But that matter must be left, at least for now. As the Plowhorse was busy trying to make sure it won't join his minions in the horrid realm known as the afterlife.

The horse, like it's comrades, had soon joined it in the afterlife as it crashed down onto the ground in front of the group. Letting out a soul piercing neigh as the flames around it's eyes shuttered out for the last time...And it's body began to fall apart as it crumbled onto the ground. Leaving nothing but the wasteland around the group.

Or so they thought...For you see, they're was the still the matter of...What was under the group.

Peach eyed the fallen horse, a sadness overcoming her. ...Horses were such pretty creatures. Seeing one in that state was just terrible.

Nearby, Shin!Arle launched icey shards into the Crystalline Aberations. Without any living enemies left to contest her, and with the aberrations immobile, it would be easy to finish them off. After shattering the remaining aberrations, she hesitantly turned around and marched back to Lidelle. Her lungs protested the urgency of her movements, but she kept moving until she reached the smaller girl. Dropping onto her knees before Lidelle, she took a moment to catch her breath and took Lidelle by the shoulders. "...Purge." she softly incanted. A wave of relief would wash through Lidelle as the blight was driven from her body. Finally, she leaned in and gently hugged Lidelle, burrying her head against the other's chest. Lidelle could hear that she was having trouble breathing. It almost sounded like she was choking! No wait--...She was crying. Just a little. The little gasps were caused by her difficulty breathing, as she had deigned not to cure herself instead. She was wounded and upset, and yet she'd chosen to heal Lidelle instead. The love was powerful in her gesture.

Seeing this, Peach's heart dropped. She saw Shin!Arle's intense love for Lidelle, but in its shadow she picked up on a lack of love for herself. It was worrying, but she couldn't try and solve everything herself. Amitie also needed her. Before she passed the scene by, she helped to heal Shin!Arle by filling her with her own love, making a wish for her safety.

Once she was done, she turned to her mom and fidgeted slightly. "U-um...sorry about that." She said, commenting on her raging outburst beforehand. "I-it's just that...I hate seeing people...trying to attack Lidelle, you know? It really bothers me...that I haven't been there to defend her when she needed, so..." she explained, embarrassed. "Truth be told, I've had a lot on my mind recently, and um...well...I'll...talk whenever I feel ready, okay...?" Amitie weakly requested. "This isn't a place to talk about things like this. We need to end that comet thing, after all!"

Meanwhile, Lidelle felt the searing pain be suddenly eradicated by Warle. And well...she was hugged by the 'doppelganger'. Warle was...crying, even. Why, though? Was she worried about her? "H-hey, Arle...I-I'm okay, seriously...!" she tried reassuring. She had no idea what to say now! "I-it's gonna take more than just a silly sickness to stop me!"  she boasted, attempting to cheer up the other. How is it that sometimes she knew what to say when other times she was stumped like this...? Maybe it was a heat-of-the-moment thing...
