Baseball Mechanics
Organization and Starting Off
Once the season starts, I will pair teams up and an elimination style and tell people to go make threads with each other.
Each game consists of 3 innings. An inning ends when three players are out. The person who posts the thread pitches first. Decide the batting order before you start--or just send whoever you want up. The team pitching should decide which players fill the following mandatory positions before they start. The positions can be changed mid-game, however. extra players can be wherever they want.
Pitcher:
Catcher:
1st, 2nd and 3rd Basemen:

Post Order and Deadlines
The post order is as followed
Pitcher --> Batter --> Rest of Pitcher's Team --> Rest of Batter's Team (That are on the field)
There is a 1 week deadline between each part of the post order. If you are having a hard time keeping up, we strongly recommend making shorter, simpler posts until/if you have the muse for more. Missing deadlines by excessive amounts of time or repeated complaints about missing the deadlines will result in that person's characters being disqualified and potentially replaced with NPCs. You do not get a participation prize if you are disqualified because of inactivity.
There is no judge. If need be, I will interrupt the post order or ask someone to hold off from posting so that I can make a post, such as to control the referees or offer up a replacement NPC.

Pitching
Pitching to the batter consists of 2 rolls.
First, roll dexterity for accuracy.
Then, roll strength for power.
Failing your accuracy roll against the pitcher results in a ball. Four balls against a single batter and they walk, moving everyone up a base.
Succeeding your strength roll if you didn't fail your accuracy roll results in a strike.
When someone attempts to steal a base, roll wisdom against their dexterity to catch them in the act and toss the ball to the base they're running for and get them out.

Batting
First, roll wisdom to avoid swinging at a bad pitch against the pitcher's accuracy.
If you succeed your wisdom roll, you can choose to call it a ball or attempt to hit the ball.
If you choose to try hitting the ball, roll dexterity for power against the pitcher's power.
Succeeding your wisdom roll results in you successfully anticipating a ball and avoiding swinging at it. Failing it results in a strike.
Succeeding your dexterity roll results in you hitting the ball. Failing it results in a strike.
Note that failing either roll results in a strike.
A natural 20 is a home run. Everyone on the bases plus yourself gets to run home and score.
When batting, you can take 1st base for free when you make a successful hit and don't get your ball caught. Or, you can roll dex to rush for second and risk getting out.

Running/Stealing bases
Roll dex to run for a base or attempt to sneakily steal a base. The Pitcher/Catcher can roll wisdom to catch base stealers and get them out. For normal base running, the pitching team rolls dexterity against your dexterity to throw the ball to whichever base you're running to and get you out.
If you roll more than 6 over the attempt to get you out, you may take 2 bases instead of 1. However, two characters from the batter's team cannot occupy the same base at once. If the person behind you runs, you are forced to run.

Catching a hit
The pitching team may attempt to catch a ball unless it is a home run. They get one chance, rolling dexterity to catch. They must roll 2 higher than the hit to catch the ball, at which point the batter is out.
Shenanigans
You may buff your stats. A single buff may only be used once per game. You may also attack other players. A solid blow will result in that character getting hurt and having to sit out the game. However, if you attempt this 3 or more times the referees will disqualify your team instead, even if those attempts were failures. If a team doesn't have enough players to continue, a random NPC will join their team temporarily as a replacement, courtesy of yours truly.
