Backstory: The Gerudo Avenger
Appearance:
History On Li: The battle seemed to last for days - Urbosa would not have it said that the Gerudo went down with the Doom of Hyrule without a fight. She cursed her own foolish pride for allowing her Thunder Helm to be stolen away by the Yiga Clan – without it, the Thunderblight beast’s lightning attacks had scorched her flesh time and time again. Smoking wounds lined her body like the cracks of a sharpened whip. The Divine Beast Vah Naboris cried out in agony as the corruption of the Calamity spawn fought to claim its soul, and every time it did the pain was far worse to Urbosa than anything she had suffered during this fight for her life. The seizing muscles of her legs threatened to buckle beneath her but she kept them standing – she held out her scimitar threateningly to the creature but her shield had dropped to the ground by the last shocking blow she had suffered. She felt the end coming, and so did the Thunderblight. It zapped itself to the left, and to the right at the speed of lightning itself.
Urbosa took a moment to think of her little bird Zelda, so much like the Queen, and gave a silent prayer to the Seven Heroines to watch over her and grant her the strength to conquer the Great Enemy. Filling her lungs, the Gerudo chieftain gave one last deafening battlecry and charged with her scimitar held high. She saw a light, assuming it was the Thunderblight’s crackling death-blow sweeping in to claim her but… no, the light consumed her as if she were running through a gateway – into the sun itself. When she awoke, she was lying within the ruins of a burnt-out farmhouse and her weapons of war rested beside her. Had she picked up Daybreaker? Or was it collected for her? Even her Thunder Helm was here – how was that possible? She searched her body for wounds but found none – it was as if the battle had never happened. She felt cheated, somehow. Collecting her prized possessions together, she found herself on an empty plain of unfamiliar land. With no time to question what life she now lived, she moved out to find Hyrule… to find the battle she had somehow left behind.
Primary Attacks (3)
Scimitar of the Seven: Urbosa wields a famous sword hilted in gold set with precious gems, and named after the seven divine heroines of Gerudo legend who watch over her people. The blade has been sharpened, oiled and balanced artfully and Urbosa spins and slashes with it with the skill of an expert swordsman, often accompanying swordplay with gymnastic kicks using both her strong legs and the pointed heels of her shoes. [Light to Medium Strength attack, 8-18%]
Daybreaker: Coupled with her sword, Urbosa favors this studded round shield, fashioned with gleaming gold and jewels for a light weight and hard durability to match its partner in battle. With it, Urbosa can not only defend herself but also bash enemies, charging into them or simply giving them a heavier blow. Incidentally, it can also be used for shield-surfing down hillsides. [Medium Strength attack, 18% or +1 Constitution modifier buff for 1 turn followed by a 1 turn cooldown, but not both at the same time.]
Thunder Helm: An heirloom passed down from one Gerudo chieftain to the next, and a prized piece of head armor for its protection to the bearer from lightning. Wearing it, Urbosa is able to give a savage headbutt in battle that packs a punch, and also is likely to unleash some of the stored electric charge from lightning bolts that the helm has withstood over the ages. [Heavy Strength attack, 19% with an 80% chance of Stun effect. 3 turn cooldown.]
Special Attacks (3)
Urbosa's Fury: A special technique of the Champion from the Gerudo people. Urbosa unleashes a barrage of destructive bolts of lightning from overhead on all enemies positioned within a sphere-shaped radius surrounding her vicinity. Urbosa's Fury needs time to recharge itself after it has been used. [Heavy Wisdom Area of Effect attack, 19% with a 40% chance to cause Stun effect. Three-turn cooldown after use.]
Stormguard: If she can time it precisely, Urbosa is able to parry an incoming melee attack with her shield which she charges with lightning at the same time. Daybreaker immediately reacts with a blast of electricity that runs a current through the attacker's weapon and deals a shock back onto the attacker. [When attacked in melee, Urbosa takes a CON skill check - if successful, she cancels out the last attack made against her with a parry and the attacker is dealt Stun status instead.]
Wardance: Armed with the Scimitar of the Seven, Urbosa is famed for her ability to dodge around attacks as if the battle were a beautiful dance, and unleash a counter-attack that imbues her sword with crackling lightning. [When attacked in melee, Urbosa takes a DEX skill check to Dodge - if successful, she evades the last attack and then gets +3% to her combat actions using the Scimitar of the Seven for the rest of the turn.]
Final Smash (1)
Rage of the Gerudo Champion: Harnessing her thunderous affinity with the Divine Beast Vah Naboris, Urbosa summons a huge, violent storm overhead in the surrounding area which acts as if Urbosa's Fury was cast three times in succession, striking the earth again and again with forked bolts of lightning. [19% to all enemies over the next three turns, with a 40% chance to caught Stun effect each turn.]
Other Info:
- Urbosa is from the period 100 years before Breath of the Wild.
- Urbosa's Thunder Helm protects her from lightning attacks.
- Urbosa's jewellery guards her from the uncomfortable temperatures of the desert at day and and at night (but offers no protection to hot/cold attacks).
