After nearly an entire year of hiatus, I believe it might be time to bring back our weekly Sub-Location Suggestion threads. Considering how much time has passed and the fact that sub-locations have been a moderate success, it seems about right to bring them back so here we are!
For those that weren’t here the first time around or don’t remember how this procedure is done, it is quite simple really. We’re looking for sub-locations for the board in the title (Crashed Nintendo Land in this case), so we want to see YOUR suggestions! Submit as many as you like before the Sunday of next week, from there we will open a poll for everyone to vote in and the three locations that get the most votes will become a sub-location in that board. The three lucky winners will receive 100 coins, in addition to being forever immortalised on this forum through their sub-location.
As already mentioned, the board we’re focusing on this week will be Crashed Nintendo Land. This should be a pretty easy one to hop back into! Anything Nintendo related is what we’re looking for in this one, this could be a perfect spot for lesser known or smaller Nintendo franchises to get a place on the map. Whether that be Pikmin, Kid Icarus, etc. Or maybe there’s a rival park not too far away named Sega Land or something. I dunno, it’s not my job to be creative, that’s what you guys are here for.
Priority #1 - Distinctness from the parent location: So for example, a sub-location in Mushroom Ruins should not simply be another part of Mushroom Ruins. Toad Town for example would be a sub-location we'd have to deny for not being distinct from its parent location, as that is already the primary setting.
Priority #2 - Roleplay Opportunities: Locations suggested should provide a wide variety of potential missions that could be hosted there. If a location seems more like an individual mission gimmick that caters itself to one specific type of mission, it's probably better off staying that way rather than becoming a sub-location. The same goes for locations that characters can't logically normally access.
Priority #3 - Iconicness: Locations should be representative to the series, as opposed to being stuff that has been randomly made up because it sounds fun. Making your own stuff up is great, don't get me wrong, but because of the issue of clutter we probably won't be accepting custom sub-boards at this time.
A good template to fill out when suggesting sub-locations would be:

A good template to fill out when suggesting sub-locations would be:
Name of Sub-Location:
Parent Location:
Description: Describe the location as it should appear on Li, or as it appears in-game
Role in Parent Series: Tell us about the location's significance in it's game(s) of origin
Suggestions as of now:
Name of Sub-Location: Desicated Inkopolis
Description: The ruins of a once grand metropolis, home to the inklings and jellyfish, hangs high and dry above Octo Valley and Octo Canyon. The city is now inhabited primarily by octarians, who keep the electricity running but don't do much to keep the city from falling into disrepair. The fashion-conscious octolings serve as the elite's of the city, and aren't fond of anyone who doesn't keep up with current fashion trends--but most especially inklings. Their allegiance is otherwise unclear, a closely guarded secret it seems.
Name of Sub-Location: Corrupted Terra
Description: This once large and lush territory was once a breath of hope, serving as a mysterious area uncorrupted by the starvia. However it quickly became overrun with the corruption, a disease-themed infection of the world that brings with it eldritch monstrosities, and the crimson, a gore-themed counterpart. These evil plagues threaten the already fragile nature of Li, with only the sunshine-rainbows-unicorns-and-murder Hallow to keep them from spreading uncontrollably to the rest of Li. A myriad of tunnel systems full of precious materials lays underneath the surface, and if you go deep enough--you'll reach Hell!
Name of Sub-Location: Hocotate Peninsula
Description: A good mile or so off the coast, a strange island that is bridged to the mainland by a land bridge for a few days every month. Everything that approaches the island is reduced to 1% of its normal size, forcing them to live in a world of giant fauna and voracious wildlife. Just about the only thing on the island that wouldn't like to take a bite out of you would be the eponymous Pikmin, also struggling for survival in this incredibly unbalanced ecosystem.
Name of Sub-Location: Pristine New Leaf Town
Description: An oddity in Li’s landscape, New Leaf Town remains as it was before it was merged with Li. More curiously, the townspeople live there in peace, without any known Starvia activity. Life Sphere officials have grown suspicious of the area as the town’s inhabitants seem to be rather ignorant towards the state of Li and continue their daily routines as though nothing has happened, bribing adventurers with fetch quests and companionship.
